Flexx, thank you for this video. I purchased this MASSIVE touchscreen from DMP and installed it in my '16 C300. I had this video playing on my iPad as I successfully completed the install. I LOVE THE NEWLY ADDED FUNCTIONALITY! Sadly, Mercedes termination of 3G meant that much of the COMAND system became useless. This new screen replaces the OEM Mercedes apps with easily updatable Android/iPhone apps. I love when people in SUVs are behind me at night at a traffic light. It's awesome to see their jaws drop if I switch from Google Maps to Spotify to Google Podcasts to iHeart Radio and so on. The new processor is almost as fast as the one in my also brand-new OnePlus 11 5G! Functionally and aesthetically it is PERFECT! The last time that I opened up a dash was to install a Blaupunkt head unit in a 1994 Saturn. This video gave me the confidence of knowing that I could install it myself! Thanks Flexx! Keep up the good...nah...GREAT WORK! Arnel in Pittsburgh
The Orange cables Connection with the black connector is key to have sound. Very good job Flexx you resolve my problem that I have since 4 days. I appreciate your clear and detail video . Bonjour from Lyon France Flexx
I installed the 12" on my 2019 GLC 300. Here are the pros of cons: Pros: - Large screen display transforms the interior of the car to look modern. - Audio works on music app, video app, android auto, UA-cam etc. from the screen without installing the extra mic and speaker that came in the box (but audio has 3 sec delay). Voice command from screen maps app also works including navigation directions. Cons: - The phone audio does not work. DMP said I have to install the speaker and mic that came in the box, which does not look good on the car. I have to connect the Bluetooth of my phone to the factory MBUX instead for phone calls audio to work. - Using the audio-USB delays the sound from the screen by 3 seconds, so you can't actually watch a movies on the screen when the picture is 3 seconds ahead of the audio. Another screen vendor has coded similar android screen unit to work with aux directly, instead of using the audio-USB. I think this a major issue that needs to be addressed. Anyone know how to fix the 3 seconds audio delay when using the audio-USB cable? - After adjusting the android screen setting to always automatically connect to WiFi, it does not work. You have to always go into the android setting and turn on the WiFi manually every time you enter your car. This is annoying. Connecting your phone Bluetooth to the screen also disables the Wi-Fi. Is there at least a way to have the unit share internet via Bluetooth work? - The factory screen options will still show but you can only use the scroll to navigate those options (not touch screen). This is not a big deal. ** The unit came with a 4G antenna? Some ppl call it a Wi-Fi antenna. Can I remove this antenna if I'm not using 4G or do I still need it for Wi-Fi?
Installed in my C63 w205. Install went smooth enough. Do suggest not pulling down the vents to make more space took long time to get them in again, there is enough room without releasing them to route cables. Screen works as expected, all good. Only thing I don't like is the brightness during sunny days, but cloudy or night its fine.
Installed the same one on my C350e, absolutely love it. CarPlay works great. I got a SIM card for it with data only and it’s really good. The Chinese android tablet head units have come a long way
Best video I've found regarding the multimedia. I regret not being in the States so that we could do this together. In Switzerland everything is damn overpriced..
Installed the new 12.3" Android 13 (Amazon - Ninetom Seller/Brand ~$509) my W205 2017 c300 today. I skipped the extra Mic, Speaker, Wifi, and Gps part since I will mainly be using the built-in Carplay features with my iPhone 12. Total installation time: ~ 4 hours ( 2 hours yesterday - completely forgot to plug in audio box into the center console/armrest area and the second white (left) main smaller connector which grants access to the old OEM interface and backup camera. 2 hours today - going back in to correct the previous mentioned and cleaning up wires) The most annoying part of the install was routing the wires through the back of the center console, behind the vent. Unfortunately, my vent was weird and when I clipped it down like in the video at 8:35 it didn't want to snap back in place on both sides so it's only snapped up on the right, but it should hold. Used electrical tape to keep the wires together and neat. One tip of advice, which isn't shown in the video well due to the editing, but transfer the two Torx20 screws from the previous bracket to the new one BEFORE putting it in place below the dash. The bracket has clips to keep these screws in place from jumping around. Don't try and lower the screws from the top of the dash into the new bracket - you most likely will lose one. In case you did: N000000000530 is the part #, the sizing is roughly M4 X 25MM. The screw can be found via Ebay etc. Lastly, when setting up my Carplay, I had to go into the OEM audio section and select "AUX" instead of Bluetooth because it was changing back to the Mercedes BT every 2 minutes when in Carplay. I also went into the "Factory" settings section (password: 190627 - most will have this) and select "Manual" instead of "Automatic" under the [Vehicle] Tab - subsection [Audio]. Now I can use Carplay without it going mute/pausing every 2 minutes and when I use my charging cable it auto connects to Carplay as well. Local Best Buy did not want to install the device and so with the help of Flexx's tutorial and some extra research to correct a few user mistakes, this upgrade is now complete! Good luck and have fun - its well worth it!
