I'm American, and didn't know this channel was not, so when it said multi DAY coast to coast I was very confused about how fast this man was going. When I heard him start speaking this made a lot more sense but this is a great video!
8kg is really impressive! A lot of rucksacks weight 2kg when they're empty. I've just come back (early) from an attempt to walk The Ridgeway as I was carrying too much weight (18kg) and I was in pain for all of my first day. This video was very timely for me - thanks for sharing. :-)
Thanks for this Hazeo. I am walking the Coast to Coast in May (I live in Australia) and I have loved your videos and seeing your heart. Good one buddy!!! Thank you, the packing list really helped as I plan to wildcamp.
Excellent bare bones setup. Love the simplicity of the thru hiker type setup.. Concentrating the kit down to bare minimums really lets us know how the piece of gear is performing at its designated task/tasks. Thanks for showing your setup mate. Bang on
After day 7 of the hike I was thankful that I got my pack weight so light. And to thing I almost took my helm 2 tent! I hope you're well brother, lets get an adventure booked in soon?
New you were genuine after seeing your first film but having watched this Im now convinced any man who carries a tub of ` vas` in his kit is a serious trecker !! something u only learn the hard way
My recommendation for a replacement poncho is without a doubt: Wilderness Innovation here in the states mate. It is a poncho, a tarp, a hammock..you can even order a kit that turns it into a super shelter! They have the BEST bushcraft gear of ALL TIME. I do not know why they have not blown up. All American made and American sourced materials. Check them out. And they will be coming out with Dyneema products. Your welcome my brother!
A Fix . Nice lite pack. Well done. I can recommend the Anker 20100 2 port USB power pack. As well I have used Scotchguard outdoor water shield. I spray that on my tent seams and rain wear . Put on a coat hanger, outside spray seams ,then give entire garment a a good spray let dry. These may work for u. P. S. If u ever come hiking in Canada buy u a beer or 2 or 3.
Thanks for sharing this, I think this is really useful info / inspiration for anyone who is planning a longer trip. Will be taking on board your advice around feet. And well done on completing the c2c.
Hi I've got this bag and it i so light and comfortable... the first I've used a bladder with - works really well. (Leaves pockets free for other stuff!) The pack is superb with so many options for storage - it's a TARDIS!
sweet set up, and twice a day feets is a great idea am gonna copy, only have daft wee non goretex trail shoes but got seven soaking wet days worth from a wee tin of that fancy coco butter version- still happy feet zero blisters, but more sounds better
Good one. I'm going to do the coast to coast somewhen soon, bet it felt like a real achievement. Also got the x-therm and money well spent in my eyes, epic bit of kit.
You did good! 17lbs! That’s great.. sometimes I swear my day packs weigh that much 😜😜 lol .. I’m selfishly hoping that you filmed the coast to coast at least a little?? I really enjoy your camera work and editing and I’d love to see what you got. 😊 But, I also completely understand the need to NOT film sometimes and just immerse yourself into the experience.. so either way, yay you.. that’s a great thing to check off the ‘done’ list.. lol ATB ~Ruth
Ah good to see the Burnage t-shirt on your vid so thanks for that. Standard legs spread jobby Ha. I sent you that late last August I think.🤔 And yes I still watch your vids when they come out mate, still as enjoyable as ever. Congrats on the coast to coast as well. Trek. 👌. James.
Hazy, when you coming to the states man?? Think you should do some of our national trails (AT, PCT, or even the CDT) that would be dope AF!!! Anyway man have a good one!! P.s. I think your ex wants her sheets and rug back
Nice kit video, I'll give you a tip for free on power banks. There is only one brand to trust and that's Anker. I've had mine for over three years and done nearly close to 1000 miles backpacking UK trail in all weathers and touch wood they have never let me down. I see you had problems with Snugpak. Over the years I used to buy a few good items from them like their special forces bivy bag etc but I have lost trust in them now after they sold me a so-called 100% silk sleeping bag liner that according to its own label was 60% cotton. They would not reply to email when I called them out so I would stay away from those lot too. I'm watching your coast to coast videos now...
