- This was an extra busy week in and around Sugarwood, our 1790 home in New England's countryside, but I made sure to make time for a few simple pleasures between errands to enjoy life and a few stolen moments of fresh air, fun, and fine living.

Found your channel a couple weeks ago. I have been catching up watching past shows while on the treadmill prior to work. Typically I can become bored on the treadmill but your episodes make the time fly by!!! I haven't been to the New England states sinces I was a very little girl (about 50 years ago) so I am enjoying the beauty of the homes and sites you have been sharing. Thank you!!! ❤
Linda, I love your home, gardens, woods and surrounding quaint places… all that you do is amazing! Sugarwood is Enchanting! Thank for the beautiful videos you posts.… ❤ 🪴 🌿 🌸
Linda, would you kindly edit a nice long video starring Willow? My miniature is crushing on her bad. Whenever Papi hears your voice he comes running hopeful to get a glimpse of Willow. Maybe a video of Willow enjoying your homes, the grounds, walks, playtime, etc. It would be much appreciated. ❤
i cant wait to see your garden in bloom ! just beautiful
You have worked so hard on your gardens and house and it is really paying off! Beautiful!
Hi Linda, everything looks great love your beautiful gardens, thank you for sharing have a great rest of the day.
What a wonderful week you’ve had! Just put out my hummingbird feeders today, waiting patiently for them to return. Thanks, once again, for sharing. I enjoyed it all.
❤❤❤❤❤
Such a fun video. Your garden are looking wonderful.❤
We put our hose in an old wash tub.
Linda, your gardens look so beautiful and they haven’t even bloomed yet...wait until they are in full bloom...amazing. I love the arch and I’m so glad you chose to do the wood design in your tavern room. You are so talented ....beautiful vintage wicker too. Blessings beautiful lady 🌷🌿🌸
I have several solar pumps and one lights up at night while also being a water fountain during the day. Love yoir garden.
Thank you Linda, you've made my afternoon!
Love everything about your Sunday, video. Everything you do is so magical. 💐💕
You are so relatable. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
My husband and his buddy have a log splitter and they us it all the time.
love the material you chose for the bench seats !
All this beautiful work to be covered by snow and your house also😢
Your garden has come so far under your care.
I enjoy every video you make, the cinema photography is exceptional and you must have had some instruction because it is lovely. I did not make a comment about the wallpaper you were going to use, but I am so glad you abandoned the idea. From the first time I saw the board and bat in your former home, I was impressed and loved the look. I know this will be the same high quality and show off your work in that unique multipurpose room to its best advantage. So glad you didn't use the paper, you won't regret it. Your gardens are exploding with beauty and you certainly have the green thumb touch! Are you a Master Gardner? Looking forward to your next offering next week.
Hi thank you so much. No training with the filming, just lots and lots of experience in learning and not a master gardener. Just a Master learner! 😁
Linda would you please include a reminder about the product you used to seal up interior cracks to prevent critters from coming in the house? Also where you purchased it? Thank You 🙏 😊
Believe it was steel wool
Have you ever tried a Hoselink? It retracts and comes in 50’ or 82’.
I haven't I will look into that. Thank you!
Where did you purchase Queen Beth
Hi Linda, I loved your intro, very-very nice. 👌 You’ve been busy. Your wall is looking amazing, you are so talented. The garden 🪴 is gorgeous, wow, what a great video, thx for inspiring us every week. Happy Memorial Day weekend! ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸
Oh so loved this video! Things are looking so accomplished and finished. I love that feeling! Going to love the archway you’re creating-I want to do that. You’re such an inspiration for making a beautiful life on the property. I love doing and being outside also. The music is so relaxing on this one also. Thank you so much for taking us through this wonderland you’re creating.❤
I agree. You said it so well for all of us!
I agree. You said it so well for all of us!
