I’m going to do this!!!
do it bro
Listen my man. A lot of people don't appreciate when someone tries to help other people. Ignore the losers and keep having a good heart. Forget the losers who try to discourage you !
Thank you for saying this I was going to say it but high voltage words.
💯👍
well title "How to Power a Ring Doorbell with NO Power Source" but uses a power source, I can show you how to run your car without fuel, then film me putting fuel in,!!!!! what would you say to that then? exactly same, why not title it how to run a permanent power source to yoru ring doorbell, as thats more truthfull! and falicitate more positive responses....would it not
How to power your ring doorbell with no power, sounds awesome! Step 1, find power to supply the doorbell. Thanks, this was helpful!!
Glad it helped! There is also another solution, using a solar powered charger. I am working on a video about this now
@@DeaninItYourself He was being sarcastic....
@@1corycarwell he stole your face
Humm solar powered charger... yea the title is deceiving but I learned a lot!
I have watched hundreds of UA-cam DIY videos and this one is as good as any others I have watched so I subscribed to support this good channel. Thanks.
Wow, thank you!
Very well explained.
Step by step explanation.
Can not be better than this. 👏
🤣🤣🤣You became "my best friend in my head" when you said "borrow them...."😁
Just finished the whole video!! Genius!!!!! definitely doing this!!
Hehehe 🤔
But don't tell Them
But some one gonna hear
Like we did 😱
Thank you so much. This is what I've been looking for
The mastery here is you get straight to the point and you avoid wasting time with annoying music and unnecessary intricacies, There are other videos on how to do this but they are 40 minutes long because the presenter wants to include jokes and introduce his personality and tell us about his kids...Next thing you know I'm just fed up with it and that's how I found your video!
Great job, Thank you!
And don’t leave out their dog….
Great job on this video 💯, my friend I have the same Power cord as in your video definitely going to give this a try. Keep up the great work.
Dean, this is an excellent video. My first time. You are organized and articulate. I will be looking at your other videos, as well. Please continue your protocol.
Welcome aboard!
Thank you for this simple to install video
Well done you. Came across you by incident, happy to have found you. Good clear explanation. Lol about the borrowing tools, naughty!! Subscribed, cheers.
I went all in, and I got'er done. My Dad called me a showoff, but hey, Mom was happy. If Mom's not happy, no one is happy. Thank you for this video, it sure is helpful. You did a great job explaining every detail, that's what matters. Be safe.

Great comment and sweet taste in music....what a gal. ❤
@@KTPDAILY Thank you brother. 💙💙
I installed an adapter over 6 months ago and have had no issues. Strongly recommend.
Thank you my dude going to Costco to buy a Ring Doorbell awesome video. 😁👍👍
Amazing video thank you!
Thank you bro. I was going to hire someone to do it at my mom's.
Excellent video thank you so much for your help. I really needed this information.
Good, informative video! Thanks!❤❤✌🏻
Thank you fellow Caribbean brother for the help
Yes...🏝️🏝️🇩🇲🇩🇲
Thank you for your take on how to deal with this situation. I think you did a great job. Some people can tweek it how they like it.😊
You are so welcome
At first glance, I thought this was a lot of extra work. But if you're only dealing with a wall wart to plug into the wall, this is exactly the way I would do it. However, seeing how that light switch was so close I would've probably cut a box intothe wall next to the switch plate and installed a standard doorbell chime and wired it into the switch wiring. Then your low-voltage wiring could've popped out where the doorbell is. Job done
I would hardwire that in as well. Great video.
Thank you very much prescient all the same permission to give out awesome! I do have a question though what about the two wires that go to the doorbell chimes itself? The ones I have do not charge the battery! So what can I do to get it to sound off let me know I truly appreciate you and I love you videos you're awesome
Very helpful bro.... Thank you very much for making hard videos!!!❤❤❤
anytime
Thanks to explain everything very well
Amazing, I am going to give it a go. Thanks.
Wow! Excellent video!! Nice job!
Great job! This will help folks.

Thanks for watching
From London that was so easy thank you sir 🙏🏿
Glad it helped
Great job!
Lol, I love this guy he believes in the borrow-for-tomorrow system 😂
Thank you 👍
Thank you brother you are the best
Excellent video. I originally bought 2 batteries so I could keep one charged at all times. I'm going to do this.
if its too daunting, check out my video for the solar charger, it works awesome and less drilling.
You did a good job so amazing Thank you for showing us a good way to keep the bell from going all the time. That's a good idea. It's amazing. Thank you for your time. I appreciate it my friend thank you god bless you
you are welcome
Thank you for this informative video, I just have one question, would this transformer adapter also work for a hardwired version of the ring doorbell?
You were extremely helpful.
Great Video Bro!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Legend! Thanks a lot!
Thank you so much!
Earned a follow for the 'borrow' them bit. dun know
Awesome. Thank you. Now, begin shopping 😁😅
Nice idea!! Question: Can you leave the ac transformer plugged in all the time or would have to unplug it when you see the battery if fully charged. Just wonder if it overcharge the battery.
Cell oxidation occurs with lithium-ion batteries. This is an inherent result of using Li-Ion batteries and occurs during the charging process. Eventually, too many electrons are moved to the point that the battery retains “full” power, but actually unable to deliver it to the device, which results in reduced capacity.
So it’s “better” to leave a device permanently plugged compared with charge and use.
Great video! :) thank you! Very thorough and helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Good job! Thanks for your tutorial!
You are welcome!
Thank you.
This was such a good video! Thank you!

