The State of California is going to lose big time, because all of the high end motor homes are diesel and some of the best high end RV resorts are in California. So once the high end RV's like Prevost stop going to these high end luxury resorts the resorts will close tax revenue will dry up. Well I think you get the picture and no more diesel tractor trailers delivering goods and services to the state
You sure got it exactly right it will hurt CA people a lot more than people realize when a lot more of the people who pay most of the taxes move out of the state.
I saw the same headline on FB, but, someone wrote that they are not banned but will require a yearly emissions test and certification sticker...from my Google question came this : "Clean Idle Provision Starting January 1, 2024, all heavy-duty diesel engines in motorhomes must have a "Clean Idle" label. This label certifies that the engine meets CARB's idle emissions standards."
Yes this was the case starting in January 2024. The ACT regulation begins in Jan 2025 and requires the gradual transition to ALL new vehicles over 8,500 lbs GVWR to be Zero emissions vehicles (ZEVs) by 2035. The problem is the “plan” for the gradual transition requires manufacturers of the chassis to produce a percentage of ZEVs in order to be allowed to produce the Diesel powered chassis. Because there are NO ZEV alternatives for motorhomes they can’t fill the requirement so they won’t be allowed to produce ANY chassis to build the diesel motorhomes on.
You are correct for 2024 but in 2025 Clean idle sticker is required but also ACT which requires also 11% all electric which is not yet available for diesel motorhomes so none will be allowed to be registered in CA if built Jan 25 and later.
@@gary9080 oof....really ? I remember being on tour with a rock group in 1990. We were just coming down into the valley of L.A. from quite an elevation. Of course, the smog was a low cloud of this disgusting yellow/brown haze, but, even before we got down there my throat started to tickle and I had to keep clearing it. The irritation hit me quite a bit. Since then, CA has done remarkably well to clean things up. Also, we were in Chonqing China some years ago with a tour guide. 32M people ! It was quite overcast so I asked our guide if was going to rain ? He laughed and said, no, that's the smog. We haven't seen the sun without the haze in years !!! My thought is that China is alarmingly aware of pollution on quite a high level..they are going full o -full out to reduce emissions. They have to. After seeing that first hand, imho, we in North America do not want to get to that stage. No way. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Ha, Phillips Petroleum and refining is moving out of LA area at the end of 2025. All this due to Cali regulations. "Yes Igor, everything is working out according to plan, Soon we will be in control of the entire state!"
Read all the comments, funny ones, sad ones but it's true. A fix would be to divide the state up in 4 different states. North, South, Coastal and the Central Valley. The Central Valley would be for diesel pusher. So let us split up California as we know it today. A win win solution.
@purdyboi8078 That's a great attitude. Enjoy paying higher and higher taxes. Hey Einstein, it's not the freeloaders leaving CA it's taxpayers that are leaving and freeloaders that are moving in.
No, California has banned new natural gas powered stoves, furnaces and pool heaters. Plus gas powered generators, chain saws and yard tools are now illegal to sell. Everything must be electric. Yep, only electric from now on because the state now considers natural gas a "fossil fuel".
You shouldn't have any problem with any Class B that's available for sale right now. These regulations are mostly affecting future supply of RV's that are able to be sold in CA. Your dealer will be able to tell you if the unit you're interested in is CA Compliant.
And I left California in 2005 for Tennessee. The last straw for me was the city/county wanted a permit and blueprints from an architect/draftsman for a 10x12 storage shed on my 2.5 acres.if you stay in California this is on you and you can deal with it.
From what I read, the "monkey see....monkey do" states are following suit, to include Washinton, Oregon, Mass, New Jersey and Vermont. Personally, I foresee lawsuits in their futures. Calfifornia SUCKS. The wife and I are doing a cross-country tour in our horrible motorhome next year. When the wife brought up the West coast, I told her to forget it. My son was recently stationed in Bremmerton WA and we visited Seattle. What a dump! People crapping and shooting up drugs (yes, I witnessed both). One guy walking down the street totally nude! So....we never went back there during our second visit. Went to Portland.....same thing. Been to LA and San Fran. Never again! Sadly, the RV police probably wouldn't let us cross there border in our NON DEF motorhome.
