Always impressive to see an amp do more than rated. Awesome to have a way to keep the mfg's in check now...if they are 'fudging', we'll know. I had an old school MMats D200HC before, wish I would've tested it before selling...

I always liked the old us 50hc and the 200hc very underated nasty amps
I had an old school dc1400.05 on two RE Audio 15" SX series @0.5 ohms. Never got hot, a bit warmer than ambient. Didn't need a alternator upgrade or even a cap. Added a 4.0 farad cap even though it only held 0.2vdc higher system voltage, after adding the capacitor. Wouldn't drop below 13.6vdc at idle. It was, BY FAR, the BEST sub amp I have ever used or seen, with a 1400w RMS output rating. The 15" RE Audo SX series subs, with dual 2ohm VC, were rated for 750w RMS/1500W MAX. The combination was great, pushed them hard for 16-20hrs nearly every day for 2-3yrs.
I have a pair of the d100hc. One daily used other as a backup.
I like the video layout, showing the results on the right side as it's tested. Much watcher friendly.
after getting a mmats 1400.5 and running 2x 15" RE audio sx series at 0.5ohm, I have always suggested them. Only sub amplifier I have ever used that has been able to be pushed hard all day without overheating. Very high quality amps!
Yep I saw a Chevy blazer like late 80s early 90s at the advanced audio store in gulf Port Mississippi in like 2003 maybe it's was a spl truck but it had 8 18 inch mmats juggernaut subs in it on the old mmats 1400s on each sub and I watched it break the steering column in this blazer it was f n gnarly it made a believer out of me lol

They are designed to go that low. And others go lower to 1/2 ohms. Keep the good work! Thanks for the videos.

@@derekquinones8614 No, it isn't. They have a 2000.05 that is designed for half ohm - same power at half ohm as this at 1ohm. I love the way Mmats does it. You buy the model amp that puts out the amount of power you need, and you chose the version of it based on how you'll be wired. These start at 600 and go up to 4k - though the 4k is a "competition only" amp, with no warranty, and not designed to pump 4k watts continuously. It Is basically the 3k without any protection. You'll kill it trying to push 4kw daily on it.
Don't sleep on MMATS amps they have always been nasty when it comes to power never overheat nor shut down.
+lstephenson247 They do overheat. I had one and it died but I bought another one. Added fans and its all good. I had the 2000.1 older model. They are great.
Their subwoofer line is amazing too

Cleveland, OH - Been running MMATS for years. their 2k amp is nearly the size as their 3k and the 3k is the same size as the 4k. The 4k is the amp that you can mess around with the nominal. There is no protection and people have clamped ridiculous numbers out of them. But they don't carry a warranty. Use these amps at their rated impedance and you will not have a problem though! I loved my d300hc, d2100.1, m3000.1, and HD4000.05. They are rated at 13.8V btw.

I run a mmats 3500.1 running on a 2 12in go audio SSD subs and I love it the amp doesn't even get hot hardly luke warm at most. Mmats power for the win

Well MMats amp's use very high end circuitry, all the components and circuit board are pure copper, it has no protection circuit as well, very efficient amp, that's why its so expensive.

Shed some more light Steve that comment about companies run from the ad-1 is so true and even some companies get by with cea ratings a 4 ohms on a 1 ohm stable sub amp but they don't state what ohm they past the cea test lol! And my city is Pikeville, Ky keep em coming!!

MMats still making stuff here in the good old USA. One of the last ones to do that. Seven years later and they're still made here.
Anchorage Alaska, and judging from your "gut-shot" I'd have to say that's a Class D amp... 1% and clipping were very close to same, but surge power really shined.
Most of Mmats amps are class D. They were one of the companies in the 90's that pioneered the class D amp.

Great stuff! I'm curious, have you ever done any thermal testing? I have one amp that blew me away with the kinda power it could put out, but I wouldn't run it at it's full potential without forced air cooling.

Have you ever dyno'ed an Adcom amp? They seem to be overbuilt for their output and I've heard for many years they run super low impedance loads without dying. Supposedly the board power traces will give out before the components will...

I know you did the 1400 and the numbers looked amazing but I have a soundqued hds315d2 and want to know if the 900 will be good enough for it. right now I have it on an old Rockford Fosgate punch 601s I had layin around till I get the funds for a new amp. also how much would you charge to build me a box for my hds315d2? thanks. love your videos.
