Ok, we had soooooooo much trouble trying to get bell part to click with the mounting. But I think I may have an idea.... When we took the "seal" off the mounting, the two pieces came together like a charm!! So, my husband and I are thinking the "seal" is actually just packaging and not necessarily supposed to be part of the mounting process.... I'm no blink expert, so take what I say with grain of salt. But, it WORKED ! Wish y'all the best!
The mount was something else but we followed the directions in this video and it was smooth sailing on out. Thanks for this video. It was very helpful.
Thank you so much for your help. I found no manual of any kind in the box and was close to tears, but, UA-cam, is always the place to check for anything. After reviewing all of the "Blink" videos, yours by far, is the absolute best. Thanks again!!!
As for as "Wired or Wireless", the doorbell is only powered by the batteries. If you connect it to the existing doorbell wiring, you can get it to activate your existing house doorbell.otherwise, you only get a chime on your phone when the doorbell button is pushed.
The camera box did not come with any usable instruction. But I do thank you for the instructions. This Texan could not figure out how to mount it without this video. Thank you much
Thanks for your video. I already installed on of these at our new house and needed to install on at ky mother’s house so needed a refresher. Thanks again this really helped
Best install video hands down! You explained everything so thoroughly so I was able to do it as you did. I only got stuck on mounting the doorbell as I couldn’t get it to click in place but I figured it out. Thank you so much😊
Is there a preferred height to instal it on the door frame ? I notice that ant see the porch floor to check if a parcel had been left there Love your videos Thanks
Purchased one of these, should turn up today. I was wondering when I install the app, do I have to install the app and go through setup again each time when my mum and dad want to use blink camera and doorbell on their phone?
Thank you so much for this video. I got the doorbell and an outdoor camera off of amazon during prime day. I had no trouble setting up the doorbell today and Im gonna put up the outdoor cameral tomorrow.
Attaching the doorbell to the mount is a little difficult but once it locks into place it seems extremely sturdy. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxxHZwMa8CsRjYhf9s4W8w0Dwm47uytWOp I replaced my regular doorbell with this and hard wired it in, using my existing wires and mechanical chime. I just bought the blink doorbell and two of the blink cameras for my husband for Christmas. Before I even start to mount the doorbell, do I absolutely need to have the sink module
If we already have a blink camera, so we need the sync module in order to use LIVE view on our doorbell (at any time, not just when it is triggered by motion)?
Thank you so much for this video. Zero instructions included in box. I’ve workedon this two days now. So I don’t want to do any subscription. Do I just put a thumb drive in the sync module box? Do I need to change any settings? Thanks again!
Do not remove the seal. Read your instructions so the clips and holes line up. Check how to do it before installing. You have to push down pretty hard to get it to snap in place.
@@chiquitawhitley7659 I followed the instructions and have it operating on my blink app and alexa. The video shows only on the blink app (so far). I'm still not sure why I need the sync module unless I have other blink devices. Definitely a learning curve...
*Everyone having issues snapping the doorbell to the mount* Do not remove the rubber seal, it is the weather seal, there are small hooks on the mount, once you push the doorbell onto the mount, push the doorbell down and the hooks will lock into their pockets!
This should be the top comment! People removing the seal and wondering why Blink didn't include such an important step should ask themselves WHY there is a seal in the first place.
the small screws with kit went through the back plate holes and the wedge holes but then would not actually screw in. Any ideas?? its like they need to supply a longer screw???
A simple question: With the wireless system as you have put, what happens when someone presses the doorbell. Does your phone alert you? If you have Echo screen would that chime? Where is the audio 🔉 noise coming from to alert you? i.e. ding dong sound!?
It’s the Sync Module important? I buy the video doorbell without the sync because I didn’t know I have to buy the Sync too 🤦🏻♀️ can I use it without the sync?
my partner has bought one of these but thinks you must use a drill to put on mounting plate can you confirm if she needs a drill or can you just screw on it on
Can you arm some of the devices and not all of them in your system? Ie..I want the doorbells/outside cameras armed all the time, and the inside cameras only when I am not home.
Important note. Even if you use it as hardwired - it still runs on battery. The hardwire only makes your old doorbell work. It does not power the Blink doorbell camera.
@@Alvisr7 if you hook it up to the wiring of your old doorbell it should make the bell ring - if the doorbell transformer is powerful enough. Ours is really old and would have to be located and upgraded first.
For the free plan, does it record video and delete after 24 hours? My camera was recording video upon first use, but now it is only recording motion detection. If I try to toggle on video recording, it says I need a subscription. I thought the camera would still record video/ take a picture?
My door and surrounding is plastic. I also rent so putting holes in the door or sides, I don't think my landlord will be happy. I thought you'd put a sticky back so I could stick it to the window part of my door which is in the centre. I have about a foot of wall each side like pillars. I'll see if I can drill into the cement part and hope people will see the doorbell as I have no door knocker and my letterbox flap fell off. I love the concept of this blink doorbell though and will get it once I've double checked my door and surrounding.
It only goes throughout the house if you are using it with a wired system (I.e.: replacing a standard doorbell with a chime throughout the house). If you’re not using a wired system then it will only chime on your phone.
I have taken all the sticky plastic on it off but is there a sticky bit below the camera as it’s seems a dull look but I can’t get plastic sticky off ?? Should I

What if you already have internet at home can you just hook the blink up to your internet connect without buying the square blink.
Where’s the wired install video??
Good to watch a video when you don’t know what you’re doing . Great job 👏
Do you need the module if you are hooking it up to and Echo show?
How tough is the device can it smash up easily rip it off with force?

Are doors made the same, I wonder? Cos that part of my door is CONCRETE SOLID. Lol. Idk if a screw will even go into it..... do I put it in the vinyl?

Will this work with command strips? If you’re renting an apartment and don’t want to screw holes and all.
Can you connect both battery and hardwire or one or the other
Battery needs to be installed regardless if wired
You do not need the blink module. The doorbell works fine as a stand-alone but you do loose some features
What features do you miss out on, if you don’t have the module ???
Very helpful i didnt have modle had to order one all i ways getting is red flashing lift no idea what it means
