- Guards comment on character’s developed skills. It needs 30 lvl of skills for reaction.
There are no comments in the game for Blacksmithing, Block, and Alteration.

@@insertclevernamehere1186 There aren't but they will comment if your wearing a full set certain armors. Namely ebony, dragon bone, and dragon scale. They might comment with another light armor as well but I ussually wear heavy armor so I'd probably miss it.

I remember seeing this one meme some where a guard said "So you can cast a few spells, am I supposed to be impressed?" and the guard was in the sitting animation but was also floating in the air.
Well, levitation isn't something you as the player can do in vanilla Skyrim. So yes, you should be in awe at his casual, raw power. Lol

I mean Conjuration also has bit of Displacement Magic in it, wich means that you can summon up a bed, just someone is going to be sleeping on the floor that day.

As someone who gravitated naturally towards using stealth a lot, as well as my character being a khajiit, same. You'd think that a thane of Whiterun who's never done anything to piss the hold off, would be treated with a bit more respect

@@beverlyarcher546 yeah, all of these activate once you reach only like 20 in a skill. You can hear all of these on one character pretty easily.
@@Slender_Man_186 I think it triggers around 40 in any skill and becomes more common yhe higher level the skill is because I don't hear most of these lines until a couple hours into a playthough

The funny thing is ancient Nords respected and even USED magic I think, but the AD came along and ruined it.

Frostfall adds a conjuration spell that summons a shelter.
I love the idea of a mage being asked to do something and immediately responding with "I can do that?"

I think it's a reference to bribing your way out of arrest.
Maybe the shopkeep sold them the dull old blade that can barely cut butter.

Shop keepers/merchants never have been popular among common people. Think about it. People will always complain about prices being too high, merchants back then and even now have a stigma of being greedy and cheap (which they have to be) but being frugal does you no favors in popularity. They treat nobility better than common folk because nobility has coin and common folk doesn’t. In a lot of medieval games even fantasy or even historically accurate medieval rpgs/rts I always hear npc’s complaining about merchants/shop owners
Through out history they were never really liked...so probably same in skyrim.
Also for Archery: "Keep your arrows in their quiver, archer" .

Aside from that, I can't help but think that the guard was approaching the wrong person for the job, even if they had a sword.
When a guard tells me to enchant their sword to be sharper, I feel like yelling "That's not my department. Go ask a smith to give it a turn on the grindstone!"

As someone who was in a party with a sorcerer who thought casting fireball at a river full of piranha in the middle of a massive forest was an ok idea... things can indeed go wrong in flammable areas.
After the group got captured by patrolling soldiers/guards (minus me, because I was booking it from the time incantation started and recognized the intention) and got to the town where I had ran ahead to and I waited, the sorcerer started another fire in the grass built town in order to escape as the group pointed me out to the soldiers and got enough of a distraction.
That town happened to be the one which supposedly sold pets, a lost opportunity much to the disappointment of my Beastmaster Ranger...
@@morphingninja Respect to the Beastmaster, one of the least viable classes combat wise, but great for RP and support.
It's amazing how out of hand fire can get. One fireball in a camp can have tents ignite and leap from tent to tent. Hell, it's why my enemies rarely use gunpowder anymore, because they ignited the stuff with a wall of fire.
@@dudemcguy8949 I started multi-classing into druid after getting about 9-10 levels in, we were playing an accelerated campaign with some custom stuff like I could potentially tame any beast if I was able to find it and pass some skill checks (so favored enemy was beasts) by mid-late game I had a Giant Toad companion and late game I had a Giant Eagle companion as well (which had dragonbone armor with a dragon-skull helm and like a 26 AC) and they had companion boosts.
But the utility definitely worked in our favor a few times, being healer and then backup healer when we had a cleric, Pass Without a Trace for escapes/infiltration, and when the rouges had a heist in a museum in a wizard city Nondetection made a smooth operation for them.

@@richardball5843 same. I like to often switch up what weapons I use, but my favorite weapons will always be the two handed ones. (Plus the Wabbajack) So hearing the guards agree with me just feels special.

Considering by midgame I'm flush with so many filled soul gems as to actually start weighing me down, It'd actually be pretty fun to enchant a bunch of NPC's weapons for the war effort. By the time you're endgame and have focused on enchanting, smithing, and alchemy, you could supply the Empire to the point where the Thalmor wouldn't stand a chance. Supply the soldiers with the alchemical version of pervitin and set them loose with enchanted dragon armor and weapons.
@@danam2595: You can kind of do that in Fallout 4 by arming all of your settlers to your liking. A similar system in Skyrim would be really cool. Someone should make that a mod, if it isn't one already.

I always wished for an annoyed healer follower. A follower who is good at restoration magic, and who would heal the DB, while being a little Tsundere. Well, more like annoyed like healers in FPS shooters. "No, you're the DPS! Not the tank! I'm focusing on the tank! Whooops, rogue pulled, guess who's NOT getting healed now. You're all stupid!"
Restoration is a perfectly valid school of magic; don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

It's little interactions like this that make games feel more alive, it always puts a smile on my face to have some form of interactions with the NPCs

I always wished I could find a mod that would introduce a _conjure warm bed_ spell and a misc. quest to complete when they do the Conjuration line.
Apocalypse mod does have a conjurer bed spell!!! XD and yes I use it every time a guard says that line

See, this is where, I really really hope that in the next Elder Scrolls single player game, I can do nice things for people like:
Enchant the guard’s sword for him, thereby making him/her more effective at combat. Stuff like that. Doing nice things for people and have a sort of karma system or something. Immerse myself in a world where I can set trends and such. If I use magic more often, so do NPCs. Skyrim sort of does that, but not nearly as much as I want to.

Well...TECHNICALLY it's considered "light" to your character since they can basically exist wearing it all AND have other things while preforming normal movement. So in conclusion...dey kinda rite tho

Flames have always been my most used spell, I can't count the amount of times I've been told by a guard to "watch those Flames" also I always remove the timers from shouts so I use whirlwind sprint a lot to go through most cities, I can't tell you how many times I've been stopped by a guard just to have them scold me for shouting, but won't do anything about it.
Or when they start to shit their pants when you charge up a spell… and for some dumb reason It usually happens for me when I use candlelight

I actually encountered more racism in Raven Rock than Skyrim. The Redoran guard have venom in their voice when they call me a cat, where asin skyrim it's literally just a byword for khajit.

As someone who prefers magic in every fantasy game ever, I definitely heard the Destruction/Conjuration ones a lot. That and the "YOU'RE ASKING FOR TROUBLE RUNNING AROUND WITH DANGEROUS MAGIC LIKE THAT" since I always had two undead bosses following me around lmao.

i didnt know they had reactions to your skills when you reach a certain point in them, i thought the ol' "ill cut off your hand" line was just part of the normal guard voicelines.
Been playing Skyrim since late 2013 and have never realized that the guards have this depth of a reaction.
