i suggest buying the blink solar mount. This adds a permanent powersource to the camera, obviously depending on the location. but you can relocate the solar panel part
It's amazing how much these items have changed in just a few short months. Some of this stuff I don't even have on my app.

Question about the Privacy Zones, I set up a privacy zone in front of my vehicles on my driveway camera because every night a neighbors cat prowls around that spot. I succesfully set up the zones I wanted the motion detection to ignore, yet every morning I have a fresh clip saved of that dang cat going through only the zones I told the camera to ignore. So it seems the privacy zones don't do anything at all. How do I fix this?

Is there a way to make the sound on the outdoor camera
sound clearer?? There is so much fuzzy noise and you can barely hear the actual voices.
I just added the wired outdoor flood light to my system with the 3 mini cameras I already have. My system works great. I just changed my recording quality from the middle setting to the highest setting, but to be honest the middle setting gave me good clear recordings. I have not timed it but when I do live viewing it stays on much longer than 60 seconds, not sure if that is because I have the $10 a month plan.
STEVE DOES, when you place the mini blink camera behind a glass window either your front door window or back door window to view the front yard and back yard, how can you prevent the window glare issues or window reflection issues? How can you use two mini blink camera to view both the front yard and back yard at the same time viewing them in real time and recording in real time?
Try a stick on polarising lens for a cell phone. It'll remove reflections.

Great video and information! I’m having an issue with the thumbnail photos constantly changing on their own. Do you know how I can stop that from happening?
That is an option on each individual camera under the settings I believe
Lots of time spent on 'why' to use scheduling (kids in the yard, etc) but no help in how to actually USE the scheduling feature. Otherwise good job. But for now I'll have to keep looking for help.

Would u do a tutorial on the settings for a blink doorbell camera? Find it very confusing and I still cannot get it to work w/o an Alexa connection (which I prefer.) Thanks
To my surprise Blink is the only one now working fine with Alexa routines, Wyze and Eufy are bad. The only disadvantage I'd you can only view live on one device so I had to get multiple Blinks to set them up on multiple Alexas with screens, good that they're cheap

You may have set night vision to On. Set it to Auto or Off

just bought - set up was ok - but not yet pin it up on the door due to the fact you need a drill regardless for 2 small screws

The new models require a subscription or flash drive for local storage. Your 6 cams were grandfathered in and don’t need what the newer two do

You can turn off audio on them so that there is no sound

4:19 Are you recording for at least 20 seconds or are you cutting it off early. You're contradicting yourself. lol
Yea that threw me off. I just set up a pretty solid blink system and have all of my cameras set to record their max length possible with the option to stop recording early once it stops detecting motion. Doesn't that make the most sense? So that way if something continues to trigger the camera, you don't have to wait the minimum 10 seconds for it to auto retrigger recording after only 20 seconds or whatever else.

I have 4 mini cameras, my trial is ending. I purchased a sync module to keep going. However, the sync module is not showing the mini cameras. I read that it is because of my trial. Will the module take over when the trial ends?
I will like to add more outdoor cameras but on amazon it will not allow me to add a subscription due to my region (canada).
Thanks for the helpful tips. Just note that if you live outside the US or Canada you are unable to subscribe to their subscription plan. Nothing was mentioned in other UA-cam clips, ads or the like I had researched before the purchase. I only found out when I bought the camera. Probably I am the only dumb one here.

With all my bad experiences with Blink, I will NEVER EVERRR, turn anyone I love or care about to Blink. In my opinion & experiences, it's the worse. When watching live, and someone walks in the frame, it stops working. When on motion, it triggers when nothing is there, and when something passes, it doesn't catch & record. And the "2 year" battery lasts 2 months. Just telling my experience, and I have proof these things happen. But it's your choice if you wanna try it. I don't recommend it.

Not 100% sure if it misses in the video or if I really didnt see it, but I missed the explanation for the armed/disarmed switch. For most people it's function will be obvious.
To me it's the most important control that makes the difference between a usless gimmick that floods me with messages and records useless clips all day long, and a usefull system I can arm when i leave home and disarm when I am back.

Thanks so much for the video! It was really helpful watching you set yours up, but it would have been MORE helpful if you explained ALL of the settings, not just the ones you chose. So, for ex., what does "IR intensity" mean, and what would the "Early Notification" do if you had turned it on? Regardless, THANK YOU. If you happen to read your comments, I do have three questions: 1) if I have more than one camera, do I have to have a sync module? 2) Since you have those 139 saved videos, is that with a subscription, or do the cameras save videos in a list like that even without a subscription? 3) Lastly, when I went to set mine up the app was very insistent that I link it to my Amazon account - is that a good idea or just more unnecessary surveillance on their part?
The battery indicator is useless. Cant use them with a push, only by voice in almost all assistants. Even wyze works better. Shame on amazon for no interface updates since ages.

I have 2 Blink Outdoor cameras and just added the doorbell. I want the doorbell armed at all times but want to add schedules to the outdoor cameras. Seems like you should be able to add a schedule to an individual camera vs all of them on the same schedule. Hopefully that is something they will consider in future updates. Or am I missing something?
What can I do to help my outdoor camera get better signal to the module? I cant get my backyard camera to connect to the module do to the thickness of my walls and location of the module. But if i move the module closer then I will lose connection to the camera in my garage. Does blink make some sort of booster? Or would I need to buy a second module?

I believe the motion detector is good for around 20ft. Is that distance determined by the sensitivity adjustment?