I wish I knew how to get my pack down to that size and weight my sleeping mat uses nearly all the space in my pack it is huge even when it's not inflated im useless at the art of lightweight backpacking...thats why I watch these videos so that I can learn to put together a get home bag or light weight back pack. Anyways thanks for the upload and for sharing
I came across your UA-cam channel while planning for the Coast to Coast in late April 2019. Great videos! I'm curious regarding the pace you walked. Do you have any estimates of your pace (mph) in the Lake District, the Dales and the Moors? I hope to complete it in 12 days. I'll be traveling light since I'l be staying in B&Bs, Inns or pubs. Any advice will be appreciated!
Great insight to your pack enjoyed watching it great to see that even though some stuff in your packed you like and some you don't you give the information out so people can make their decision I certainly won't buy snugpak I've been after a sea to summit supalite poncho tarp could be a good choice for you bud if you can get one the super light can be used as a type in emergency situations all about the Ninja Man
LOL I'll let you know how I get on (starting tomorrow) with a 3.5kg Vango tent at half the weight of your kit alone. (although that implies i'll actually get to the end)
Thanks! This vid probably saved us from carrying too much and made it far more enjoyable. Was a great walk and well done to you for doing it in such style regardless of the injuries etc (and for missing the Northern Monk collab aha). PS: Waiting for a bonus vid of the via ferrata at the quarry near Rothwaite ;)
That's a bummer about the snugpack poncho. I have a German Millitary surplus poncho. Was about £20 from a local army surplus store. A bit on the heavy side but bomb proof and does the job well. How does the MSR filter compare to the Sawyer mini?
Hi Haze, relatively new to your channel, just watching your South Downs Way adventure. You make your narration interesting with your humour and banter, "medic!". Quick question though, I've not heard about using Vaseline on the feet before, is it vastly effective or mildly effective? Also, does the compeed stick not do the same thing? Thanks in advance and keep 'em coming 👍🏻
Dear Hazey I really hope you can reply. What did you replace the poncho with? You used a marmot windbreaker which must be breathable but when it rains, what light weight rain jacket / shell do you recommend? I think pit vents are the key to stop it becoming a sweat bag, don't you think? But some of the options out there are soooooo expensive!! I have watched this video many times and I learn something new each time. Thank you for all your efforts. Rgds Muhammad
Man I just came back from Cadair Idris via Llyn Cau (one night of camping at the lake), was a hell of a walk for me (unfit af), but my pack was 20.5 kg without water (I did have 3kg of camera gear, but still thats bloody abysmal). And my gf was even carrying the cookset and a couple of other bits. I just dont get what the hell I'm doing wrong, it's embarrassing... You didn't mention gas, I guess you needed quite a bit on that trip? Do you bring a spare canister if one fails or ends before you expect?
MOst ppl buy backpacks above 2lbs - sometimes the backpack is 6lbs itself ! next part is a sleeping bag. mine weights one pound (summer) 2 lbs (winter), and there are ppl who still carry 5lbs sleeping bags. For me weighting the t-bags resulted in 14 lbs (6kg) base weight.
I think the snugpak served another purpose and that was to let us know. You field tested it! Many thanks! 17 pounds plus the food and water. Good good sack. What was in your porridge after? I got two on the list but missed the last two. Enjoyed that. Mark
Just a quickie about the tent old bean, does the inner mesh touch your face or is there plenty room? I'm six foot exactly just so you can gauge it with your own height, cheers in advance 👍☺️
Hi Haze, just subscribed. Hope you don’t mind me asking, exactly which marmot Windshell jacket is the green one you have? Looked everywhere for one! Where you get it? Was it expensive? Looks like it weighs about 100g or so. Does it work? Cheers
Great vlogs mate, really enjoying your C2C (currently watching part 2) I’m looking to do this myself can you please tell me which map you used? It looks like a pretty handy book off the vids. Cheers. Keep up the good work
Eyup mate, great vid, doing the dales way this year and will be following your example. How did you find your oats? Was thinking of doing the same but adding powdered milk maybe
Good video Hazy my friend 👍 it was really interesting & informative, where would I go to get the right sized boots, (what shops will make sure you get the right one's?) 🍻🍷🥃 cheers pal

