- I have some exciting news I want to share and I thought while I'm at it I will do a short home tour of consignment items I have purchased for our home as well as for my new shop. I am also going to give you an update of the tavern remodel, show you the front of our house with some 4th of July decor, and an update on my zero tolerance for negative comments on this home and garden channel.

I find it so unfortunate that you even have to post about haters and negative comments. Your channel is always so upbeat and positive. It’s always been my dream to renovate an older colonial home and I love watching to see what you’ve done. You have great taste and style and I learn something every time I watch. It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there and share your home and projects. I know I’m not alone in my thoughts when I say I appreciate your talents and would like to extend my gratitude for taking the time to post. Hi John, I'm afraid that negativity is a fast spreading virus around the world. Also online and also here in The Netherlands. And the silent (civilised) majority is afraid to go against it, it seems. So compliments to Linda, for adressing this.

I have a Brown Betty that belonged to my grandparents. My granddad was from Manchester. He came here when he was in his 40's, carried the teapot with him and married my Nan. She loved that teapot!!! I see a theme! Buy consignment goodies for your house. If it you no longer use it or it’s not working out, resell it in your own consignment shop! It’s a heck of lot better than a garage sale! I believe your shop is going to be beautiful just like your home. It’s so nice seeing “real” furniture being “reused” instead of being replaced by IKEA choices. In our area, we no longer have nice furniture places to shop from or we have to “settle” for shopping online or shopping in Houston where everything is so overpriced and downright scary!

This is an escape, yesterday we had to return a rescue dog to the breeder because we could not help her (the breeder then shared she thought the dog had numerological problems). I'm glad you addressed the hateful comments. I just don't feel there's any place for that negativity when somebody goes to the trouble of creating beautiful videos. And your videos are such an escape for me, I look forward to them so much! I lived in New England for 4 years and I absolutely loved it there. I was in grad school and then taught for a few years but I loved going to antique shops and shows and especially in the countryside and also to consignment shops. I moved back to California 18 years ago but I have such fond memories of living in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Nine years ago, we relocated from Vermont to upstate South Carolina. For the most part it has been a positive move. We are retirees and Vermont winters just got too long. That said, finding your channel has been such a joy for me. While sometimes, it's bittersweet, I do escape into the New England vibe, the treasures of New England that you collect and the way you decorate. I completely lose myself in your world, love your sense of humor, and memory challenges:), and emerge feeling full and refreshed after watching. Thank you for doing this, and the negative watchers be damned! My best to you and keep on being you.

Yes! Block the naysayers! I began watching your channel because I was going nuts during Covid seclusion. It has brought such comfort and inspiration. That part of New England is my old stamping grounds, so catching a glimpse every week has been a salvation to me. Also, seeing Willow snuggled up in her chair makes me smile. Keep up the good work. SO excited to see this post came up! I was making a tuna sandwich, HAD to stop and hit the button! Linda why would anyone bother to watch if they have NO appreciation for YOU as the person you are? I enjoy YOU, this channel, the things you do and share-how does the saying go “ if you don’t have something nice to say don’t say ANYTHING at all”!! I don’t drive long distances anymore and my daughter doesn’t live close by. Her husband is an Air Force Pilot stationed far from my home. ( Proud of this great guy we all are!) We used to travel to do things which we both enjoyed. So, I may never see your shop but I DO love what you are collecting for it- SUCH FUN! I love your early American bench, love it! And the early American painting above it, so pretty! The dining room looks so pretty, you're my kind of person, just beautiful. Your vlog is lovely, I’m sorry you had to take the time to not only delete the negative but address it. Your home is lovely. It’s always a calm oasis to watch your vlogs. Your new bench is so pretty. I’m excited for your new venture with the shop. I am a floral designer and I have a small studio in a shop that has different artisans with so much creativity… it’s wonderful. It’s in a little sea side village on LI .I don’t have to be there all the time which is wonderful and allows me to do other things. I also tuck in some vintage floral related finds in my little studio. I’m semi retired ( what ever that is ) so this is a perfect situation. I so look forward to seeing your new space. You are so creative. I love how you will change themes in your new shop. I’m renovating my 1940’s beach house and you are such an inspiration. Kindred spirits indeed. I have brown transferware, but think I’m going to stick with my white plates, collect white soup tureens… I’m stopping at 3 and am working on a moon garden. @@newenglandfineliving A childhood memory. My Aunt lived in Holyoke in a very old home. In the kitchen was a one piece soapstone sink with drainboards on both sides. Where the water spout hit the bottom of the sink was a smooth depression from years of wear. My hands were small enough that when I stood on a chair I could play in that water. Something about the smoothness was almost magical.
We lived in Attleboro, MA for a short while beck in the 80's. I loved it. We toured and shopped all of New England. I love your channel. We are now in Texas and it offers none of the options we had up there. Anyway, so I am living through your experiences. I have been quite ill for about 18 months and am now well enough to begin decorating my new home. Thank you for your inspiration and for your obvious kindness to all. I love your videos and home decor ideas. Love when you take us along to the consignment stores and later see all the neat things you have bought. There will always be people who will say things in the comment area that they would never say to your face. Chicken sh*t is what we refer to them in the south. Sadly it has become more common with social media these days.

The throws are a thoughtful gift item and it doesn't hurt that they are made from recycled material. (Yes, I am adding comments while watching the video.) I also love the earrings--big jewelry fan here but the material has to be lightweight and being made from birch bark they would be.

You have inspired me! I had an antique booth with another lady. I wanted to call it “Two Ladies”. It really became expensive. I brought all my merchandise home and began with a yard sale. My She Shed is full of inventory and I just carry items out to the yard. I put my sign up when I want to at this point. It gives me time for my home remodel and decorating, time for my grandchildren and time to cook real meals! By the way my husband and I are retired and we have plenty to do in our retirement! 😊😊

Hello, Her Ladyship 🙂The bench is stunning. The foyer is lovely peeking out from behind-- so cheerful. And the bird mugs you plan to sell also so so elegant, *really* eye-catching! (If you had shipping, I'd order!) Btw my fave mug is a (Emma) Bridgewater swallow mug found in Brattleboro VT-- also British, you might like her style, her birds are lovely. And the earrings-- so neat that your daughter uses birchbark. Please share more of her work in the future, and good luck to her in this enterprise.
The fact that you think of a "theme" for your house-- it's like you want the house to tell a story, and makes me think, what story do we want our house to tell? Hmmm... it's a very helpful way to think about a house and make it more fun.
