I found one of the most useful "hands free" option with my smartwatch, is the 2FA OTP code notification. Don't have to pull out my smartphone. Do the notifications on the G1 show this?
Well…..the question to me mainly is what do I need like almost always „displayable“ ? It comes down to software and I haven’t seen much about that (except messaging, translation and navigation I guess). To me it‘s all about ‚information workflow‘. I would be interested in notetaking, tasklist, calendar, so I don‘t miss dates, reminders and tasks. I don‘t care as much about messages, for others it is mainly about exactly that. It comes down to what can be tuck into the glasses software ecosystem and the vendor would be clever to invest in cooperations and offer an API to tie into existing information sources of what the customer love.
Hey Spencer I preordered the G1 and loved the review, I think it's one of the most complete yet for how the glasses work and feel for everyday life. I was worried about ending up with buyer's regret but so far the glasses seem like a quite solid piece of hardware
Thanks a bunch! Yes, definitely a hard piece of tech to convey the experience to others. I think you’ll enjoy them. Well built and can only get more functional with user feedback!

I immediately thought the same thing about bone conduction headphones (coworkers have them and sit behind the ear similar to how these look), but people get REAL nervous about glasses with cameras.
These glasses are actually cheaper than a nice pair of regular glasses. A nice pair of Lindberg glasses (the company that designed the G1 frame) is around $1,200.- (this includes 2x $200.- Zeiss lenses).
Can you have the date time and weather always showing infront of you without raising your head? I don't know how many times I, or another team member, will lose track of a subject because of looking down at a phone, or fiddling with a smart watch, even briefly. This results in lost time, money, and frustration. A slight tip of the head while still being able to maintain your surroundings would be a godsend. As I wear glasses anyway why not minmax my tool set?
I'm interested in these for giving public talks. I'm not interested in reading a script, but I am interested in having notes or a text version of "slides" from powerpoint or google slides . Does the AI "scrolling" also work with you speaking based on notes rather than reading a script?

Hey Spencer thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts, these certainly seem pretty cool and I can't wait to get mine! Got a question for you. Can you select which apps you get notifications for or are the glasses just sending every notification your phone gets over to the glasses? Thanks!

Okay now imagine they do a collaboration with the smart ring concept and they just do a combo of both we probably could put our real life data on the glasses we could feel like we are in a video game with a leveling system and goals !!!!
Great review. The only thing I wished these had is audio (To listen to music, take calls and get voice responce from the ai). I understand why they didnt do it because of battery life and the thin styling. But as soon as that tech is in there, it will be a day 1 purchase from me.
@@SpencerScottPugh as a nurse that would probably be the most important feature is telling me when to do certain tasks at certain times. It’s sort of a deal breaker at the moment. I emailed the company and their thoughts of implementing this soon. Thanks for the response!!
Great review - am excited about these, but one question that hopefully you could answer? The larger section of the legs (right at the end, which tucks behind your ear). How much space is there between that large section and the back/top of your ear? I wear hearing aids, and I’m worried that it will be impossible/uncomfortable to wear them (receiver-in-canal style, which means there is a small device that perches behind by ear at the top) with glasses such as this…
This is a hard one to answer as everyone’s head shapes and sizes are different… with my head personally there would be enough space for the hearing aid. Might be something you’d have to order and try and send back if it doesn’t fit, sadly. Or see if anyone near you has some you could try!
Great review! 👍 I'm really interested in the transcription feature of the Even Realities G1 AR glasses, particularly how it works for live captioning in English. We're considering these glasses for someone who is hard of hearing, and the ability to see live captions would be incredibly helpful. Could you explain how the glasses handle this? I think you might need to use the translation feature and select English so that spoken English is directly transcribed into captions. I'd love to hear more details about how well this works in practice. Thanks!
I think it’s a great use case. Yes, you have to select English translated to English. You only get a certain number of minutes of pro translation each month, and you have to start the “engagement” in app
@@SpencerScottPugh Thank you for your reply! I just wanted to clarify a couple of things. When you mention that we only get a certain number of minutes of pro translation, what exactly does that mean? And what is the engagement option? I'm not familiar with these terms, so I’d appreciate any further explanation. If someone wants to use the live captioning feature throughout the day every day, will it not work after a certain point? Do we need to pay extra for the transcription feature to keep working? It would be really helpful if you could explain how this works.
