- In this video I go over my last week settlement and also discuss somethings that happened along the week! #inform #educate #motivate #jbhunt #owneroperator #businessowner #cdl #Trucking #truckdriver #DOTinspection #LeftLaneRider
Man is so refreshing to find a UA-camr whose description is actually what the video is about. Man no BS intro,no extra unknown rap song forced to listen to No smacking of the screen, Straightforward info!!!! Can't wait to see how this channel grows. keep up the good work bro. Bless you and your family.
Thanks! God bless you and yours as well
Yes. I agree. Or rambling about what they ate or smoking a cigarette while doing the video.
Like the fact your videos are straight to the point . Keep going fam 💪🏾
💯
Thank you ❤
More great content, appreciated!
💯 thank you as well
Love the videos. Cheers from Vancouver BC Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks!!!!
Thanks for the information!
You’re welcome
Love your info - tanker driver but love to see what jb is doing
Thanks! And be safe on that road my friend
Love the video bro. Keep it up!
Thanks bruh!!!! 💯
You were so on point, informative and encouraging. ....I am getting my own truck in june and will come to KB HUNT
Congratulations on that up coming purchase! A lot of things have changed at jb since that video do your homework before you go
This is a great video brother very good experience with JBH , do think less miles loads paying better than longer miles load’s, thanks again
Thanks for the feedback! Yes in these times with rates low and fuel high it make sense to get the short runs in my opinion
Yes definitely I do
I’m feeling motivated and I actually learnt stuff.
💯 my guy
You’re right brother, they have the freight. Its been pretty good over here so far, I don’t have any complaints.
💯 my guy glad everything running smoothly
Sounds like good advice to me. I started running loads that are 550 miles or less paying around 1000 to 1500 daily. Short loads are good especially with fuel being high. Another video that I can relate too.
You ain't getting $1500 for 550 miles in this market , so stop bullshitting maestro , aint no owner ops getting $3.00 a mile in this market , your lucky if your getting $2.10 a mile
At the time of this video that’s what that lane was paying if you’ve watch my recent videos you’ll see the market has changed! I have no reason to BS you or anyone on this channel!
@@MrUniversal357 I didn't JB hunt for a long time guy , and JB hunt ain't paying no owner operator $3.40 a mile like your stating , you are saying you grossed $5600 for 1700 miles , no way with Jbhunt , your gross is $4300 , your failing to mention the 25% that Jb hunt takes , all of idiots use UA-cam as a way to think your impressing people 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. You are not showing what Jbhunts cut off your loads are . And what lane are you talking about , you said it was loadboard , lanes are dedicated , lanes are very seldom on a loadboard only when emergencys happen , your a bullshitter
@@seanburdelik5216 jb hunt does gets 35% of the line haul and when I give my numbers that’s what comes to the truck! I have no reason to lie or make something look better than what it is! I make ok money at Jb Hunt but what works for me may not work for you! Rates are low and fuel is high and right JB hunt is the best place for me and my truck
Thanks 🙏
You’re welcome
Great video brotha! You keep it a buck 💯 I appreciate the honesty and transparency
💯 my guy! Greatly appreciated
@@MrUniversal357who are you currently with now? Are you with JB or Landstar?
@David-cu9gz LandStar
I appreciate this video I have ic orientation in forest park Monday
You’re welcome and congratulations on your new journey
@@MrUniversal357 I appreciate it brotha and I hope to chop it up with ya one day
You’re welcome my guy! Most definitely we can chop it up I’m a open book! Hit my email we’ll exchange numbers! universaltransportation112@gmail.com
You would have been better to take the citation vs warning. You can not fight a warning, a ticket you can do so.
I’m currently a company driver for J.B. hunt now and have been for a year. Now I’m in the process of leasing through them and this video gives me hope! Wish me luck man!
💯 best of luck in your new adventure
Appreciate you bro!!
@@RumbleFighterZinie 💯 you’re welcome
@@RumbleFighterZinie did you ever lease from them? And if you did how’s it going! I’m a company driver too
I leased on but never leased from them! I left JB a month ago
excellent video, one question, the JBH loads do not pay for diesel?
You get a fuel surcharge that helps with some of the cost
Thinking about coming over to JB. How is it now?
I’ve been gone for almost a year! Hunt has changed so much I strongly suggest doing you homework first
Thanks for the info in the video. I got a question: I’m hearing that if you come on with JBH and then happens to quit (for whatever reasons) they won’t allow you to come back if you want. So is that true? Or is it more to the story or like a time period?
I don’t know! I haven’t heard that one
You don’t take tax out, food , maintenance, how much they pay por mile ?thanks for sharing .
I pay myself .35% of what the truck nets, and the business gets the other .65% that covers my maintenance, taxes, truck not etc! I usually take $100.00 a week out for my eating on the road and the $100.00 comes out of my .35%
Hello sir first I would like to thank you for your videos and I was wondering if you could connect me with a mechanic I can pay to inspect a truck before I purchase in Atlanta, GA
Hello, I don’t know any mechanics in Ga my mechanic in Mississippi
You have automatic truck? How much experience you had when you bought this truck and how many miles it had when you first bought ? What is monthly gross average?
Manual, 15 years experience when purchased, 462,000 miles, when rates was up about $32000.00 gross a month with rates low about $26000.00 gross a month
How do I calculate my fuel that I need.......