@@druellapartee2010 Most of what we have in inventory now can still be sold to CA residents. There are a few that must be registered out of CA that we can hopefully sell to an out of state customer. The problem is it will kill the industry here because we won't be able to replace inventory with new products.
Our business sells primarily Class A diesel and Super C diesel motorhomes. We are a family business located solely in California and the majority of our customers are CA residents. These regulations are going to kill us and hurt most of our customers.
Keep voting democrat Grass Valley. That small went to hell when every third house had a pot grow and the homeless bums were being dumped in it from Sacramento. Left town in 2017 and have never returned.
Just got hit with the CA clean truck inspection program this year... 2001 Cat powered diesel pusher that we've owned for 14 years and drive less than 1000 miles per year in the state subject to smog testing and compliance fees effectively doubling the registration cost per year. Was told by inspector that if your diesel rig is pre-2008 it will eventually be banned entirely from state registration.
Correct me if I'm wrong...but as I understand, this regulation bans the sale of ALL motorhomes with a gross vehicle weight (GVWR) of over 8,500 pounds...not just diesel powered RV's. And, it's not just limited to California. This law has been adopted by Oregon, Washington, Mass, NJ and NY as well.
Yes - the ACT regulation affects all internal combustion engines with a GVWR over 8,500lbs in CA. Those other states have signed on as well but are allowed to delay implementation which most are doing. It’s a gradual process to replace all internal combustion engines with ZEVs by 2035. We’re seeing accelerated effects in the class A diesel and super c motorhomes because Freightliner and Spartan (the only chassis manufacturers) have announced that they won’t be able to meet the requirements and will not be building those motorhome chassis beginning next year.
California residents can’t buy a NEW class a diesel or super C beginning in 2025 because they don’t have available CA CARB compliant chassis to build them on. If you’re registering out of state you can buy them here and drive them here.
not true. just the democrats have allowed illegals to vote here. and they vote communist views. many people that are NOT democrats. are trapped here. and we can do nothing as our votes are not counted.
when traveling with our coach we avoid California at all cost not a state we want to travel in speed limit to slow for RV towing fuel cost too high roads are very bad traffic sucks why would you travel there at all
Short answer is we don't know yet. They are affected by the ACT regulation as well as the Clean Fleet and Omnibus regulations from California. I just saw an article saying that they're stopping production of some Super Duty trucks in CA.
In 2023 CARB passed a rule to ban a certain chemical in 2024 used in automotive refinishing…No automotive paint manufacturer has a replacement…They were blind sided..
Not new 2025 models of class A diesel and Super C, as the regulation is written now. The manufacturers are having a hard time getting chassis to build them on that are CA compliant and able to be registered in CA. So it wouldn’t help a CA resident to travel to another state to buy because they’d face the same issue when they tried to register it in CA.
I believe 6 other states are following suit. And there can’t be 1/1000th of the number of these on the road as there are semi trucks. And you know they have no intention of banning semi’s. It’s ridiculous!
GREAT NEWS FOR RV DEALERS IN NEVADA AND ARIZONA! Californians who want a diesel RV will just fly to Las Vegas or Phoenix or Reno, and buy their new toy there instead, then bring it back to California.
They won’t be able to register it in California. We can sell the same RVs that they can sell in Arizona and Nevada but CA won’t allow CA residents to register them.

Im thinking Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota and ease on over the very top to go up to Alaska. I dont even want to be in California, Washington or Oregon anymore. crime, drugs, regulations, forget about it. Might make a special trip to see the giant trees but thats it.
I am from California and have spent a lot of time in Or and Wa. You can still get some wonderful travel time in all of these states. It’s still doable. You definitely will pay a lot in Cali but in Or and Wa there’s places to get lost in the mountain and trees and enjoy. Don’t give up that now. I’m full time vanlife and even with everything going on I’ve done ok in these states.
