Awesome as always. Please consider making and selling some velcro patches that read "leave only brain cells" oh maybe check your bag of haze and you may find those scales.
Know this video is well past it's sell-by date but I highly reccomend making pot cosies from reflective foil and tape. Stops them jangling about and an absolute game-changer for camp cooking - I can now make a coffee (with a clean pot), pop it in the cosy, cook and eat a full meal, and the coffee is still to hot to drink.
Good chuckle at the end! I’d add a few wraps of gaffa tape around your shovel handle and a few cable ties, I know it sounds like a mountaineering abduction kit but they are great for improvised kit repair.
Thanks for always keeping us all updated . Always good to see that you are very prepared for your travels . Also noticed a couple things that I don't take that now l will . So again thanks all the best haze 😊
That shovel is 498g in weight! Really useful bit of kit in winter on mountains. As for water purification, I take tablets. Just pop one in 1 litre of water and 30 minutes later you are good to go (nothing can go wrong). In winter I have the MSR XGK™ EX fuel stove; gaz cannisters in mountain winter sub zero conditions can be a serious pain and not at all efficient. This stove is bomb proof and will never let you down if you use it properly.
Hi there thanks for the vid 👍 I have a winter ML I would suggest not chains for boots If you need a walking Axe you would be best to have B2 boots with C1 or C2 crampons, unlikely to need a snowshovel in the UK unless you are planning some very Extreme conditions where you are planning to dig snow hole Doing lots of avalanche pit testing A walking axe will do all you need boot gators or good quality gators are very useful too Footprint for a tent for an extra snow gate groundsheet Compass waterproof Map and quality head torch bivvy bag or emergency shelter Hope that helps 👍😀🐾
What’s in my ‘bag’ I’m a lady, so can’t call mine anything else 🤣 a lippie, a packet of tissues, purse, perfume....... it’s endless, the amount of stuff I’ve got ready for life outdoors & lifesaving gear! Thanks for some great recommendations. Hope the new year is treating you well. Much love 💕
Putting the lighter under the gas canister....pure genius. I’ve been putting a lighter in the the red plastic case that comes with the Pocket Rocket. I’ll be chucking the case from now on.
I tie my tent on the bottom with those two straps. (Buckles) I can quite easily get my nammatj 3GT on. Just a thought. Makes for more room in the backpack for 🍷 or 🍺 we need to bin the shovels because since I bought mine I’ve seen zero snow since 😂 great packs the ospreys and aren’t those bottom compartments massive. Also the compartment on the top. Not the rain cover one the other one. I get all kinds of crap in there. Again massive. Anyway. Good to see in ya sack mate. Happy camping. 👍
Fingers crossed for a coddiwombble up in the snow. And if Mr Middleton gets shirty with ya you can always count on Ray to have your back mate. Would be cool if you could do a snow self arrest for the little jimmies and it's good fun.😁❤
Admit it, the coconut oil and leather things with chains are for in case you "accidentally" bump in to Michael Barrymore while at the top of a secluded mountain...? You rascal :)
Must be Karma or some such... had literally just pressed the 'Purchase' button on this pack when your vid pinged up. Thanks for all the quality content Uncle Haze. It's very much appreciated.
Nice mate, I've got the Osprey Rook 50...plenty big enough for moi cos I don't have all the fancy cameras! Random question... What pants you wearing nowadays.. I remember your video when you burnt your favourite pants haha just wondered what your favourite ones are now? Cheers, keep em coming! Lee
Hi Hazie I really enjoyed this video .all your videos are always informative and entertaining. Keep then coming . Do you bring a music radio with you on you trips. Your also stone mad. Reg shannon in Dublin
Bit late to the party .. but I think the Osprey packs have a whistle built into the sternum strap buckle. Could have saved you several calories carrying that orange whistle all over the hills.
Acting!! YESS!! Your new mission after securing the Northern Monk brilliant win, how about GET HAZEY ON EMMERDALE! 🤣 can even get you for the random fella walking through a latched gate role! You’ve plenty of casting reels for them there!
Informative vid there Haze enjoyed it, I'm doing the west highland way end of June will be camping/wild camping ect I'm yet to decide on a suitable backpack, would you recommend the one you have there for long treks?
Cheers for the video. Done my 1st winter camp last year and looking to progress this year. Bought some more equipment in preparation for getting out there. Will start off a slightly lower levels before i go up into the mountains properly. The video for my 1st winter camp is on my channel if you fancy watching it 👍 Bought a big Osprey rucksack and a snow shovel as well since last year
Why don’t you try using silica gel sachets under your gas canister, in ya cook kit. I use them in my Jetboil. Think I’m gonna upgrade & copy ya cook kit 2b fair mate.
your to good for the SAS you bud don't forget ant Middleton coming to Hull on one of his mind over muscle tours why don't you get yourself a ticket and pop along lol 😂
Also, gas canisters are not a great idea for winter camping. Many won't work at 30°F (butane) and none work below 10°F (even 'Iso' which is a more volatile gas mix of isobutane...)
"Worrying that you're going to get blown off, and not in a good way." What a great line....another great video.
Nice one Hazy. Little tip. Stick some silicone tubing round the handles of the Toaks pots. Stops them getting hot in the flame.
Awesome as always. Please consider making and selling some velcro patches that read "leave only brain cells" oh maybe check your bag of haze and you may find those scales.
You are so funny, love watching you, angie and my dog bella