Thank you for this wonderful jam packed vlog! One of my simple pleasures of the week! I get a coffee, and watch. I watch again later in the week as well. 😍
Good for Ben getting the log splitter. It will save money and hard work. It looks like a fun piece of machinery. So cute that Willow takes toys outside. 💕 Everything inside and out is lovely. The wicker is so special. Can't wait to see the fabrics used and the new windows!
Love how you bring us along for so many side trips and loving how Willow gets to come along.
The quality of your videos are superb. A wide variety of interesting topics.💜
Always so happy to spend the day with you. Your flower beds are beautiful.
Hello, sweetheart. The wicker chairs are fabulous! 😊 Things are really coming along.
You are trying to eat "healthier"? I must be honest, and speak from proven facts... The only thing "healthy" you had there, was the avocado in those sugar/carb bombs! 😮 The "smoothie" is nothing more than a candy bar in disguise, and will raise insulin to astronomical levels! 😢 Please, please, please research Dr. Ken Berry and his wife "Neisha" (she is an RN 👍) on UA-cam. Type in carnivore diet, is fruit healthy, the proper human diet. Grains, almond milk, bananas... 😢
I have learned so many things regarding truly proper diet and the lies so many "doctors" have been telling us for a hundred years or more! 😢
BEEF, BACON, BUTTER & EGGS❤👍
Hugs and blessings,
🌲Washington State🌲🌅🇺🇸
Your garden is looking soooo beautiful! Also your golf game & dinner sounded like a great time.
🌿🌿Great video, Linda. Wonderful assortment of topics. 🌸💕🌿
I can't believe all that you have accomplished. Your home and garden are beautiful!
A gardener I have followed online for around 7 years in the last two years has begun using cardboard layered on the soil with mulch covering it as a weed suppressor. It has worked for her (them) and she has expanded it’s use over their large property.
It wouldn’t hold up in the wind…
LOVE Garden Answer! 🥰
You are amazing with color and textures. Beautiful ❤
I love to watch the great progress on your home and garden. They both look beautiful! Your golf evening looked like lots of fun!
Hi Linda, the house and gardens are looking great. Wall paper for board and batten. I love both. I’m proud of you for making the change. Do what makes You happy!!❤
I loved to see all the interesting and encouraging projects and adventures you have each day. My favorite channel.
Appreciate your efforts. I live in SoCal and we have nothing like this in my area. I get the feeling I'd love living there but so not use to all that seasonal snow although it is very beautiful!
You work so hard in your gardens and house. Everything is so beautiful. I enjoy your videos so much. Sugarwood is just so awesome.
Love what you decided to do with the walls. Will look stunning and authentic when painted!
I don’t know how you can get all of this work done. And it is all such a beautiful garden.
Before your video starts I know that I will love it , ♥️😍😊
Linda Dorough Dixon/Mountain Park, Georgia/So sorry the faux molding didn't work.. Remember, I said I looked at it at a store and I said you would not be Happy...It just looks fake, that's all...The real thing will be worth your hard work... The room will be so nice...
Linda Dixon/MPG/The Wisteria should be moved to the edge of the woods,, I have a vine I bought 3 years ago.. It has bloomed two times, only for a couple of weeks.. Very disappointing ..Another disappointing part of owning a wisteria plant is that the vines are probably already near your foundation...You and Ben should get the plant moved quickly and pull the vines up to see where they have traveled.. My gardener and I have to search the vines in my yard this summer because I am worried they are near the foundation...I think we have a life long problem.. A friend told me that wisteria is the most invasive plant to have... I may have wisteria growing in my cabin before long... HAHA
I really enjoy your videos. Just wanted you to know that I've had a rugosa rose for 15 years, zone 6 in CT, and it hasn't spread that much. By the size of yours, I'm guessing they're old, so I wouldn't worry about moving them. Just a thought.
Love the black on the wicker, love the lattice idea also. Your yard is heaven, thx for sharing. It is so lovely to watch your creativity.
Thank you for the lettuce tip, I didn't know that, and this afternoon, I stayed away from the crown!