@@epicelements5528 Well. Thats certainly good news to hear from a van lifer. Thank you for taking the time to let me know that.
@@Dagger-MooseTravel trailers are not banned in California. Crime, drugs, regulations, etc. being somehow unique to California, is just paranoia spooled up by red state media. If there’s a prison in your state, then there’s crime in your state. The closest most visitors get to being robbed in California is at the fuel pump.
Unelected officials are making it impossible to live in Ca.
C.A.R.B. has too much influence on what the rest of the states on which vehicles that people can buy.
The unfortunate thing is California has been granted it own regulation status on emissions. You will not stand a chance with CARB.
This was granted in 1967 under the Federal Clean Air Act. This needs to be repealed at the federal level. As long as California can set its own standards it will continue to be nationwide.
LEAVE CALIFORNIA TO LET THEM SUFFER THEIR OWN CONSEQUENCES.....WHAT A HORRID GOVERNMENT TO RUIN SUCH A BEAUTIFUL STATE AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.....
Why give them what they want? Stay the fight.
I'm for the environment but giving business no viable options is just short sighted. The loss of tax revenue and jobs in the RV market is going to have repercussions for communities.
I usually remind people that they vote for this crap.
They get what they enjoy and vote for.
only the inter city's. and computer voting.
most of the state is red. just the LATGER vote counts are in city's. not in rule cal.
we have to suffer what is rammed down our throats by the soceledt democrat party.
they want complete control over everything here.
To hell with california
We need Trump back in the White House BADLY!!
Your best solution like so many other individuals and businesses, Is to leave California for an American State. The failed States of one Party rule no longer have a sustainable economy. The worst part for us left in California is the complicit acceptance of lower standards of living.
Many retired individuals move as soon as possible in order to continue traditional retirement life styles. You can still visit California for it's beauty and for family choosing to stay. But leave to go home in your traditional American State.
left Calif. in 1974, so glad my husband and I have lived in other states. now in Idaho.
I live in CA and recently sold my Country Coach because they wanted me to register it with CARB and get annual smog inspections. This ruined my RV experience because the stress of the matter countered why I had an RV. I'm going to move out of the state and buy a hay farm with the money.
Should have keep it and just registered it in Montana that’s what i did before I move out of communist California a few years later.
@@mikewill1891 Yes, but I was already wondering if I should keep it, the maintenance and size of the rig was getting difficult for me as I get old. CARB helped me make the decision. Buying a hay farm in Nevada with the money.
Thanks Gavi.
I run a small landscape company.... in 2018 i had to buy a 2019 gas dump Isuzu truck at $52k because the diesel one I had didn't qualify to register in california (emissions). And now everything (equipment) needs to be battery operated... 1 trailer set up (I have 3) blower, trimmers, chainsaw, mower 21 inch deck, weedwacker in gas 5k ( commercial grade)...same equipment in battery 15k and batteries dont last 4hrs of work...
Zero turn mowers gas new is under 8k battery 30k thats F- stupid... good job, blue.
A zero emission RV would weigh more than the highway could support. Imagine hitting the road and finding you cannot cross the first bridge you come to due to weight restriction.
Ok but banning large trucks? Will delivering food and construction cease to exist in these states?
One of the reasons, I moved out of CA. Hope new administration over rule these new regulations.
Problem is they can't . That was big mistake from Reagan by creating CARB.
Yet another reason to not live in that State
State really needs to vote in some basic logic …
only one party controls the vote counting.
Just keep voting Democrat California. Just keep believing the stories you are being told.
Not good for diesel class A business. For me, doesn't matter. I'd leave this country before living in California.
This is just the beginning...
One thing here...this country during this year's election is about to possibly elect a CALIFORNIA based president...who is all for all these controls!!
That ain't happenin'!!!!
Vote Trump 2024
Thank God, that lunatic LOST.
Very simple solution people! Join Americas Mailbox in South Dakota! Problem solved...sales tax 4.5%. No state income or inheritance tax. No vehicle inspections!
People are deleting pollution systems on diesels.
