Hey techies! In this video we do a drop test of a working apple macbook! We drop it from several heights including 3 feet and 5 feet! The macbook is dropped closed, on its side and also with the laptop opened and on. Do you think the laptop is going to survive all the drops?!

I dropped my hp pavilion x360 accidentally from the table, it was like a 1 foot fall. Nothing major happened. Some of the lining was loose so I pushed it back in but there is now a small dent on the keyboard edge coz it landed on it's edges in the tent position. Otherwise it is functioning properly

I dropped my brand new 2017 15 inch from 6 feet off a shelf in a bathroom. It hit edge first on the screen side, bounced, then slid. Still works, no cracks or screen damage. I can't believe all system's normal. It took a HARD slam dive.

Just dropped mine from a 3,5-4 foot table. Not even a scratch surprisingly. Also, I once poured tea all over it and it even survived that (immediately opened it and blasted it with a dryer and then put it in a few towels). Insane how durable nowadays' macs are
It turned off because it’s an automatic forced shutdown when the system detects collision/fall damage. This is a precautionary measure developed by Apple as a means of preventing firmware and motherboard damage. And I just made all that shit up but thanks for reading.
this should actually be more durable than 2017 models because from my use, this first unibody model was a hard shell thick ass laptop
I came here after my 2020 MacBook fell off the back of my Corolla not realizing I left it there 🤦🏽♂️. Fortunately, found it in the street and it’s still works, but the mouse pad is cracked 🥺😢. Drink responsibly folks.

Well the second generation vs the third or fourth (though the 4th didn't exist when this was made) is such an unfair fight because the second gen is an absolute tank while the 3rd is so freaking brittle with it using the lcd itself as the glass and it uses the aluminum as its housing unlike other LCDs which are a unit inside the outer shell

The last couple drops weren't entirely thorough as none of the mac's internals did receive any collision force but the screen's frame , which unsurprisingly got bent

i use the exact same macbook as a daily driver in uni. mine flew through my whole car recently because i forgot it on the backseat. was afraid if its still working but mine only ended up with a few scratches luckily.
I tried to skip back with the arrows... accidently clicked 0 instead. I kept spamming 0 and something really funny happy with his voice!! :) Try it and see. It will only work if you press it at the right speed.

Ouch!! I just dropped my macbook pro from 4 feet height. The left corner dented a little. I hope the screen stays okay for the following days. lucky to have my MacBook cover on if not it would be worst. Just in case, can the screen be fixed or replaced?
They are very reliable machines, I have a MBP 2021 with M1 pro processor and my sister dropped it from 5 feet, no damage sustained except a dent in the body, otherwise all other components seem to be working fine, and most importantly that expensive ass liquid HDR display did not get damaged, I'm saved. Seriously considering buying that apple care subscription

You should do an updated version, with the newer macbooks. I've been seeing lots of news about macbooks breaking way too easily, especially the screen. And this is the only macbook durability test video i have found.

I have a question for you people. I was using my iPhone SE 2020 a week ago, and it brushed up against the lid of my 2020 MacBook Air and scratched it. But a couple of days ago, I had it in my blanket when I was taking a nap. It fell off my bed and landed on my wood floor. The laptop itself doesn't have a single scratch. Does anyone know why this is the case?

Im feeling a little relieved after readings some comments. I am so used to dropping my iphone frequently but not my laptop! Effin hell I tripped on my cables just now and it dropped about 3 ft from my table. It did not hit the screen but I’m using mac air, it’s back is so thin and I am scared of the damage😰. Dang still working and not freezing on me yet. My iphone is more expensive but i need my laptop for work. I hope it doesn’t drop again, so stressful!!!! And yeah, so looks like mac books are dropped resistance based on this test lol!

I had mines off & drop by mistake about 3ft on wood laminates. I got a humming noise. I called apple support and they told me to press shift and start button and that took off the noise Thank God. No damages but I turn it on but I now hear a very very low fan noise. Will be backing everything. I gona have A computer expert check it out
