They were a part of the last show I saw before lockdown, in 2019. Was them, Asking Alexandria and Papa Roach. It was phenomenal! AA was not something I was into before seeing them live, but they killed it too. And it goes without saying that Papa Roach was great.
You will LOVE this one for sure. And the original. AND you for sure would get along with Tommy as well. He’s basically black balled for being super Conservative and very vocal ( no pun intended ). Another good person for you to have on and collab with. 💯
😂 The coping skills going on in the comments is amazing. Cant wait to watch this reaction, but I do agree with the sentiment of reacting to the original. (If you havent heard the Cranberries performance) Edit: Seriously, when you watch the original you'll get a better appreciation of the Bad Wolves' video. Brings me to tears, R.I.P. Dolores. ❤
The message of the original song is one of the most emotional issues, and what I love about this cover is some specific words where changed around. From the USA but was adopted and most of my birth family is from England and Ireland, so I hear from both sides about the ira and the English having troops on the ground. This song, and Dolores are treasures and have even given me and my old metal band inspiration for songs and ways to word the lyrics!
This song hits 10,000 times harder being an Irishman. I had family who died in the very wars this original song sang about. Hearing that Dolores was going to sing with them breaks my heart to dust. I beg you to look up the trobles in Ireland to get some history on the subject. I loved this reaftion to bits, keep it up!!!
I interprete the video as showing how Dolores left her mark on this world with this iconic song and her haunting vocals with traditional Irish vocal techniques. Her influence is still felt. 😢❤
I disagree with a LOT of what Tommy Vext is saying, but as a singer and artist, he is amazing, and this song is AWESOME !!! Such a great cover and honor to the legacy of Dolores !
Delores was due to reprise her role in this song she came to London to film and record with bad wolves but she suddenly and shockingly died in her hotel. Bad wolves still did the cover and donated all of the proceeds to her children
People who spoke against the narrative in 2020 because they knew something just wasn't right will forever be my brothers and sisters and forever have my respect. I lost friends and family during that time, not to the pandemic, but to the frenzy it created. I love to hear you are a free thinker, BP. Much love.
Tommys voice is pure electricity. He can sing anything. Tommy was unceremoniously kicked out of Bad Wolves because he expressed conservative views publicly.
Hurt by Johnny cash, sound of silence by disturbed and this are all in the same discussion for best covers ever done. That truly capture the original and invoke the emotion originally felt. I love the subdued colors except the gold. Really well done on all fronts.
"Another mother's breaking heart is taking over. When the violence causes silence, we must be mistaken!" This is one of the most powerful, and heart wrenching, verses I have ever heard, and it is so poignant toward humanity as it stands!
This song is amazing. Should check out more of there songs. Sober is great song. But I do recommend listening to the original version of this song as well. So powerful and moving.
What's really f^cking sad is that Dolores wrote this about the chaotic turmoil of Ireland since 1916 and the marketplace bombing in '93 that killed some children. If I am remembering this right, they had to skirt what they were really filming in the original. Bad Wolves changed 1916 to "in 2018", added "drones"... and this sh!t just keeps on and on and on. Her last name is pronounced O.reer.dun
One of the most important and universally applicable songs in modern World History. Certainly applies to multiple conflicts happening in the world today.
You need to listen to his Bad Wolves song Remember When. It's about him looking up to his twin brother early in life and then being murdered by him (and obviously revived) in a break in.
Ufc fighter Korean Zombie had the most iconic retirement a couple months ago while the original was playing (also his walkout song) the entire crowd was singing along as usual.
I agree Bad Wolves did an excellent cover. Nice to have someone representing Dolores in the video with a call back to the original. That said you need to check out the Cranberries. With😢 her Irish accent and vocal sounds she can create that are typical to folk music in Ireland, she is a unique vocalist to check out. The whole band is great. I cannot think of a song on their first 2 albums that I would tell you to skip. The next two were hit or miss for me, but held several gems none the less. A brief explanation of a few songs that will have more meaning if you understand a bit. I would like to see you react with knowledge on a few songs due to their meaning. Example, when the song Zombie was getting a lot of radio play the teens I worked with loved the song but did not understand the song. They heard some of the phrases, but it just never clicked. We sat down and talked about the lyrics and the reason the song was written. They still loved it, still sang with the chorus but they did not stomp around acting like jacka__es during the chorus anymore, once they understood the song. Start with Zombie. It was a song that loudly and boldly said ENOUGH. The IRA (Irish Republican Army) and British had been battling over Northern Ireland since 1916. Too many children died. Towards the end the people on both sides were fed up with children dying and the war. Cranberries gave themselves and the people a voice to say ooen your eyes and enough is enough. U2 is another Irish band that did not turn away either. Their song Sunday Bloody Sunday is another one about (The Troubles) aka the War. As an aside U2 wrote songs about other places and other troubles within Ireland and in other countries. Bullet the Blue Sky, Running to Stand Still, Walk On, MLK, Exit, Red Hill Mining Town, and In God's Country to name a few. Finally, though there are many examples I think this one deserves a mention. Sting wrote a song They Dance Alone as a, "symbolic gesture of protest against the Chilean dictator Pinochet whose regime killed thousands of people between 1973-1990." The wives/mothers could say nothing in protest. Pinochet's regime would only allow them to dance/stand while holding a photo of their beloved person that was missing. Sting also wrote a lovely song called Fragile that is good advice to all.
"Remember When" (another Bad Wolves song, before they and Tommy parted ways) is also VERY much worth a watch and listen. It's about his brother, and it is a heart breaker.