@SpencerScottPugh Since there's not microphone in them, do you have to have your phone out between you and the person you're speaking to in order of it to hear the other person to have their words translated? Curious how phone placement and surrounding noise levels affect the quality of the transcription. Also curious about the speed of the translation. Thanks!
I also had a question about the notes, can I dictate a note and will it stay permanent in my vision when Iook up? How do I go through the notes with just the glasses? Thx!
Yes, the last 4 things you make notes on are able to be flipped through on the glasses. You can also go though the app and see all your notes and move them to the pinned section manually as well.
Great video 👍 will wait for colour screen as this don’t replace my spare watch for showing my texts and queries etc.. Also having to do a dramatic look up seems odd but guess could become normal after time such as holding your arm out to view your watch has. I’d like to have sound in down the line as well for podcasts and audiobooks etc I’m excited where we are going with these and look forward to more of your content mate
Do you really want a colour screen though? Green HUD was chosen because of its clarity. I don’t want to be wearing a mobile phone with images flashing up as I go about my business. The secret sauce is simplicity, seamlessly integrating tech into our every day life without becoming too big a distraction. This is why I like the idea of head movements triggering the HUD. Maybe a camera feature could be added later if it doesn’t add too much bulk. This could be useful when combined with AI.
I'm only interested in "Vision clarity merges with ergonomics and digital functionality." Which is a huge thing for me yet i didn't find any video explaining that. Not interested in any tech part but only that. Can you explain if it's worth?
Ray-Ban Meta glasses are great. This Even Realities G1 seems great. Both in their different way, but I think there needs to be glasses with both combined. I like the way Even Realities has made AR, instead of goofy big ecosystem goggles. Both the G1 and the Meta glasses at least look like normal glasses and let you use them as normal glasses too, even with prescription lenses. I think this is an excellent opportunity for Samsung to blow away both Apple and Meta, if only someone could tell them.
I'd like to know more about 2 aspects that are on the current model. 1) One of the reasons I hesitate to purchase/pre-order these was because of the translation feature remains unclear. How well does it translate? Accuracy? Speed of translation? Does it still require to look slightly up to see the translated text? And, most of all, on their site they note on their translation section, that "charges may apply based on usage". I'd prefer not to have to pay a subscription fee to translate Japanese to English. But they don't really clarify it on their site. 2) Do they plan to solve the water/dust weakness? Because I work with flour and oil daily, I often clean my glasses by running it under a spout and using weak/mild soap to get them pristine. Doing so prevents the micro scratches that using only a fiber cloth without water would cause....and, obviously, soap makes the oil come off a lot easier.
Just got mine. The translation mode has a free and paid tier. Trying both the paid tier is actually very fast, 2-3 seconds to translate pretty accurately ( tried Spanish with a friend) the free tier is slower by like 5 seconds and not as precise. Both will display in real time right in front of you but if your talking back with the person it will get confused and try and translate you too😂 I don’t have any experience for the water or dust proof yet, I have been babying them for now
@@astronomypunkI feel like either of those times is still extremely slow compared to what a leading model like GPT 4o advertised, with real-time translation in the millisecond range, which provides natural conversation capabilities. You can try that with the iOS app's voice capabilities.
i kind of regret not pre ordering them. But at the same time i do need more functionality that currently is not there. i need to be able to customize what i see in the screen. Live Tasker values or whole live feed app data.
This is probably a stupid question but...the clock on the dashboard can display a 12 hour clock, right? In the preview videos I've seen, it's only been a 24 hour format
Say did you tested the notifications feature ? Does it supports slack notifications ? Also I wonder if it supports multi lingual notifications (for example WhatsApp notification in German ) ? I have a pair of G1 competitor - inmo go - it’s works fine except non English notifications will be shown as ???? And the nav feature socks
Yes. You can choose which notifications you want to display. I have my work slack messages come through. I’m assuming since there are translation features it would show multilingual notifications.
