I love Joe - he's such a down to earth, regular American type of guy. None of the arrogance or ego we see in most mediocre players. He's a guitarist's guitarist in every sense. Guy you could drink a few beers with while jamming & talking guitars.

Zenn: Joe is my favorite... Funny thing is I didn't know about him until about 2 years ago when my bro-in-law asked me if I've ever heard of him... I said 'no'. Then he showed me the Just Got Paid live video and I was hooked. I was away from playing guitar for a long time and just got back into it, so I guess that's the reason.. I'm so glad I have a guitar hero again (along with Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, etc...). Like you said, no arrogance or ego... the coolest!

Joe Bonamassa is a legend not just for being a great player but for being such a guitar nerd. This guy's garage is the reason we can't find tweed amps at a reasonable price anymore.

I’m almost a year late to the party, but I gotta say: That Les Paul sounds fantastic! It’s so crisp & clear, but with the bass on point. Anyone would be blessed to have a taste of a guitar like that in their lifetime. Mr.Bonamassa knows it & plays them like it’s no tomorrow & I love it! Gives us a taste of the holy grail of guitars. Keep it up!

Here's a short story. I lived real close to Seth Lover. We both lived in Garden Grove, Ca. Once, as I was passing by he pulled out of his jacket pocket THE original Gibson, what was to become the PAF. "I knew you would come by," he said, knowing I walked my dog down the street almost every day! He and his wife were really nice. And they liked my dog! Years later I owned a race shop in Corona, CA two streets over from the Fender Custom Shop. Off Maple(6th St) and Commerce St. One builder there came to my shop regarding a race kart for his son. We became good acquaintances and when I delivered some parts, I met Abigail Yabbara! She was a shy lady who sat at her bench winding her pickups. I said some kind words. Afterwards, she put her hand atop mine and said, "God Bless." That was the totality of our interaction. I did a few projects for the Custom Shop. Everyone was super nice!

I really appreciate Joe's desire to promote others and encourage people to listen to and go see lesser known players, as well as share the stories of some of the gems he's had the opportunity to purchase. Recognition for one's playing these days, much like access to quality vintage instruments, is harder and harder for the average working musician to get. That's not a complaint; it's just an acknowledgment of reality. It's nice to know that there are at least a few guys on top, like Joe, who understand and appreciate what life for the majority of us is like as we aspire to be as great as we can at what we love to do.

Great vid. Didn't know much about vintage 2 pup Customs. Loved to hear the neck pup squealed. In the right setting, this would add life to the tone.
Also love Joe furthering knowlege. I recall a in studio at KFOG SF circa '07 and he'd visit middle and High schools thru his Blues Foundation (ok, name escapes me). He'd play Zep then try to explain where that came from. In one case, he started singing and made a girl in class cry. He scared her!! Apologized, of course. Song featured during the visit was Asking Around For You. Wiped me out. Bought "You And Me" that weekend. My fave Joe B title out of 10 and yep, a thank you to KFOGin the liner notes. They were supporters before. I miss those days.

Joe is such a good person to share his knowledge so much. It's funny, my Dad is 93 and was in his late 20s when he used to walk downtown and remembers seeing these "fancy" guitars hung in Music Store windows. But he said that you could buy a used car for what those guitars cost in 1959, and only the "rich kids" would have a guitar like that - and most kid's parents bought them a $10 Sears Roebuck special...! Those can still make music. If I lived back then I would have worked for guitars.

He was just hanging out talking cars in the tiny parking lot at the Baked Potato before the show (He had a '68 Plymouth I believe). Very accessible, amazing show for "Rock Candy Funk Party"!

Hi Norm and Joe, love you guys and love this best guitar show ever. Back in 1970s my friend bought a black beauty 3pickup, I think he paid 800 and sold it for 1500 . In Toronto . He also had a custom white 3 pickup sg all gold plated. If he only new holly shit.

I sincerely hope that it will not be some sort land-based network or cable service that would be only reachable in North America..
