So, your weapon scales damage based on your 'soft humanity' the number next to your health bar, up to 9. More humanity means more fire damage. You can farm baby skeletons for easy humanity drops, rats also drop it.

Pinwheel really does have far too menacing an intro for how little fight he has in him. My first and only encounter with him, I showed up with 40 STR/DEX and a Lifehunt Scythe. So the fight was me walking up to him, R2, R2, R2 and noticing during the third swing that I'm taking about 40% of his health bar each hit. Also, there is a bonfire in the Tomb of the Giants, but it's easy to miss.
For me it's still the swamp. But yeah Tomb of Giants was also quite a pain. But I love these doggos. They are so scary - at this point Dark Souls became a horror game.
Congrats, man! You did pretty well with Nito. You won't need to come back here anymore... unless you haven't found the Silver Serpent Ring. That little ring gives you +20% souls from killing enemies. Therefor it is recommended if you want to spare farming soulfarming time. If you want to find it, it is located in the Tomb of Giants where there is a skeleton archer and two dogs around a hole. Where the Black Knight fell off. There is a loot on a corpse next to the archer. Drop off into the dark where the corpse is pointing out with it's right hand and you will reach a platform that leads to three loot-lights in a triangle position (just like where that douchebag kicked you down, but it is a second "triangle"). Two of those lights are Large Souls, each gives you 5000 souls when you consume them. The third is the ring. But when you touch one of them, six skeleton columns will emerge from the ground around you so be quick. You can also upgrade Quelaag's Furysword with demon titanites. You gotta need a total of 10 of them to upgrade to +5, and that's the maximum. Having humanities up to 10 will increase the sword's fire damage. Finally, don't forget to give the Fire Keeper Souls to the "mute" girl. If you kill the golden knight fire keeper in Anor Londo, you will get another one, but you will no longer be able to sit down at that bonfire. That sucks, but you can fast travel anyway. The last pro tip for farming: Painted world of Ariamis. A-RI-A-MIS btw. The spearmen blobs around the statue is what you need. If you kill all of them, you get 8000 soul, almost 10,000 if you have the Silver Serpent Ring on. And since thye are super close to the bonfire, this is the best farming place in the whole game. If you have 1000-1100 health, that is kinda plenty. Your gear is fine, too. So now you can focus on Dexterity. Keep on struggling, champ.
