Seeing how advanced the process is, imagine how expensive a similarly cut diamond would've been in a time when we didn't have the same technological advancement?

I'm surprised there is this much information available. I heard this industry is very hard to get into and it takes a long time to learn how to do this type of work. I was a bit disappointed to not see how the stone is actually cut. And the one stone had a number etched into it and it was not discussed.

Look it up - polishing stones etc is an ancient art and what you have just seen, and some have just ridiculed, is the truly beautiful result since mankind first flaked off flint to use for cutting meat.
There seems to be no respect for the achievements of mankind because people are so ignorant of history and the effort that has gone before over millennia. The diamond memorializes that to me because I understand historically what has gone before.