Nice video. Just installed the exact same size on my W205. My friends said it's too large in proportion. But my principal is, Go Big or Go Home. Or Stay Calm and follow whatever mods Flexx is on and you won't go wrong. Lol.
The video is very helpful, I managed to install the kit by myself. The thing is, you have to be careful with cables routing, as the amount of space is very limited and I had to make several corrections to have everything properly fit back in place. What I don't like about the set is that you have to choose both bluetooth connections for the carkit and OEM BT to be able to use OEM loudspeakers for calls AND be able to operate the phone via carkit's menu - the issue is then, carkit's BT connection gets prioritized over MB bluetooth, so calls are, by default, directed to the little crappy speaker and every single time you have to manually change BT connection on your phone to MB BT. Annoying. I don't know if it's possible to permanently change priority to have the calls operated by OEM bluetooth. 13:29 - those little covers are so incredibly tightly fit, it's impossible to open them with a finger. There's so little space around, I actually managed to scratch the surrounding area and break my mini screwdriver in order to open those bloody things. The heads of those mounting screws (13:42) are too big in diameter, so when I finally mounted the unit and closed those covers, those little plastic hinges keeping them in place broke instantly. 14:02 - good luck with re-inserting air conditioning tunnel. I spent about an hour getting the damn thing back in place and managed to do it somewhat by accident. Again, you have to be really careful and precise with how you route the cables, otherwise you won't be able to snap it back into place.
Hi, were you able to solve those problems? I am thinking about buying one for myself. How does it feel like after using it a period of time? is it as smooth as the OEM system?
@@JC-dm6sk No, I wasn't. Got couple of system upgrades from the dealer, problem remains unresolved. Generally speaking, system integration with Android smartphone is very poorly implemented - in fact so poorly, it's best to assume it's just not working.
Very good detailed video and this will indeed fit the GLC too as I have a very similar one in my car, but this unit has clearer images on the NTG and reverse camera functions. Great work 👍
This is awesome Flexx. I was looking at this kit but wondering how it looks and how to install it. I have a few questions please. I have a 2017 C43. Is it correct that the steering wheel controls won’t work for up down track skipping, but the volume buttons will work? And is there any dependency with the USB ports? I don’t have an AUX option in my 8.4” COMAND NTG 5.5 system. Will this still work for my car? Thank you.
Hi. I’ve fixed it in my W205 C200. But when we tried the function, the usb is not connected and the volume cannot be adjusted. We checked the installation, nothing went wrong. And also, for the CarPlay, it cannot access the UA-cam as well.
Installed mine a few weeks ago, I wound up not using the new micro & speaker just bc I didn't want to tbh & works fine. Also, if you don't have Hotspot then you should look into getting a SIM just so the display can run YT/Netflix, Android auto works fine without but for the full features
Interesting. I skipped the microphone install too and it sounds like I’m talking down a hallway. I’m going back to install the microphone hoping it fixes that
Why do you place the aux usb on the cars usb port in the center console? What is the usb for? If its for audio/aux input the car doesn’t have that on those ports?
Yes it works long term. And no, it’s not like a normal tablet where you spend hours a day on, downloading apps, downloading stuff, storing pics/files/videos constantly. That’s what leads to performance degradation. On a cars android screen, people don’t treat it like an everyday tablet.
Yeh. The screens settings need to be setup properly for your specific car. Most people think you physically install and it’s done but that’s not how it works.
Hey Flexx! Love the mod, just got a 2017 C300 4MATIC with the NTG5.0 and Audio 20 package. I do not even have navigation on the car, and I highly value CarPlay. Just wanted to ask: as you've used the new head unit over time, has there been much latency? I noticed it took toward the longer side showing the backup camera in reverse. I also want to know if a.) after you go into reverse, does head unit bring you back to NTG or does it go back to CarPlay? (Assuming you were in CarPlay before R-gear) and b.) if I can change the digital speedometer to something else. I don't like giving my passengers a window into the absurdity of my er-- less orthodox driving habits. Thanks!
1) it goes back to whatever screen you were last on. And it actually isn’t that slow. It’s pretty quick. 2) the only thing you can do is go into the secret menu and stretch the interface to cover the entire screen if you want to get rid of the speed gauge on the side. But then your interface is slightly stretched versus being true to the resolution dimensions. Feel free to ask DMP directly. There’s always updates and new screens available. They can answer any questions you have probably way better then I can.
I have just installed this screen from DMP and I wired the speaker as you did but now all call audio runs through the little speaker and call audio is terrible. ... But if I disconnect the speaker and connect the speaker in and out cables on the wiring harness back as they were from the box, then there is no audio from phone calls?? ... So do I just either get terrible phone call audio or none and have to use the car bluetooth? Seems silly that one of the major uses of a car screen doesn't work properly.