I'm so happy you decided to use the strapping instead of the wallpaper for the bottom half of the wall. It really shows off the Tally-ho but gives the formality of wanescotting for the tavern.
We love how everything is just looking so magical! I hope you are enjoying (mostly) every moment at Sugarwood. You and Ben are wonderful Stewart's, and both of you are making your marks in the legacy of every property.
So nice to see your week and all the progress being made at your Sugarwood. Enjoyed the change in your Tavern, you were so right! ❤ from Georgia!
A hose link works wonderfully
Regards Emma Gush from South Africa.
I love splitting wood! I find it therapeutic/cathartic. 😁
I have wooden benches that need painting. Bob already stripped a little with a heat gun. Maybe tomorrow I will do it in the morning. Your garden is pretty!
it’s beautiful there except when you get all that snow🙁we live in Southern California & if we we want to see snow we go to Palomar mountain or big bear! Not my my place to live!
If you come to midcoast Maine, I'd love to take you to the Botanical Gardens and then to a cozy restaurant on the water here by my house on Southport Island! PS - I had one of those fountain plates and ended up not using it because when it was sunny it would spit the water out over the side of the birdbath and it would be dry in no time, and they tell you not to run it when there's no water... I loved the idea, but not the babysitting of it!
You work so hard and your home is looking beautiful!
Thank you for taking us with you on your adventures!
My husband and I celebrated our sixty second anniversary on June third so congratulations on your anniversary pat from canada
Love being outside in your gardens, they keep getting better and better. I hope you will show those wicker chairs in the garden room. Thanks for the video.
AGAIN, Ive said it before and ill say it again...your house and gardens are so warm and inviting. I absolutely am in awe! i loved the arboretum tour. it was lovely!
I LOVE the fabrics you chose for the window seats!! 😊ALSO, the pillow fabrics!! Such fun to shop with you!!
I’m very glad someone spoke up about that wallpaper. I love the other treatment by far the best for Sugarwood!
Lovely Linda!! Your gardens are coming along nicely!! And it's great to fit some fun into your life!! Even the hummingbirds get their nectar:)
We have an old electric log splitter that I love. It's not large, but does really big logs. We've only 3 acres, but being on the sea we get plenty of wind and we can't keep up with the amount of fallen trees we get in the woodland or along the shore. It's fun to use, isn't it!
Your Grandparents wicker is gorgeous!
Ocean wind and mountain wind! So hard to keep up with!
So many questions to ask you. Love your videos. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Love all the fabrics. Beautiful ♥️♥️
Just a suggestion, it’s so hard to read subtitles and watch your video at the same time. Uggg sorry.
Great video Linda, your garden is looking lovely, I’m looking forward to seeing your peonies in full bloom. The video you made a while ago of the glorious peonies you displayed in your home, I loved, I watch that video a lot because they looked phenomenal. I think the board & batten will look so good when painted & more in keeping. 😊
Just loved this video. The wicker chairs looked so good. The wood splitter was a wise purchase. Glad to see you adding in leisure time along with all the work you do. The wall is going go to look amazing and can’t wait to see the new windows. 😊
HA HA Linda How about a 3 hour feature film No your worth waiting for.
Everything is turning out beautifully!
Please satisfy my curiosity - white box-like on floor across from Queen Bess. ????
Thank you.
Hi! I'm trying to think of the white box you're mentioning. Could it be the built-in bench seat without it's cushions or did I actually have a white box on the floor? I do have many boxes around when deliveries come and I will gladly share if I know ;-)
Linda, another video of yours I so enjoyed! Your garden is absolutely beautiful… just like you my friend!
Linda, don't plant yo u r wisteria close to your home . Very invasive. Love your videos. God bless. From the bootheel of Missouri
Thanks for including us in your thought processes and little excursions out and about. It’s good to wear a mask when sanding old paint, as they commonly contained toxic lead. Had to laugh at the sushi “Avocado Roll.” Here in Los Angeles those are known as “California Roll.”
