As a *primarily* free-to-play player (I recently started buying the battle pass, but that's it), the main thing I've found that free-players are somewhat limited in getting are the attires. Without spending sovereigns, it's very difficult to get some of the seasonal and event attires. You don't get nearly enough gold and silver keys or blades to unlock everything.
@@spit782Agreed. I don't really care that much either; but it sucks when a really cool attire comes out that you'd like to get, but you can't simply because you're unlucky with the RNG and gold and silver keys, or you don't have enough blades.
Wasn't true back then. You could wait 2 seasons and easily afford the attire. That's how I got like 3 legendary attire sets. I've settled on my antique odin set that I'll never swap out.

It's definitely doable as a F2P player, but it does depend on whether or not you want to be competitive in territory wars. I was in a semi-serious house for 3 seasons and the grind felt very real trying to keep an edge over other houses. This was kind of the only time I felt the urge to splurge a bit in the cash shop. We had a great time diving into the full - lobby players experience together! Even the video is solid (and that's coming from someone who's spent too much money on games).
I only play FTP, no problems, got myself unlocked all orange units, all heraldic units, and about 1/3 of the season units. Now I rank in the first 25% constantly with ease, and I also got myself some bits and pieces of attires, from various events, boxes and so on (not sure how lol), enough for about 3-4 suits, quite decent.

Yeah sure can, was thinking about doing it after this experience, was making these videos to see if you can Compete if your free to play, ended up finding out why new players don't stick around. It's really sad because, it's such a good game when it's Competitive
As someone who just started playing the game. I feel like the first 100 or so levels, the games are really fun, you can jump right into the thick of fights and just duke it out with other heros and units and the game is a lot of fun. But once you get past roughly LVL 100, the game instantly changes to a super tactical game where everyone has maxed out meta units with full bis doctrines and full mastery and the way you were playing previously will lead to you and your units being obliterated in 0.1 seconds every time. I don't know if doctrines and mastery was something that was introduced later or was there from the start, but as a new player, it's truly a horrible experience to be expected to fight players with all that stuff, when you are lucky to have maybe 3-4 purple units that aren't even fully levelled, with basically no doctrines or mastery. I would not be surprised to hear that almost all new players quit at that point
@@peekay120 Masteries were added on later and the doctrine system was upgraded. There used to be only the purple doctrines your got from seasonal challenges and treaties. The doctrine combing system with the 5 tiers is what they added on. It's made it a lot harder for new players to catch up. Like with the experience you are describing I am not sure how CB thinks it's going to retain new players. @@Doom1461interesting, I am wondering why the changed the system then, because it doesn't seem like you are able to p2w the doctrines, so I'm not really sure why they made the system worse for new players. Another thing I forgot to mention is that the game doesn't tell you that certain units are just flat out better than others, for example, the game doesn't recommend that you pick up MAA, if a new player doesn't watch guide videos, of which, there seems to be almost none for the current season, they could potentially waste their entire time in the "protected" queue levelling the wrong units, and once they leave that queue, their character is basically ruined. Lastly, while I think it's great that you are still able to go back and unlock previous seasonal units, a lot of the challenges basically require you to pop off in multiple games, which, once you get out of that protected queue is essentially impossible, basically forcing you to pay to unlock those seasonal units. Don't even get me started on the fact the most cosmetics are season based and if you didn't play during that season, it's basically "go fick yourself" if you like one of those cosmetics

I disagree. Depending upon your skill level. as F2P, you can unlock 2-3 season's unit in 1 Season. And even if you don't unlock any seasonal units, you can still use Unit Tree's units to play. They wont be like current S tier meta units but they absolutely will be A tier meta.

The game doesn't take very long to progress, the only real grind is seasonal stuff, and even then it's not the most amazing stuff save a few select units. Literally all the that you have to do is play the game. The hardest thing to get that you probably will really want is epic schematic gear though. In all my time playing, I've only gotten 3 epic schematics, which leaves me two short of my desired armor and weapon set, however, there is always 2 for sale in the seasonal envoy store, that can be obtained is you are really devoted.
