What a labor of love. He more than just swapped the frame. He refurbished restored the guts of the 2001, and the body of 1966, and then fitted them together.
Kool! I just built a ‘65 c10 for a customer! Cut the floor & firewall out of 2000 silverado & welded the 65 cab 2 that! Never disconnected the floor from the chassis r removed any running gear! Lots of difficulties though due 2 the 99up chassis/ body mounts being mounted further forward! Built at least a dozen old hotrod cars & trucks this way! But used the 88-98 donor chassis & floor/firewall! Great way 2 build & eliminate the floor rot at the same time! I’m going 2 build my grandad’s ‘64 c10 from a 2006 4WD Tahoe! Have been told the chassis is correct length! Don’t know bout that yet, but had 2 add 7 inches 2 the front of the bed on the ‘65! U have inspired me 2 get on with it, but I have so many other projects 2 finish 1st! 👍👌
A very impressive level of attention to detail. The only thing that detracts from the end result (if I may) is the lack of body work and OEM level of paint.
Otro nivel🎉 Ojalá algún día me acerqué sabe de todos los temas tansiquiera en el animo que lo iguale yoo😅 Una troca vieja con las prestaciones de una mas Reciente❤🎉
Wow, what an amazing transformation for this beautiful Abandoned V8 Chevrolet C10 pickup truck. You all demonstrated and performed some very exceptional top tier automotive mechanical repairs and restoration. You guys are so good, you all should run a summer youth program or spread your wealth of knowledge at a local high school automotive class on automotive repairs and restoration. Share that beautiful wealth of knowledge with today's future youth. Great job guys, I'm proud of you and the people you have become to be.
I get that. This is a super cool project but I have a hard time appreciating the patina look. I've had enough crap cars that I don't really understand the desire for a high end restoration to look like junk.
@@donparker1823 Don, you Pete and I are of the same mind. I cannot imagine putting all that time and money into this only to end up with a junky looking truck. But, to his defense, It is his truck, his taste.
All you need to do is to paint a vehicle to today's standards yourself to understand patina. A "nice" paint job (ie. no Earl Scheib paint jobs) entails removing all dents and fixing all rusted panels, then bondo, then sanding the entire vehicle through all the steps, then primer or sealer, then 2k, then blocking, then taping, then color coat and clear. After that you need to wet sand the clear and then cut and buff - and you need to do this all yourself and pay for all the materials ($2-3K minimum). Expect it to take a minimum of 6 months of nights and weekends if you are diligent and multiple years if you are not (most never finish). Then you will truly understand the patina crowd. Don't want to do the work? You can write a check, but at the very least you are looking at about $12k at the very low end for a "nice" paint job if your vehicle is near perfect to start with.
But all he actually saved were parts of the old body. Everything else is from the victim Tahoe. I'm glad he likes it because I wouldn't want any of it.
Incredible! You guys have serious skills, thanks for sharing this journey. I learned how to drive on this truck but with a 3 on the tree. I get so tired of seeing the slammed to the ground C-10s with LS7 swaps, and streamlined bodys. This looks, and I would think, performs like a proper truck. Only thing I would change is I would have fixed the rust holes in the front of the hood. Amazing work, how does it run?
Same!! Gloss clear over rust just dont hit me right. Some days almost wish I put flat clear on my 'El and called it a day rather than 10 yrs 2 paint shops and way too much $
What impressive work! Glad to see a man your age that can do that much work to create such a piece of art. You have a talent that is becoming a rare trait now a days. Hope you enjoy that Bow Tie for many years.
@@JWnFlorida Not really...some arent into bling and power but want a nice looking ride. Usually the lowrider crowd. I like both power and nice paint, like driving a new car
Really good work, good attention to detail. Lots of hard work done, I would not have sprayed clear on the rust and dents, kinda looks fake. Otherwise super good job.
Thank you for your share! I reply to all comments on the original video on my page if anyone has any questions or more details. 😃
Thank you for your cooperation, and best of luck with your future projects!

Aging paint...maybe. But rust has 0 appeal, Id paint it too.
Cant wrap my head around how much work and $ it took to do this.
Oh my ! This was such a great build ! Well done ! 👍
This man is an artist
perfect restores 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Fantastic build. Personally, I'd sand that body down and give it the slick paint job it deserves after all that hard work. Great job anyway.
Man, you had me until you decided not to paint the truck. To each their own, but if I put that much work into a vehicle, I’m going to paint it.
Agree totally. Not a fan of rust, clear wont stop it either.
Brother you have so many different skills. What an amazing job. This is truly a treasure from the past saved!
But it's NOT! The body is all that's left of this old classic. Even the interior is basically trashed. I wouldn't have that junk given to me.

Thank you!
@@FLManGarage How long did it take you and how long to work all the bugs out? Ive done frame offs with no swaps and know what it takes.
Good job

For all the work put into this transformation, the bodywork would have loved the same attention.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the patina (hipster rust) look. Still, whatever makes you happy.

I like everything done, with one exception. The interior door panels are more "nasty" vibe than "worn and cool". Thanks for the video, nicely done!
I agree with you! I will be wrapping them in vinyl to match the seat at some point 😃
That truck looks sweet! Good job!
Fantastic craftsmanship details amazing.
A very beautiful truck 💯
Wow. I've never seen one of these where you leave the dents, rust holes and overall original look intact. Nice.
My favorite body style Chevy ever made! Awesome project!
Great craftsmanship and excellent results! Beautiful truck!! 😍
Nice job sir Nice truck sir Nice show 😃👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍

Love every aspect but the body. Such a beautiful shape deserves a clean finish.
Excellent job. Congratulation. Luiz Paulo - Rio de Janeiro- Brasil

Dude this is so sick, i cannot even begin to explain how cool this is.

Cheaper than a new truck, plus it will last longer

Tears fell as the music started to play. It was as if that old car was singing its final song, echoing like it once did, before leaving forever.

You're a Genius!
Helal olsun ustaya her beceri var onda tebrikler.
You are a master and a well rounded mechanic, to pull this off.
Sure is! Electrical, fabbing on and on. Dont think Id have the patience to literally rebuild the truck adapting everything to work.
SWEET RIDER!
FREAKING AWESOME!!!!
My dream truck is a mid-60s step side like this. I have a 2003 Yukon and this idea never crossed my mind. Would be an amazing build.
This is a hell of a lotta work, time and $. Sure it drives nice but Id just put an engine trans and update a few things on the original frame
Excelente trabajo