That's ok everyone I know in CA registers it in another state because the fees in CA are already too high it will just push more people to do the same thing
Here in AZ we have had to get a yearly emission test on even older diesel pushers with no DEF or particulate filters so what’s the big deal just get them inspected.
Same testing is now required in CA but not good enough for the CARB for 2025 they want 11% all electric or nothing
Welcome to the People's Republic of California.

Trump for PRISON
The party of states rights, am I right?

Same thing for 18 wheelers. Manufacturers are being regulated out of business, without a viable replacement drivetrain, there wont beany more tractor trailers or box trucks!
Epa mandate for 2027 is 80 percent higher! If we knew how great. But the manufacturers are out of bussiness!?!
In about 8 to 10 years the current generation wont be allowed!
If you cant deliver food from farm to market?
Time will tell.....to be determined...
Thanks for all you are doing on this issue. I use a motorhome for work and this is very troubling.
Thanks we are trying to get the CARB to exempt motorhomes and met with congressman Thursday but no luck yet.
I lift California years ago Never going back
You don't have to it's coming to your state soon
@@bob-o5206 Absolutely! Texas is collapsing in on its self. Almost all the large cities have shifted to the left and are being taken over politically by rich douche canoes.
California can pull your RV off the road at anytime old or new don’t let the salesman fool you.
CARB will be voting this week on implementing a special tax on gas. It's being reported it is in the neighborhood of .68 cents per gallon.
Unfortunately the only exemption is to get out of CA now, before your forced to live in a 15min city to survive.
Great Informative video Brent
Thank you! We were caught off guard ourselves at how soon this would affect us and other CA residents in such a major way. There isn’t much information out there so we wanted to inform the public.
Who wants to go to California?
CARB must believe the Conastoga wagon is the answer for an RV. Their commitment to stupidity is impressive!!
The State of California is going to lose big time, because all of the high end motor homes are diesel and some of the best high end RV resorts are in California. So once the high end RV's like Prevost stop going to these high end luxury resorts the resorts will close tax revenue will dry up. Well I think you get the picture and no more diesel tractor trailers delivering goods and services to the state
These politicians are stupid idiots.
@ well you are right about that
California is done
You sure got it exactly right it will hurt CA people a lot more than people realize when a lot more of the people who pay most of the taxes move out of the state.
I saw the same headline on FB, but, someone wrote that they are not banned but will require a yearly emissions test and certification sticker...from my Google question came this : "Clean Idle Provision
Starting January 1, 2024, all heavy-duty diesel engines in motorhomes must have a "Clean Idle" label.
@@demartinirvsales Ahhh...Thanks Brent.
Because most people are deleting their emissions systems.
California suicide of small business continues unabated. So glad we left.
Yeah, we're glad you left too🥳
@purdyboi8078 That's a great attitude. Enjoy paying higher and higher taxes. Hey Einstein, it's not the freeloaders leaving CA it's taxpayers that are leaving and freeloaders that are moving in.
Would Compressed Natural Gas be an option long-term?
No, California has banned new natural gas powered stoves, furnaces and pool heaters. Plus gas powered generators, chain saws and yard tools are now illegal to sell. Everything must be electric. Yep, only electric from now on because the state now considers natural gas a "fossil fuel".
Where you going to fuel?
Hey Gavin i think the climate is getting better already , can you feel it ? !!
Screw Cali i would not step into this dumb state
Trucks stop on the boarder and unload
many trucks do not cross into ca now.
So if I buy a class b rv before Jan 1st 2025 , I will have no problem registering it in California in 2025 or in the future ?
You shouldn't have any problem with any Class B that's available for sale right now. These regulations are mostly affecting future supply of RV's that are able to be sold in CA. Your dealer will be able to tell you if the unit you're interested in is CA Compliant.
What about diesel yachts ? Hmmm. Must be an influence thing
And I left California in 2005 for Tennessee. The last straw for me was the city/county wanted a permit and blueprints from an architect/draftsman for a 10x12 storage shed on my 2.5 acres.if you stay in California this is on you and you can deal with it.