I've had Blink cams for a couple years. They now require monthly subscription unless you use a memory stick. Blink is better than no cams at all but they are inferior, outdated technology. They sometimes record late, can only have short clips and short live view, etc. You can't trust the battery indicator which will say "ok" then suddenly the battery will go dead. The activity zones do not work well, you have to reduce the sensitivity then you might miss events. Other brands show battery charge by percentage. Other brands have better resolution like 4K, built in spotlights, siren, etc. You will get a lot of false alerts with Blink. Most other brands have AI person vehicle detection, pet detection. Blink used to have it's own community with a lot of users helping and commenting. Blink closed this site down and moved it to Amazon. Their customer service depends on who answers the questions. Some reps are competent, others might be new trainees or don't have a clue. I kept a couple Blinks installed, one in my garage, but most of my cams are now a different better brand. I recommend people watch a lot of UA-cam reviews of numerous brands before they buy.

HI there - thanks for the info - although you talked really fast, I stuck with it. Question - I tried to test the audio so I could talk to someone outside in the picture - I held down the talk button - and talked, but my husband said he didn't hear anything. Is there something else I need to do to activate that? Also, when I go to watch a clip, I have a real loud running noise in the background that is quite annoying...what can that be? Thanks so much! I don’t have a button a the top of the play screen to toggle between Cloud and Home. I have a Blink doorbell and then added the Sync Module 2 yesterday. It shows the Sync Module as on line and that it did a backup yesterday, but no way to play the vids from the module because there is no choice for Cloud vs Home. Got any ideas to fix this? The free 30 day cloud runs out in 22 days. Thx

@@beneiseoleinmheart5614 If it's blinking that typically means it's in pairing mode. If you want it off, you might be able to do that in the camera settings.

I just got this system and I love the idea of it, but what happens with my system is that once it misses a recording to the sync module 2, its done, I have to reset it or it will record nothing else until I do. I am trying to save money and not pay a monthly fee. I am going to take a wild guess and say its the fact that I am using the modem/router the cable company gave to me, I am hoping when I upgrade to a Mesh Wifi system it will stabilize.

This is literally the worst piece of worthless crrp I have ever bought.
Probably the most obvious thing that shows that the developers never even tested their device in real world usage, is nowhere on it is written the words "doorbell"... nobody knows it's a doorbell... and the screws included to install it... literally a 2 cent item... aren't self tapping, meaning you're more likely to stab the screwdriver through your fingers trying to install it than actually ever get it installed.
It does not have the range to be installed out by your driveway gate. More often than not, you're going to be recording tons of useless footage of yourself, and nobody else.
As soon as you see their plan break down you realize, yeah, you got bamboozled, this thing is grrbage. It should be doing half of that included in their full plan... by default forever. Cloud storage, ok no... you can charge for that... but the rest, yeah that's the point of buying the dmnn thing.
Trying to figure out why my wired camera won't pick up sensors on the module 2. When it was before. I'm not a subscriber to it due to its price hike. Front door is working but not the spare one

Just seeing this in my feed now so know it's a bit late but does anyone know if Blink lets you use a NVR to connect to them or maybe have a PC client software to record to your hard drive? Do they have a hard wire power connection as an option?

Is there a way to mark all videos "read" or seen? I know I can delete them all at once but I just want to read to remove the unseen videos number icon on app?
If you view the clip the yellow dot goes away so you can distinguish between those viewed and those not viewed.

I got water in my outside camera
What happens if your internet drops but your wifi is still up, do you lose that footage or will it resume upload once the internet is restored? Also, is it true you lose recording when live viewing/interfacing with your Doorbell/Camera if you choose Local storage?

@@plaguednight6513 you lose the footage, it's pretty sh*t for an actual security system. I installed 4 cameras around my mother's property for peace of mind. You can use a USB stick for local storage but the whole thing is lacking such as it doesn't record if you are viewing the camera.. so if something happens when talking to someone on the doorbell cam, you have no evidence of it..

@@plaguednight6513 I did have a quick look in to Ring, I hear they have pretty similar issues being cloud based devices, but I think the doorbell still records when viewing. However I know there is a massive 15-20 second delay when communicating with the doorbell. The price of 4 cameras is the same as a decent 4-channel CCTV system, so I would look in to that first and maybe a Blink Doorbell with free local storage for Smart Doorbell option and a proper CCTV system.
What nobody makes clear is that this camera cannot display a live stream for more than 60 seconds.
You get the option to extend.
The light on the camera that goes off is the blue light, the red light still stays on.
How do I stop screeching noise. One camera in living room. One in kitchen. When I open blink. In the room.. or. In in kitchen. View live on my phone it screened chess unbearable noise

Not the info I was looking for. Do you people never go away? Blink is useless in S. Cali where they have frequent power outages and you lose power. Blink has NEVER rebooted on it's own. You are then left with no security, if away.
How do you change the name of the camera so that the announcement on Alexa says the correct name? I have Blink Mini and a new Blink doorbell, both refuse to be renamed. I had originally named the Mini "Basement Camera", but then I decided to move it to the garage, so I went to the app and changed the name to " Garage ", and in the app, it renamed it, but Alexa tells me, " Motion detected on the Basement Camera ", and I can't change it. I even made sure it was changed on the Alexa app. No joy.
Now, same thing the doorbell. It says " Someone is at the Front door (very long serial number) " , which is very annoying. Can't change it.
I have the blink, outdoor camera, set to best quality, and when a vehicle pulled in my driveway, right in front of the camera, I can’t even see the license plate clearly
