- In this video we route the individual channels from EZDrummer 3's (Toontrack) Mixer Tab into the Cakewalk's channels. This will give us more control when mixing with EZdrummer 3.

I use it with FL and I bet there is a lot of others who use FL who would love a vid being it would go hand in hand with the recent audio updates that FL has done in the past few months/year. Thanks for all the awesome vids!
Coming up soon...
Bro, I love watching your videos man. Love the way you explain things and work through it. Keep it up brother, you are seriously a valuable resource for me and Cakewalk! Another great benefit to this, is ducking the bass. You can easily route your bass compression to the kick. I didnt know you could do this, and had to manually eq my send to low end only to use for ducking my bass. It would have been way easier to have the kick channel be used for the ducking. This is what I will do next time. Thanks again.
Great to hear. Thanks for the feedback!
Great video! I have Superior Drummer 3 and wondered how to route each kitpiece to its own channel correctly in CbB. This method also does the trick with SD3! Thanks!
Great to hear!
Wonderful Content. Question: When you dragged EZdrummer 3 into a track, the white screen popped up. Mine doesn't do that. Where do I find it? Thanks
Wow, I cut my teeth back on DOS Cakewalk when it was the only game in town...
I’ve heard of this legend!
Hi, one question, when I put the EZD groove into the the EZD track it assumes just one track and not the pieces separated, is that it?
So I noticed that these tracks doesn´t work Mute or Solo parameter, although you still can changes others parameters in these tracks.
Thanks in advanced.
I'm not sure why things do not Solo or Mute for you. You can Solo/Mute in the EZDrummer's Mixer Tab, Grid Editor Tab, and in Cakewalk after you have routed the channels out.
Please do this for every daw I will greatly appreciate thanks in advance
In most DAWs at least.
All those midi tracks would crash my CPU instantly. I route them all to audio files.
I know right, and when you start adding other instrument tracks...forget about it!
Are they midi? He's putting audio fx on them.
Are these midi or audio tracks?
The midi is in EZDrummer, that is all.
I wish routing EZ3 was this easy in all DAWs! I've heard good things about Cakewalk over the years.
It occurs to me that Cakewalk didn't get it's big commercial re-release in 2023 as expected. Hopefully they have a big announcement coming soon. Still no update on their website.
I'm off Windows now, so I won't be playing with Cakewalk anytime soon, but I'm interested to see where it goes this coming year.
Are you still between pro tools and reaper?
@@ShootieSchool I've been transitioning to Logic Pro. X'd Pro Tools altogether. I still keep Reaper around too, but I'm getting more and more used to Logic and plan to mostly live there going forward.
If you stay with Mac it’s a good choice, IMO.