"if you are really devoted" lands too short into this... Crafting and reforging is entirely RNG, and it highly depends on how much time you spend farming daily missions, weekly, season store, login rewards and so on... it's not as easy as bying horse equipment and salvaging for materials... you will end up farming for months just to get enough schematics and reforging if not years just to get a good weapon and at least competitive leadership armor... And that's just for your character, Current meta is avalon, so, if you didn't spend the past weeks farming avalon, good luck trying to beat lancelots or percevals with tech tree units (which, the only reasonable choices are imp pike and maa and these don't beat lancelot). But that's the least of concerns considering how S tier is mainly seasonal units (zwei, onna, lancelot, kriegs, yanyue, orochi). Now how about doctrines? RNG, unless, again, you spend all your time farming for components to see if you get some good tier 5. or just spend money on season pass and premium and get everything you need in just a couple months instead of LITERALLY YEARS for free...
I dont know but.. as i startest the Game.. i Had to fought again high Rank Players and Not against Bots ... A lot of looses before hitting lvl 50 :D but atm (lvl 350) Sometimes, i got Bots and enemys in both Teams. So they updated it
You know, I've played on and off for years . This is honestly a great game to ease yourself back into, and they really do (even tho it is part of the strategy. I know) at least try to make it worth your money with every challenge completed making buying that seasonal unit just a tad bit more cheaper, to even where you could grind for it to be less then 50 sovereign to get the bs ones out of the way, and they're extremely good at compensation events also for the free players. giving free challenge passes.. I know it's a brutal grind and I have grinded all season for the new Knight fall units, but I've enjoyed it on and off a few matches every day at least, maybe 10 at most
So Mr Plum I have a question why they don’t give returned players epic mount? I myself have rare mount And I need to do 5 star and 100 BP to get 1 horse with spirit doc as my epic horse and I’m not sure I can even get more or not. It’s not fair in my look cause With rare horse All my cav are faster than me 😂😂
Im trying to create new alt character every season to see what changed in player start matchmaking for new players is better since season 18 I see :3 but anyway I prefer playing on my main
I had never experienced this infinite bot fights as i started the game straight at launch and i don't think PVP was locked behind character level at that time, might be better as a new player to make expeditions instead of siege ? More XP for troops and player, so you will reach PVP faster and lvl your units faster too. Hope the server for new player thing is working. But yeah if the PVP experience had a real learning curve instead of making you grinds stupid bots till lvl 200 then getting launch with the chads it might help player to stay in the game.
Im lvl 150 and youve unlocked a lot more in this video then I have. I dont want to restart because Ive progressed and I dont get access to the new content. for me to get the mace sargents I need 10k honor and I dont want to spend that.
Well to answer your question on why new players keep playing against bots, they don't, they quit the tower defense simulator. And how long did it take you to end it all? xD
i just started a a month ago, and found the challenge fine. New players can be challenged with bots, but as an experienced player like you bots are boring im sure.
Mas agora o jogo morreu, estava acostumado a jogar sem lag, com 150 de ping o combate rápido e "preciso" dos heróis ficou impraticável para mim, que tenho o costume de fazer muito hit and run escapando por 1 pixel praticamente.
I played without sovregins for 2 years, it was fun because of the friends who came together who didn't use sovregins as well, About getting only bots based on game play with my alt accounts real player matches start after level 100.
Goddamn now it's up to level 200 and with all players on 1 team? I still know hitting level 60 and getting thrown in player matches was hard but atleast but It also was pretty fun sure my scores were awful but it was a great watch and getting better was fun. Then they changed it to level 100 which is somewhat understandable but quite a boring solution. And now this? Wtf hahaha seriously why would you play against bots for this long? Instead give people a seasonal unit of choice or something like that or 2 and keep it at 100 reward players instead of torture them. But it wouldn't be booming games of they didn't torture their player base in every development post they make.
I stopped playing because there were so much bot fights. Back when I last played they did separate the players 2v2, 2v3, 3v3... it was still terrible as your bots sucked, and if the other side players did it right... you cant do anything (vise versa) because the opposing bots still had units.
They should also remove the level system as well. it doesn't feel good for new player to go against level 60+ and get killed just because the other player is higher level with more HP and damge.
2 minutes after character creation you have me interested. First came across a lazy peon video... No idea what's going on for the first 5 minutes.... And he was sponsored.
theres so many speed cheats and AI hacks u can buy to Download for this game it makes high lvl play dumb , every round has a speed hacker now . been past 2 months of see this , been a player siince 2022
This game is death for new players. I almost with 9 min for q match. I prefer play vs bots to farm some points. But wait 9 mins is insane. I miss the bots. When you up to 105 lvl you find other players and they have better units and better skills experience.
@@kenbean75 The man played bot games for his first 15+hours. Imagine being used to sallying on bots every game and then being thrown into a real match. Plum got so bored he quit playing before the 24 hour mark because it was so repetitive and boring.