Masterpiece is right! I'm kinda new to your channel and came across this while scanning your older content and just had to comment even if no one ever sees it. This is no dis to Dolores and the Cranberries in the slightest, but hearing this song when it first came out, the lyrics are so dark and tragic because we humans just can't seem to find a way to peacefully coexist, I always heard a much heavier in-your-face version in my head. So, when I heard this Bad Wolves cover, I thought - YES, THIS IS IT! I was blown away because this is exactly the way I always wanted to hear this song. It's perfection!
Saw him live in concert in El Paso, Tx, at a place called 'The Rockhouse.' HE KICKED ASS!!! Please watch the original song/video by The Cranberries. It gives you some insight as to where they're coming from.
Great reaction to a great singer. His newer solo stuff is awesome too. The industry still tries to keep him down. He was fired from bad wolves for speaking his political views. Check out any he's done as "The Lone Wolf" the last 2 years. Fantastic.
Btw, the gold painted wiman is in reference to original video. So, if you do check out original, please choose the video, for reference. This is a fantastic cover. Delores fully endorsed thevupdated version. The original had to do thw the fight between the IRA and the British over Occupation of Northern Ireland. Specifically written when two young children were killed in an IRA bombing in England.😊
Ty for educating me on his back story. Never knew!! The original has been a favorite since its release for me. The scene of the hands on the window kicked up some allergies up in here lol. Again thank you!
You have to watch the original as well . They did a good cover of this song . But Delores is more haunting. Another one I love from the Cranberries is Ode to Family. She has a haunting powerful voice.
This is a great cover - no doubt.. however the original carries way more weight with the complete level of emotion behind it. For reference Cranberries are an Irish band and the song is about The Troubles- a really violent and horrid time period in recent (1960's - 2000 ish) history in Ireland.
If you loved this then I highly recommend the following: 1. Bad Wolves - “Remember When” 2. Tommy Vext - “Trust the Science” feat. Topher 3. Hi-Rez & Jimmy Levy “God Over Government” 4. Topher & The Marine Rapper “The Patriot”
I echo so many here. You NEED to see the og song now. Zombie by the Cranberries is an insanely powerful song and video. IF you watch it, do yourself the favor and look into the story behind it as well. It's powerful subject matter.
He doesn't have a good personality. He was removed from Bad Wolves because has a toxic piece of shit and a consummate liar. He stole from Bad Wolves, he lied to his fans to maintain a false status. There is a reason why this piece of shit no longer has anything to do with the music industry outside of his own doings.
Very true. iirc the song originally was about the war/ terrorism between Ireland and North Ireland. Updated in this cover slightly to more current wars. I could be wrong? Either way, the sentiment is there regardless.
I really enjoy this cover and Tommy Vext is very talented. Sadly, he and the band parted ways; and his social media stuff was taken down later because he settled a copyright infringement lawsuit with his ex band/label. He was releasing new content on those accounts that was actually owned by the band/label. It didn’t have anything to do with his politics. That said, whatever your views on his politics, you can’t deny that he is a very talented singer!
Dolores was going to do a new verse on this cover. She loved it so much, that it motivated her to record with Bad Wolves and do a new verse. IIRC, she passed away on that same day as she was on her way to the studio to do the recording.
@@sarategg3664 I thought I remembered seeing somewhere that she was on her way to the studio, but definitely could be wrong on that, as I'm going solely off of memory. I apologize if my memory isn't correct on that one.
You will appreciate the video so much more after you see the original cranberries version. You need to go watch that one and then come back and watch this one again. Please.
Yes its Tommy. The gold woman represents Delores from the original video with The Cranberries. I saw Bad Wolves with Tommy twice and once without him. I missed Tommy
You should check out the song "Remember When", another from his run with Bad Wolves. Can't really say much about it without spoiling the subject matter, but it's an experience.
One of the greatest covers ever! So damn powerful and I’m a huge fan of the original. I’ve loved the Cranberries since their first hit Linger from Everybody else is doing it So why can’t We! Dolores O’Riordon had such a beautiful voice and she was an amazing soul. Her death from a drug overdose was a massive loss to the world. Black Pegasus not sure if you’ve seen the Cranberries video for the original but if not for golden female figure is basically their version of Dolores from the Cranberries official video. Beautiful song and as you said this remake is a masterpiece!
Yo love your reactions. You should revisit some more Howard Jones former lead vocalist of Killswitch Engage ( You reacted to End of Heartache) and later his current band Light the torch. Please a look at the project he worked on a couple of years ago with music UA-camr Jared Dines called "Sion" and song called "The Blade". I think you would enjoy it.

Fun fact Tommy Vext the lead singer filled in for Five Finger Death Punch's lead singer, while Ivan was battling his alcohol problems.
Another fun fact: Bad Wolves was the only band Delores gave official permission to cover Zombie. Also F bad wolves for the way they treated Tommy.
It was one of the best cover songs ever, but the original is still super iconic. The Cranberries were incredible.
PLEASE, react to the original. The gold woman in this video is so much more emotional when you've seen the original.
i believe that the women is this video is dalores's daughter dont quote me on that though
i love how they changed to text to fit the modern war tactics. its a nice touch
@@sarategg3664 I had to check. The gold woman in the video is Ava Capra.
The 1-15-18 that the woman writes in the paint was the date that Delores from the Cranberries passed away.
I saw bad wolves open for five finger death punch several years ago. They closed with Zombie. They killed it

Out of respect, please react to the original by The Cranberries. You’re making a big deal of Tommy when all credit goes to the cranberries.
To be fair he literally said after the track ended, the original is amazing. Before he gave props to tommy and bad wolves. So I reckon he's heard it
It fr is…been listening to this one for maybe a year, and a month or two ago the original came on the radio and it was fire 🔥
