5:39, if anyone else got stuck on this part & led them to a searching wifi screen & do NOT see there BLINK device listed there after hitting continue on the 'Wait untill the LED lights blink red' screen... On the back of your Blink Doorbell itself. There's a little plastic button right under the Bar code label. Press and hold on to it for a few seconds and the ring on your Blink Doorbell device will now begin to blink red and blue. Now it SHOULD appear on that wifi screen as 'Blank-####'. Select that, then select your home wifi, it'll next ask for your wifi password. After doing that, THEN It'll begin pairing. Not sure why many of these 'How to' videos don't even mention the button on the back but at least this alternative method for pairing your Blink Doorbell should work.
I am granny gadget challenged. No internet, no router. Tryed to set up Blink with Samsung S21, kept getting prompts to connect to nearby wifi. There were many in my neighborhood which I can't connect to without their passwords. Got as far as; Turned on wifi on my phone, then got stuck there. Guess I'll try to get son or granddaughter to help grandma out.
These devices can only work with Wi-Fi in your home. You can easily get wifi at home through your phone carrier (for a monthly fee). That would be the best if you want to have smart devices at home.
If you get a cheap router you can probably set it up. It wouldn’t have internet because that you would need a modem and a subscription to an internet provider. But a wifi router is basically a switch/hub that you can connect all your devices to and they can communicate.
Yes, you need a module. I forgot to mention that in my video because I've had one for a few years now. But they are around $34 or if you buy the bundle, you can get both for $54 right now on Amazon.
@MoDavI-sl7iy so ring doorbell or ring cameras will cost you money every month for almost everything they offer. Blink gives you almost everything for free. But does have a money fee for some additional benefits. Sadly soon all cameras you buy for your home will require a monthly fee just to operate. Long way of saying no I haven't owned a ring product, but I have used one at my parents' house.
I think it's a great device, but the instructions suck. I could not figure out how to get the 2-way audio to work until I watched this video. I mainly want this for deliveries that require my signature.
When I tested it by ringing the bell, it looks like I click the notification at the top of my Blink app to turn on the Audio. One annoying feature, When making a setting change, I have to ring the bell or wait 24hr for it to go into effect.
Great info here. I plan to get the doorbell camera, do I need to get the optional sync device in order to have recorded video clips in the Blink cloud? I'm willing to pay the yearly subscription, I just need to know if I must buy something besides the doorbell cam?
I’ve found …. that a ‘LOT of people’ that come up my door, WON’T push the Doorbell [button] for fear of being on video (I guess). What they don’t realize is; they’re being recorded anyway - “regardless of them pushing the doorbell button”. Which brings me to a Question: Why bother purchasing a video Doorebell when you can just mount another camera on your porch [instead] of a Doorbell cam? Why put out the extra expense for a 1/2 ass useless gadget??
My thought is that most people don't push the button because A they don't want to wake the baby or make the dog bark or get the kids running to the door. B they know that regardless of pushing the button, a notification will get to the home owner. As for a camera vs. doorbell cam. The camera makes people feel they are being recorded and watched, but a doorbell doesn't make people feel the same way.
So dang my street i live on is busy with cars passing constantly would that drain my battery in a month or is the motion sensor setting really a saver on that?
Hi? I have already blink video doorbell with sync module 2. With it can see the live view. I just have another one and trying to add this to existing system. But couldn't get live view on it. While i add the second doorbell it's ask will i add with sync module? I scanned the QR code of sync module 2, it's shows sync module is already registered! So i add second doorbell without sync module. With first doorbell i can see the live view but not with second one! I am a not tech person! Please help me out if you can!
@xubaerimran790 well it's weird because you should be able to add the doorbell just like a camera. I have two cameras and one doorbell with no problems. So you should be able to add the doorbell no problem.
@sashakelley4823 Yes, blink cams don't record 24/7 they just record clips. But if someone comes up to your camera, they will be recorded and you can download the clip to your phone or tablet.
Do I need internet to watch live videos and record videos? What do you need for a video to be recorded? Do I need an additional device to record videos? thanks
Yes you need the blink sync device and internet...it's actualy being sold with the Blink Doorbell on Amazon 👇 Blink Video Doorbell + Sync Module 2 a.co/d/6OTnmGI
@@AtHomewithLucas When I try to view the camera, Blink doesn't show it to me, Alexa says it's incompatible, I don't subscribe to any Blink plan and I don't have any Sync module.
I first used blink security cameras in 2021, I don't remember why but I deleted the whole setup off my phone, I emailed blink but it took so long to get a reply and as ime not techy at all i didn't understand the reply, they just said to use my user name and change password which I tried to do but didn't work as when trying to match my cameras with sync model it said the cameras were registed to another sync model so obviously couldnt use the system. So what I need to know is how can I use my indoor cameras with with my old sync model i cant use, or is there a way to make the old sync or cameras usable again...
Okay the first question is do you have Xfinity? Second question have you split your wifi? That's how you get Blink devices to work. If yiu do have Xfinity I can help get your devices working again.
Multiple ways. 1. Open the Blink app then click the video camera icon and it will live view. 2. Open the Alexa app and click cameras then blink doorbell. 3. Just ask Alexa to show blink doorbell.
Very good demostration.
Hey thanks glad I could help 💯😀
Accept or decline idea is excellent
Hopefully, they will add it at some point soon 🤞
@@AtHomewithLucas hopefully so

