I love seeing the butlers pantry .such a lovely space
Linda, I loved the intro!!!!. Such a beautiful reflection of all that you do.❤
Thank you!
Like your Willow alarm clock.
I absolutely keep a candle in the window. I started when our son served in the Army. He was gone for ten years! That candlelight never went out!
I love hearing that!
My neighbors across the street keep lighted battery candles in their windows- I love it,so warm& comforting. My windows are full of potted plants😉 Love your vids!🌱🌧️💐
I was just at a New Leaf last week! Bought a lovely chair there-they are such a great place
As a very young girl Little Woman was the first book I read and enjoyed 😊
K
Oh wow .. excited to see Little Women house! Love the book, movie.
My car takes me where it wants to go too! But I always enjoy the ride! Another enjoyable video, Linda.
Love when cars do that!
Really enjoyed the video. I love to see the different areas you visit. You give me ideas for my next visit to New England 😊… And I think a Hartley Botanic Greenhouse would look so nice behind Sugarwood!
Loved the video, I have 4 windows with year round candles in them.
Wonderful - so enjoyable.
thank you!
Peonies do not like to be moved, and will take a long time to recover. Move the lupines instead.
I think the lupine will be the one I move. I will put it closer the one that is on the other side of the garden.
So excited to see this video. Thank you for sharing all your experiences. Your daughter is precious, I will subscribe to her channel today. Like mother, like daughter 💝
Thank you Linda for taking us with you to see these lovely places 😊
This was such a heartwarming video for me Linda. I grew up in Belmont and had a family home there for 45 years. I can't begin to tell you how much time I spent in Concord and Lexington and still miss it to this day.( I have relatives buried in Sleepy Hollow.) I miss all the lunches and dinners at the Colonial Inn, and am still a member of the Concord Museum. I have been living in Maine since 1978 although I traveled for my career , and was away alot. It is a very long day trip ride, although it seems your new home is a ride now as well to Middlesex County. I am new as a subscriber and am enjoying all of your videos. Thank you! Your new home is exquisite!! Love Love the toile wallpaper in your butler's pantry! One of my favorite rooms haha!!
Love it when you share those beautiful New England towns. You have been working hard, those gardens are looking better and better. Thanks for sharing your home.
Really enjoyed your video. So peaceful and beautiful.
I like it when you play hooky. So wonderful to see all the history along with you. :) I love your candle in the window.
"One if by land...two if by sea" couldn't resist! Thanks for lighting up my day!
LOL!
Love the new opening! What a wonderful way to wake up with Willow checking on you :). Miss my pup. Thank you for your channel.
Just a quick suggestion; Now that I’m 74, climbing isn’t a good idea. I wash my windows outside myself. I hose them down, then take a small kitchen sponge mop, pour Dawn dish soap on it, scrub the windows and hose off. They come clean and dry without streaks! 😊
Thanks for the great tip!
Thank you for the little glimpses of The Orchard House. My daughters and I had a trip booked to go to see it and then COVID came..........Hope to get there one of these days!
Lovely varied video Linda, it’s was a real treat to see Sugarwood at night & the beautiful night sky. The welcome light is a charming tradition & a nice thing to keep up it makes your house look so pretty at night…. 🧚♀️
I do the same, 40 lb. bags of feed, 55 lb. hay bales, I'm 67, if you rest you rust. BTW I love when you take us on your excursions ❤
"When you rest you rust" I love that! tin man flash backs. LOL
I love keeping a faux candle in the window or in many ha
Congrats to your daughter starting a UA-cam. I just subscribed and watched them. She seems very talented. And she is your daughter, after all!
Thanks for sharing all the great stops and the home where Little Women was written.
Playing “hooky” is definitely needed now and then. 😀 gardens are looking good also.
Have a great Mother’s Day coming up. From Chesapeake Beach Maryland. Take care. ❤️✝️🇺🇸🍓🌺🦩🍷🐾 🦀

Woke up from a quick nap after work to your video... Love that you "played hookey!" Antique browsing is a favorite pastime!!! Back when I was 5-8 years old, we lived right next to Concord, at Hansom Field AFB. I don't know if it is still there (the base, with so many closures during the 1990's), but my 2nd grade class took a trip to Concord to visit Paul Revere's house and a big church (the North Church, maybe?). Fun to see around the town! I remember learning about Paul Revere's ride, and we walked across the bridge as if we were patriots. Cool that your ancestor was a Son of Liberty! I have two ancestors on both sides of the Revolutionary War. One ended up moving to Nova Scotia after the war and the other was fighting from Maine.