Hi! California Rolls here have a bunch of other things, but I'm not sure what's in it. I will have to look closer.
You mentioned another UA-cam site to look at . What was the name of it. It had a year at the end of it.
Your home & property is looking beautiful
Everything is so beautiful! I learned from a UA-camr that when making hummingbird food to heat one cup sugar with only one cup of the water then add the other three cups of cold water from the fridge……instantly cooled hummingbird food. I now do it this way every year. I love your channel. 🌺🌸🌹🪴🌿
That's a really good idea vs waiting!
I love your videos I get so much peace and relaxation , I can’t wait till your post more, you got me working on my new garden thank you❤️
Linda do you use mulch after planting ?? I found that at my home in the Lakes Region in NH. That they did mold and rot, and came up like cow flops. So trying to e rich my soil and do without the purchased mulch. Just wondering. Looking at your soil as I watch 😮
They used a compost mulch, and I can’t help but wonder if what happened to you was that it did not percolate long enough. I just ordered more, and I was told it was not ready and hast to compost more. Within a day, mine was nice and dry, and in small little pieces.
Your gardens are very pretty and your home is beautiful! Xo
I work in Colonial Williamsburg…I have a feeling the house that you watched the video about may have been the Nelson-Galt House…it is one of my favorite houses in the historic town!
Yes! That’s it!
After reading all the comments, I think I will not subscribe 😢
Love what I did get to see your Garden is gourges
Thank you for watching! No need to subscribe.
I absolutely love your garden and home. How I wish I had your energy. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I have noticed that you do not have anything spiritual in your home or your garden. would love to see a garden angel.
My garden angel got broke in my previous move. Time for another
You have ever more diverse projects you are working on, simultaneously.🤗 It's wonderful to see all of the work you've already accomplished, and other projects coming to fruition.🌞 The home and, grounds are looking gorgeous. I find you so inspirational, Linda... As busy as you are, I'm glad you give yourself some downtime, with your husband, and/or on excursions, that have you out and about. I think your week must have more than 168 hours in it.🪴💐💚👏
You are so thoughtful, I love how you explain everything. Btw, a string of clear lights on wood arch would look lovely.
I have some tiny solar ones I might try. Not sure how long they are though. I bought them last year and need to find them lol
Maybe Sunbrella fabric for bench seating or outdoor cushions
Me & my partner have our home & antique shop in cape neddick Maine on the market , retiring & moving to Williamsburg va
Good luck with your move! Very exciting!
Loved the video. Your garden is looking so beautiful. 😊🇨🇦
You are so cute….where do you get all of that energy?
What an excellent show! Took away a lot of great inspirations ❤❤❤ Thank you
Loved the variety in this video! So many pretty things to look at!
Hi Linda, would you happen to know what the white shrubs are near your lamp post? Thank you
Japaneses snowball viburnum
Don’t forget all what you buy
❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is my favorite channel, I get so excited when I see a new video.
Those expandable hose are dangerous. Get bionic steel hose instead
One hour before reading your comment expandable one exploded. Pop!. We do have the other hoes you mentioned, which I have out now
I bought a solar fountain like that last summer. It was nice while it lasted. The birds did enjoy it. It stopped working after a few months. I probably will buy another one. 😊
Where did you buy it?
@@cathymorse1801 Amazon
Personally I love light and would never close off or reduce the size of a window. The window you are replaceinglast appears to have waves glass. Sometimes people pay extra for waves glass. I ❤ your choses and decorating . Fun to watch.!
You threw the shoes and then whoops ,another pair..........made me laugh, so natural. Can’t wait to see more.
I did cut out my cursing at it because one shoe fell out of a chair on the second toss lol
Can you please tell me what materials you used for the board and batten?
Pine I believe
You are one busy lady
Bird feeders, I am looking for some new ones. Your yard is starting to look just absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing your week with us. Hope you have a great weekend sending hugs, prayers, and kindness.🌸🩷🩵🌸💜🌸💛🌸
