I also wondered about the prices at a "rare guitar" shop. I see rare in the name and think all the guitars they have will be too expensive for me to consider buying.
1. Okay it's probably a small shop with really cool guitars and a decent back stock. 2. Oh damn store's a lot bigger than I thought. 3. Wow okay that's a lot of guitars. 4. Oh my God that's a lot of guitars, this puts guitar center to shame. 5. Holy crap there's still more, but this should be it. 6. Okay NOPE he has another room... 7. Holy shit...
Don't forget, "The Secret Room." My Daughter's boyfriend, IcePick said, "It bottles the mind!" You mean "boggles the mind," I responded. He looked at me, "That makes no sense. All those guitars in one place..like in a bottle." After a long pause Ice jumped to his feet in amazement, "...and he's got a Secret Room!... Shit!" So, yeah, don't forget the secret room.
Yeah but that store ain't for musicians its for doctors and lawyers who have insane income to spend. Us normal players still need to go to guitar center or other good cheap stores. Lol guys r highly over priced for no reason at all
I think you are now becoming a broker in helping successful musicians give back to upcoming musicians! In a world of people just accumulating stuff, you are one of the few ...please keep this going....
A fellow band member who was a collector told me Norm had a '58 double cut TV Jr....back around '91 or so...$1300. I went to see it, Norm immediately told me all about it...someone had routed out the body for another pickup and volume control, but was hidden by the pickguard, and the pickguard wasn't original but made from old Gibson stock. One of my fave guitars!
Wow, that inventory is unbelievable. As I was watching the video, I kept saying to myself, "wow, that's a lot of guitars". Hard to say which guitars I liked the most. I saw a cool Gretsch 6120 DSW on the wall. One of the Rickenbacker basses looked pretty sweet. Awesome video. Thank you.
Thanks Sincerely Norm, for your service and dedication to the people. A small business is absolutely fantastic. The recycling aspect and epic pieces are beyond my lexicon. Rock on.
It always freaks me out when I see all the expensive guitars all tightly packed in stands. I'd be paranoid that I'd knock one over and they'd all go down like dominoes.
The fact so many are hanging so high up in the air freaks me out as well! I'm not even 'that' knowledgeable about guitars, I just play them, but even if hanging them like that doesn't affect the neck - what if they fall down?!!
Was from out of town in on business and found time to stop by Norm’s Rare Guitars .Wow !! I’ve been playing guitar for about 52 years but felt like a 9 year old kid in a candy store!! Was doing the total tourist gawking thing totally intoxicated by the sight and smell of so much vintage wood hanging, it seemed from the rafters! First Lemmo comes popping out from the back with a friendly “ hello “ and then I seen the man himself standing by a row of vintage les paul deluxe’s one after the other that seemed to go on for 30 feet!! This was Sensory overload ... Guitar Heaven if there ever was!!! Norm was signing a copy of his recent book for a customer so I just kinda fell in line behind him to get one too! Norm could not have been nicer and gladly grabbed another copy and signed one for me and took the time to talk a little bit like we were old friends!! Sure felt a lot different from how I am usually treated at my local guitar “superstore”!! Will be back next time I’m in town for sure!! Keep up the good work guys!! Vegas Greg!!
I live on the east coast but I hope to make the trip in the next year or so. I think going to Norm's is a pilgrimage every rising player should do. and make sure there's a few grand in the bank I'd hate to miss any opportunities to buy a great guitar.
you need a bigger store norm!! a warehouse sized one would be best to showcase all those awesome guitars of yours! also would love to come down and check your store out someday.. I live in Niagara Falls Canada and hopefully i'll save up not just airfare but enough to buy a guitar or 2 from your store Cheers, :)
wow I hope you've got a good fire fighting system in there. If it were me I'd be panicking if I had anything less than argon gas fire supression system in there.
Got too say Norm’s prices are damn fair look at his online site I was luck enough as a truck driver and being from Florida too visit . Still need too buy a t-shirt. But his prices are damn accurate love the channel
Great person ! Great speach and awesome work and years of working hard to get what you deserve !!!! Regrads from France....Your shop is just A Dream :) !!!! Gaëtan
Is that a couple Trussarts by the Gibsons? Would love to see a guitar of the day with any Trussart! Also that all walnut Fender in the custom shop fender section would be awesome to hear!!
Bought my first guitar from Norman’s Rare Guitars in 1980 - a 1980 ES-335. Price: $500. Condition: like new, flawless. Mike McGuire at Valley Arts Guitar told me that if I sold it, I would be sorry because it had a nice neck. I sold it. I’m sorry. Why? Because it had a nice neck! I’ll never live that one down! 😂
If you ever get to L.A., Norms is worth the visit. Amazing place and it will make you wish you were a gajillionaire!! They really do have something for everyone though. Pretty awesome.
Wonder if anyone has attempted a robbery on this place. Although would probably be difficult to sell afterwards as they would surely be traceable back to Norm's. I would hire a small army to protect these beauties day and night against any person, accident, storm, fire, etc. lol
Rob Kennedy You don’t have millions of $$ & not have that figured out!!! Not only cameras everywhere, but armed security behind 2way glass (I know someone who did security there). Don’t try it!! You’d be locked it, shot, caught ‘All The Above’, Quick!!! Take ur dumb ass somewhere else.
Nice information, I love music and I like to play Guitar. many musical instrument stores in LA but I like the International House of Music. This was good and affordable.
This might seem weird, since I am not in the insurance business, instrument business, and I don't play music, but I looked at this inventory and thought how much loss would happen if a fire hit. Wow, that place is vulnerable to rapid and extensive fire with who knows how much money up in smoke or left in puddles of melted plastic. I hope places like this do a good job of checking for fire hazards, particularly the electrical ones which can happen when nobody is around. And they better have good insurance. Great to see these folks doing work they love, though. I wish I had a job I loved.
Immediately answered my question about whether you sell lower end, affordable guitars for those of us who are not rich and/or famous. Definitely headed to your store as soon as it’s safe to go home. I’m originally a sax player. Picked up guitar a year ago. I’m a born again musician. What was your first instrument?
Oh my god I’d be scared to play a fender mim because I’d be afraid of how expensive it is, let alone like literally 90% of the guitars in this shop holy crap
I like that Norm gave a shout out to Us Lefty's... I'm actually ambidextrous (write, throw Lefty, Bat righty, play hockey righty ,etc.) ... Except it seems when it comes to playing guitar... Never felt comfortable playing right handed...
I bought the Ice Blue Tele at 0:48 seconds in. Awesome guitar, great price, and a fantastic experience meeting Norm and Marc.
It looks like he had 2 here and a thin line too.
My God.... I need a drool cup! Thanks Norm, gotta make it over.
God bless Norm. My dream is to one day visit this store! much love from Ohio.
One day norm I'll come to your shop and buy my dream guitar.
So i'm wondering if Norm's idea of words like "affordable" and "moderately priced" are anywhere near mine.
they've got a 57 LP fretless wonder going for $85k atm so maybe not.
CaptainFantastik1 those classic vibes are like 400 bucks
haggai samuelson I payed them a visit once. Their prices start from couple hundreds to tens of thousands and everything in between
In a word, no.
I also wondered about the prices at a "rare guitar" shop. I see rare in the name and think all the guitars they have will be too expensive for me to consider buying.
They should do a tv show on this shop, something like the way they do pawn stars
Awesome idea!
he lacks the personality of Rick or the old man, thankfully he also lacks the walking disaster known as Chumlee.
Graham ripper idea
Yes! Fucking great idea!!
They already do loads of UA-cam content. Much better. Watch it when you want.
Awesome collection…thanks Norm☮️
i love these shop tours and the videos of Norm going out and buying guitars, i loved the 66 strat in lake placid blue
1. Okay it's probably a small shop with really cool guitars and a decent back stock.
2. Oh damn store's a lot bigger than I thought.
3. Wow okay that's a lot of guitars.

