I'm guessing that took a hell of a lot of manual pumping, maybe a battery operated pump might make it much easier but the tent does look great. It reminds me of the old-school canvas tents which are heavier and take much more effort to put up than the modern, parachute type material dome tents but offer much more headroom over the entire floorspace and a sense of solidity. In a way, you're lucky in the UK as far as camping in summer as you don't have to fear massive bushfires or venomous snakes and spiders in the bush/forest as we do in Australia but you seem to have so few state forests and fewer you're allowed to camp in. Plus and minuses, we cant have a campfire or many types of BBQ's in suburban areas let alone in the bush during summer due to Irish of starting a bush or grass fire and do you really want to be in the middle of the forest with bushfires being a high risk and if one occurs, you likely won't see it till its too late to get out of there. When we were young, (I'm almost 40) there wasn't the same risk. Bloody climate change and urban development preventing safely burning off.

@@JustanotherLisa It means being in or surrounded by wilderness. Basically out in the middle of nowhere. There are many channels on YT about people living off grid in the middle of the wilderness and surviving off the land. There's also ones of people camping in tents or home made shelters in the middle of the woods. I have camped many times out in the wilderness. I can't do it anymore but it is wonderful and I miss it a lot.

That looks like so much fun!!! Some women fantasize about their partner planning surprise getaways to foreign countries, beaches, etc. Not me! This is my dream vacation! A hot tent in a beautiful forest! So cozy, relaxing, and fun! the only thing better would be having that with snow!!

Now that was one helluva camp and top tent, Andrew! That's my kind of camping. I am past the stage where I have to struggle to get in and out of my tent. So this would suit me perfectly. And yes, I would wear slippers too in such a residence. More camps like this, please. I couldn't watch your stealth camp in the ruined old house/castle to the end. It was too uncomfortable to watch. This one I'd watch this one again. I had an old 'igloo tent' back in the 60s and 70s and that was inflatable. Your video brought back fond memories. Paul InOz.

I appreciate that you keep going out to camp and trying many different gear and types of camps. I'm really interested by that camping light, so much that I ordered one. The inflatable tent is a bit too big for my uses, but it's really interesting. Love how you do meals too.

I love camping but my knees are not what they used to be. I am seriously looking into one of they inflatable tents by the maker indicated from this video. But even more exciting than the tent prospect is that baked meal you made. I tossed together some of that at home with my deep cast iron pan and my electric oven. That is the best and easiest breakfast/snack type meal I have had. That has moved to my top 10 favorites now. Thank you.

Fabulous tent - would suit a small family or a few friends out exploring. As its a hot tent no need to rough it and YES !! slippers on a carpet and keeping the groundsheet clean are a great idea. I'd imagine in chilly weather or a moderate storm it would be luxurious - mad weather and winds may be tougher for it but then again those conditions challenge almost every tent

😂 hello from Arizona. Thought I'd give you a little tip for next time you mash avocados. After you remove the pit. Slice them inside the peel and then just squeeze the skin the avocado comes out already cut up. And for garlic before you peel it just smash it with the flat side of a knife. The skin comes right off and it's flat and easy to chop. Just a couple of tips from the Southwest...❤

Great video of someone who clearly enjoys the outdoors and camping. I have only one minor suggestion. In the event that it rains, which I know never happens in the UK, after you slip off your boots and step inside, bring them into the tent with you. A small piece of plastic will keep the tent floor clean, and you will be happy in the morning to find your boots are comfy and dry. Not to mention, they won't be full of ants or other creepy crawlies that wanted a nice warm place to spend the night, and you won't have to worry about animals dragging them off.

Love this video, Andy! It's springtime in Arkansas, USA...pretty and green too. I wish I knew the trees like you do.
We have lots of pine, oak, many species of oak. Redbud, gum, cedar, just name a few. Come & visit the Ozarks if you ever get a chance.
I do love the varied areas you set up camp in the UK...& seeing another part of the world! Thank you Andy!!❤

What a nice video. Nice tent and associated gear. Not all campers like to totally rough it to prove our manhood. Thank you for identifying the tree and plant species. Also thank you for taking the time to listen to the birds and identifying them too. A very refreshing video on camping in the UK.J.Au-en