So happy to hear that! 😁
I was just about to get this, until I came across your video! I want budget but not with these issues! I'll keep looking. Thanks
Hey, let me know what you find. I know of a few budget doorbell cameras but haven't used any myself.

Thanks for the review very helpful
Always happy when I can help others. 😀
Great review, simply what we’ve come to expect from your channel, thanks for sharing.
Hey, thank you very much 😁
Do you need to buy anything extra for the blink to work? I saw a video stating you have to buy a blink module.
Yes, you need a module. I forgot to mention that in my video because I've had one for a few years now. But they are around $34 or if you buy the bundle, you can get both for $54 right now on Amazon.
@@AtHomewithLucas okay. Thank you. Oan: Have you tried the ring door bell? If so, what do you think about that one?

Just one will cover all your blink doorbells and cameras.
I think it's a great device, but the instructions suck. I could not figure out how to get the 2-way audio to work until I watched this video. I mainly want this for deliveries that require my signature.

Oh yeah, you do need the sync device. My bad, I didn't even think about that. I have had the Blink cams for years now. Lol
can you see a live view from your phone anytime, or only when door bell is pressed?
Anytime 👍💯😁
So it captures things without ringing the door bell ? We just got one and the only time it’s recording is if you ring the doorbell
Is the motion tracking turned on? It's the icon that looks like a person moving fast (blue if activated and grey if not)
Why are my settings different from all videos I have seen ? My seem to be just basic settings. I cant even check my firmware.
Blink just updated the app so it looks totally different. Firmware updates are done automatically so the Blink devices are always up to date.
I don’t have much idea about it. I’m not a tech person. Is it show live footage or only when you press the door bell?
Only when the doorbell is pressed. But you can see live view through the app anytime. Also you can ask your Echo "show me doorbel"l to see live view.

You have to ask "alexa, show me blink doorbell"

How do I get those two icons for the camera and live view? It only gives me event response or live view when it’s pressed

Same question, I have an IPhone

Oh that's not good. How is it going now? Any better?
Do I need an I Phone to make this work ? My samsung does not look at all like your settings ?
No both ios and android blink apps look the same.
What are you having trouble with?
you are using the Blink hub to see the câmera on Echoshow ?
No, the echo show will connect to the Blink servers to see the doorbell cam. Just like a phone or tablet does when they use the Blink app.

Do you connect the doorbell with the outdoor cameras on the same sync unit...
Yes you do
@@AtHomewithLucas Thank you Lucus

I dont see in the app where i connect the 2 way audio
You have to turn the phone or tablet sideways to see the microphone for two-way audio
My chime is not working on the blink it only rings on my phone
Try unplugging your echo or echos and see if that helps.
My camera not picking up movements, motions Help 🤔
Do you have motion zones on? What is your motion sensitivity level? Have you removed the batteries to reset the doorbell cam?

1. Open the Blink app then click the video camera icon and it will live view.
2. Open the Alexa app and click cameras then blink doorbell.
3. Just ask Alexa to show blink doorbell.
I don’t see a video camera icon 🤔 where exactly would that be located on the app ?
Open the Blink app then press the Play (icon) button, and you will see live view