That’s exactly what they want for you to move out of California.
Carb is out of control. Gavin Newsome needs to be run out of town.
I already moved all my vehicles to South Dakota! Legally!
You look like you belong there.
Does this include the Sale of Used RV as well?😕
No - Only New 2025 model Class A Diesel and Super C's.
@ So what is going to happen to the ones that can no longer be Sold?😕
@@druellapartee2010 Most of what we have in inventory now can still be sold to CA residents. There are a few that must be registered out of CA that we can hopefully sell to an out of state customer. The problem is it will kill the industry here because we won't be able to replace inventory with new products.
@ This is so unfortunate!😕
Are they banning driving or making it illegal to drive in CA if purchased outside the State?
If government can mandate how citizens behave, citizens become easier to control.
Vote with your feet. Leave Kommiefornia.
Our business sells primarily Class A diesel and Super C diesel motorhomes. We are a family business located solely in California and the majority of our customers are CA residents. These regulations are going to kill us and hurt most of our customers.

Yea, and they are all coming to Colorado and look how that state has gone down hill.
Keep voting democrat Grass Valley. That small went to hell when every third house had a pot grow and the homeless bums were being dumped in it from Sacramento. Left town in 2017 and have never returned.
that used to be a great place to live and visit.
Newsom’s California. Ain’t it just great?
TRUMP 2024!!!!
Leave calicommie.
There is no way you could electrify a 45 foot coach. Screw Kommifornia.
CARB and their officials need to be sued
Thats it less revinue and more unemployement. Way to go cali
That fine calif , just a big money trap not missing a whole lot
Is this saying you can't buy one there or drive from another state in one?
California residents can’t buy a NEW class a diesel or super C beginning in 2025 because they don’t have available CA CARB compliant chassis to build them on. If you’re registering out of state you can buy them here and drive them here.
@@demartinirvsales kind of authiratian isn't it! And we see the next president as that.

when traveling with our coach we avoid California at all cost not a state we want to travel in speed limit to slow for RV towing fuel cost too high roads are very bad traffic sucks why would you travel there at all
What about those Super C's built on Ford 550 or 600 chassis ? Ford is producing EV should be Ok then or not ? .
Short answer is we don't know yet. They are affected by the ACT regulation as well as the Clean Fleet and Omnibus regulations from California. I just saw an article saying that they're stopping production of some Super Duty trucks in CA.
@@demartinirvsales Thank you.
As I understand it, there are several additional states that have signed on to the idiocy of California. This is criminal at best.
Yes you’re correct. So far Washington, Oregon, Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey all have adopted the ACT regulation as well.
In 2023 CARB passed a rule to ban a certain chemical in 2024 used in automotive refinishing…No automotive paint manufacturer has a replacement…They were blind sided..
Leonardo Decaprios yacht should be banned too.
Wow! Hope they get an exemption and hope it doesn’t end up including pickups as I own a heavy duty diesel pickup!
Can you buy from out of state and register in cali ??
Not new 2025 models of class A diesel and Super C, as the regulation is written now. The manufacturers are having a hard time getting chassis to build them on that are CA compliant and able to be registered in CA. So it wouldn’t help a CA resident to travel to another state to buy because they’d face the same issue when they tried to register it in CA.
@ I feel for you!
If this bitch gets elected, she’s gonna be forcing the fucking people to buy them Next.
What if I don't live in California but want to travel in California with my diesel pusher
No problem or control for visitors. just for residents buying new Diesel motorhomes built in 2025
Good news for those that already own diesel RVs. The value is about to go up since you can't buy new any more.
Maybe...i just don't know how the registration will work...there is no info in this yet....
@scottsweet3905
As it stands, the law only states the sale of new diesel RVs will be banned.
So, buyers could go elsewhere to buy them.
They won’t be able to register it in California. We can sell the same RVs that they can sell in Arizona and Nevada but CA won’t allow CA residents to register them.
Yes but taxes are almost as much in NV and AZ and license fees are more in Both states than CA plus couldnt be registered back in CA