I think the issue is, in fact, with BT connection. You have to connect with "MB Bluetooth" to be able to use OEM loudspeakers and microphone. On the other hand, you have to also connect to "FSC-Carkit" if you want to be able to operate your smartphone via carkit interface. The issue is, "FSC-Carkit" gets prioritized over "MB Bluetooth" so the calls are by default directed to the mini speaker, which gives you terrible audio quality. While making/receiving a call, you can switch the BT connection to "MB Bluetooth" on your phone, and you should be able to use OEM equipment for the calls AND use carkit's screen to operate the phone. The trouble is, I have no clue how to make the change permanently. You can also choose not to connect to "FSC-Carkit" at all, but only to "MB Bluetooth", which should work for OEM loudspeakers, but then you won't be able to operate your smartphone from the carkit's menu - it will say the phone is disconnected. At least that's what I have. And yes, that's a major inconvenience.
@@MrPrzemekPilot YES! This is the exact issue I also have. This really needs to be addressed in the software. Not to route call audio through the mini speaker but instead though the android media channel and use the car speakers?!
@@MrPrzemekPilot I use "Macdroid" and set an automation that everytime a call is active it will auto switch from the FSC-Carkit to the Merc BT. This fixes the issues with not being able to use the screen properly for calls.
Hi, were you able to solve those problems? I am thinking about buying one for myself. How does it feel like after using it a period of time? is it as smooth as the OEM system?
Is the first cable connected to the new one for audio ? I’ve installed it on my cla but I don’t remember unplugging that cable and putting on the new one the screen works fine but my car has no bass and I already tried adjusting the sound of it but no bass please help
Im trying to decide between this or the module for android auto. Any advice? My main concern is everything working seemlessly And the only 2 apps ill be using are waze and youtube music
I love the Chanel flex and all the mods you do, it’s a great help also can I ask Do you have to have the speedometer showing in the split screen or can you have something else displaying also when revising does the camera populate the entire screen as I have a 360* camera and I want the whole view displayed on screen
mine shows the whole screen when I reverse. There's a secret menu in the android interface to make these changes. You will need to contact whoever who sold you the screen to get the passcode and ask where the menu is located. It's different for every screen and reseller of screens. If you bought from DMP, just message them and they'll help you setup the screen.
Thanks mate I appreciate you taking the time to reply and yes I’ll definitely go through DMP as I have before as you and I seem to buy the same cars, so thanks again for all that you do cheers from Australia mate
The stock ambient system is controlled using a setting on the oem interface. The new screen has access to both the old oem interface and the new android interface.
Hi, for those who bought this, How does it feel like after using it a period of time? is it as smooth as the OEM system? I am seeing some problems such as the audio will play through the small speaker, were you guys able to solve those problems? I am thinking about buying one for myself. overall speaking, does it worth the price? how does it compare to the new MBUX system?
There’s different versions of this screen in the market. And a lot of people are buying from different resellers. Just note that the feedback in the comment section do not apply to all screens…only to the screen related to where the person bought it and which version. There’s crappy ones, good ones, old ones, new ones…and there’s alot of people who don’t know how to setup the screen properly and automatically assume something is wrong with the product but it’s user error. My new screen in this video works flawlessly and is super fast and was purchased from DMP car design and they were able to assist me in setting it up properly. Also comes with a warranty. Most resellers don’t offer that support and just wish you goodluck on your install. So yeah, don’t take all feedback and assume it’s the same for all screens cause all the screens aren’t the same (just because they look the same).
@@TheFlexxGarage Thanks for sharing it! I was just curious about the audio problem that a lot of people were talking about. So you never had that problem? the audio coming out from the small speaker?
