How does the Suhr Reactive Load behave with the Bassman. As far as I know the Suhr is 8ohms and the Bassman only has a 4ohm output. With the Reacitive Load IR being active do find it is adding any noise or is it just as quiet as the regular Suhr RL? Thanks!

Thanks Mr Simon! The built in IRs seem to have a strong and present short reverb. Did you add this in post or is do all of the IRs have this effect? It's a little difficult to hear the decay of the guitar signal clearly because of it.
Love my Suhr Reactive Load, but I wish it would have a speaker load selector so I can use my 68 Fender Vibrolux which is an 4 ohm amp. @@SimonGotthelfMusic Hi Simon.. i'm probably going to look a bit stupid here.. (nothing new) but will this work with my Marshall combo with a 16 Ohm speaker extension?
kubr1ck36 Not stupid at all. It has to be an 8 ohm output so you don’t damage your amp. There is not a 16 ohm version of the Suhr RL. But I would think your amp has an 8 ohm output? Hope this helps 😊Cheers

Yes you can do that and you will record everything like using a mic in front of the cabinet. Another option is to run the effects after the Suhr RL and record the stereo output of the reverb into your DAW. That will be a little more like adding effects in the studio (in the mix). Cheers Simon
Simon Gotthelf Gear Demos thank u , man im on d fence of kemper route or recording my amps this way. Any experience with kemper modelers compare to recording into loadboxes
Hafiz Wahab Both are great. I have a Kemper too and is is great for recording. Not a tube amp but still a great tool. Cheers
Are you able to attenuate the speaker out level at all with this?
Andy Holley It is not an attenuator with level control. It will load down your amp without a cab but if you connect a guitar cab to the RL the sound will be the same volume as without the RL. Cheers
How loud does the unit get? I have Two Notes Captor and the fan and slight sound of the guitar is actually pretty noticeable. Obviously nothing compared to a cranked up into a speaker cab but still kinda annoying.
Keith Saavedra Not very loud at all. I have the Captor too and that fan is much much louder. With the Suhr RL it is not a problem. I have used the original for the past couple of year and it works. Cheers
@@SimonGotthelfMusic Good to know. Thanks for the quick reply
What camera and lens do you use to record your videos Simon?
This video is recorded with my new Panasonic GH5 and Panasonic Lumix 12-35 lens. I really like it. Cheers
@@SimonGotthelfMusic Thanks dude. Awesome production.
placidbomb Thanks man 🙏
That Bassman is sweet! Great playing, btw. Can't help but admire your guitar collection :)
Peter Ganev Thanks man :)
How does the Suhr Reactive Load behave with the Bassman. As far as I know the Suhr is 8ohms and the Bassman only has a 4ohm output. With the Reacitive Load IR being active do find it is adding any noise or is it just as quiet as the regular Suhr RL? Thanks!
Eduard Manvelyan My Bassman is 8ohm out so no problem. Other Bassmans I have used have been 8ohm too BTW. And absolutely no noise. Cheers Simon
Have you had any success using headphones with this unit? Im connecting via sennheiser hd280's and am getting quite possibly the worst guitar tone I have ever gotten.
Hi Nick. I am sorry to hear that. In fact I have never used it with headphones myself, so I don´t really know. But I have had same kind of experience with Kemper and other digital gear. Something about connecting headphones directly to the unit is kind of putting your ears right in front of the speaker cone... I don´t know? But I like the Suhr RL very much and use it every day for recording LOUD amps :)
cheers Simon
Sorry if this is a silly question, can you run a preamp straight into this to go to the board?
Cody Carrig I don´t think that would work because you need the powersection of the amp too. Cheers Simon
Thanks Mr Simon! The built in IRs seem to have a strong and present short reverb. Did you add this in post or is do all of the IRs have this effect? It's a little difficult to hear the decay of the guitar signal clearly because of it.
apshinyn Reverb is a plugin (Waves Abbey Road Plate). All IRs are mono close mics. Cheers Simon
also, maybe my cheap ass head phones, though the bass is too strong, is there a way to cut?
Scott Mac probably just my mix? 😊 the RL does not have a low cut, but I have not found it to be bass heavy at all... cheers
Love my Suhr Reactive Load, but I wish it would have a speaker load selector so I can use my 68 Fender Vibrolux which is an 4 ohm amp. My amp tech said that is not a good ide to run it at 8 ohm since I usually run the volume at 8. I was hoping the new one would have it like the new Fryette Power load.
George Alayon I agree, have the same problem with my old Vox. It’ running on 16 ohms. Cheers
@@SimonGotthelfMusic Unfortunately i can only see one speaker extension option. But i think i'll talk myself into buying a new amp because this Suhr box looks great. Thanks for taking the time to answer, Simon!! 😎✌️
@@SimonGotthelfMusic The Fender Vibrolux only has a 4 ohm speaker output. I bought a new 68 Vibrolux that was modified by Alessandro who rewired it to a point to point circuit and changed the transformer to the original 68 Vibrolux specs. I use my Fryette Power Station which has ohm selector on input(amp) and output(speaker) when cranking the Vibrolux from 4 to 10.
Suhr owes you a life-debt after this
trahnettilhcs Ha ha okay Thanks... that´s something :) I am very happy you like it. Cheers Simon
This does not attenuate right?
Nope. You can record dead silent using this as a load or you can run through it to a cab at full volume (and still record with the DI/IR out ) Cheers Simon
@@SimonGotthelfMusic Got it. Thank you!