Just seeing your garden and how you used hardware cloth to cover the strawberries. I made a hardware oval for a raised metal bed to keep critters away from my lettuces, broccoli and a strawberry mini garden. So far so good! Had to open the chickenwire top I wired on for a tomato plant to grow up and out. :) Happy planting!!!
I always look forward to your videos. So enjoyable and beautiful to watch. 💕
Hmmmmmm
☀️🤗I really enjoy your videos. Also subscribed to
New England Simple Living.
Nice channel🙂
Yes, I keep 2 faux candles burning in our front window every night from 6 to 11pm. Love the tradition. ....
Hi there! I just found your channel and I just love it, so inspiring! I too live in the "Colonial" area of Massachusetts. Thank you for giving me a plan for my next "runaway day! 😅
I love your fine living lifestyle channel! I would love to visit New England and see the places you shared. I will also be visiting your daughter's channel. Thanks for sharing!
I don’t keep a candle in the window but think it’s a nice idea. Growing up I enjoyed all of Louisa May Alcott’s books and really enjoyed your trip there. Would like to see it more in detail sometime. Going to check out your daughter’s channel. She really favors you. 😊
Lovely, relaxing video. Thanks for sharing your day ...interesting. Also, you have a lot to maintain- gardens, areas to paint or remodel, etc.
I would love to visit the North East, but I am afraid I'd fall in love and not want to return home. I'm not sure I could afford it seems expensive.
I love watching all of your videos. I have candle lights in all of my windows and have been doing this ever since I visited Lancaster, Pa. where it is common. Thank you so much for all you do and share. Much appreciated.
Hi Linda we are thinking of moving to east coast , we’re from Texas and would like to know the pros and cons of Massachusetts living. Maybe make a video about this and also the problems that you encountered owning an old house. We’ve always owned newly built house never owned an old house. Would like to know first the bad side of maintaining an old house . Thanks a lot❤️
Linda Dorough Dixon...Would it make since to plant large boxwood plants around the huge tank in the back yard.. They would be beautiful and when they hide the tank they could make a nice hedge around it...the hedge would always be green all year around...
I put candles in my window in the winter months. (Daylight savings time.) Love coming home to the friendly glow.
A couple of horses on that nice pasture is probably nicer than a pool. :) YOu already have a barn. Sugarwood has given you this gift, all you need are the horses.
I just went over and subscribed to your daughters channel. In fact, I watched both of the videos and really do love them. I will continue to follow her and wish her nothing but the best of these fun and interesting videos. Maybe since you said that she was a chef that she’ll be able to do some of her recipes on her channel to, sending hugs, love, prayers and kindness…🙏🏼🌸👍🏼🩵🌷ps loved seeing you video of such a beautiful place.🌸 going over now, and looking at your store. I see some things that I would love to get.
I love all your videos I have been watching you for almost a year now we will be leaving for Tennessee to our new home we have been in the state of Florida we have been here way too long can't wait to have some seasons And I can't wait to have new gardens. I'm going to purchase some candles in my new home I like that tradition.
I have had zero luck with tall phlox. Do you happen to know what is the name of your tall phlox. I assume they like sun.
That's good we all need that
I love having sensor candles in my windows. I live out in the country, and it makes it nice to return home with the lights in the windows.
I keep the candles in the windows in memory of my husband who I lost two years ago.
I love that! Hugs
Peace, love, and an upward trajectory is what your channel offers. The beauty from within manifests into what you create here.
My husband and I are excited for every post, as it is our coffee date on Sunday afternoons. You do excellent with simple and grand projects you share.
Linda, I loved this video. I also loved the tradition of a candle in the window.Luv MJ
Thank you for taking on us a tour while you went to the dentist. Have a blessed week.
I am looking to purchase Tankards like you show here
I toured New England and to me it is a dream. 🤓❤️🌹
Enjoyed your day watching you playing hookie.
