I was there Saturday , and seeing Billy get all emotional with tears in his eyes , made me think I don't think he knows just how much us fans still love him for what he did fir this club in the 60's , 70's and 80'sas a player and as a manager . Even after he was stabbed in the back by Redknapp , we loved him even more , Thanks for all those wonderful memories Billy
"A" tear? I was a sobbing mess....when you see Billy with tears in his eyes...one of the reasons this club was so special back in the 70/80s was men like him and Sir Trev, the word legend isn't enough.
Such a legend, so deserving of having a stand named after the great man, I am so proud to have a seat in his stand 👍

Legend Billy, and gave the club far more than he ever took. About time West Ham recognised this man after the way he was treated by the board during the Redknapp saga, when Billy left the club acrimoniously. They don’t make em like Bondso anymore.

Neutral here: What a fabulous player-I saw him in action many times and he was as tough as nuts. A well deserved accolade indeed, Billy. The first time I saw him was playing in a pre-season friendly against Bata Sports back in the 60s.

In the early 80s where I stood in the middle of the Chicken Run, he was just known as the King.
Billy Bonds, Trevor Brooking, John Lyall and Ron Greenwood made the West Ham family into what it is today.

Totally agree, though we have tons of brilliant players that never played for England because English managers always wanted Liverpool or Man Utd players for some reason. Pop Robson was another international quality player.
And believe it or not Paulo Di Canio never got capped by Italy
