After seeing mk conquest on hbo max, I swear her actress was dubbed in from time to time. Also, goes to show that even omegis at least puts more effort in her acting and is entertaining beyond fan service

why is Siro and Taja training for mortal kombat? isn't the next tournament in 50 years? I think they'll be a bit too old by then and we've already seen how worthless they'll be when they're old. this whole premise is kind of a plot hole because even kids he starts training now would be pushing sixty by the time the next tournament comes. h wow. I just watch the next episode reveiw where Phelous brings up this exact point in the first five minutes.
The only reason for Kung Lao to train others is so his kombat knowledge can be used by future generations if he loses the next tournament. Could've been an interesting concept to explore, but nope. Probably didn't even occur to the producers.
Was it the same alley from Undying Dream? If so, then perhaps the alley is actually Conquest's version of the Earthrealm portal that leads to the Nexus between the realms, a la Mortal Kombat: Deception.

Hey Phelous I watched your review of the last episode and since that won't be up on youtube for quite a while I thought I'd just share this with you now. In your review of MKC: Vengeance you said that your region recently got a DVD release. While there were already DVDs for the series in my home country (the UK) it was a nightmare to watch the series over here as well since, instead of showing the episodes in order, they made the curious decision to give each DVD it's own theme. So the 1st DVD showed the 1st 3 episodes and then skipped straight to Serpent and the Ice and then there'd be DVDs that had all the Quan Chi or Kreeya episodes or, for some reason, the episodes with the fortune teller Reptiles. Yes they put out a DVD focusing on the character who only had a major role in two episodes.
+Phelan “Phelous” Porteous Hey could you send me a link to the actual full episodes? I cant find them anywhere online at least forr free. If you know where I can watch them I would be super greatful. Thanks man.
geyck That is the ultimate highlight of this show...hot women in skimpy clothing, but terrible acting, bad writing, bad special effects, obvious stunt fighting, no serialization, and little-to-no logic being put into anything that is going on in each episode.
Neo-Xgray87 I also get the vibe that this show didn't have a plan for the plot. Not even foreshadowing. Also, is omegis one of the better actresses that has hotness and has character ?
Eh, the thing for me is that Conquest always had the hint of something good behind it. Like... conceptually I think it's one of the best spin offs of Mortal Kombat out there. Not just rehashing (badly) a particular game or being a terrible immediate prequel that breaks the lore of the first game like Mythologies, turning Sub Zero into Tsang Tsung's lackey again. There's always the glimmer of something really decent in an episode on the drawing board. The downside for me isn't really the stunt fighting or the acting so much though as... well... the serialization. Like with the main three characters you have Kung Lao, Siro, and Taja. You also have the three roles of Unimportant, Raging Asshole, and Pacifist Good Guy. And on any given episode the roles were mixed among the three characters with no consistency. I mean yeah they crap over the canon with the likes of Scorpion and Sub Zero. But I kind of get it as it's Mortal Kombat and the executives were likely going "you HAVE to have the Ninjas, it's the most marketable characters!" Just it seems (From watching the series, not sure if it's true) that they were likely on a shoestring budget with scripts finalized right before shooting, sets done ad hoc, costuming last minute, etc. It's not too unusual from what I gather (like the Original Star Trek had similar problems, often not even filming scenes until the day of airing), the problem is... there was less talent in the writing and directorial staff.
Neo-Xgray87 I watched all the episodes at the time and have seen them since. The actors were pretty good but...this series made me angry. In 22 episodes there were actually good episodes. But most could have been better . Others who saw this pointed out the inconsistent writing, the obvious stunt doubles, the usually lame fights. Let's talk about the 'budget' and how this had to be done on the cheap.