Hi ...wonder if you have any experience with planting hollyhocks? Am thinking of starting an English Garden...so why not , right? ❤😊
I purchased two pots late this summer and I have yet to put them in the ground.
Your videos are so inspiring. Thank you so much ❤
I knew the candle was left in the window for travelers and for loved ones, but not the other reasons. Thanks for sharing this. I watch Arlynn at Arlynn Country Craft Conner. She told the story of the candles in the windows. She keeps a single candle in every window in each window of her house. She lives in an old Battlefield in Virginia. Beautiful Colonel 💕 You have so much yard work, I did some today, tomorrow more will come. Big fires to burn so much wood from many large trees that had fallen over this past winter on our property and from the ones we have been cleaning out to make room for better trees. I will go over to your daughter's channel later this week. Thanks for telling us about it. Happy 4th.
Enjoy your tree and brush burning. I love to do that myself!
Always enjoy your videos. I was raised in the south. But I swear my soul longs to be in New England. Have no idea why. Maybe the seasons. But thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven.
KUDOS to Shannon!!!❤ Linda, thank you 😊
Willow is so lovely…do you have a breeder to recommend?
I enjoy your videos and love your home, so cozy and love how you decorate. I would like the get the fox gloves gardening gloves, can I order from your site, store???? I also like your voice just goes with your home, very soothing.
Hi Betty, Yes you can order on Circafineliving.com via link that says online store. Some of the colors are going fast, but once my vendor gets more (they sold out) I will get more.
Hello. What Breed is your lovely Doggie?
Oh and I have a candle in my upstairs hall window.
That was me! I was the one who said you should put in a pool! ❤ and you had responded back to me that there was once a pool in that big backyard. Thanks for showing the pic of it. You’re right, they are a lot of work. I live in Minnesota and it would be a very short pool season for us.
Linda love the video I recently subscribed to your channel also I recently lost a dear friend in a setting passing we were very close and you remind me so much of her Love your videos Thank you so much Linda
That's sudden passing. 😂
I have one lit but my neighbor has three. I love it also,
Loved hearing about the light tradition. I will be putting a few lights in the front widows and leaving them all year round. Love your soft spoken words.
Hi Linda
You’re correct it’s pronounced lupins not lupines. We have lots of them here in our cottage gardens in the uk.
That’s lovely your daughter has her own UA-cam channel it must be nice having the same interests as your daughter she really is a kindred spirit.
Thank you for letting me know about the pronunciation!
Your pantry room is my favorite room in your house. I love what you’ve done with it.
How about no leather sectional?? Room more elegant without sectional
It's one of the very few requests from my husband that has to do with furniture. He's been wanting one for a long time. I will make it work for sure!
I love the wire cages in the garden! Where did you source them? 😁❤
These are mine. I carry them at my store (not many left) and this is via my Amazon affiliate link amzn.to/42H73Bh
Another great video, Linda.
What is your on line store called
Thank you for taking along when your visiting place I feel like Im there. Please let us know where you find the wallpaper that looks like faux panelling in the Inn.
It is from Cole & Son, but I do not see the color available. I saw a dark green or dark charcoal.
@@newenglandfineliving Thank you Linda for responding so quickly. Thats why you're special to us because you make us feel like family. Have a Blessed Week!
How cool is that! Go Shannon!
The recipes for the tea sandwiches briefly showed on your video but too fast to write them down. Any suggestions?
I will work on putting them on my blog for you!
@@newenglandfineliving Thank you!
Thoreau. I swooned.
Great tour Linda.
I leave two candles on in the barn windows. Love it.
I love that they are in your barn!
I didn’t know anything about the candles in the windows until we moved to Pennsylvania in 2010, and I really enjoyed doing that in each window all year round, but after we moved to Arizona in 2020, I quit as no one around here does it. I should start again as I miss seeing them when we drive up at night. Thanks for sharing all that’s going on in your neck of the woods-it’s so nice to see all the spring 💐 🌺 🌹 🌸
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍🇨🇦
First
Willow !!!💙💙💙
Great Video! I am heading to New Enland Simple Living nest! And, my mother pur a candle in the window at Christmas and I put candles in my front windows for the Holidays. I also put them in the windows of my shed at the back of my property! I think I have pointed this out before, but the lyrics to "We Need A Little Christmas" has candles in the window. from the Broadway Play Mama in the 1950s.