Just saying, if you had saved all the money you put into these cars, you could have had one regular all these years so you could just lease or even finance, say, a 2020 c class, and it would come with all the things you did to them in the past, not criticizing here, just saying that saving is worth it in the long term. The R8 is a very good investment i think, for example. Keep up the work ethic my guy and great tutorial👏🏼👏🏼
I appreciate your comment but it’s the same comment from most of my viewers which is completely wrong because of your perspective. As a viewer, you buy cars for personal leisure. Your goal is not to make videos or help an audience. Your goal is mostly to buy the best car you can buy for yourself. So that might mean fully loaded so you don’t need to mod it. But then, you deal with massive depreciation when you sell it. You will lose money on your cars. Me, I’m not a viewer. I’m a UA-camr. Cars are an asset to me and I don’t buy cars for my very own enjoyment. The cars that I heavily mod on UA-cam are not my personal ideal car for myself. It’s a business car. I buy base models cars that’s have gone through depreciation and since it’s a base, I get to do every mod possible on it. Mod videos that make me money for every mod I do. Mods that allow me to keep making content and growing my UA-cam channel and allows me to help the people who wants to customize their base model cars. I can’t do any of that with a fully loaded new car. It’s just like UA-camrs who buy accident cars for cheap and spend a lot of time and thousands of dollars fixing it back to stock. From a viewer, it looks dumb cause they could of put all that money into buy a fully new car instead of fixing a totaled one. But fixing that totaled car and making tons of videos is what’s makes a crapload of money and it entertains people and grows their UA-cam. They’re not gonna get that by just buying a car that’s ready to drive with no repairs needed. If I dropped a lot of money and bought a fully loaded late model c63…that might make me happy, but it does zero for my UA-cam audience because showing you guys “look what I bought”…versus “here’s 50 mods you can do to this car” are completely different things. The R8 is different. It’s not really a UA-cam car. It’s one of my personal car. I barely make content on it because there’s not really an audience for it. I do some content knowing I won’t make any money on the videos. I do the content just cause like making videos. And it’s a way better option than buying a fully loaded Mercedes cause my R8 doesn’t depreciate. It actually went up in value. So yeah, it’s perspective and that’s why I don’t buy fully loaded cars for my UA-cam channel. I might actually make a video on this topic explaining this cause a lot of viewers always say the same thing as you and it makes me look dumb but in reality, I’m far from being dumb in my decisions. Hopefully it can inspire people to wanna convert their car into an asset instead of a liability.
You need to fix the setting. You can’t just install the screen and expect everything to work. These screens are designed to be setup to match the cars features. So you need to go into the settings and turn on/off specific settings to match your car and your cars features. The yellow cable is for an aftermarket add-on camera. I have an OEM cameras, that’s why I didn’t use the yellow cable.
Hey Flexx. I loved this video. Thank you. Got mine installed. Everything worked great until the aux to usb audio box that plugs in to the armrest started acting up. Sometimes it connects sometimes it does not. I’ve seen the blue light on and off. Do you think DMP can provide a replacement ? Have you heard such a thing?
I was waiting for someone to notice that. Lol. It’s just a red carbon fiber stick on cover. Looks pretty good. I plan on doing some red accents inside along with red seatbelts.
Hi flexx I have installed my system thanx to your video but when the car starts the whole system goes off when I turn the ignition off it comes on again any ideas thank you
I installed this screen, everything works fine except I can't hear any one when they call me. They can hear me but I can't hear the caller through my speakers. Is there a setting? or something wrong with the screen? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
I have installed the screen but whenever I get a call, the caller gets to hear double voice, i mean he can hear himself and then my reply. Any idea why?
This might be hypothetical. But i assume that it's because of the new microphone. It might be picking up whats coming from the speakers. Maybe don't use the new microphone.
ive done that with my 2014 GLK X204 and i hide the wifi behind the android screen and GPS i bough a splitter and conected them with the oem GPS and works perfect 10 times better with that black box
Hi Flex, Hope you are well. Just a quick question. I installed this screen on my W204 but forgot to install the additional microphone. Would i need to open the entire radio unit or can i just remove the screen bracket on top and pluf the cable in ? I got this done as a garage using your video. Thanks for your support :)
You plugged the audio-out-USB into the USB-port in the armrest. While the USB-port in the armrest is only a power supply. What's this has to do with the function of the audio-out? Thanks.
The USB port on my car is not power only. It’s an Audio in. (Like an Aux). If you don’t use it, then you get no sound from the screen into the cars audio system.
@@TheFlexxGarage how does carplay sound work? on my current screen mod I have to switch to AUX to have driving instructions which is annoying, with this can I have Spotify playing over BT to OEM radio AND driving instructions through the provided speaker from the wireless carplay? Can i also screen cast from my phone AND have the audio playing over BT (like say on YT app)? This feature alone would make me wanna upgrade from my current setup..
So in the video at the end you say there are two white wires that you connect to the screen when at the beginning you can see that wire is blue. That blue one doesn’t fit into the white connection on the back of the screen
I clearly said the 2 white connectors plug into the back of the new screen. Go Watch the 2:49 mark again And I said the blue connector plugs to a connector that’s already on the car (it plugs into the original connector pulled off the oem screen). I never said the blue plugs into the back of the new screen. And go watch the 10:30 mark again.
Hey Flexx - I bought the backup camera to install on my W205, does this screen support that installation? I saw the yellow connectors at 2:53 but wasn't able to see if one of them was labeled for the backup camera to connect into. Thanks!
This screen does. It can support back up and 360 cam. You would need to talk with DMP about how to install and configure it, since I’ve never done it cause my car already had an oem backup cam. But it’s doable.
Hey man. Thank you for the video. I have a question about the buttons on the steering wheel, do the work with this display? For example, can I accept a call on my phone using those buttons?