5. Holy crap there's still more, but this should be it.
6. Okay NOPE he has another room...
7. Holy shit...
He has a warehouse full of the really high end stuff. Probably 10s of millions of dollars worth.
Don't forget, "The Secret Room." My Daughter's boyfriend, IcePick said, "It bottles the mind!" You mean "boggles the mind," I responded. He looked at me, "That makes no sense. The Crypt...beware, you've been warned...
You've got a great guitar shop Norm, you're Gibson collection is amazing.
yeah I know he has beautiful archtops 2
It's a dream of mine to visit your store someday! Awesome stuff Norm! Cheers!
Jason Hobbs , me too.
Jason Hobbs I'm English 11 and never been abroad so... maybe 😣🤔
I think you are now becoming a broker in helping successful musicians give back to upcoming musicians! In a world of people just accumulating stuff, you are one of the few ...please keep this going....
Great tour. I always wanted to see this store. It might be worth a flight to visit Norm and his treasures.
The correct formula for determining the number of guitars one should own is always N + 1. With "N" being the number of guitars you now own.
Jack D. Ripper .mmm yeah but i was told another formula..w×2 ..w being the max guitars in the house wife can tolerate.
I thought N stood for "Norm's Guitars"? In that case I think I have N - 756
One is tooo many, And a thousand isn't enough!
Really enjoyed the tour, Norm. Thanks.
A fellow band member who was a collector told me Norm had a '58 double cut TV Jr....back around '91 or so...$1300. Thank you for preserving America's musical history. And making it available to musicians.
It’s a dream of mine to see your amazing store! thanks

There over priced anyways no guitar should cost over 2k$

Guitar heaven! Thanks for showing us your amazing collection, Norm!
He's got 3 million in guitar stands and hangers alone
and hundreds more in the back.

