In the meantime Xreal released the brandnew "Beam Pro" hardware which allows any Xreal glasses to be powered by it ( and not only a few from the smartphone compatibility list ) for the full feature use. May be you can do an update video about those features too ? That would be great !

I meannn, I'm also a "simple techie" myself. I teach and I've taught myself sooo much in the past 2-3 years. I mean, I don't know absolutely everything, but i do know A LOT. I'm about a year of being on and off teaching myself how to diagnose and repair circuit boards and how to fix laptops and other pc boards that have shorted out somewhere or died due to liquid damage. I'm roughly a year into teaching myself that stuff now. However, since that was totally off topic I do want to apologize, lol. I didn't mean to veer that far off topic, lol. Back to the topic..
I don't think any AR glasses have a 4k resolution option. I could be wrong but all the ones I've been looking at have only maxed out at 1080p FHD resolutions. Soo, if you're interested in the glasses but also want 1440p resolutions, you might have a harder time finding them if they are made. And if they are, they will probably be 2-3 times more expensive than the 1080p FHD AR glasses. But, I'm curious to know if you can find any 1440p and how much they are going for. If you don't mind getting back to me and letting me know, I'd really appreciate it bud. And again, I apologize about the long comment and veering super far off topic, lol.

I agree. I have tried all 3. Viture - liked the color reproduction and the electrochromatic dimming and the accessories (dock and neckband), didn't like the weak speakers and smaller display and no light blockers. Rokid - liked the bigger display and the speakers, didn't like the very dark contrast of the display. Xreal - liked the color reproduction, screen size, electrochromatic dimming, and speakers, didn't like the accessories or no built in diopters. The Xreal had the most pros and least cons for me. I might just pick up the Rokid Station 2 since the Xbeam is so half baked.

I'm interested in AR glasses for use in viewing an active spectrogram while conversing with another person. The spectrogram is a continuous real time video of audio information, specifically frequency versus time. Spoken words are picked up and processed into the video by a separate device and the video would be streamed from the device to the glasses. In the video many words and phrases appear as recognizable shapes - so viewing the video can be of immense benefit to the hearing impaired. The advantages of the spectrogram video over speech-to-text is
    1) low latency (

It really was awesome to get to see into their lives and struggles into things we don't even think about. I still use it and taught my kids just in case they need it. So many people never bother to learn it while we have people out here needing it.

be warned my Rokid Max showed heavy burn-in after less than a year and regular usage. Also their service played around with me and is very bad.
They repeatedly wanted me, four times, to try filming the displays of the glasses, the wiring, and the display of my computer in various ways with different background images, only to then inform me that the warranty had expired ten days ago.
They offered to send the glasses to China at my own expense, which would be higher than the purchase price.

Agreeing with you, we're not quite _There_ yet, with this technology. The promise it holds is fantastic, though. I wanted so much to want to keep the xreals that I bought for Black Friday, but it just was not to beeee.
I have a question for you: Around 19:45 you show the underbelly of the xreals, and from that we can clearly see the circular rings that surround the OLED display. In my experience, I just kept noticing those rings in my periphery, over and over again. How did Rokkid and Viture fare, with regards to distracting architecture in the periphery?

I bought in to the nreal pro back before they changed their name to xreal. While they work great for gaming, especially on my steam deck, i have had some major issues with them that i haven't been able to find if they were fixed on the pro 2. For example, Burn in is a major issue if you use it on your PC as a monitor substitute, all my icons in my windows bar have been burned into my display. Also because the light is partially reflected to allow it to be see through, the image is noticable darker making dark games near impossible to play if they dont have some form of gamma correction.

I ordered both the xreal 2 pro and Viture to compare. I really wanted to like the Viture but I found what was said in the video is very accurate from my use. The xreal was significantly better when gaming it’s not even close and the screen size makes a huge difference. For reference i lined both up with my 75 in TV . The Viture seemed about 10 inches bigger but for xreal it appeared about 30 or 40 in bigger which makes watching and reading anything much more comfortable. The difference I noticed from the video was Viture’s colors were more accurate at least when comparing to my Lenovo legion go screen. With the better colors on Viture watching something like Dune looked better.

The question I have is whether I can use the glasses or the Beam bundle to support my work from home. I have a work laptop that is designated specifically for work, is a Dell, and I use Microsoft applications within it.
I have three displays I use at home because I am constantly processing a lot of data and need more than just one or two open at a time.
What I would like to know is whether or not the X Real Pro 2 is capable of immersing myself in this same type of workspace through my computer with three virtual displays that I can bounce between... or if the Beam Pro is required to do so.
Thank you for anyone's input on this!!!
If there are other glasses you recommend that would work better for my scenario please I welcome any recommendations!!

Seems like Xreal Air 2 has a smaller eyebox (sweet spot), so if your IPD or face shape isn't right, it's less forgiving. In my case, both Xreal Air 2 & Rokid Max have blurry edges, presumably mostly due to my IPD being ~70mm, but maybe also due to my face shape (prominent nose bridge).
I was able to reproduce funny polarization on both glasses as well, but I don't see it being an issue in day-to-day use, but I could see it being annoying for others.

@@PhotoJohn80 Your IPD is probably closer to what these glasses are designed for than mine, hopefully you'll love one of them! I finally decided to try the Viture One, hopefully will have it by tomorrow.
Also trying to pick up a used XREAL Air 1, as I'm curious to compare the two for myself, it seems like there are more people (than not) claiming the smaller optics are a visual downgrade (presumably due to the smaller / less forgiving eyebox), but it's always hard to know whether that's because those people are more likely to post frequently about it... There are clearly some things that are better about the XREAL Air 2, e.g. slightly newer Sony display (better color fidelity, brightness, smaller display allows some size reduction), better temple tips (more flex, less likely to squeeze head uncomfortably).

