Not true. In the lab, a lab diamond can be differentiated from natural with an elegant machine tool. So in truth, they aren’t actually the same exact chemical property. Also there is a GIA equiv to lab diamonds due to the influx of sellers lying to consumers that CZ are lab diamonds.
@@VBoo459 You are correct that lab-created diamonds and natural diamonds can be differentiated using specialized equipment. While both share identical chemical and physical properties (both being made of carbon in a crystal lattice structure), subtle differences in trace elements and crystal growth patterns can be detected by sophisticated tools. Regarding the chemical properties, it's worth noting that the term 'same exact chemical properties' typically refers to the primary composition (carbon atoms in a diamond lattice). It is actually quite accurate. I've used vapor deposition to form an electroless copper plating on plastic as a base for subsequent nickel electroplating and the atoms you fire at the target do behave like rays of light, because in near vacuum they travel in straight lines.
Most of diamonds sold are severely overpriced. When buying $100, when selling you will get between $25 to $50 max. Even if you sell them next day, its price has depreciated to atleast half. The rule is simple When buying = precious stone When selling = semi precious stone

I have a 4 carat wedding ring that's lab grown I get tons of compliments. You can't tell it's lab grown. A lady recently approached me asking did my husband spend 50,000 on my ring.😊
Lab Diamond: This is definitely the first time I've come across this method of production. And the biggest factor that grabs my attention is the fact that, once Lab Diamonds are finished with all their manufacturing processes and ready to be displayed on the high streets, an individual would not be able to spot the difference between a mine sourced and lab produced diamond jewellery set. Unless, the selling party release the details of the source of production, then one cannot tell the difference. With the only exception being the price tag. When it comes to such high end and lavish purchases, society does not want the "synthetic" choice. People that wear diamonds are typically from the wealthy demographic in society. And want the real, genuine selection, not something that mimics the real thing. Diamond is not a material which is seen as a everyday commodity. And not something which is associated with an impulsive purchase. For example, the woman who wanted to gift her sister a diamond item that is pocket friendly. So, it's all about perceptions when it comes to diamonds. The people who would have to work a few years to save up for a diamond ring or bracelet, they will have found a more sustainable solution in lab diamond. I think the members of society from the high class demographic, will not want to go to a global scale award ceremony, wearing lab grown/produced diamonds.
The bad news for the diamond business is that you cannot tell the difference between real and created stones EVEN under a jewller's loupe. If the jewellery buying public could be educated, diamonds as a "show of love" would pretty much lose their value.
I couldn't care less if it upsets the rich. I bought my wife earrings with two carat lab grown diamonds. She loves them and doesn't care that they were a fraction of the price of mined stones.
Well, the price will inevitably drop, thus making even mined/natural diamonds less attractive to wealthy people, they will move on to something else to pursue pleasure and seek status. Diamond mining business is coming to an end, just a matter of time.
@@timetraveler_0 Diamonds, jewels and pearls are what the wealthy use to wra and decorate themselves with. It'll never be something the wealthy, just "outgrow" because it's part of their customs.

Not sure what De Beers was doing could be considered a “good job” as they create the illusion of scarcity while in fact diamonds are not rare and are in abundance. If you fancy rare stones then go for the real rare one instead of the engineered-rare-items constructed by society (and big corporations)
I'm not fun of diamonds, but I like the idea of less "BLOD DIAMONDS " and more LAB CREATED DIAMONDS. Very interesting, good luck with your business!!!
Natural always the best in all aspects
I prefer coloured gems like Ruby, Emerald and saphir…..But amethyst is easily available because it’s made of volcanic lava ,apart from other precious gems.
Gold can be carved into various designs, looks classy , unlike gems. So many designs you can make in gold, it’s boring to fix gems in it.

these type of technology developed, these are precious gems, it does not have a continuous supply and they are in some pockets only, not widely available. There is lot of difference between something you got 30-40 years ago and now. These things are not widely available.