Is like heaven for guitar players, when I die I hope my soul soar for your shop, wonderful selection
Was neat to find out Norm was a leftie! I never would have guessed. Plays right handed and wears is watch on his left wrist like a rightie does too.
That is just heaven right their you won't get tired woking up everyday when you see those guitars life is damn great
I was there and its and amazing place with great humble people!!cheers Norm Jorge from Mexico
When I die, this is how I imagine my kind of heaven will look like!

Awesome store Norm! Wish I lived closer!🎸☺
Hey Norm love the segment. I live in Australia but l would love to visit your store someday. 😊
Thanks for the updated tour
Norm. I was kinda surprised
that you carry basses.
I live on the east coast but I hope to make the trip in the next year or so. I think going to Norm's is a pilgrimage every rising player should do. and make sure there's a few grand in the bank I'd hate to miss any opportunities to buy a great guitar.

His original store was quite a bit smaller.

Located in...you guessed it, Guitarzana, CA.
Incredible store, I hope that I will be able to visit one day.

I absolutely love what you guys do, I'm in Ontario, Canada but I'm going to try and make the trek to see all of these guitars!
Great job on this one! Cool!
I love the store. I'd love to see it in person one day
wow I hope you've got a good fire fighting system in there. If it were me I'd be panicking if I had anything less than argon gas fire supression system in there.
one hell of an insurance policy
I'd be worried that someone would trip on their shoelaces and fall into a half dozen or so.....
that's why all the rare collectibles are hidden away LOL
I would have a heart attack
People get so worried about destroying materialistic things smh.
Steve Urkel: "Did I do thaaaaat?"
These are our low end guitars 1899 to 3500 dollars
Beautiful shop !!!!!
Got too say Norm’s prices are damn fair look at his online site I was luck enough as a truck driver and being from Florida too visit . Still need too buy a t-shirt. But his prices are damn accurate love the channel
I'm from Dallas, Texas and I would love to visit y'alls store. Hopefully I get to meet you at the annual 4 Amigos this year.

Must visit USA and Norm's is on my agenda. What a collection, insurance must be bitch!
my dream land....!! One place a have to visit before I die...
Define "Inexpensive"? Awesome shop, sir!!
Two things. You need a bigger store. 2nd. Would make a cool location for a reality show, guest guitarists, ppl coming in flogging off stuff. etc etc.
I was drooling half way through.
I smiled, laughed, cried in amazement! Hey Norman! Are you hiring?
Mark Knopfler is left-handed but it didn't stop him from becoming an amazing guitarist playing right-handed Norm !
at 1:54 the sunburst telecaster at the top is the same model as mine
Wow! How many guitars are there in the store? Fantastic selection. Hope to visit one day!
If you ever get to L.A., Norms is worth the visit. Amazing place and it will make you wish you were a gajillionaire!! They really do have something for everyone though. Pretty awesome.

I'm flying in from Sweden in December. Gonna pay you guys a visit and buy a T-shirt :)
I would be interested to know amount of insurance coverage Norm has. I suspect it is staggering.
Nice information, I love music and I like to play Guitar. many musical instrument stores in LA but I like the International House of Music. This was good and affordable.
This store is the ONLY reason I would consider moving back to LA.
Definitely on my bucket list to get there one day and hopefully walk in and see George Lynch playing guitar now thats a dream come true.
"And this is where we keep - you guessed it - Frank Stallone"
It used to be Tom Petty. R.I.P.
Awesome...love it!
Looks like an amazing place..!
Great shop Norm.
Such a great guy, seriously not every guitar store can actually say they care about what their customers are buying
You're a legend Norm!
This might seem weird, since I am not in the insurance business, instrument business, and I don't play music, but I looked at this inventory and thought how much loss would happen if a fire hit. At 4:47 the all gold fender, I use to own one just like it... Damn, I miss it.

I’m originally a sax player. Picked up guitar a year ago. I’m a born again musician.
What was your first instrument?
really liked that surf green telecaster
love the old guitars ......just like me
Oh my god I’d be scared to play a fender mim because I’d be afraid of how expensive it is, let alone like literally 90% of the guitars in this shop holy crap
Impressed.. And that's hard to do with us old guys!!
Norm's mind is like steel trap. The guy is amazing.
That's really awesome!
Fantastic stuff Norm.
Nice tour!
So beautiful 😎
I like that Norm gave a shout out to Us Lefty's... I'm actually ambidextrous (write, throw Lefty, Bat righty, play hockey righty ,etc.) ... Except it seems when it comes to playing guitar... Never felt comfortable playing right handed...
Hey Norman! Why don't you open up a New York City Branch?? Wish you were here!
Love ya Norm x
Norm...face it! You were born cool! It's in your blood lil brother!