I wouldnt say pay to win more so pay to prgress. You can pay for units and pay for levels and doctrines but it boils dow to stratgegy. Ive seen f2p destroy whales just by literally strategizing better. Focusong on a few units is the best bet. I spend money on it ever year and buy quite a bit but most of the time i grind sp its half and half for me. Unloxkong units is very fun but leveling os very very grindy
I wish they would fix the bot thing... I literally can't get anyone else to play this game for the same reason. Like why not just play League of legends with them instead of them spending literally 40 hrs playing against bots.
Yeah in my first time playing I was having fun fighting bots feeling on top of the world and then it all changed when I reached the like level cap or whatever and got in an all player match and got stomped by the brand new at the time Varangian guard those real heavy infantry and winged hussars. I would far prefer being able to ease into it and not be thrown from militia using AI to legendary veterans you know?
This has changed quite a bit now. under level 100, you will get primarily bot games... any Real players will be on your team. after level 100 however you will be faced off against other newer players... but not Veteran players. you wont see Veteran "sweaty" players until you crack lvl 500. And most of those players are level 2000+... and they will absolutely eat your lunch... talking from experience here lol. To achieve level 2000+ means they have played MULTIPLE seasons, they have played this game for years to get that high. Im currently Level 312, I have 2 seasons under my belt, and have just started my 3rd. Im not a "Free player" but a good 80% of my progress has been without payment. My paid play has been mostly for cosmetics, and they had an awesome sale on "Newbie Palace Guard" unit unlock. 500 gold for a max level, masteried out purple unit, with all blue doctrines. Its not game changing, and certainly didnt need to spend money to get them... but it was so convenient for me... time is money right... it was easy for me to spend 5 bucks instead of the 20 hours to max them.
I am perfectly fine spending 5 bucks to skip: "Win 5 free battles" to unlock Falconetti Gunners when no one fucking plays free battles lmao. Not to mention that it's only available for a few days a week at specific times? Absolutely shitty system but it worked in worming out 5 bucks out of my pocket.
They really need to add bots to free battles its ridiculous I have spent 2 hours in queue :( I wouldn't even mind free battles is supposed to be a low stacks casual mode!

I noped out the moment I saw the basic attack was button smashy. I feel like Bannerlords directional combat has spoiled me.
Wait they gave you mace seargents?!?!?!?!
Hahahahha, Plum has no chill. He went straight for the path of revenge when a possible new players just tried arties for the first time
No body shoots my mace Sargents 🤣
17:20 ik... I hate that lol
I dont know but.. as i startest the Game.. i Had to fought again high Rank Players and Not against Bots
I know it's a brutal grind and I have grinded all season for the new Knight fall units, but I've enjoyed it on and off a few matches every day at least, maybe 10 at most
Why does the victory screen always say bitcoin
So Mr Plum I have a question why they don’t give returned players epic mount? I myself have rare mount And I need to do 5 star and 100 BP to get 1 horse with spirit doc as my epic horse and I’m not sure I can even get more or not. It’s not fair in my look cause With rare horse All my cav are faster than me 😂😂
Hey does anyone know if the noble blood 2 doctrine stacks with the Noble blood 1 doctrine
Best game ever !! 2500 hours in game :)
I only played free to play to unlock all hounour tech tree, then seasonal units appear is just pain and takes to much of my time. So pay too win time.
is there any good cav you can focus on as a beginner f2p? and what weapong goes with cav?
Yeah dagger axe lancers are really good 👍 and following that winged hussars
@@Plumsion thank you🙏
Glaive, spear and pike are all good choices of weapon for a cavalry focus as they all have mount skills
Im trying to create new alt character every season to see what changed in player start
matchmaking for new players is better since season 18 I see :3
but anyway I prefer playing on my main
I spent much money on this game, but only to skins, and grind was almost f2p (only 1 unit bought)
How did u change the color of your units?
Setting, go to game, scroll down to change unit colours
It’s pay to progress faster - unless you’re paying for the current season, which is always seemingly OP for a period of time
this guide should mention not to buy gold units for as long as you can, as the bots you play against will also get gold units making it harder
is there PVE game mode? I only want to play for PVE.
Yeah there is but it's not very fun.
You know how to fix the connection lost then infinite loading bug?
Yeah seems good!
Im lvl 150 and youve unlocked a lot more in this video then I have. I dont want to restart because Ive progressed and I dont get access to the new content. for me to get the mace sargents I need 10k honor and I dont want to spend that.
