Put the amp on a dyno.
Give it a 1 ohm load not a sub in a box
    Test at 10hz
    Now test at 45hz
Now did you get the same power at both frequencies or did it give more to one more than another 🤔 that is a better test .

If you let me $5,000 for that dyno, I'll do the test. 😜 But seriously, my tests are for the average guys, to imitate real world setups. Big Dee Wiz has already proved the amp does rated power, I'm just trying to simplify a few things for the community.

@@christopherparis6841 It is hard to figure out if EMF is purposely measuring incorrectly in an effort to decieve or if he genuinely doesn't know how to measure. First of all, it should be known that a DMM does not measure peak to peak voltage of a sinewave. It measures an average. For instance, US households have 120v AC 60Hz sinewave from the outlets. This is what you see with a DMM. If you measure with an oscilloscope you will see that its 170v peak to peak. Surely EMF owns an oscilloscope, even a cheap $150 one. Secondly, he is not even loading down the amps with a resistive load. This obviously effects their output. He could surely afford $150 for 4 x 4ohm 1000 watt dummy loads to create a 1 ohm resistive load.
Third, in your opinion, is he performing an unbiased test to help people understand and educate them or is it more a marketing thing to promote the amps he sells and just coincidently happens to use in the video while at the same time trying to dissuade users from buying one of the most popular sub amps on the market?
You have to think about all these factors.
Personally, I'm wondering if he found a quirk between the way a full bridge and a half bridge amp outputs rms voltage when no load is attached and chose to exploit that. I don't want to think of EMF as being deceptive, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt and say he just doesn't know what he's doing.

How did you confirm that? Just curious- a sound engineer told me the same power at 20 hz will be much less loud than the exact same power at 40 hz. He's had no DSP in none of his setups. It is all in the preamp circuit, and the fair comparison would be to use a DSP on both. All a full bridge is, is 2 amps strapped and sharing the same power supply section. What you said is my single amp per sub hit the lows better than when I strapped them. For the price difference buy 6 DSPs.

@@commonsenseisdeadin2024 that dosen't make any cents! Literally you can't buy anything with that comment! First off if both designs can be fairly compared with a dsp wouldn't it also be a fair comparison without 🤔? Probably more so without then with due to the fact a dsp is an addition that doesn't come with either amp! As for the amps differences not only is that subject to just the full bridge design being un strappable! Surely you've noticed all no full bridge design amp has a lpf of 35hz like half bridge designs. My question is why, and is that not a difference 🤔? Explain that! Either you, anyone else, or most certainly the guy who channel this is. Explain why full bridge designs don't come with bass knobs 🤔! In fact these two designs may have more differences than meets the eye, but they'll never be noticed unless a shade tree engineer like barevid or this guy points them out on UA-cam. Bits and pieces of misinformation not thoroughly researched is what followers understand! Give a dog and he'll find his way home. So trying to reason why one is better then the other. That is opinionated, but what's not are the facts. In some applications maybe the half bridge is better 🤔, and in others maybe not. But we'll never know this depending on others to bring forth an answer to our question without putting work in ourselves.

    • @commonsenseisdeadin2024
      @commonsenseisdeadin2024 2 роки тому +1

@c20 np143 no because the difference is in the preamp circuit and "Brazilian" amps are manufactured to meet their music scene there really is no straight comparison as they are 2 different amps, created in 2 different parts of the world, designed for 2 different music cultures.
Taramps Bass has lower than 35hz. There is full bridge amps with bass knobs.
There is amps that do have built in DSPs and i get that yours do not. What are the 2 amps you have? What drivers and whats tunning at?
Full bridge is strapped inside the amplifier as i had previously said.
You are summing full bridge in with "Brazilian", The Brazilian manufacturers did not come up with full bridge topology. Again all that is in the preamp section so run a DSP and get a RCA "bass knob" and all your questions will be resolved. There's your answers and solutions.
It all depends on more than just the amp.
What's better is what one performs the task at what you are trying to achieve, What fits your budget, what fits physically into the allowed area.