With the aftermarket screen, do you get the 360 camera that comes with the original system? I have a 2014 E 400 coupe. Crazy about the car, just not the infotainment system. Someone told me that with the aftermarket infotainment systems, you lose the cameras functionality that comes with the car.
Yo flex... I got the 2020 w205 c63s sedan. I love the system just want to keep my videos playing as I drive... I know it's for safety reasons ( 😇) but I want the videos to continue playing whilst I drive... Please advise!
I found no 2 radio satellite connection at the back of radio after pulling it out. How I am going to do. Can I just ignore those 2 red satellite connections and skip that step
Question about the Android screen Everything was great until I took my car in for service and now the buttons surrounding the selector wheel (driving mode switch, exhaust mode, damping mode) don’t work while the aftermarket menu is displayed. They do work while on the original menu, so when I enter the original OEM menu I can change my driving mode . The middle zone (selector wheel, pad and buttons on the pad) do work on all menus How do I make the other buttons work at all times again?
Hi, were you able to solve those problems? I am thinking about buying one for myself. How does it feel like after using it a period of time? is it as smooth as the OEM system?
Just opened the center speaker cover in my second hand C350e.. And realized there is no speaker inside. Is it normal for that model to have an empty speaker soket? Also.. There is no satelite radio cable where it should be..
Any issues going from Park to Drive and the front camera switching on? Also, do the touchpad functions all work? I have a unit installed and have both of those issues so I’m considering upgrading to this one in my GLC 43 AMG.
Do the steering wheel controls still work? For answering the phone/ volume etc? Am i correct in thinking they didn't before when you fitted something to a w205?
Again awesome video Flexx. Can I install this 12.3 Android touch screen without using the speaker and mic it brings? Use only the vehicle's speaker and mic like I did with the 10.5 version 11 Android Screen? Thanks
The android interface on the screen uses the aftermarket gps receiver in order to use gooogle maps or another map app. The oem interface on the screen uses the oem gps receiver built into the car in order to use the OEM navigation.
The extra mic is just for extra voice pickup. It’s not required. The stock mic will still work. The oem gps can still be used but only in the OEM intereface on the new screen. It won’t work in the Android interface.
Hey Flex, I got the 10.25 android screen and I have the same kit as you. Do you ever experience any audio delay? I’ve done some research and they said that switching the usb audio box to a DSP box fixed the issue. Do you have any experience with this?
Love what your doing bro 2 questions so I have a 2018 c300 base model sedan will this android screen also work wIth i phone? Also can i put the ambient lighting kit on my 2018 c300 base model? Thanks flex
Hello Flexx, congratulations for all your interesting videos!!! I would like to know if the android screen could work on a C Class Coupe 180 of 2017, that has the basic screen and the garmin navigation system. Ps do you recommend the new screen, after some months that you have used it? Thank you very much!!
Don’t know. We don’t have c180 model in the US so I’m not familiar with it. You can reach out to DMP Car Design directly. They can definitely help you 100%. And I haven’t had this for months. I had it for years and I still love it. Zero issues with my screen.
Hi Flex, thanks for making these videos and having that 5% off code. I recently got in my android screen and I wanted to know if I had to use the microphone and the speaker they sent with my screen in order to use voice control? I notice in one of your older videos the screen didn’t come with the extra mic and speaker. It’s my first time installing a screen and I want to keep my install looking as clean as possible
The speaker and the mic is not a must. It definitely helps but the screen will still work for calls and turn by turn direction without them. If you want to triple check, just contact DMP and raise the question. They can confirm.
Hi Flexx. Great video and install. Can you please tell me if it’s possible to run the NTG menu full screen without having the split screen with speedo on the side? Thanks!
You can but it’s in a hidden menu. The screen view is gonna look stretch though cause the oem NTG aspect is not designed for a wide screen. If you wanna do it, you need to contact whoever sold you your screen on a walk-thru along with the password to your screen to enter the hidden menu.
Hi, does the Bluetooth screen stays on top while on a phone call? I find it completely locks out every other screen while on a call do it means you cannot view Gps, maps or anything at all while on a phone call
Hey mate great video! I also want to get the new 2020 steering wheel, which maps the old steering wheel buttons across. Any idea if it would cause issues with also having an after market infotainment screen like this installed?
@@TheFlexxGarage thanks so much! I'm new to your page and just watched the video of you installing the 2022 steering wheel! I have been looking at the FL steering wheel and every shop I talk to tells me it comes with a little mod mapping box that is required to map the buttons from the old wheel but in your video you don't have that! I might ask that company you bought the wheel from!
Thanks for the very detailed video, you’ve got a like. When plugging in the small speaker, are you loosing anything? Like yours, my harness is together already, and I only plan on using CarPlay navigation. The small speaker is only used if I’m using the built in android Navigation right? Thanks.
the whole point of the screen is to upgrade your OEM screen. It still plays all audio through your car speaker system. They wouldn't sell a system like this just for it to only play through a tiny speaker. The tiny speaker only has to do with GPS directions from the android screen in certain situations.