Thanks Haze. Gave me some good tips, I’m a beginner to this.
Nice one Haze....Lad:) That coast to coast is a serious walk. 192 miles. Welldone Lad:)))
Excellent bare bones setup. Love the simplicity of the thru hiker type setup.. Concentrating the kit down to bare minimums really lets us know how the piece of gear is performing at its designated task/tasks. Thanks for showing your setup mate. Bang on

Sorry mate, missed this reply.. Al send a pm later today or tomorrow to see what days are best.
Bang on!!
book it soon !! Hi jinks and mayhem !!
Dude.. where's the PM button gone ?
Planning on my GR-20 hike in October and stumbled over your video. Worth watching , comes handy. Thanks for that
New you were genuine after seeing your first film but having watched this Im now convinced any man who carries a tub of ` vas` in his kit is a serious trecker !! something u only learn the hard way
Very good , simple guide to light weight back packing; well done !
Nice rug.
Really ties the room together.
Not a question . Just well done for keeping your promise.

bridgedale socks are really awesome, i can't rate them highly enough.
great breakdown and thanks for the update on the tent vis condensation.. looking forward to the video of the walk.
peace.
Hi
I've got this bag and it i so light and comfortable... the first I've used a bladder with - works really well. (Leaves pockets free for other stuff!) The pack is superb with so many options for storage - it's a TARDIS!
Nice. Can't go wrong with that set up. I have a very similar set up with a DJI drone for this summer. Hopefully no more than 9 kg.
gear loadout are always fun to watch
sweet set up, and twice a day feets is a great idea am gonna copy, only have daft wee non goretex trail shoes but got seven soaking wet days worth from a wee tin of that fancy coco butter version- still happy feet zero blisters, but more sounds better
Have a butcher's at the TW pocho/hammock/tarp. Bit bigger but multifunctional only £20
Solution for condensation is Lanshan 2 which weights only 300g more 😁
I've been enjoying your vids since about 150k... Today, i purchased your LUTS package. very excited to try these out on some videos
Well done Haze. Thanxs for taking the time to do a pack video. Atb
Good looking loadout for a C2C, love what you've done with the canal jumper
Good one. I'm going to do the coast to coast somewhen soon, bet it felt like a real achievement. Also got the x-therm and money well spent in my eyes, epic bit of kit.
That is slimline buddy! Like the sound of your tent - going to have to check them out. Thanks for sharing (and the Kappa Hacka. Atb, Simon

Well done Hazey, my life has completely changed this last 7 weeks but I,m sure I,ll be out there soon ! With a kit as light as yours ? I doubt it !! 😁
Great vid 👍 I been thinkin about buying a snugpak poncho for a while as a swear by their jackets...pleased a never now!😁
Uncle Hazeo - why have you moved away from the Sawyer Filter to the MSR filter? Was this a conscious decision or just wanted to try it out.
Nice buddy thanks for sharing
Nice life hack on the Kappa logo haha
Really helpful thank you Haze
Really cool stuff
Watched a few of your vids, love the dry humour. Have you noticed how you pat, slap and toss kit from hand to hand. Lots of tactile stuff going on.
What stuffsacks do you use to organise your kit?
I wish I knew how to get my pack down to that size and weight my sleeping mat uses nearly all the space in my pack it is huge even when it's not inflated im useless at the art of lightweight backpacking...thats why I watch these videos so that I can learn to put together a get home bag or light weight back pack. What sleep mat are you using?
Sweet vid also noticed the Ironman tat big thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Superlight, my exos is always busting its knackers atb Dave
Worth watching for the life hack alone!! 😆
Those jean shorts are like you went from The Incredible Hulk to David Banner !
Amazing video!
just spray the rain coat that failed with Camp Dry, instead of buying something else. Cheaper than buying new gear & works. Spray your tent as well.
I came across your UA-cam channel while planning for the Coast to Coast in late April 2019. Great videos! I'm curious regarding the pace you walked. Nice pack bag
I'm looking to do the coast to coast this spring/summer. Question. How many tshirts and boxers would you recommend?
Maybe try a miltec poncho - heavier but bomb proof. Also can use it as a tarp. Good to see the lanshan 1, I have it too but made it camo coloured.
Fuchsia Shock how did you recolour the lanshan??
F.S. i'd be interested in how you did this too
rigby bucolic As if by magic! I talk about it in a vid here ua-cam.com/video/FcZJwq2ERSQ/v-deo.html
Jay Sprayed it - ua-cam.com/video/FcZJwq2ERSQ/v-deo.html
Starting another brilliant video mate!
I might give some of this gear a go, shame about the poncho.