It should go without saying when playing that low on a Brazilian amp it takes absolutely massive amounts of power to keep it even close to rms. I've seen 650 amp plus at full volume. Highest I've seen thus far was 674 amps at 15hz. So It goes without saying that if you run this much power you need to supply it. I only have 2 370 amp alts and 6 ultracaps. So far though been holding pretty well. Besides the 8k Brazilian I also have 2 Brazilian 3ks and 2 kicker 400.4 for mids and highs.

Amplifier end of the frequesncy bandwidth is the frequency at which, as impedence that stays the same, is the freq at which is the 3db downpoint of power.output.
Same idea as speaker frequency downpoint. A mid range speaker can that has a 200hz to 5khz bandwidth, will play above and below those frequencies. Just not well or efficently, playing lower may damage the speaker.

You need to hook up a voltmeter in parallel with your subwoofers so you can measure you voltage drop. An alternator and a good battery, like XS Power, are going to be around same price so i'd go with an alternator next but you need know what your voltage looks like under heavy bass. That's how I determine how far I need to take my electrical upgrades. You didn't mention doing the big 3 which is a requirement at that much power but nobody can give you a perfect answer. You just need to look at your voltage. If it's dropping below 12 volts while the engine is on under heavy bass for sure you need to upgrade something. When I play a 40 hz test tone at full volume right before clipping I might see 13.2v on my voltage meter. I'm okay with that. With music, the lowest it drops is from 14.4v to maybe 13.7volts.

The manual states it’s 3db down at 10hz and 10khz.
So a better test would likely have been a resistive load and monitor the output voltage from the amp during a sweep , or up the scale at frequency increments. So we can actually see how much quieter it played at its lowest and highest capable frequencies.
    Down 3db is a lot , but it’s not “won’t play 10hz”

I’m have no clue if what “the people” claim is true, but the point is that the output at those low frequencies are lower than for example 50hz. Like for example, a subwoofer amp set to 80hz LPF will still move a speaker with a 130hz test tone. Frequency response generally means the flat area. So like using an electrical RTA would show the frequency response.

All amps will play all frequencies. All an amp is, is an amplification of the signal it receives. I have two JL 1200/1v3 and it says it's response is 5hz and up, but I can still play 1hz. I have a JBL Crown BPx2200.1, and it plays 1hz. My factory speakers play 1hz. People take the specs literal, but don't understand it's a market thing, and all that matters is the build quality of the equipment. Tuning is what gets you what you want to hear. What I will say is, Taramps isn't the best equipment for bass at all, and is generic. In Brazil, they don't play the lows and hard decaf bass remixes like we listen to, so they don't care much about 10hz, or 5hz. Taramps design is based around PA style setups. So I understand the misconception. It's cheap, but a lot of power, and needs specifics for it to function properly for what most of us want. Taramps design is pushed to its limit with its components which is why they don't last long under stress. About 80-90 percent of amps are all the same, but with different components, except JL, Rockford, JbL, Alpine, MTX, and a few others. Companies like the ones I named are designed in house and, or outsourced built, and to their specifications for our world and audio scene. Which is why you don't see Sundown in Europe, or JL in Europe, and if you do, it was expensive as heck.Thats what I will say, but for the cost, it's worth it, with the correct install, will get you good numbers, and you will be happy with a Taramps purchase.

