Perfect.Thank you for that.I lost my Zoom.So i did as your in video. The last time it was so harer to do.But you did a great video,to show us, how easy it can be programming.
Great guide to this product. Cool controller. But very, very expensive. Hard to justify that cost at least for now and where I am on my production journey. Can see the arguments for it though and understand why you would invest in it. Other midi controllers offer instrument like capabilities, for a similar price, and only slightly less daw control (sometimes more daw control). You could probably get free software for custom mappings. I definitely think there’s a market for these but I don’t think beginner producers is it. Think this video needs a caveat comparing to other workflows or justifying the cost. However love the content you make, your videos are great. Cheers.
I just bought a Monogram CC, I think with your code. Quick question: I never saw which button you programmed on your Mixing Profile to switch back to your Producing Profile. Did I miss something? Thx for your channel and your response!
Hey Nathan, I bought a monogram core, and 2 monogram orbiters and I really like the quality of the orbiters. However with the core the 2 buttons on the bottom are slightly wobbly, not that they are bad, but I don't think they made it with the same quality as the orbiters. My question is are the essential keys modules wobbly too or is it more durable? The ideal intention would be for marker skipping as it goes with the workflow.
I got one of those logitech mouses with the side scrolling so moving around and zooming is really easy. And I much prefer to use my keyboard for most of these. Ive spent too much time learning all the keyboard shortcuts. But I can see how it could be useful for moving the playhead as I always find myself accidentally clicking the cycle bar. I have been looking for some midi cc controllers because the last one i had broke and that was years ago and i do a lot of automation work. This one might be out of my price range though
no way it's worth the money over keyboard + apple trackpad. plus, these are always with me wherever I bring my macbook. this product literally solves a problem pretty much nobody has for >400GBP lol
Nathan. When you do the Playhead, it goes slowly. My Orbiter does take just bars. But not as yours, frames or ticks. How you do that,is this a logic settting ?
As expressed by some it is expensive, very expensive in that I did use a $50 off and it does have free shipping but I’m in London Ontario and the company is in Kitchener which is literally up the road an hour and a half away.. however the prices are in USD which I also paid HST on and then it ships from China via DHL and carries another VAT import tax so be for warned it’s a lot when all said and done.. just know this going into the purchase.. my assumption of free shipping from Kitchener was wrong.. however it was free shipping and I did have a discount so… just letting people know.. will do a follow up when I get it hopefully this Friday. Shipping to my work provided no delays and they don’t try to ship it to my work Sat when no one is around… really hope that’s not the case. Looks real neat and can’t wait to try it out.
Hey Shane, Brette from our team was in touch to make sure you received a refund for the import charges. If you haven't received it yet, please let her know via our email thread ASAP. There shouldn't have been any import charges since you pre-paid HST, so I want to apologize for the paperwork error that must have happened. Hope you're enjoying the new console :) - Andy @ Monogram
@@MonogramCreativeConsole yes I posted that before someone had reached out to me. I have got the refund and super happy with your teams handling of that. Good to see good customer service as it goes a long way! Thank you for the support. I’m looking to upgrade to the 16” M1 Max soon and hoping no software issues arise.
Cool. Figured it out. Turns out it seems to matter where you’re grabbing the filter envelope-different CCs being set. Who knew? Well, you obviously. Me learn. Appreciate the response.
There a loads of midi controllers worth $$500-1k 🤷♂️ My other controller is $1200 Not saying it's cheap - but saying this is for the Rockefeller's is quite the exaggeration.
@@NathanJamesLarsen they look great and will do everything i would want but at 3 / 400 dollars that's alot of money for midi control that's just a click away it's a real shame I think eventually they may come down in price
Faders are not motorized? So every time you use the gain fader on a new channel, instead of being able to do a minor adjustment of a db or two, the gain will leap to where the fader is currently sitting????? That would be unusable.
No it does not leap - don't think you understood what I said. I said you have to move the fader to "catch" where the gain is. Example: If you have your fader at 0dB and the track you select is at -6 then you would need to move the fader down to minus 6 before it'd adjust anything. It doesn't automatically just switch you gain around - that would be a problem but isn't what I said
But considering we have an easy way to press "stop/play" or "record" right from our keyboards, is this really worth having? Not sure about Logic, but in Ableton (ahem ; p ) you can key map as well. I LOVE the way this console looks but am wondering IF it really does speed up workflow
lol, absolutely right. I mean if you're a professional, investing in something that gives you some marginal efficiency boost might be worth it (theoretically: faster work = more money in same amount of working hours). For a hobbyist to think that the crazy amount this costs would be worth it in terms of the diminishing returns compared to just using hotkeys... yeah, right lmao. dude literally mapped it to zoom functionality... I'm good with my multitouch apple trackpad lol for me it's easy: keyboard + trackpad all the way; with the money saved you could buy a dedicated mixing controller like console one. PS: UA-camrs making $ off of hyping up products is very much a thing.
But all these buttons shortcuts works the same as your keyboard… Why not just use keyboard? Just click the key, It’s convenient, definitely faster than moving your hand left to this thing and find the button to push down… All you need is just the fader, but there are tons of CC faders on the market which way cheaper than this thing, also comes with more than 3 faders…
My emotional journey…. Watch video… ‘Wow this is cool. Don’t need it. But I want this.’ Checks website… ‘Suppose I could sell one of my kids….’ Seriously, very cool, but the price for what it ultimately is, is waaaaaayyyyy too much. Even with $40 off.
Nice to see your reply sir, I'm confused about how much gain i have to set up on my sound card for good audio and is it necessary to normalisation the audio clip I'm using fl studio
@@ShaanSufi As far as gain - basically you don't want to be coming in louder than -6dB as a safe threshold. Beyond that - that's basically it. If it's too loud you'll have issues and if you go way below -18dB it will be a bit too quiet. Anywhere in between is good and you don't need to normalize.
Nathan, First, love the sans hat look. 👌🏻 Second, excellent review. I’ve used mine for a few months and love it, though it never occurred to me to set up separate mix profile. Is there an easy way to switch between these profiles without having to go into the Monogram editor? Thanks!
Hey there, Kevin here @ Monogram. Yes, it's just a matter of assigning 'next profile' or 'previous profile' to buttons. Typically folks assign this to their Core Module (the one with the screen). Hope that helps!
Yep, got mine a few weeks ago and it is simply amazing. LOVE it when I get something that I use daily.
The editing on this NEXT LEVEL

Ok, how did you did that trick with the low- and high-pass filters? I can’t get that functionality.
Have to "learn CC controls" a simple Google search will show you how to learn controls in your daw

hey there nathan! is your $40 coupon still active? would love to use it
I suggest to not buying at the moment. Please check some blogs about delivery problems at first.
Nathan, what desk do you have?
I'm using the Buso Audio's Artist 88. I absolutely love it but it did take like two months to get it after ordering which was pretty annoying