Could you tell me how well the teleprompter mode works? I am a public speaker and I think it would be so cool to not have to have paper notes if the prompter mode works well
Great review. Keep waiting for the Apple Glasses but this might be a temp solution. I have the Rayban Metas but they are way too heavy for all day wear. Really do need audio though. Calls/talk which this doesn’t seem to support. Also not clear how this integrates with all my iOS apps and services. I would love to actually see video of the entire experience and not just generic descriptions…
@@SpencerScottPugh thank you for the response!! i was really worried about that thing digging into my head or something since i wear my over ears constantly lol

@@SpencerScottPugh i cant really see the difference between low standard and high 😂😂 nor even if I reset the headup settings. Not sure what went wrong but the dashboard is always on when i look ahead normally even without raising my head up
It's hard to tell, but I can't say that it'll for sure not be seen. There are certain angles that you can get a glimpse of something, but I don't think it's large enough to see that you're reading from something. That would be an interesting test. Thanks for watching!
How was the translation feature. Sometimes I wanna just set it to English and use it as subtitles when I can’t hear people. 😂 Thoughts or comments? It’s the whole reason why I would consider buying them. Since my GF’s family speaks another language and I can sometimes not hear or understand what my friends are telling me in person 😅
That's a great use case. I found it to be a lot quicker than I thought it would be actually. Lags here and there but nothing crazy. Would be interested to see someone use it in a different country or something to get around without knowing the native language!
in telepromter mode can you tap the glasses to go to the next page, Im thinking of giging and some songs would be great to have some of the lyrics on telepromter mode but i wouldnt want to get my phone out to go to the next song say. Very niche use case i know but wondering if this is possible
What questions do you have specifically about it? I do like that normally it shows the route with turns coming up, but when you raise your head it shows your progress across the whole map!
@@SpencerScottPugh I am curious how well routes show up on just a monochrome display. It would be nice to be able to easily use navigation while walking in cities without people knowing I am using it.
I read comments in another review that navigation is not available while driving. But I can info to confirm that. Is navigation available only while walking? Or can it be used in a moving vehicle? Thanks.
Great review. If you were in a dark room, say, in movie theatre, would people notice the green light emitting from the lenses? Would it cause a distraction or get you kicked out of a show?? I ordered mine earlier this month and am looking forward to testing out some of the features. I’m just weary on where I’ll be able to use them without getting people annoyed by them
You can always silence them if need be. That said, you can dim them pretty well especially with auto mode on. Def worth a test next time you’re at the cinema with them, and just triple tap to silence them if it’s too bright!

What support does the manufacturer give regarding broken lenses and cracked frames? Are there purchasable replacement frames or lenses, or do I have to ship it back and wait a month for repair? Is the “screen” on the eye side or the exterior side? I’d be worried that they’d fall off or get scratched and then we lose functionality.
Good questions. I know they have answers to your first questions on the website (I’m not sure of that process to be honest) as for the projector unit, it is housed on the temple area and shines across (no idea how - it’s awesome!) so the area where the image gets displayed is in between two layers of glass it seems - or it is somehow incorporated in the actual lens.

I’d like to have sound in down the line as well for podcasts and audiobooks etc
I’m excited where we are going with these and look forward to more of your content mate
I appreciate you! Yes, this kinda tech for sure gets me excited for the future. Lots going on here, but for sure more coming.
@anastasiawhite7482 good points! 🤘
Thank you for the info
It does look cool but what we need them for is a bit less obvious
I'm only interested in "Vision clarity merges with
ergonomics and digital functionality." Which is a huge thing for me yet i didn't find any video explaining that. Not interested in any tech part but only that. Can you explain if it's worth?
Still expensive to Brazil. Hope they can make it with better cost
please review the teleprompter feature
Can u scroll by touch?
Taps only!
Both will display in real time right in front of you but if your talking back with the person it will get confused and try and translate you too😂
I don’t have any experience for the water or dust proof yet, I have been babying them for now
@@astronomypunkI feel like either of those times is still extremely slow compared to what a leading model like GPT 4o advertised, with real-time translation in the millisecond range, which provides natural conversation capabilities. You can try that with the iOS app's voice capabilities.
Can this help in clear my exam bro...?
😂😂😂 probably
Love this product. What about the AI feature? Is it available yet ?
Sure is! I show it very briefly. Works decently well!
Any discount codes for early adopters?
I wish! I tried 🤘
could you give us a update and second test, after the first updates please :)
i kind of regret not pre ordering them. But at the same time i do need more functionality that currently is not there. i need to be able to customize what i see in the screen. Live Tasker values or whole live feed app data.
