Bow riders are BEASTLY, the 2 main doctrines that makes them OP is the 50% accuracy and the 10% chance for flaming arrows, combined with their high rate of fire they light any enemy ablaze
been using these "Serfs with legs" since I started playing 2 months ago, went bottom but your tree build seems more interesting and now I will try it out, also love your videos and hope you keep on making em (Btw started playing cuz I enjoyed your how to flanking video and so far I'm having fun)
the biggest thing they did was fix their targeting and firing mechanic it works similar to the rattan rangers now, they ACTUALLY can quickly aim and fire efficiently i love it nice video also man good breakdown
on one have i want to get back and play this game but on other hand this game is so addictive. when you start it's hard to stop i play like at least 12hr a day every day. like im done all daily activity in half a day.. IT"S SO SAD WHEN EVERY ONE I TALK TO NOT EVEN KNOW ABOUT THIS GAME....
It really sucks that you can't really do this type of stuff with Khorchins. Their AI just literally kills them, along with having their attack area skill be borderline useless. I'm patiently waiting for an overhaul of season 2 units but I doubt it's coming any time soon.
Nice to see a good gameplay with the bowriders! Btw at 11:00 - didin't you mix up the formations? Because I noticed a bug with wedge fromation only (so F3). It can be even seen in indicators on the ground - there are missing ones with F3 formation.
I play only siege and find quite a lot of success with them. Their speed boost gives them the ability to maneuver around small spaces with decent speed, and as long as you leave the range of enemy ranged units they can deal quite the damage to melee infantry. I heard the T4 sword/bow cav of season 2 is also quite good, especially in field battles so you can check them out.
@@AlanApogee Yeah, I mostly grind Siege, because it pays off the best, but I also go out, and do Overland just for the change of pace. ICBRs are great for Bandit patrols, because you can just run circles around them shooting, pretty much exactly how the Hun used them.
People are talking about Bowriders because they got buffed this season. Kevtuls haven't, and thats why no ones talking about them and why people are testing bowriders.
Exactly, the bowriders received a rework this season making them competitive. Anything that isn't meta before or new right now will need a remake to become popular again. Reasons for this can be power creep, but more likely than not, it's the lack of good AI/skills and developer experience in the past resulting in badly designed units.
@@AlanApogee Yeah that's the problem I don't really know what went wrong with Khevtuul since they're literally the mini Rattan Ranger (When they were op) rn I think they're just bowrider with charge and more tanky
While their damage is not the best, them putting out fire and slowing enemies with the epic doctrines makes them a good support unit for the leadership cost. Also, I assume most enemies will not even realise that their damages deal low damage and just try to avoid their arrows anyway.
@@AlanApogee thanks may i also ask if my equipment turns yellow, whether i can use a little bit more with reduced stats till lets say around 10 instead of repair at 20 immediately. bez i crafted yesterday and it already turn yellow lol 86 end is too little on gloves
@@braxstonwu5788 Repair it as much as you need because the cost and degradation scales with usage. Look into reconditioning if it gets below say 80-50, you might just get leadership bonuses
This season, armor is really strong b/c of the runes so I'm full armor with all armor runes. For the Longsword rune, I go with the 6% damage reduction on skill.
There are three servers, the My Games one has English localization making it only English. The 'global' steam frontier and the chinese Netease one has all the sounds according to the units origin. I don't think this can be changed in the settings, likely just my.games being lazy again.
Without the 50% accuracy doc, they're unusable. Been trying them out even though I don't have the doctrine and standing still at 20 meters they still miss most of their shots against enemies that are also standing still.
I want to say get closer and move more to use the 20% rate of fire increase, but the doctrine does help a ton. First go get infantry doctrines if you haven't yet, then consider cavalry doctrines once you have the important ones (brace stun, charge cooldown decrease, and 100 def up to shield wall units).
I had the same thought as you and I tried them. The result was: they are bad, real bad. No formation, weak skills, and bad AI. Not pleasant to play around with
Damn youre really good at kiting melee units. I think one of the weakest points of bowriders is,each of the units tend to shoot at different units. Like with the fortes there,if they had focus on one unit at a time, they would kill a lot more i think.
They surely can go further with better AI targeting, but I think they're already good enough for a Tier 2 unit. Maybe on the Mongol Tier 3 or possible future Tier 4, that seems more acceptable.

I actually got them elited with 3 epic doctrines, and I love them!!! good vid!

Glad to hear that your having fun! If your on the frontier server you should join my discord, we could play together sometime.

Agreed, it's hard to get into but very addictive experience mostly due to it being so unique.
Nice video. Very helpful
Interesting, convinced me to try them again!

Yep, totally agree with you here. Tried them a few times and they are unusable right now.

I really wanna see you play the khevtuul cav!
Have you thought of using the Khevtuul cavalry? The season one bow and sword cav, I wanna see why nobody really use them
I tried Khevtuul recently and, honestly, they perform like bowriders (damage-wise) while being much more costly.
People are talking about Bowriders because they got buffed this season. Kevtuls haven't, and thats why no ones talking about them and why people are testing bowriders.

I just tried main archer cavalrys and it has its moments
Just got a 119 kill record on them yesterday. They very much do have their moments
Yoo, question.
Do I roll Cav doctrines or Archer Doctrines for the epic doctrines?
Thanks!
Archer cav doctrines, with 50% increase in accuracy being the best
its considered cav doc
after the rework everyday i've been using this I would always have a grin on my face knowing I can harass the enemy and then get away with it
One day, maybe kevtul may me as useful and actually be able to use horse archer doctrines.
Hmm, thats the problem with terico nowerdays, it hassnt gotten any stronger while the game added a lot more units with thick shields.
so using 1 on gunner below the line is better accuracy or you just use them stop the push?
It does not make them more accurate, But it gives them aiming priorities and forces them to shoot even if enemies come close

Can you pls show your Long sword and shield build 🙏

Unfortunately, They are not really good at the moment. They have no formations, good skills, or good AI.

I have khochins maxed, they are extremely disappointing, one of the worst unit in the game imo

i want your masamune helmet
You're two seasons late, sometime ago they where exchangable with attrie scraps. Be sure to check updates, they have these exchanhes once a season
IronCap Bowriders or Keshigs ?
Neither, bowriders have been severally nerfed and Keshigs were never really good. All mounted cav are very weak other than the new T3 outriders
Khorchins arent better?
Yes, they are in a really bad spot right now. No formations, bad skills, and bad AI.