Shemagh is a must for any kit!
Fookin love the intro , gets me in a good mood every time
Thanks for taking the time to give us a peek & the smiles* Thanks Hazy-safe & happy travels up the hills.xx
Your the man Haze my New Years resolution was to get the fam into the woods more it’s costs absolutely £0👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🏴
Good chuckle at the end!
I’d add a few wraps of gaffa tape around your shovel handle and a few cable ties, I know it sounds like a mountaineering abduction kit but they are great for improvised kit repair.
Always carry Duct Tape! (same as Gaffa tape? ) I wrap ~a foot around a disposable lighter and and keep it in my emergency kit.
Thanks for always keeping us all updated . Always good to see that you are very prepared for your travels . Also noticed a couple things that I don't take that now l will . So again thanks all the best haze 😊

Hi there thanks for the vid 👍

Thanks mate. I’m happy with chains, crampons are a bit over kill for my needs. Appreciate the feedback 😃

Loving your new green spoon (xxxxl) well wittled! Another great vid dude.
Yep can't beat army softie trousers and jacket for me 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
What’s in my ‘bag’ I’m a lady, so can’t call mine anything else 🤣 a lippie, a packet of tissues, purse, perfume....... it’s endless, the amount of stuff I’ve got ready for life outdoors & lifesaving gear! Thanks for some great recommendations. Hope the new year is treating you well. Much love 💕

Haha...that phone call from Ant and Dec asking you to go on love island.
Great fun...and lots of top tips.
Thanks, bud.
Been waiting for winter camping, but this has been a weird season this year. Like the addition of the ear plugs. Would be great in a thunderstorm too.
I tie my tent on the bottom with those two straps. (Buckles) I can quite easily get my nammatj 3GT on. Just a thought.

Fingers crossed for a coddiwombble up in the snow.
And if Mr Middleton gets shirty with ya you can always count on Ray to have your back mate.

Admit it, the coconut oil and leather things with chains are for in case you "accidentally" bump in to Michael Barrymore while at the top of a secluded mountain...? You rascal :)
careful you don't end up face down in a tarn XD
Water wings would be a better bet.
Thanks for showing us yer sack, bud!
I quite like to add a silk sleeping bag liner too in my 3 season bag. Very little extra weight and it helps.
Nice one hazey... Hollywood for you next 🙌🏻
I have the same bag 👌 there’s a whistle that comes with it, it’s the clip on your chest strap.
Must be Karma or some such... had literally just pressed the 'Purchase' button on this pack when your vid pinged up. Thanks for all the quality content Uncle Haze. It's very much appreciated.

The best packs in the world mate
Glad Buckaroo got a shoutout!
Bit late to the party .. but I think the Osprey packs have a whistle built into the sternum strap buckle. Could have saved you several calories carrying that orange whistle all over the hills.

You said about your life systems whistle... your osprey pack has one on the chest strap 🤙🏻
iPhone Camper not everyone has a osprey backpack is my thinking about the whistle bit. 😉
Andy Wardle hazey wasn’t doing a review on everyone’s gear just his. 😉 but point taken 👌🏻👍🏻
You got enough gear in that thing to climb Everest! (something you and Northern Monk need to tell us?) 😁
them phone calls had me dieng ha ha ha.
Haze, can you be a US Amazon influencer? Here in the US I'd love to get some of the gear you use.
Please come to Canada and do some real winter camping with us!
Forgive my ignorance, what are Army softies, I take its clothing of some sort.
Oh Hazey ♥️ really enjoyed it 😂
High, your snow-shovel is much better than mine. But i can not get it with your link ! Kindly Fiete

Hazey is SBS. Ant ain’t got s**t on him haha ✌🏻
Love my osprey backpack, i won't ever buy another brand.
Dude, your water filter will not work much below freezing. It'll freeze as the water is filtered.
Also, gas canisters are not a great idea for winter camping. Many won't work at 30°F (butane) and none work below 10°F (even 'Iso' which is a more volatile gas mix of isobutane...)
In the picture of the tent what is the row of green and red lights
It’s a plane mate. It’s slightly longer exposure
20:00 had a bit of a David Brent vibe
Do you live in whitby
Your Amazon link aint working maaaaaate
Thanks eh!
i doubt Dustin carries a whistle
Cut down scouring pad to save weight, every little helps