Let’s say your truck doing 6.8 mpg and the trip is 400 miles! 400 divided by 6.8 is 58. So you’ll need 58 gallons to run that trip
Do you have a video going over the pay & expenses. I can't find this information anywhere. How often do you get home running regional? Thx
All my settlement video give a brief overview of that. I was home every weekend plus I’d get home a day during the week but I’m no longer at JB Hunt
@Universal The Truck Driver I was just watching that video on why you left. That was one the reasons why I'm afraid to go to JB because you'll probably have to compete with company drivers. I was considering JB or Landstar. I was trying to get in the door at JB so I could switch to Intermodal in atlanta whenever position open.
Go to LandStar they was my first choice after I left JB but the hiring process was taking to long so I cane to CloudTrucks wish I would have waited
My question is what is the Percentage that jb hunt take out per load
35%
@MrUniversal357 they take out that much too thz u
@MrJojogud yes sir most of all these mega carriers grabbing 35%
Question , out of those 1,000$-1500$ short load trips you take , is it after the 35% for jb hunt or its the total line haul ? Thanks
yeah thats after JB has gotten their 35%. Whenever i talk numbers I only give whats paid to the truck
@@MrUniversal357 thanks man , I appreciate your videos and also you replying. Stay safe out there 💪🏻
@@that1randomdude99 thanks fam you’re appreciated too! Stay safe as well
Bout to come over to jb hunt, am I going to have problems finding trailers?
Sooner or later you will no going to lie! But in the trucking game we’ll never have the perfect company or situation
@@MrUniversal357 money good over there right tho
To me yes! But depends on what you trying to bring home a week
Could you give the miles on the runs? Man what a waste looking for trailers.
I only run trips I can do on one clock
But I shoot for 300-450 mile runs
@@MrUniversal357 That seems like the best way to run for me. Just easier all the way around. Good to see you're doing it profitably.
@@ronjordan2831 yes sir with rates low and fuel high short runs are the way to go! Thanks
Was the fuel surcharge a part of that gross
Yep
What are requirements to getting on with JB Hunt?
6 months of experience to lease a truck from SFI. Pass hair and urine test. Pass background check. Have copy of title front and back. Bill of Sale. 2290 and Active EIN. Lease Agreement ( If leasing the truck) DOT Inspection ( dated with 30 days)
Im trying to do this too, i work for jb hunt too..why did you pick OTR instead of something local like intermodal ?
First time working for a mega carrier all I knew about was OTR!
@@MrUniversal357 ok cool i do intermodal sometimes over here in Washington state and its not that bad, how long did it take for you to get the truck because they told me it would take 6 months because of the shortage. Thanks for the response.
@@limbanimkorongo1061 it was last year in match when I purchased it was a 2-3
Day process
@@MrUniversal357 wow ok cool will get on the list and see how it goes. Thanks for the information 👍🏾
@@limbanimkorongo1061 I got my truck from a dealership not SFI
Are you from Fayetteville by any chance
I’m from Mississippi
are you dh from kathleen ga to charlotte nc?
No sir!
So do you not have to pay for insurance?
Plates $40.00 a week
Insurance was very cheap I really don’t remember what the exact numbers was. When I first started I was paying like $380.00 a week for all fees plus escrow one I reached $3K in escrow $100.00 stop coming out. I was paying $100.00 a week for tolls! And the rest was insurance plates and other little addons
Out of that 3k do you gotta take your truck payment out of that
If I took my truck note out weekly I’d be deducting $267.25
@@MrUniversal357 so be honest with me is this unrealistic I'm trying net 2500 take home a week after everything is paid fuel ,truck payment, a certain percentage for maintenance etc
I truly believe you can! I leave a lot of money on the table every week. I leave on Monday come home most the time one day during the week and be home Friday by dark! If I pulled out on Sunday and stayed out til Friday that’s a $2500.00-$3000.00 added to my net but I got some other things I’m working on so I’m sacrificing a lil rite now until they project is completed.
universaltransportation112@gmail.com
Hit me the email let’s exchange numbers
Ok thank you imma email you
So even with fuel situation would you say it’s okay for someone to lease right now ? Also did you get truck from sfi leasing through someone ? Pls answer both
I would say it’s still ok! But before a person makes a move into leasing make sure you have your household in order meaning don’t have no outrageous overhead in your personal life! No I didn’t go through SFI i bought my truck from FreightLiner dealership. I have a monthly payment of $1069.00
Oh okay okay so if I get you correctly sounding like down payment financing situation ?
Yeah that what I did! But there’s nothing wrong with going through SFI. Everyone situation is different
@@MrUniversal357 😳😳🙌🙌 This is an awesome video that I came across. I'm coming on with JBH shortly, and by the way, I'm from MS too.😎
@@jeanetteshavers6730 glad you enjoyed the video frfr!!! When you get over here hit me up if you need any help! Mississippi in the house
do they pay you to go get an mty
Yes
You forgot to mention your total miles that you ran for that week
About 714 empty, 1734 loaded, 2448 total!
@@MrUniversal357
Wow 714 deadhead is high, but in these times I am hearing a lot of high mileage deadheading
@@MrUniversal357
Are you pulling container or dry Van
Yeah very high, but before I pull a load that doesn’t pay or fit in my schedule I’ll dead head!
What lanes are you running?
Ga, and Tennessee but they have dried up! Looks like all the freight has shifted to the Midwest and East Coast
@@MrUniversal357 really? I'm considering running our of Houston area intermodal
@@biggame2175 that’s what’s up! I don’t know to much about the intermodal side though
@@MrUniversal357 thanks I'm hearing 4k a week gross. Which is all I need