Safe bet to wait for a bit if you need more functionality
You can pipe tasker stuff to it through notification
@@akeluify thought to do this but getting a notification every second beats the purpose. I need to look at live data
Is the glasses waterproof? Mine need to be washed from time to time due to the dust and little oil spot.
I’m sure very slightly… have t seen anything about that though
@@SpencerScottPugh thanks for the update
This is probably a stupid question but...the clock on the dashboard can display a 12 hour clock, right? In the preview videos I've seen, it's only been a 24 hour format
I think so… I just have all my devices on 24hr!
You can change it in the app
Any way to stay up to date with new updates, roadmap, feature requests, etc?
Say did you tested the notifications feature ? Does it supports slack notifications ?
Also I wonder if it supports multi lingual notifications (for example WhatsApp notification in German ) ?
I have a pair of G1 competitor - inmo go - it’s works fine except non English notifications will be shown as ???? And the nav feature socks
Yes. You can choose which notifications you want to display. I have my work slack messages come through. I’m assuming since there are translation features it would show multilingual notifications.
Is the screen fixed to the world or the lenses? Like if I turn my head a little does it move or stay still?
Fixed to lenses
Does the text stuff work when you whisper for example, or how loud do you need to be?
Good question. Probably in a quieter setting mics are at temple and point down
Can these translate signs/words in real time?
Words yes
Can I get them in my prescription?
Yeah I checked their website and you can adjust it to your prescription when ordering
Is this available on other countries like the Philippines?
Not sure! Try checking out in store!
Could you tell me how well the teleprompter mode works? I am a public speaker and I think it would be so cool to not have to have paper notes if the prompter mode works well
Can I read a text like pdf or other type? like I wanna pretend I am reading from my head but actually reading from the glasses I am a public speaker
You and me both!
To follow up - I ordered my pair. But apparently 4-5 weeks for delivery?? Disappointing. We are all very spoiled with Amazon SAME DAY now…
Can they re-text and answer questions?
cant reply to texts currently but yes AI answers inquiries
usually one size fits all frames are not that. hopefully they will come with larger and smaller sizes later on.
I do think this is model A and they are already deep in development on model B 🙌🏻
hows the comfortability with over ear headphones? im wondering if it would be uncomfortable because of how large the touchpads are
I used Sony over ears and found it quite nice actually. Maybe because Sony has soft pads!
@@SpencerScottPugh thank you for the response!! i was really worried about that thing digging into my head or something since i wear my over ears constantly lol
Does the teleprompter feature work well? And how does it come across to the audience?
Really well actually… think you may look a teeny bit cross eyed since the words will be floating about 6 feet away. Maybe in a small conference room?
@@SpencerScottPughgreat review! Can you do a video on this one feature. I ordered these and I want to use these on several keynote events I have around the world. Maybe ask the company to see when mine ship out😊
@HarveyCastroMD I’m sure you’d make great use of the teleprompter !
@@SpencerScottPugh😊 are you in the USA ?
@HarveyCastroMD yessir!
Do u find the dashboard always floating in front of u normally? (thought it only comes on when u raise your head?)
Correct only when you raise your head. However you can adjust how high you need to raise your head
@@SpencerScottPugh i cant really see the difference between low standard and high 😂😂 nor even if I reset the headup settings. Not sure what went wrong but the dashboard is always on when i look ahead normally even without raising my head up
Got it finally, amazing piece of tech!
I’m 50 and need varifocals, hopefully tech will bring varifocal options soon.
Hope so! 🙌🏻
do strangers can see that you reading from teleprompter even with lower setting of brightness, can i use at work or presentation get away with it
It's hard to tell, but I can't say that it'll for sure not be seen. There are certain angles that you can get a glimpse of something, but I don't think it's large enough to see that you're reading from something. That would be an interesting test. Thanks for watching!
How was the translation feature. Sometimes I wanna just set it to English and use it as subtitles when I can’t hear people. 😂
Thoughts or comments? It’s the whole reason why I would consider buying them. Since my GF’s family speaks another language and I can sometimes not hear or understand what my friends are telling me in person 😅
That's a great use case. I found it to be a lot quicker than I thought it would be actually. Lags here and there but nothing crazy. Would be interested to see someone use it in a different country or something to get around without knowing the native language!