I love lab grown and real. They both shine the same. ❤
1:56 why lie? You can ABSOLUTELY tell between a horrid lab grown diamond compared to natural.
if you know anything about Indian culture, you would know that they wouldnt care.
No you cannot, both are the same chemically...the lab-grown ones are with less faults, and no blood or putin involved.
The only tell is that lab-grown diamonds are synthetically perfect, while naturally occuring ones have more blemishes and flaws in their design.
Synthetic ones are cheaper too.
Having said that, synthetic diamonds labs are basically everywhere, this has nothing to do with India whatsoever.
1:35 "Letting the diamonds mature under the rays of science." I must have been distracted when my professors lectured about 'Science Rays'. 🤔
It is actually quite accurate. I've used vapor deposition to form an electroless copper plating on plastic as a base for subsequent nickel electroplating and the atoms you fire at the target do behave like rays of light, because in near vacuum they travel in straight lines.
The first city where you Britishers opened a factory.
that was nice of us
Love this....i know what my gift for my daughter will be this year!!
Most of diamonds sold are severely overpriced. When buying $100, when selling you will get between $25 to $50 max. Even if you sell them next day, its price has depreciated to atleast half. Goes to show what a poor investment a diamond is. For that matter most coloured stones too - when you buy they are oo la la blood red ruby from Burma that will cost a fortune, when you go to sell, you get peanuts.
The rule is simple
When buying = precious stone
When selling = semi precious stone
The city literally has the world's biggest office, even bigger than the pentagon, but bbc being bbc, chose to show the dirty streets of Surat.
The market for jewellery grade diamonds is very small compared to industrial grade tools and abrasives ,are these diamonds produced cheap enough to satisfy that universal demand?
Which is better for the environment? Lab grown or mined? I’m sure lab grown requires a lot of energy.
The natural ones are mined in Botswana or Russia using pretty much slave labor lol. Atleast with lab grown you can use renewable energy down the line.
Heros to men’s wallets everywhere
"Letting the diamonds mature under the rays of science" What does that mean?
Very nice 👍
These people are genius and are producing an amazing array of diamonds that will be sweeping the world and be affordable for those that work hard and want the opportunity to one day own a Dimond.
That is what these new generation people are wearing……. 😊
Have you seen the designs these present generation wear, really tacky .
For some people like only ruby ,don’t like emeralds and sapphires.
There is something way better than diamonds in the medieval village of Chillingbourne.
What's that?

Lab grown diamonds can be perfect. Mined diamonds contain inclusions so they are actually inferior.
That's been going on since 2006 . When, I sold all my Girlfriend's Diamond rings !

It is rarely to see that so called BBC news is showing the truth news of India.
I have a 4 carat wedding ring that's lab grown I get tons of compliments. You can't tell it's lab grown. A lady recently approached me asking did my husband spend 50,000 on my ring.😊
It is still very expensive! Only competition will bring the prices down. Wait 20 years, they will less than a fraction of the cost.
You can tell the difference with instrument
@@timetraveler_0 Diamonds, jewels and pearls are what the wealthy use to wra and decorate themselves with.
It'll never be something the wealthy, just "outgrow" because it's part of their customs.
The reason why the industry flourished is because of the demand. When you begin mass production the demand becomes low. Multiply that to the number of companies now able to make them. Time will come it becomes worthless. So this makes it unsustainable but just for quick revenue for a short period of time
Diamonds do last forever. My mother in law has a diamond ring of her wedding. She got it like 40 years ago!
The ring is made of gold which now looks pretty dusty and dull but the diamond looks damn new! I mean you can just tell if its a real one. It just shines, even after 4 decades!
Beautiful ❤❤❤
There is a difference between lab grown and natural diamonds for a jeweler. Because a lab grown diamond is so perfect without inperfections compared to a natural diamond. With the naked eye it is not able to see

To be honest, many countries can mass-produce diamonds. If you buy a diamond, it will not retain its value. No one will buy it. If you buy it, it will be yours for life.
Diamonds, in itself and as a product, are hugely overhyped.
Their production, in reality, is HUGE. However, their supply is artificially restricted to keep the price high.
Lab-grown diamonds, and companies that are honest about their products, are disrupting this setup
Diamonds are no longer forever.

Carbon sequestration by turning it into diamonds?
Fake diamonds are fake diamonds. Nothing beats the real thing. De beers rules!
It’s not fake - it’s lab grown - molecularly they are identical - a bunch of carbon atoms
It misses the whole point of diamonds. People like them because they were made over thousands of years by mother nature. Don't get me wrong there will be a market of cheapskates for them, but it won't beat demand for the naturally made ones. Will be more fakes in already saturated market tho, which I'm sure India will cash in on.
Before this lab-grown diamonds, there was “recycled” diamonds. Both are good enough to fool the experts. This industry is not regulated. They are not required to tell the consumers which one is the “real” ones. They probably should be. 🤷🏼♂️😀
