I have a lanzar vibe266-1 it blew instantly and it's identical on the inside the cheap 10g wire fake fuse holder and I was disappointed because my friend had the optidrive series from the 90s and that's one of the best systems I've heard It's upsetting the way things are nowadays I pondered on what to buy for a long time I went with skar audio RP 1500 and I haven't looked back looking forward to buying some of their subs now.. thanks for the videos you make everybody a good guideline to go on for buying equipment thanks a lot..

The first amplifier I ever owned was the "1000 watt" lanzar max. Got it off Amazon and hooked it to a couple p1 12s and it sounded ok. Opened the manual and it did 75 x 2 rms. Then I got a punch 550.2 and have loved everything RF since.
If you notice on Rockford fausgate amps they don't rate a max they always rate them lower but then on the birth certificate inside the box with the paper work they do. Like the box will advertise 300 watts but the birth certificate will tell you the real power like 1000 watts. I wont buy nothing but Rockford fosgate or Harmon kardon

I am Coast2coastLoud that is possible as long as you assume that it is only making a third of its power or less and you don't want it to last forever you can do that with anything but by the time you pay for 3 amps to do the job of 1 you could have bought one good amp for the same price if not cheaper..

What amp would you recommend for two two ohm Rockford fosgate punch p3 15" I have a Hifonics Zeus 2400 watt mono amp but it needs more power?
I have the same amp but it's the 4000 watt amp. So I should think the 4000 watt amp is about 400 watts max? I'm running it in stereo right and left to two 12s in my house it's sounds pretty good. I was thinking it's probably a 300 watt amp.
I have sold Lanzar Pyle Pyramid Legacy since the early 90's. The parent company is Sound Around out of Brooklyn NY. We sold this brand because of price points. Defect rate was pretty high. The plus to this company from our point of view has been customer relationship. Can't comment on individual customer service. We could get credit or new replacement no questions asked.
Product quality has always been questionable.
We have since moved to other brands. We do continue to carry other products from them such as accessories Power supplies etc. Since the internet boom e-commerce etc competition has driven many companies buy cheaper and produce cheaper. Everything comes from China. The old saying you get what u pay for is always. True, Always do your research before putting any aftermarket product into your vehicle. Don't let great deals marketing influence your purchase. I have been working and installing car audio for over 30 yrs. I have seen a lot of crazy stuff like this. Always remember they are trying to take your money period. If u give it to them make sure you are getting what u pay for.

Can you test a ssl dg41200 pls I got one and wana know if it's really putting out 1200 watts which I doubt but it's a four channel Idk if u do 4 channel amps.
wow that sucks. i would have guessed that Lanzar would come close. I will not be buying Lanzar amps anytime soon. any chance on testing other budget amps like BOSS and SSL, Lightning Audio etc. i would see what they do.
I'm actually impressed it made ~500w. Plus it comes with a spare fuse...what a bargain!

Do you have any suggestions on where to learn about amp diagnostics? I have a Kenwood KAC 9106D that powers up but has no output to the speakers. It's driving me crazy. I've had that thing apart three times trying to find the malfunction. Love your videos.

Did that amp run 675 rms at 14 volts? Its still a shitty amp but the price is good. I have a kenwood 600 max and 300 rms bridged at 4 ohms.. should i stick with the kenwood or will this one have a bit more power bridge
Pretty simple rule of thumb is fuse rating to get a ballpark . . I have JBL BPx2200.1 and externally requires a minimum of 190 amp fuse

for a proper test 1 pair of wires should be soldered to the other holder and use 2 fuses

Man, you gotta use a setup that's putting out 14.40v or close to it. All of these amps rated at that power level are pretty pointless to be tested in the 12 volt range. It's really misleading.
If they aren't even close its not going to make that much difference. I do now have a setup capable of that and have retested some of these.

how come maxi fuses are bad? my pioneer gm-d8601 has them and i saw now problems. (granted im only running 300 watts rms but still)
They are common to suffer from loose connection to the fuse, which causes heat and causes the fuse holder to melt.

volkswagenginetta There are a few good ones. Rockford used one for a while with set screws instead of friction fit. But most eventually loosen and have issues.

I'de like to see how the Kenwood KAC-9106D 2000 Watt amp performs. Its pretty close in price to these complete BS amps. also any power acoustik amps as well just to see how overrated they are.
One thing to point out! Always only buy CE, CES or CEA compliant car audio! This means you will get everything stated! Stop helping the Black Market car audio manufacturers! Selling Knock-offs with Quality names tied to them! This is White Van car audio! Designed to get big sales and not gain any Competition status or wins for their records! Lanzar used to design their amplifier boards in-house especially with the 50c and back then a name was a promise for quality!
There's actually the many amplifier companies doing well over rated specs that are not CEA rated. I see CEA ratings as more of a marketing ploy than actual results. The tests are pretty vague. (Ie all tests are at 4-ohm) and the manufacturer gets to pick the sample to be tested.
I just ignore it for the most part myself.
Opti drives and vibe line are korean made.

Remove all heatsink clamps solder in two jumper wires apparently they forgot the wires fuse shouldn't ever be pulling over 80 amps to bubble that fuse
More working fuses mean more current gets to the billion FETs which in turn will stop the single fuse from melting and bubbling there's way too much current draw form all those parts on a 80amp maxi apparently they forgot to add jumpers or wire
After watching this video for the second time, I have a theory about the "spare fuse holder".
I'm thinking you got a bum amp that should have been labeled as B-stock. I see four wires coming off of the one fuse terminal. I'm going to guess someone in production didn't do their job properly, got lazy and either soldered one fuse holder to all four wires instead of 2 wires to each fuse holder, or there was a malfunction with something on the assembly line and this amp (along with others) was set aside to be "corrected" and was just made to work to get it out of the factory.
I only suspect this because I've worked in manufacturing and stuff like that happens a lot more than I care to admit. I'll just say this . . . if you buy a box of 6 donuts and the total package size of the entire box says "12 oz", that would lead you to believe there are 6 donuts that weigh 2 oz each right? Well, not always. As long as they all, together, weigh 12 oz, that's all that matters.
Has anyone ever opened up another one of these amplifiers to confirm this is normally done?
The only problem with that theory is that if both fuse holders and both fuses were meant to be used, then under the heavy load I put the amp through the single fuse should have blown (Because it would only be half of what the final fuse rating would be). It would have been too much for the single fuse to handle. Some amps I test even blow there fuses under a very heavy resistive load with the correct fusing in them. So only having half certainly would have.
I really think this is how it was meant to be.

The amplifier still does nowhere near rated. I'm not denying that at all. I just don't agree with the assumption that the intention was deception by using a dummy fuse. I'd be willing to bet a 6 pak that if someone were to open up the identical amplifier the guts would look different.

In either case, I am betting 2 12 packs that every amp of this model would look exactly like this. They did not screw up this one amp I would bet money on it.

I believe this test isn't accurate .....The fact the fuse was getting so hot showed there is a severe restriction on power to the amp.... Obviously if the power was being restricted, this would hinder the power performance of the amp... Were there two maxi's in there from the factory or did it come with 1