@@SpencerScottPugh still worth investing into it then? 👀👀
definitely would get a pair to try and see how it works for you, if you have that cash to spend.
@@SpencerScottPughI hope I get mine before I travel to Japan and Taiwan
@@philipkamhi that would be so sick to have real time translations while exploring 😍
Is it possibile to change prescription lenses and stil can see the screens?
What do you mean? Like, if your eyes change over time?
@@SpencerScottPugh yes if I want to change
Not sure the specifics there. Might have to send them back in for that!
in telepromter mode can you tap the glasses to go to the next page, Im thinking of giging and some songs would be great to have some of the lyrics on telepromter mode but i wouldnt want to get my phone out to go to the next song say. Very niche use case i know but wondering if this is possible
Hmmm… not sure that would really work here. Hello from a fellow musician 👋🏻
@@SpencerScottPugh Shame maybe in V2. thanks for the great review
@@hiltonjon7454 thanks brother!
What languages are possibile to translate? I am wondering about Polish language. Is it available?
I don’t currently see polish as an option. They will most definitely be expanding their list.
Quick notes is great feature you should have explained it in more details
Neat for sure. I like how it summarizes via ai!
I am all for them, but they are only prescription for near sighted. I would have bought these already if you could get them for far sighted.
Interesting!
If I go to pick out glasses at my optician they will cost about the same, so for that reason this excites me
Seriously! That’s my biggest promotion of these. If you need glasses for normal use, buy these and have some tech as well haha
Can the glass display non-English languages that are written from right to left?
Can you see your music/what is playing?
Not currently
I placed an order 8/8 yet to ship or even give an estimate of time. Not off to a good start!
There’s a Reddit I was made aware of today where folks are chatting about updates and orders. Maybe check there??
@@SpencerScottPugh just got email saying 3-5 weeks.
@pspro51 let’s go! 🙌🏻
product quality is really impressive. reminds me of apple?
100% really intentional
Please try out the navigation and let us know what you think
What questions do you have specifically about it? I do like that normally it shows the route with turns coming up, but when you raise your head it shows your progress across the whole map!
@@SpencerScottPugh I am curious how well routes show up on just a monochrome display. It would be nice to be able to easily use navigation while walking in cities without people knowing I am using it.
That is legit the best possible use case. I say go for it. Walking is the best use case in my opinion. Getting around a city. 👌
I read comments in another review that navigation is not available while driving. But I can info to confirm that. Is navigation available only while walking? Or can it be used in a moving vehicle? Thanks.
"Flavorful" = tasteful in Spencerland... :)
lol 😆
I wish I wasn’t so blind they can not put my prescriptions on these glasses, might try contacts tohelp
Could maybe work!
Has anyone seen a video where they do live translation?
I did a tiny sample in mine. But hard to show any length of conversation. Maybe another reviewer has figured that out!
Major fallout vibes from this. Even down to the HUD design
Haha right!?
Great review. If you were in a dark room, say, in movie theatre, would people notice the green light emitting from the lenses? Would it cause a distraction or get you kicked out of a show?? I ordered mine earlier this month and am looking forward to testing out some of the features. I’m just weary on where I’ll be able to use them without getting people annoyed by them
You can always silence them if need be. That said, you can dim them pretty well especially with auto mode on. Def worth a test next time you’re at the cinema with them, and just triple tap to silence them if it’s too bright!

Not a huge fan of the design but I’d love to try em out!
@@SpencerScottPugh You're right. But compare to TCL RayNeo X2 or INMO Air 2 which are huge, those ones are wearable and most o fit the charge goes for near a week long with a normal use.
@@PACotnoir1 that’s awesome! I’m excited for VISION as well!
Nobody mentioning Brilliant Labs’ Frame ?
I’ve chatted with their CEO a bit on linked in. Might review a pair at some point!
I am a public speaker and I think this would really be awesome to get. Can you go in great detail displaying the teleprompter portion of these glasses
Must launch it from the app. It listens while you read and auto scrolls. Not bad, but haven’t truly used it for tele-prompting in public or a zoom call
Can they play music thru Bluetooth?
Nope! No speaker
I am investing in this I need that 4..0🤣
😂😂😂
This is what google glass wanted to be
Can these Live translate, listen and respond back
There is no speaker but you can see the live translation via text