Video is kinda old now, they have done more stuff to the new player Experience. so may have to make a new one
Well to answer your question on why new players keep playing against bots, they don't, they quit the tower defense simulator. And how long did it take you to end it all? xD
i just started a a month ago, and found the challenge fine. New players can be challenged with bots, but as an experienced player like you bots are boring im sure.
Mas agora o jogo morreu, estava acostumado a jogar sem lag, com 150 de ping o combate rápido e "preciso" dos heróis ficou impraticável para mim, que tenho o costume de fazer muito hit and run escapando por 1 pixel praticamente.
i have played Cb for 200h i like this game
I played without sovregins for 2 years, it was fun because of the friends who came together who didn't use sovregins as well,
About getting only bots based on game play with my alt accounts real player matches start after level 100.
Hello
I'm losing my mind also, playing against bots
Do you know at what level it stops?
i hear a Rumour, you start getting split bots and hero games at level 100 but cannot confirm this. but at level 200 i know you enter full player games
Es decir, como yo 😂
i feel your boredom my friend
I stopped playing because there were so much bot fights. Back when I last played they did separate the players 2v2, 2v3, 3v3... it was still terrible as your bots sucked, and if the other side players did it right... you cant do anything (vise versa) because the opposing bots still had units.
They should also remove the level system as well. it doesn't feel good for new player to go against level 60+ and get killed just because the other player is higher level with more HP and damge.
2 minutes after character creation you have me interested. First came across a lazy peon video... No idea what's going on for the first 5 minutes.... And he was sponsored.
I like the game imma downloadi
Hardest Challenge in the Game
theres so many speed cheats and AI hacks u can buy to Download for this game it makes high lvl play dumb , every round has a speed hacker now . been past 2 months of see this , been a player siince 2022
I play free to play and only been playing for 3 days, ut I fight real players and win MVP or pretty close, about 7-8/10 of my battles
haha the feeling of f2p will never faded away from me. played a lot of games and all f2p. f2p brothers haha
"pet controling" big nope
This game is death for new players. I almost with 9 min for q match. I prefer play vs bots to farm some points. But wait 9 mins is insane. I miss the bots. When you up to 105 lvl you find other players and they have better units and better skills experience.
There is any other game like this, but for a low shit Pc? lol
How the fcck did you make camera zoom so far? R u cheating? Cinematic camera off trick does not work.
Just scroll wheel back
Lol dont assumed people playing cheat so early. Try it out 1st. Its only for melee weapon and not for range weapon.
@@cheapskateangkol9371 Melee weapon and I can see only my ass. Scroll on mouse works only on world map.
@@Plumsion oh sht. Actually u need scroll a LOT to zoom out. What a hell?
This seems like a terrible new player experience. How do they expect to attract a new playerbase?
How is this terrible? They throwing free stuff at you left and right. Not even gonna compare how it was when i started in season 1.
@@kenbean75 The man played bot games for his first 15+hours.
Imagine being used to sallying on bots every game and then being thrown into a real match. Plum got so bored he quit playing before the 24 hour mark because it was so repetitive and boring.
Wait until playing against 4 and 5 star units and 1000+ lvl players and u'll know what's a not fun game
NEED NEW SERVERS TO NEW PLEARS
Wish I got maces for free :(
I am perfectly fine spending 5 bucks to skip: "Win 5 free battles" to unlock Falconetti Gunners when no one fucking plays free battles lmao. Not to mention that it's only available for a few days a week at specific times? Absolutely shitty system but it worked in worming out 5 bucks out of my pocket.
They really need to add bots to free battles its ridiculous I have spent 2 hours in queue :(
I wouldn't even mind free battles is supposed to be a low stacks casual mode!
uhm... you can spend money?
At the end slow motion Wasted
is this game still alive?
Yeah it still lives 😄
im 1 1/2 Season Unlock all unit = No Life :V
Esse jogo é bom, mas o grinding absurdo dos chineses + péssimo balanceamento de unidades sempre me faz quittar do jogo por meses e voltar depois pra ver como está !
as a new player i would say when u got the '' meta troup u r not in time cause the meta is gone '' so as new player the suggestion is uninstall this garbage game
My favourite part is when he played the game
no ptw
Isc
If anyone think that CB F2P is hard... try War Thunder 🤡
It would be fun if the developers would fix the servers and would balance it....but they don't! never! I spent 7000 hours until now and I can honestly say this game is not fun and it's just getting worse and worse