Thank you 😊
Wow! That's really awesome, but I have the one that the battery is built in. Ring Video Generation 2. The house didn't have a doorbell. Thanks for sharing, though.
Excellent video. Well explained. ❤

Thanks,I'm gonna do it
Very helpful, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks
Nice job 👍
I sure appreciate your video. I have snaked a lot of wire through walls but I did not have the magnetic type and i'm gonna get one of those. You might edit your opening statement to say that this would work with any wireless doorbell that has terminals on the back. I'm getting ready to do this with an Arlo doorbell that has a dead battery every other day.
Thank you!!
Excellent video.
Thank you very much!
Great job 👍👏 very good video ❤
Thank you 🤗
Excellent idea !
Good job and the fish wire can go through from outside bell drill hole so may not need another hole in the gyprock.
Formidable explicacion
Good job thank you!! 👊🏼
No problem!
Great video my only thight is instead of cutting the driveway and then feeding to the ring drill the hole for the ring feed the fish from outside then pull wire directly from outside
Great video really helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Good job
Step 7 you should make a hole in outlet cover and insert the wires. Great job. Congrats.
Outstanding - thanks!
Very welcome!
Nice video. Straight to the point.
Would this work with a Ring 2 door bell with the battery already built in? I suppose it would. Can you confirm? It would just trickle charge the built in battery?
yes it will, i am actually working on another video using a solar powered charger which works awesome
Looks like a fire Hazzard 🔥
its low voltage, no fire hazard
Very good instructions
Glad you think so!
Can this be applied to the “wired” version of the ring doorbell.
Does the wired ring doorbell need a house doorbell chime?
Can you do it too on a smart front door lock
Can I ask when you have connected it to the electric does the ring doorbell stay live ie is there a light on all the time on the doorbell
Soo help ful thank you
you were awesome... nice video. thank you.
Thanks for watching!
nice ... i'll do mine soon.. 👍...
Worked for Openreach and we were taught you should drill from the inside to the outside to ensure you're not going through any electrical sockets etc
Excellent
You can avoid the hole in the interior wall by just drilling through the masonry and fishing from the outside to the hole below on the inside. If you run the wire along the top of the baseboard, you can avoid removing it.
I was thinking the same thing...
Save me typing, as well.
Running wires on the exterior wall brings on tampering by cutting the wires so the crime can be committed without visual evidence.
@@cameranmanner4701 You misunderstand what I meant. Drill the hole behind the doorbell camera and run the wires down the inside of the wall, then drill a hole inside at the bottom of the inside wall and pull the wire in and run it along the baseboard to the transformer. This way you avoid the extra hole inside that needs patching.
@@philcook9967❤
Great job.
Thanks!
That's usually not the case in most walls because exterior walls have insulation. And you could have removed door molding one hole to the ring bell with drill bit on a diagonal...
why go thru all those trouble. i assume battery will last a few months if not a year. hmmm, oh well.
Good video. Why not take the electric from where you have your switches? It requires some more expertise but it is a shorter span. Also if there is a basement, the power adapter can be located there and the wire pulled up up to the first floor.
Are there options for the wireless outdoor cam? The one that runs on solar.
yes there is. I am working on a video for that
You could have put an outlet below the light switch. Tapping the line that powers the lights. Would have saved you a lot of work.
My first thought was the same about just wiring directly to the AC power source. Then both outlets would be usable without a random wire coming out of the wall with a plug. Then I thought about it and figured the reason he didn't tap into the power directly was because the plug adapter to the ring camera converts the ac current down to dc current. Without the adapter plug doing this, his ring camera would probably be irreparably damaged by too much voltage.
you are correct
But he could have run a wire down from the light switch plate. Created a new outlet and then run a low voltage up to the camera.
Not that everyone has this setup, but in this scenario the alarm panel is right there and it also has low voltage that he could have tapped.
@@debi7039 I thought all the Ring doorbells use AC not DC ??
I say good job, short, and to the point. 🙃
thank you
Yay! Cool beans!!