Will check out your daughter's channel. Have to say, I'd keep your living room furniture, esp. If it's so comfy! We bought a new leather sectional and regretted it. That set looks like it was made for that room. Your gardens are coming along nicely! LOVE your home!!❤
Thank you ,another wonderful video! Question? Where did you get all your wire garden cloches,in your raised beds.
I so enjoy candles. I keep.1 in a window & always 1 on the table. When our daughters were growing I let them enjoy candle lit bubble baths reminding them to make their days beautiful.
I envy your gardens, what you grow, how you care for them....they are beautiful! Unfortunately, the deer I have (or should I say herds) where I live, eat anything that they come upon. (Except my lavender and anything I put behind my ornamental fence) I had also planted lemon grass about 2 years ago, but it will not come back in certain zones, unless you winterize them. The frost/cold will kill them. Thank you for all your tours of the wonderful homes and places in New England!
My grandmother lived in a beautiful old colonial in Concord MA. It dated back to the early 1900’s and had a huge kitchen and a stunning butler’s pantry with glass-front cabinets that went all the way to the ceiling. The house was sold after she passed and the first thing the new owner did was remove the butler’s pantry. 😩 That was back in the early 80’s and I still feel just a little bit sad when I think about it. Whenever I see your gorgeous butler’s pantry I get all nostalgic! It’s such a warm, cozy room! Just lovely.
LOVE The Inn At Hastings Park!!!! My daughter and I stayed there in 2017 (prior to our fall cruise into Canada which left out of Boston). Would ❤️ to go back some day❣️
I have candles in my windows. I took the tradition from New England and brought it to Alaska and now I’m moving back to New England and our new (127 year old home) has the candles installed. Side note, I’m excited about your daughter channel, thanks for sharing!
Your daughters channel was great look forward to seeing more! I subscribed right away. Thank you for sharing all you do! 😘
Hi Linda, in the beginning of the video where you are getting a cup and saucer out there is a pink cup and saucer in there. What is the name of that pattern. I love it. I have a set called Coaching Scenes I picked up at an antique store in Maryland. I love china and used to work for Royal Dalton and years later for Lenox. I love as a friend of mine said once, she loves playing with dishes.😅 Love your videos and the little tours you take us on. Please continue sharing your hooky days with us. I will now head over to your daughters page and check her out.
love this video. first of all louisa may alcott is a favorite of mine. so i loved seeing that. and then your gardens. simply beautiful. i love to plant lavender near a walkway, when people walk by and rub up against it that scent is released and it is amazing. great idea about the mint in boxes. i planted all around my pool in mint, and yet it did take over, but it is also moving where i don't want. haha! But that is the joy of mint. Did you know that mint, lavender, etc are natual bug zappers. bugs do not like their scent. Oh, also wanted to tell you, that you inspired me to try the butterfly pea flower tea. It is fantastic! You are quite inspirational!!! thank you!
One day 🙏
Love your new intro Linda. And if that is playing hooky, then go for it. Loved seeing all the stores and especially the Louisa May Alcott home. I wore out my book of Little Women as a young girl. Sugarwood is so lovely. I enjoyed seeing all the rooms in the morning light but my favorite is your pantry. I just love that wall paper and the paint color. Everything is so organized!! Subscribed to Shannon's channel and look forward to seeing what she shares with us.
Hi Linda, thank you sharing a lovely lifestyle home. Sometimes care for ourselves gets lost when we get too busy but watching you gives hope.
Oh Linda I love your hooky days we lived in an old home when I was growing up,after my father passed it was to big for us to keep up I still miss it .I will absolutely subscribe to your daughters channel can’t wait. Same here in NJ raining almost all week, but my. flowers 🌸 are coming along nicely 😊
The garden is looking so pretty Linda. I love a candle in the windows and have been doing it for years 😊. Good luck to your daughter with her channel 👍🏻😊. Enjoy your evening.
When we purchased our new home, there was an in-ground pool and I hated it. We finally decided to get rid of it few weeks ago. thank goodness it is finally gone!
Love Lexington and Concord 💙 Love history TY for bringing back so many memories with my kids🥺😁