Best tent?
Love your videos, made me proper giggle some of them...
"barneys bellend" in your purple green blanket :D
LOL I'll let you know how I get on (starting tomorrow) with a 3.5kg Vango tent at half the weight of your kit alone. (although that implies i'll actually get to the end)
Good luck mate!

Hazey...what's the green trail jacket you wear ?
looking for a new rain jacket, was thinking of a poncho but not sure now, any ideas as to what you are looking for in a jaket now

You didn't mention gas, I guess you needed quite a bit on that trip? Do you bring a spare canister if one fails or ends before you expect?
Impressive, after really being brutal ( weighing the T bags) I get mine down to 9.66 Kg without water or food.
You got a coast to coast video coming out Haze? Also, did you see MCQ’s video, ep04 in Denmark? If not watch it. 😂
Love the life hack, can't believe I didn't come across that beaut back in the day.
Bit late, but how tall are you? Is the lanshan 1 big enough for someone who is 6' 2''?
Nice packing mate, proper slim dimms! When you starting the new channel ‘Haze Indoors’? 🦓🌈
Hi buddy what jacket is this you have? Regards lee
I think the snugpak served another purpose and that was to let us know. You field tested it! Many thanks! 17 pounds plus the food and water. Good good sack. What was in your porridge after? I got two on the list but missed the last two. Enjoyed that. Mark
Hi Mark, In the porridge was goji berries, chia seeds, acacia root and cinnamon. I find it the perfect start to the day.
Thanks Hazey, I'm off out next week for a few days and will try it. Appreciated. All the best...
Just a quickie about the tent old bean, does the inner mesh touch your face or is there plenty room? I'm six foot exactly just so you can gauge it with your own height, cheers in advance 👍☺️

Hi
Did you purchase a different poncho?
Snugpak normally is good gear.
Andy
Nice one
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Women sat with her legs open……Quality 🙏🏼
Enjoyed that Sir, thank you. How did you get on with the MSR filter?
How's your tent in the downpour and windy?
Any chance of having the recipe for the oats breakfast haze
Good stuff, buddy! Subbed!
Great vlogs mate, really enjoying your C2C (currently watching part 2) I’m looking to do this myself can you please tell me which map you used? It looks like a pretty handy book off the vids. Cheers. Keep up the good work
very helpful video. thnx
Did you take a GPS or compass at all, or was the route well marked?
Eyup mate, great vid, doing the dales way this year and will be following your example. How did you find your oats? Was thinking of doing the same but adding powdered milk maybe
Apologies for asking, but do you not wear underpants?
Really like your vids mate. Keep up good work!
What time of year did you attempt the C2C.
Good video Hazy my friend 👍 it was really interesting & informative, where would I go to get the right sized boots, (what shops will make sure you get the right one's?) 🍻🍷🥃 cheers pal
How did you like the tent?
Is there a C2C video coming Hazebly?
Hazy the rugby t~shirt is Burnage rugby club in South Manchester m8ty 😁👍
Which down jacket is it please?
Wot camera do u use mate
