Are Lanzar VIBE any good? 3200DN full power test

- Lanzar is a well known brand for the Opti range some years ago, but the modern stuff doesnt have a great reputation. I decided to take a look at the VIBE series 3.2K and see what its all about, and how much power it actually makes.

Love the bench tests and being straight forward with overall build quality of the amps you repair, please keep doing these!
Nice video,, I had the 1800 watt version a while back and was happy. Glad it did very close to power. Keep up the great work and videos.. glad people like you are out there. Thank you.
Awesome vid Sam. I knew the optidrive line was good but I had no idea about the vibe line. Good stuff my man!
This is why I'm here! Please, more of these type videos. I'm about to buy some amps and I've been out of the game for awhile. Stuff I used to like seems to be garbage now.
It's always nice to see budget amps doing rated. Great video, sir!
Dude keep it up we love it
Hey Sam.
I have to say I’ve got a could of Lanzar Class D amps that I brought cheap as they were faulty. Once repaired and with a little silicon they have worked well and a good step up from an AB.
I have a couple as well a vibe 258 and a vibe 251 they both are lighting up and what not but not giving me any bass when hooked all up think it's a amp problem or sub or wire....is there a way to test to find out
Have you worked on old school autotek mx5000 mx300 mx1300??? Would love to see bench test or repairs on these amps ... Love your videos
I was actually searching these makes of amps the other day, there's always three types I remember. JL Audio Slash v1 (love these things) lanzer amps, and another one I can't remember (i think it was called caliber) all I remember it had a silver / blue cover
you are the man dude!
That was one of my first amps, Lanza vibe 4 channel
Hey, I've referred your video to repair my nakamichi pm600.1, power supply section is ok, only the output section is faulty when there's no mosfet the switching is beautiful, but when there's mosfet there's sound from the inductor and i saw the high side mosfet signal going crazy, sometimes getting negative gate drive.. but when there's no mosfet there's no problem.. other that the high side gate drive voltage going from 12v initially to 7v, I'm not sure what could be the problem now.. I'll be changing the ir2010s just in case i fucked up something..
But before this happened, i changed the ir2010s and everything works ok.. even got the output section to work nicely, i put 1 mosfet on high and low side and tested the switching, it was beautiful, i should say that i used the socket you use to temporarily fix driver boards. All was ok.. but once i soldered the driver board back and begin testing the board again.. with only 1 mosfet on high and low side, that crazy switching happened. I should also add that when removing the mosfet when soldering the driver board back there was a small short between drain and source 5v at most, could it cause problem?
Thanks bro
i could get 1 of these for a few bucks under 200 new . i know the old lanzars are good but a lot of companies are making half junk with high RMS ratng and they a5re lighter than apple...i love how you break down the mathand how you get your figures. i dont reall y under stand the whole Volt, ohms and watts stuff.. would i have to run more than 1 battery?and a few capacitors? and how do i run a 1ohm load?, is there a swithch on the amp or does neecd speacial wiring?
Lanzar Vibe 2102n (6000.2) any reviews .I want to play four 10" mids
What do u think of the lanzar vibe 6k
hey barevids,
when are you gonne live stream again?
what is the problem my sound magus ...the output frequency is dcvolt output...
That internal power wire was replaced. It was stamped fultron which is now Memphis audio.
Internal wires have all sorts of brands written on them. It's whatever the build house has laying around at the time. I've seen Audiopipe wire in all sorts of "expensive" brand amplifiers lol
barevids hmm. Never really noticed. But the one in the video really stuck out. Used to run the xm series in the mid 90's
What is the function of the relays on the board ? Is some kind of a protection circuit ?
yup speaker terminal isolation, prevents DC being sent to the subs in case of a fault
Have to find the old school Lanzar.
Nice!
they are good for the ones getting started with there first system but not sq or spl
this is cool👍👍👍😎🍻
Hi,
Need a little assistance if possible.
I bought Double 12 Fli Subs yesterday and its states 2000w.
I was looking at one of these Lanzar Amps Vibe 442N for 50% Discount new.
Would this be stable or a good buy? - Or could anyone recommend a decent Amp for these subs.
Any help would be appreciated,
Cheers
Hiw much would you charge to fix mines? Please reply soon
You come across this amp? Ds18 PRO-FR1500.1
i have an old opti. i want to know if they actually do rated. i have heard they do. but... lol havent really seen anyone dyno test them
How old of an opti? Black with gold or yellow letters? If so, or the grey ones that are early 90s and later will do well over power eating. I have an old opti 2500c and at 4 ohms it will put out 4000 watts at 14.4v. The 50c and the 2500c are almost identical
I would love to see how to make an amp better
Same
if you want a lanzar go with opti line or find an old 90's one
Agreed. I have three old school Lanzar 2500 amps myself.