If i had no eyelash and don't use nose support at all and put the glass closest to my eye I could see entire screen clearly. I wanted other people with shorter eyelashes to try it, but same result. With any of these, does it feel like there's a giant screen slapped in front of your face (the same way you can put your phone display close to your eyes) or does it feel natural? Asking to get an idea how focusing works with them, does it strain the eyes or does it feel like focusing your eyes in real life

    • @RawansReviews

It feels surprisingly more natural than not. Definitely not a sensation of slapping a giant screen in front of your face like putting your phone close to your eyes. While not quite exactly like sitting in a movie theater, but pretty close, especially if you're in a dark room! Definitely would have a 'wow' effect the first time you try them on.

Nice and detailed review, many thanks for that. I've been meaning to get the Air 2 Pro but what held me back is the device support. I'm using Galaxy Tab A9 (7inch) and it doesn't have Type C displayport meaning if I want to use the glasses I will need a new device that supports it which is kinda sucks. My use case scenario is to read my books from the tab and once in a while gaming on steam deck and while gaming should be a non issue I still can't justify the fact that not all my devices supports it.

Wonderful and compressive review, I think I might go for the XReal Air 1 instead of 2 Pro.
Like you said, the tech is still not there, so in 3-5 years there might be something much better and with higher resolution and immersion, and if you dont own anything right now, and dont have tons of money, getting the Air 1 seems like a decent compromise to everything.
If was to compare this with the Meta Quest 3, would those be better for watching stuff on the go? I feel VR googles are too big for that, and these glasses being more discrete would suffice for media consumption.

Outstanding comparison, my friend. Well organised, cogent, pragmatic, and superbly delivered assessment. In addition, you paid for these glasses, so there is a lack of bias. Thank you. Subscribed! Personally, it's the Xreal. I have only a minor issue with distance sight. At 57, the issue is reading text etc. I also have a larger head. The dilemas are two fold: Firstly, with the pace of development, the next 'version' could make big improvements, but there again, one has to pull the trigger at some point. It's the same with all technology. My intention would be to use the glasses with an OLED Steam Deck. Secondly, my actual need for them. A great little gadget, but for casual gaming the Deck on it's own plus the ability to connect to a big television with ease makes the glasses more of a want than a need. I guess it is down to how you intend to use them and the context you will use them in.
Regardless, I can only have this clarity as a result of your rarional and practical review, which is devoid of hype and constant references to everything being "cool" or "awesome". There is a post on Reddit which refers to the tendancy for some reviewers to massage the caperbilities of such products. On balance I will save the considerable outlay for the Air Pro 2's (about £500 quid without the beam) for something more productive' at this time. Its a heck of a lot to spend on a gadget and I can live without the FOMO. Best wishes, Paul.

Im also wearing glasses around 550 to 650 degrees. And actually planning to use it for my commute to work on train or buses. Would you say its possible that i can say watch a movie while walking on the streets and still be sort of aware of the place im walking ,at least not to bump into people or a pole. Not sure if the beam is needed. Since im probably gonna use it with my phone which is a compatible phone with the app and my windows laptop , hoping to use with 2 screen projection. Would like to see what is your say. Oh as well as battery, since i notice only rokid have an adaptor that can charge and plug in the cable at the same time. Not sure if xreal have a similar thing or i could just but rokid adaptor to use it on xreal.

    • @RawansReviews
      @RawansReviews  Рік тому +6

If you want situational awareness while watching, I'd recommend getting the beam. One of the modes is side view, which lets you shrink the screen size and put it in 1 of 4 corners. Smooth follow might also come in handy if you're moving, and you can then manually shrink the size of the screen as well. If you're using the beam with your phone, you can't charge as you use. But others have had success with the Viture adapter that allows you to charge while watching--so could be helpful to look into that.

At the time the the original airs were $299 so I went with those and was not disappointed. I use mine mostly for gaming and sometimes to watch youtube from my phone. The dex mode on my Samsung phone is the best way to use them to use the phone as a track pad. You can also screen mirror but I don't see much use for that. There is actually a sibe by side mode on the airs to watch 3d movies but I think the nebula app is the best way to watch 3d movies. • @RawansReviews
      @RawansReviews  4 місяці тому

I see the logic, but the practice is different. I'm no physicist so can't comment on the physics behind that, but could be that there's a slight lag between your head motion and the screen motion, causing that disturbance. Could also be that the glasses themselves shift and move slightly with such abrupt movements as well. Either way, without knowing the scientific reasons behind it, I can confirm that there is difference in sensation when experiencing AR glasses on a plane or in a moving car, with some form of motion stabilization or smoothing (like what the Beam gives), vs natively without any of that.

Also, Nebula on PC takes a lot of computing power, works ok on my laptop i9 3080Ti with 32GB ram not sure with other lower spec PC. Its a gimmick for productivity since you're only looking into a big box and everything outside it is blacked out like this review pointed out. In the end I just used the 49" monitor I already have. I got the Xreal Air 2 Pro w/ Beam and don't think it's there yet, returning it back for full refund. Thanks for the review.

The problem with tracking is not the sensor, it is the graphics chips needed project the video in a different rotation

can you watch vr 180 degree videos on these and have almost same feeling as a VR?

AR glasses are definitely not as immersive as VR goggles. You still see a lot of the real world with AR glasses, whereas VR goggles completely immerse you in a "new" virtual world.

@@RawansReviews Thank you. Lets take an example of pyramid 180 degree view video. Does Ar glass gonna cover the whole screen like vr but will be more static ? but what about people and objects will they move or be static?
