WHATS UP SQUAREBODY PEOPLE! The day has FINALLY come! I was able to get (some) brakes on the blue 1980 C10 squarebody pickup. I didnt get the front bled yet but the rear drum brakes were just enough stopping power to go for a test spin around the property! This truck is already so much fun and its only going to get better! Be sure you like comment and subscribe to stay updated on all the progress!
I am also currently filming an episode for the red JunkYard Dog C10 where we pull the motor and get ready for a new smallblock 350!

If you use your eys you can tell that when the backing plate has a oil stain that means there’s a leak on the other side, just a tip so you learn a little bit more about automotive work.also you need to visually inspect all the brake system, because if you don’t it will be the first to let you know you missed something.

You need to go to your auto parts store. Ask him for 5 gallon bucket of carburetor cleaner to soak stuff in. They use them in the sonic soakers carburetor cleaner. You can put them parts inside of the 5 gallon bucket and then soap for like a half hour and stuff this wipes right off but if you go to Harbor freight, you can get one of sonic soaker and stick stuff in there and clean it quicker.

Go get a mighty vac , pull the bleader screw put some bearing grease on the threads ,you will get a much better suction by doing this. Never pump the brakes that hard n fast you’ll upset the proportioning valve. Bring the pressure up evenly between fronts and rears .

No problem. Also, sounds to me your timing is too advanced which is why the starter is struggling. With this warmer weather, that engine should fire right off of the timing is correct. Loosen the hold down clamp and turn the distributor clockwise. Provided that tdc was set properly, your vacuum advance canister on the distributor should point somewhere towards the 4 and 6 header primaries, and that should get you close enough until you can put a timing light on it.