Sorry, I got pulled back to this video because of a separate conversation, and ended up seeing your comment, and felt the need to make some clarifications, since you're obviously misguided about some things...
      1) "All amps will play all frequencies".
Untrue, and by a mile. Many amps on the market are designed specifically to play only frequencies consisting of "mid-bass" and below. I could go on, but I already have my work cut out for me enough as is without needing to continue this statement...
      2) "All an amp is, is an amplification of the signal it receives."
True, as long as you discount the fact that it's also both a filter and modifier of the signal it receives.
      3) "it's response is 5hz and up, but I can still play 1hz... People take the specs literal, but don't understand..."
Odd you should say such a thing, as apparently you don't understand how "response" works, in both terms of input and output, and how they pertain to a company listing "Frequency Response". Ever seen a visual bar diagram of how a speaker's response is shown in dbs vs frequency? Ever notice how it often times looks like a upside-down bowl? Where the speaker starts to roll off playing efficiently or loud (on either end of the spectrum), that's where speakers are labeled for their "Frequency Response", not actually stating the only frequencies they'll play. Just play well. Big difference between "can" and "does well". Which is why you'll still hear 1hz out of something listed as "5hz and up". There isn't a speaker rolloff (or for that matter, crossover) that's drastic enough in existence that's going to nullify frequencies that are literally 4 hertz apart.
      4) "My factory speakers play 1hz".
You just going to blatantly (or ignorantly) lie like that? No, they don't. Factory speakers in 97% of vehicles are generically made to save on cost, and even if your "stock system" came with an upgraded sound system, they're not going to play the lowest frequency there is. Now, if you were talking about 1khz, better known as 1000hz, you could (for the first time this conversation) be right, but even if that's the case, it's literally entering the range of frequencies that covers things such as vocals, so while your speakers would be right at home playing 1khz, you certainly wouldn't want your bass amp playing it, even if they're "capable" of doing so.
Thank everything that's holy in this world that you ended strong enough to not warrant continuing this breakdown retort, but damn if those first 6 sentences weren't taxing enough as literal nonsense. Sheesh.

@@RAW_Reality thanks for your response. Be nice if you wasn’t disrespectful when replying. Have you ever played 1hz on a loud speaker? Ever notice that it moves when you play 1hz? I’m not that smart, but if anyone out there would give it a shot, should be you. I’ve done it myself. Every amp is different, and designed different, and processes signal different. Doesn’t mean the amp or device producing the sound is incapable of doing it. As for my car, I have a processor in my car, as well as an amplifier on my factory premium speakers. The doors are Harmon designed as bass to midrange, and the dash is 1khz and up. Hopefully that clears up the doors situation. Seems you have some knowledge, but your disrespect is not needed. Thank you for increasing some knowledge on the subject.

Please understand that my intent was not to be disrespectful, but I am an inherently blunt person, and that usually is seen to be brash or harsh. While I understand why it's interpreted that way, please don't confuse my intent as though it had malice. I simply resist pandering or tolerance when it comes to something that's blatantly wrong. In a way, that's the same as you calling me out "for being disrespectful".
For clarification, I've played subwoofers as low as 0.3hz, so I'm in full understanding of what certain speakers are capable of, but that's the optimal word: "certain". But in no stretch of the imagination is "every speaker/amp is capable of doing so" even close to true. Additionally, it would almost certainly have to be a subwoofer to do it, as most door speakers would blow attempting infrasonic frequencies unless the volume was incredibly low, which would then reduce any chance of it being something you could visually see as the wattage given to the speaker would be so low it'd not "drive" the speaker, even if theoretically it could understand a frequency that low.
But thank you for the clarification. There's a broad difference between playing 1hz and 1khz... Amongst other things, 1khz can be heard.
Apologies if any offense was taken.

The Taramp is HD8000 can absolutely put out 10hz ... Any amp can reproduce 10hz because an amplifier, a.m.p.l.i.f.i.e.s the frequencies sent through it, but the quality and the efficiency is in question...
The components of the HD differs from the components to the BASS 8000k.
The Taramp BASS 8K amplifier is far more equip for sub frequencies than the HD, doesn't mean the HD is not gonna do the job, I must say that the craftsman ship of the Taramps are pretty poor and they are prone to self destruct under certain conditions where most other amp would power through, but the Brazilian car audio scene differs from the american audio scene where American is all about the loud low to sub low frequencies, Brazil is about the sound projection, emphasis on the mid bass, mild and high frequencies 500hz all the way to 10khz accompanied by 40-80hz bass tones

Who the hell told you that? I swear, people just repeat everything that they hear. If you search "The problem with full bridge amplifiers" you'll see a video there that shows what can actually happen to the output at lower bass frequencies with some of these Brazilian Full Bridge designs.