Is this screen compatible with the GLC300 2018 using Head-Unit Include CarPlay? Can I use this screen to display a simplay carplay function? At that time, I need to install GPS antenna, wifi antenna?
Hey Flexx, been trying to reach out with some questions. I did the install on my new Android 12.3 Touch Screen on 2016 E400 with NTG 5.1s. Thank to your video. However, noticed there was a Aux Audio out and Aux Audio in type male and female connectors main harness. Wasn't sure so I simply connected these two aux type connectors together, and didn't use the USB audio box. Everything else was straight forward and seems to work beautifully. However, when trying to listen music from the Android side there is no sound. OEM side works just fine. Could it be that USB audio box that I ignored? Please reach out let me know. Thanks
I want to get this for my 2018 c300 coupe but i'm nervous because some people are complaining of no sound, will it work if I already have the burmester upgraded sound system and if so will i be able to listen to my music using the burmester system with my audio settings?
great video! just ordered one because of how detailed you were and how easy it looks to install. thank you! I am in New York so we get 4G on Verizon, is it as simple as just getting a 4g SIM card from them with a data plan and popping it in?
No. You’re the only one cause it’s the same and only 2016 C300 I’ve had on my channel and It’s the only one car I drive everyday. If you follow every mod in order, you would too notice it’s the same car.

I installed the 12" on my 2019 GLC 300. Here are the pros of cons:
Pros:
- Large screen display transforms the interior of the car to look modern.
- Audio works on music app, video app, android auto, UA-cam etc. from the screen without installing the extra mic and speaker that came in the box (but audio has 3 sec delay). Voice command from screen maps app also works including navigation directions.
Cons:
- The phone audio does not work.
Thankyou so much flex , I've just fitted the large screen to my c class in the UK and your video was invaluable..keep up the good work
Great to hear!
Nice write up! Appreciate you sharing your experience with the community!!! 😎🤙🏼
Thank you!
I ordered mine and it arrived last weeks, having it installed by a pro in a couple of days!
Nice video. Just installed the exact same size on my W205. My friends said it's too large in proportion. But my principal is, Go Big or Go Home. Or Stay Calm and follow whatever mods Flexx is on and you won't go wrong. Lol.
Bro. It’s the perfect size. 😎🤙🏼
every merc guys needs a friend like you. :)
I need friends. Cars are currently my friends
That sounds complicated . Sheesh. Now you got me doubting my abilities. 😁
Hi,
were you able to solve those problems? I am thinking about buying one for myself. How does it feel like after using it a period of time? is it as smooth as the OEM system?
@@JC-dm6sk No, I wasn't. Got couple of system upgrades from the dealer, problem remains unresolved. Generally speaking, system integration with Android smartphone is very poorly implemented - in fact so poorly, it's best to assume it's just not working.
Very good detailed video and this will indeed fit the GLC too as I have a very similar one in my car, but this unit has clearer images on the NTG and reverse camera functions.
Great work 👍
Yup. For sure. My wife uses the NTG interface more than I do and she wants it to look “normal” and this screen definitely does it.
Really well done video Flexx. As expected the product is really nice.
I'm french and I would like to say you, thanks you for yours good videos.
Im dutch and i would like to say okay
Hahahahahhahaha. Oké
I just purchased one, I was so tired of the old OEM screen, that was very limited for Android devices, can't wait to install it.
What an awesome video with the thorough installation info! Thanks!
Thank you.
i have the same car what did you end up doing?
Professional as always.. looks awesome 😎
Just ordered! Thanks for the code coupon! Can’t wait to get this thing in!
Hi. I’ve fixed it in my W205 C200. But when we tried the function, the usb is not connected and the volume cannot be adjusted. We checked the installation, nothing went wrong. And also, for the CarPlay, it cannot access the UA-cam as well.
What size torx screwdriver did you use?
Installed mine a few weeks ago, I wound up not using the new micro & speaker just bc I didn't want to tbh & works fine. Also, if you don't have Hotspot then you should look into getting a SIM just so the display can run YT/Netflix, Android auto works fine without but for the full features
how do you deal with the mic? do you need to configure anything to use the built-in mercedes microphone?
Interesting. I skipped the microphone install too and it sounds like I’m talking down a hallway. I’m going back to install the microphone hoping it fixes that
@@beaucephus526 did it fix it?
Why do you place the aux usb on the cars usb port in the center console? What is the usb for? If its for audio/aux input the car doesn’t have that on those ports?
Hi Flexx,
greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 Stuttgart. I subscribed like 1 or 2 Years ago thank you for your Video’s and stay healthy.