Joaquin Juarez would you be willing to take a picture of the bottom of your amp board by chance? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🤞 I have the same amp and had a speaker wire ground out. Long story short it burnt some of the traces on the board and I want to make sure I’m jumping them to the right spots because I still have a shirt to ground. Would be greatly appreciated. If you would be so kind please email pics to iDrift314@gmail.com
@@idrift314, will do, sir.
Joaquin Juarez did you ever get a chance to send those?
@@idrift314,sorry... no sir I haven't. Could find out who asked me to send them so i posted them on my fb account. Would you like me to email them anyways or check out my fb? I took quite a few pics.
How many channels was this one and should i get the 6000w 4 channel version to power two pioneer 2000w TSW121SPL?
No, absolutely not. You must use a mono amplifier for subwoofers.
The Lanzar 6000w 4 channel are notorious for midrange speakers better yet known as voice amp. You definitely would want a Mono Class D 1 ohm stable amp for bass
Would the upgraded parts u put in this amp make it make more power than one that came from the factory??
@@johnridgley9587 no, the only way to make an amp more powerful is to increase the rail voltage, and to do that you need to change the power supply transformers with a higher turn ratio. That usually also means you will need to change all of the output MOSFETs, rail the caps, filter network, protection circuit components, etc. Alternatively you might be able to get away with just fitting higher current MOSFETs and beefing up the traces so that the amp is stable at a lower impedance, to extract more power without having to increase the rail voltage.
@@barevidsty .. just asking because I'm getting 2 Alpine type s 's and a vibe 1100n for $130 I figured that's only the price of one of the subs and everything else for free
@@johnridgley9587 you could always just sell the amp and buy a more powerful one with the money
@@barevids I wouldn't be able to sell it for $40 at best
@@johnridgley9587 then that is still 40 towards a better amplifier...
I did same method 20hz got 50 volts at 1 ohm 2500 watts
basshead forever club 20hz isnt the same as 40.. and if it's on a sub it's not static load. and gotta take voltage drop in account etc etc
well, alot of information right here, but what the heck is doing all that background low hz noises!? my sub goes crasy haha
Thats when a bus goes past. The distance from the road is just right to set up a decent 30-35hz tone in the room.
Is amperage always same as voltage
basshead forever club no, amperage changes with current draw
At 1 ohm yes on outputs
lanzar was good in the 90's most of the car audio went to crap after 2000 still a few out there that are good but most are owned my same company
I have had a lot of lanzar amps. mostly back in the 90's. never had one tat wasn't a good amp. kinda like sony they are cheap. every one will hate on you for using it. but they do close to rated power
I have the lanzar vibe 420. It shakes my car.. lol
I'm thinking of the 6k one but not so sure of them even though lanzar has been around
People mistake American Lanzar vibe with British vibe.
They all come from the same place 😂
@@randyledford6496 No.
@@sahajankhan1436 they don't have a American lanzar vibe and a British lanzar vibe.. they all come from either China or Korea. Idk how you figured that out 😂
@@randyledford6496 i didn't say British lanzar vibe no such thing..vibe is a brand and the supplier is based in uk, there is vibe which is a british brand and lanzar vibe which is sold mainly in usa, 2 different brands.
last i checked it wasn't made in china.
Not bad results for a cheapO
DJ-H I know right
Half ohm it lol
too bad the quality is quite bad
Yes there professional power, dude eating balls😂
Lanzar vibes are the worst amps ive ever owned
There’s something fishy about this test. That’s a piece of shit amp and it shouldn’t b doing nowhere near those numbers🤔
It's a generic board from a fairly reputable Chinese build house. Cheap and cheerful, but they do make okay power.
They do push close to what they say vibe and opti amps were decent and mine never failed I ran a opti 1400d and it pushed a re audio sx18 like nothing
200w short is bad bro.
Alpha Omega not when its a cheap amp like that in very suprised.
Not when a company states something that's not true.... on every product for decades.
Even Big D couldn't sell me on a Lazar, Pyramid, Boss and the like.
Certain brands have lied for so many years that there is no redemption.
@@taylormade5217 I agree
200 isn't shy at all for a cheap amp.. usually nowhere close to rms
