Nice! Did you know though that Holley also sells just highbeam bulbs for this light? It comes with a two-prong plug so just match the polarity and presto!
@@shift_points When I was going through my 86 K10, I had to replace the Radiator support. When I put the wiring back, I upgraded some of it. As for the headlights, Iwill commonly replace all 4 lights with Hi/Lo beams. This gives you a low beam that you can swap should one burn out. BUT in todays cars with running lights, I wired the low beam in the HI beam location to a switch and relay, with acc control power to run as a running light. I can turn it off any time and it comes on when you start the truck if the switch is on. Some like this idea, some don't. Since FORD has come out with a HD truck that runs all 4 lights all the time and blinds other drivers, I run the lights as I please these days. Gotta be seen, LOL.
@@kevinjames9511 I did that. My headlight system is 4, 2 on each side. the configuration is drive light on top, Hi beam on bottom. I ran a relay with a switch. the switch is on the acc power so it turns off when the truck turns off. The relay powers from battery to the light so I am not putting load on the ACC ckt. so I can run with the lower drivers on or off. the bright beam will run normally.
The problem I had with my 86 Square Body k10 was the sealed beams, branded (made in CHINA) will lose the seal. This problem began about 15 years ago. The seal breaks and one day you will look at your truck headlight and see moisture or even water inside the bulb. This will be the cause of early light failure and it takes the silver off of the reflector. If you buy the expensive replacement sealed beam, figure you have about 2 years before they fail again. We are being forced into the LED lights because the old faithful sealed beams are not reliable anymore.
@@harriswaller7002 I recently got a set for my Galaxie and it did have the adapter but this set didn't for some reason. What I did here is the same thing but it would have been nice to have it supplied lol
@@TimTaylor0320 I really appreciate that! I really love them! Everytime I turn them on leaving the shop I'll say to dad "this things got some headlights! 😂😂"
@@shift_points ok where do I get them from? I was actually looking up a video on how to replace a turn signal bulb and this video popped up. I’m glad it did. I can’t stand the old dingy yellow color from the factory headlights
@@TimTaylor0320 you can get them straight from Holley and they also have them on Summit just look up Retrobright modern white. They are pretty pricey but I got these on sale when I did this.
Your headlight buckets are rusted badly. Those buckets are not available locally by me and I couldn't find them on line when I was looking. You need to either take them off the truck and sand blast them or sand them and paint them OR treat them with oil, I use mineral oil on rusted metal under the truck to stop the rust. Your buckets appear to have a good start on the rust and that is thin metal and they will rust through pretty fast. (Ask me how I know).
@@lifequest7453 that's fair! It is ridiculous how fast dang rust can take over. I'll be swapping these or getting them cleaned up eventually lol this old truck has been a piece at a time for 6 years now.

I found out after I placed the order 😂 That would have for sure been easier!
I thought there was also a way to setup all four lights as both high and low… or am I mistaken?