👍🏾🤞🏾
Best wishes.
Great session Alex! Since the android unit intercepts the 360 cams to record (e.g. parking sentry mode-ish)? Thx for ur thoughts chief.
im installing one. and the audio and oem 360 camera doesnt work
Absolute Quality.
Does it actually worked for long term or became slower to response as happens to android screen/tablets?
Yes it works long term. And no, it’s not like a normal tablet where you spend hours a day on, downloading apps, downloading stuff, storing pics/files/videos constantly. That’s what leads to performance degradation. On a cars android screen, people don’t treat it like an everyday tablet.
Great install video .. everything went smooth .. I did however have to go in the camera setting and switch it to OEM but quick fix
Yeh. The screens settings need to be setup properly for your specific car. Most people think you physically install and it’s done but that’s not how it works.
Alex ....simply the best !!!!
Help pleaee ,I'm connected. Radio saund working, but since I'm turn UA-cam and Spotify doesn't work saund from dashboard. Thanks
They can answer any questions you have probably way better then I can.
where can i find the updates?
I have just installed this screen from DMP and I wired the speaker as you did but now all call audio runs through the little speaker and call audio is terrible.
...
But if I disconnect the speaker and connect the speaker in and out cables on the wiring harness back as they were from the box, then there is no audio from phone calls??
...
So do I just either get terrible phone call audio or none and have to use the car bluetooth? Seems silly that one of the major uses of a car screen doesn't work properly.
Not sure my man. I don’t have that issue. I recommend contact DMP and asking them.
Hi,
were you able to solve those problems? I am thinking about buying one for myself. How does it feel like after using it a period of time? is it as smooth as the OEM system?
It’s so cool that you get to do this 🤩🤩
Is the first cable connected to the new one for audio ? I’ve installed it on my cla but I don’t remember unplugging that cable and putting on the new one the screen works fine but my car has no bass and I already tried adjusting the sound of it but no bass please help
Im trying to decide between this or the module for android auto. Any advice? My main concern is everything working seemlessly
And the only 2 apps ill be using are waze and youtube music
I can’t get the audio to run of off just the unit itself like the screen doesn’t play any sound only my phone wjen it’s connected Bluetooth h
Can you control the ambient light as well via this new screen?
The stock ambient system is controlled using a setting on the oem interface. The new screen has access to both the old oem interface and the new android interface.
Hi,
for those who bought this,
How does it feel like after using it a period of time? is it as smooth as the OEM system?
I am seeing some problems such as the audio will play through the small speaker,
were you guys able to solve those problems?
Dude you don’t get it. The guy is a UA-camr. He buys cars to make videos not for his use. It’s business.
My reverse don't work, do you know why this have a yellow cable says reverse camera
I see you added a red start button nice 🔥🔥🔥
I was waiting for someone to notice that. Lol. It’s just a red carbon fiber stick on cover. Looks pretty good. I plan on doing some red accents inside along with red seatbelts.

Hi flexx I have installed my system thanx to your video but when the car starts the whole system goes off when I turn the ignition off it comes on again any ideas thank you
Nice video, really like what your showing, very clear and calm voice. What was this carkitt priced for?
It’s linked in the video description. You need to select the screen size and version for your car and it will show you the final price.
I installed this screen, everything works fine except I can't hear any one when they call me. They can hear me but I can't hear the caller through my speakers. Is there a setting? or something wrong with the screen? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Great demo for a smooth installation Tkx
Yeah buddy! I just ordered it.
Won’t regret it. I freakin love it!
Good job for à good screen.
Thx for the vidéo from morroco.
When I use the EQ app that the screen comes with. It does not make any changes. Do I have to switch a setting to your the built in EQ app
Hey man It look dope but does it work or can you manage your ambient lightning with this screen?
I'd like to know this too.
I have installed the screen but whenever I get a call, the caller gets to hear double voice, i mean he can hear himself and then my reply. Any idea why?
This might be hypothetical. But i assume that it's because of the new microphone. It might be picking up whats coming from the speakers. Maybe don't use the new microphone.
ive done that with my 2014 GLK X204 and i hide the wifi behind the android screen and GPS i bough a splitter and conected them with the oem GPS and works perfect 10 times better with that black box
really cool. does it suppprt HUD? or is it possible to use old navigation (garmin) for HUD?
Hi Flex, Hope you are well. Just a quick question. I installed this screen on my W204 but forgot to install the additional microphone. Would i need to open the entire radio unit or can i just remove the screen bracket on top and pluf the cable in ? I got this done as a garage using your video. Thanks for your support :)
Je vous suis depuis la France 🇫🇷 , Merci pour cette vidéo . Thanks you so much
You plugged the audio-out-USB into the USB-port in the armrest.
