Get the lyrics. Most of us sang the wrong words for years to a lot of rock and rap. Many people still do. lol. I promise it’s not just because you’re not accustom to the sound, the vocals tend to sit more in the mix than hip hop and if they are singing the words can literally blend into the music. Absolutely no shame in reading the lyrics.

A band from my childhood and adolescence they hold a special place in my musical heart. Check out nightwish one of my absolute favorite bands check out their song dark chest of wonders
I want to mention that the masks that appear occasionally through the video are likely references to "They Live," a 1988 John Carpenter film where the protagonist "discovers through special sunglasses that the ruling class are aliens concealing their appearance and manipulating people to consume, breed, and conform to the status quo via subliminal messages in mass media." It's a pretty clear metaphor for the Marxist idea of class consciousness, which seems to be a foundational concept for the song, as well. I think the frequent shading of the band in black and red is another nod in that direction. Barbarisms by Barbaras with pointed heels - "Barbara," being a common upper-class white name is being used as a generic stand-in for the wealthy's support of foreign military operations with the goal of establishing and propagating American empire, giving them the feeling of being "on top." Victorious Victorias kneel for brand new spanking deals - A similar setup here but placing the metaphorical lady from before in a subservient position, this time to the interests of capital. It illustrates the hierarchy embedded into the system and shows that, ultimately, their dominance is an illusion. No matter where you are on the economic food chain, everyone must serve the global system of capital. You depend on our protection, yet you feed us lies from the tablecloth - The bourgeoisie rely on the working class to support and protect their lifestyles but, since this is clearly not in the best interest of the proletariat, the owning class must rely on deception and manipulation to pacify the workers, maintain false consciousness and prevent revolution. Everybody's going to the party, have a real good time - Can be read as the owning class presenting war as an honorable or even entertaining endeavor to maintain public support or the rejection of any modes of political thought outside the approved status quo as represented by the two existing _political_ parties. Breaking into Fort Knox, stealing our intentions - Possibly a reference to "Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of Mass Media" by Edward Herman and Norm Chomsky. It posits that "the mass communication media of the U.S. 'are effective and powerful ideological institutions that carry out a system-supportive propaganda function, by reliance on market forces, internalized assumptions, and self-censorship, and without overt coercion', by means of the propaganda model of communication." Hangars sitting dripped in oil, crying, "Freedom" - Yup. I think the rest should be fairly obvious and I'm bored of typing.
Nice content bro. First time I ever heard of you was when I used to watch team backpack videos and saw a Cypher you did. Glad to see you pop back up on my feed.
I enjoy your intelligent and authentic breakdowns. You 'react', but you offer an informed outlook and response that is usually well reasoned and insightful. I think you should easily in the millions for subs, because listening to you feels like listening to an old friend. Also, your original content does not go unnoticed and is quite good. Keep killing it, Black!
Their best song imo is ‘Question?!’ This video is influenced heavily by the movie ‘They Live’. Great movie from the 80’s. That’s where all the video imagery comes from.
I’m more on the speed of Ozzy’s War Pigs myself, but I’ve never had the time to sit down and figure out the lyrics to songs like these. Too busy working, raising babies, and watching the actual news to keep my family safe. Thank you. It’s actually interesting now that I’m old. 😊

'are effective and powerful ideological institutions that carry out a system-supportive propaganda function, by reliance on market forces, internalized assumptions, and self-censorship, and without overt coercion', by means of the propaganda model of communication."
Hangars sitting dripped in oil, crying, "Freedom" - Yup.
I think the rest should be fairly obvious and I'm bored of typing.
Nice content bro. First time I ever heard of you was when I used to watch team backpack videos and saw a Cypher you did. Glad to see you pop back up on my feed.
I listened to Hypnotize and Mesmerize for years after their releases. SOAD was so different back then and did not disappoint.
glad ya got it man.... one of my fav reaction's
As someone who loved hard-core growing up my mate got me in to soad and I love every album
System of a Down & Wu Tang's "Shame" is an underrated banger, you gotta check it out!
Their best song imo is ‘Question?!’
This video is influenced heavily by the movie ‘They Live’.
Serj Tankian does vocals on a track with Tech N9ne as well. One of my favorite tracks from Tech and I'm a huge fan. I grew up with S.O.A.D and Serj's unique vocal skills
You get it! Much Love from Australia, I just subscribed
ohh yeah, keep the SOAD reactions commeing
im jealous of everyone who gets to hear this banger for the first time. but then again, im happy ive been able to enjoy it for almost 2 decades now.
Serj has that angel voice
Their entire catalogue is totally worth listening to, absolutely incredible musicians with amazing lyricism. I recommend Prison Song next if you haven’t heard it yet.
Hey i loved ur reaction to this , its great to see people who grew up listening to one type of music can now appreciate what us metal heads loved all along , but even as a metal head i still loved other kinds of music to just that metal was my fave , soad singer serj tankien , did solo stuff too empty walls was a great one , the music video being especially moving ..... also question by soad is another fave honestly the list goes on n on 🤘🏼🖤🤘🏼
BP you could react to the entire discography and we’ll be here for it. This band is just too amazing. Toxicity and Steal This Album are my personal favorite albums from SOAD. Every album is a banger from start to finish.
Great analysis on this one! Do their songs Spiders or Deer Dance next.
I do love SOAD, and your reaction was lovely. I have nothing to add that wasn't already commented on, merely a suggestion. Under the catagory ethnic folk metal, specifically Indian. Think SOAD meets Bollywood, the band is Bloodywood, a great start is Gaddaar, but they have many fantastic songs, great catalog. Fully subtitled for ease of understanding. Really love them, and love your depth of reaction. I think you will love the mix of melody, and rap. Enjoy
BRO!!! If you haven’t heard it, you HAVE to react to SOAD’s cover of Shame on a N***a by Wu Tang.