Go Watch the 2:49 mark again
And I said the blue connector plugs to a connector that’s already on the car (it plugs into the original connector pulled off the oem screen). I never said the blue plugs into the back of the new screen. And go watch the 10:30 mark again.
Thanks, that helped and yeah the smaller white connector had gotten lost in the back when I had pulled the cords through
is the speaker and microphone needed? I've watched some videos and they don't install/mention them
No
Hey Flexx - I bought the backup camera to install on my W205, does this screen support that installation? I saw the yellow connectors at 2:53 but wasn't able to see if one of them was labeled for the backup camera to connect into. Thanks!
This screen does. It can support back up and 360 cam. You would need to talk with DMP about how to install and configure it, since I’ve never done it cause my car already had an oem backup cam. But it’s doable.
I also bought the cameras and new display. Were you able to connect the cameras to the new monitor?
I’m about to install tomorrow .
Hey man. Thank you for the video. I have a question about the buttons on the steering wheel, do the work with this display? For example, can I accept a call on my phone using those buttons?

You don’t get a camera with the screen. I already showed in the video that the screen supports the oem camera or any aftermarket installed camera.

Question about the Android screen
Everything was great until I took my car in for service and now the buttons surrounding the selector wheel (driving mode switch, exhaust mode, damping mode) don’t work while the aftermarket menu is displayed. They do work while on the original menu, so when I enter the original OEM menu I can change my driving mode .
The middle zone (selector wheel, pad and buttons on the pad) do work on all menus
How do I make the other buttons work at all times again?
Hi,
were you able to solve those problems? I am thinking about buying one for myself. How does it feel like after using it a period of time? is it as smooth as the OEM system?
Just opened the center speaker cover in my second hand C350e.. And realized there is no speaker inside. Is it normal for that model to have an empty speaker soket?
Also.. There is no satelite radio cable where it should be..
Any issues going from Park to Drive and the front camera switching on? Also, do the touchpad functions all work?
I have a unit installed and have both of those issues so I’m considering upgrading to this one in my GLC 43 AMG.
Sounds like you didn’t configure your screens setting right. Mine works fine.
It's so hard to see the screws in the slot to attach the display! Spent more than 30 min just to screw back the display. Any tips?
It was tough for me too. Don’t really have any tips.
Thanks
Well Done Flexx I have the same question do we have use the speaker aned Mic?
Can u add a camera with this update.. Even if u didn't had one? Thanks.
Yes
Hi, nice video. One question : how do you get the split view when putting Reward mode (R). My view get is wide and it's very ugly.
Great video, have you noticed the audio lag when connecting wireless carplay?
No
Do you have to instal the gps receiver, car already has it via the old oem. ? Does it not transfer when installing the screen?
The android interface on the screen uses the aftermarket gps receiver in order to use gooogle maps or another map app.
The oem interface on the screen uses the oem gps receiver built into the car in order to use the OEM navigation.
With the GPS and Mic do you have to set them up?? Or can I just use the OEM GPS and Mic with new screen??
The extra mic is just for extra voice pickup. It’s not required. The stock mic will still work.
The oem gps can still be used but only in the OEM intereface on the new screen. It won’t work in the Android interface.
Can I put the speaker + GPS and WIFI receivers in the same location. Is the plastic orange tool part of the package
Hey Flex, I got the 10.25 android screen and I have the same kit as you. Do you ever experience any audio delay? I’ve done some research and they said that switching the usb audio box to a DSP box fixed the issue. Do you have any experience with this?

I have both and I have zero issues.
Thanks.
The speaker is optional
Appreciate the fast reply. So if I install the speaker, but use CarPlay, the sound will still come through cars own speakers using the USB to Aux?
the whole point of the screen is to upgrade your OEM screen.
Thanks
Yes. Need to plug aux into usb Audio box. Then audio box into usb slot.
Hi Flex thanks for your screen upgrade just 1 question does the speaker and mic replace the original car sound system. Regards John
No. The mic is supplemental to the oem mic. And the small speaker is for gps guide as a backup.
@@TheFlexxGarage Thank you very much I really enjoy your vids great job
I want to get this for my 2018 c300 coupe but i'm nervous because some people are complaining of no sound, will it work if I already have the burmester upgraded sound system and if so will i be able to listen to my music using the burmester system with my audio settings?
It’s interesting for me if the head up display will work after that?
Hey flex if you use your phone navigation via apple carplay do you have to install the gps antenna or the microphone or speaker
great video! just ordered one because of how detailed you were and how easy it looks to install. thank you! I am in New York so we get 4G on Verizon, is it as simple as just getting a 4g SIM card from them with a data plan and popping it in?
Am I the only one that noticed that they’re 2 different cars ?
No. You’re the only one cause it’s the same and only 2016 C300 I’ve had on my channel and It’s the only one car I drive everyday. If you follow every mod in order, you would too notice it’s the same car.
