Man out of all the Mercedes modding channels yours is the most thorough in describing exactly what to do (and in English)! I love it and thank you for the instructions!
WOW wouldn’t think i t would look so good. What a difference! Stoked i watched the video and ran into your channel. Gonna do a few of these mods on my w205. Thanks!!
@@yiannig7347 Don’t think it does because all it’s doing is replacing the existing buttons/things those buttons do, hope he responds though and says differently”, I do wonder if it has haptic feedback though
No handwriting feature cause my car never had it to begin with. Also no haptic feedback or drawing. Cause again, my car never came with that. Like someone said above…it’s just a direct replacement that looks sleek and to get rid of the scroll wheel. This is an aftermarket part. It’s not a Mercedes part. If you want all those extra features…you’ll need to retrofit a genuine Mercedes control unit (that has all those features) and find a specialist to code it to work with your car. No way you’ll be able to get that done at a low cost.
thanks for your video, it would be interesting to see how it reacts to the android interface. how satisfied are you with the steering wheel? is it an original one?
It is, but it costs a lot of money, you can’t install the digital dash cluster without the new MBUX head unit, if you’re in the uk the prices start from £3000 for a complete retrofit upgrade. You can get an aftermarket android digital cluster, but the quality isn’t great, and imo makes the car look cheap.
Yea. But nobody makes a good plug and play one yet. I’ve already tested 2 different versions over a year time frame and both still are missing features from the oem gauge cluster and they are a lot of mistakes in spelling. I’m testing a new and improve 3rd version real soon.
@@TheFlexxGarage I appreciate the replies everyone, just 1 more question do these mods that you install only work for the sedan c classes or are they possible on the c class coupes too?
Hi Flexx, Can you tell us how it works in Carplay or Android Auto in your Android Screen?. In the video you only shows in the OEM menu but I would like to know if it works in Android Auto or Carplay. Thanks a lot!!
not sure what you are asking? It works right off the bat like the OEM one. Every step of installing and making it work is in the video. It’s plug and play on my car.
Hey Flex, Does this new touchpad have the haptic feedback/vibration every time you swipe or click on it like the W213 facelifted ones have with the MBUX system or does it work more like the OEM touchpad+scroll knob configuration that the Pre-facelifted 2014-2018 W205 ones have? I'm interested to fit this on my S205 however if the touchpad feels just like the OEM, I'd personally prefer the Scroll knob just so that I can scroll with the "feel" of my fingers than swipe.
As shown in the video, this is only touch. It’s just an aftermarket version for looks and for all touch. As I mentioned in my response in another comment, if you want all the features like a brand new car’s control…you need to find an OEM command touchpad control, retrofit it to your car, and have it coded by a specialist so it can work on your car. Won’t be easy or cheap to do.
On the fence about getting this mod @BostonMechanics thru DMP. Not sure if swiping will be more distracting from the road compared to command rotary knob.
It took some time getting use to it for me but everyone is different, I guess. In my opinion, after getting use to it, it’s the same amount as effort as the oem scroll wheel. The major difference for me now is that this touchpad looks so good in the car and it’s profile is so low. But again, that’s just my experience. Some people might like the looks but hate or can’t adjust to the swipe controls. 🤷🏻♂️
Friend, first of all, please understand that I am speaking through a translator. I have amg gt43 4door X290 (19my) dial type I replaced Jack by Jack with a 20my touch type. However, I am contacting you this way because only the home button and back button are recognized, but touch is not recognized. Scrolling does not work. Is there any need for command coding? I'm very curious... I'm enjoying watching your videos from far away in another country. thank you
How do you change track on Spotify on your Android screen with the new touchpad? I have the Android screen and with the old touchpad I click "downwards" to change track. Wouldn't want to lose that function
Not really. The only issue i have is that I keep reaching for the scroll wheel when it no longer exist. Lol. I’m still getting use to the touch pad being there. Haven’t driven my car enough since I’ve been traveling too much for work.
Probably need to check the connections to make sure they are nice and tight. I would say reinstall the connections again. If that doesn’t solve the issue, redo the battery. If that doesn’t work, check with DMP for tech support. Maybe it’s a defective unit?
I’m a UA-camr. I make videos. I’m not a mechanic and I don’t work on peoples’ cars. Sorry. The shop “Boston Mechanics LLC” in Massachusetts does a good job with these types of installs but I don’t know where you’re from and how close Mass is to you.
I installed this. Can you help? Lost the ability to adjust 2 items. I have a 2019 GLC 300 with Burmester sound system, running on a NTG 5.0 head unit. 1. Unable to switch between the 3 equalizer knobs, Treble (left) Mid Range (center), and Bass (right knob) When you swipe down from “Equalizer” to the 3 knobs, it lands in the middle which is the Mid Range knob. If you then swipe left and right, it adjust the knob itself. Unable to move left and right to the Treble and Bass knobs. When in Balance and Fader mode. It only adjust fader when you swipe up and down. When you swipe left and right, Balance does not move left and right.
I don’t know. I don’t have that issue. You need to contact DMP (if you bought from them). If you didn’t buy from them, then you need to contact whoever sold it to you for tech support.
I had this same issue of not being able to adjust all the ambient light settings, after installing this kit today - But I then realised a workaround! You can use the trackpad to navigate to the menu you want, but then switch to the steering wheel buttons, using the sensor that controls the screen to adjust to the desired settings you want. I hope this helps.

aside from the gauge cluster, car looks almost identical to my '21 E450, wild the mods you can do here
Looks really nice.
Thanks for your great work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome video. Thanks for the discount code, just ordered the touchpad for my 2021 E450 Cabriolet.
Looks good!🤙
Thanks 👍
I wonder if it has that handwriting feature. Not like anyone actually uses that, but still, would be cool to know, lol.
Not sure. Gonna give it a try.

how well does your display screen works? any qwerks/bugs independent of your new touchpad?
been working fine since the day I installed it years ago.
awesome. it looks very easy. thank you.
Is it possible to install a digital cluster to that car if so pls make a video thanks
Hes already mentioned before you can do it but its quite expensive

Sedan and coupe shares a lot of the same parts (not all but some). You’re best bet is to reach out to DMP. They can tell you facts.
Way to go! ‼️
Awesome mod Flexx, I wish this was available for the w222
Yeah. I’m not sure. You’d have to ask DMP.
Damn, Looks like an S class.
someone commented that it works with the OEM...did the functionality work on the android?
What is the backlight colour of the trackpad buttons? White or yellow?
Man I wish they had that for my 2010 S600
Is the whole steering wheel compatible with 2018 Cla250?
Don’t know. You need to ask DMP.

not sure what you are asking? It works right off the bat like the OEM one. Every step of installing and making it work is in the video. It’s plug and play on my car.
Looks great! What is the part number?
Don’t know. Look at the link in the description.
Could I get the part #s or list for the screen and light kit for the speakers and trim?
Each part is in their own install video on my Mercedes W205 Video playlist on my UA-cam channel.

I don’t really know.
1) check your wires and connectors again.

Hello Flexx. Which original part did you use, A205 or A253? How does the Android display work? Thanks in advance.
As stated in the video, this is not an original part. It’s aftermarket from DMP Car Design.
Where can i buy this one for germany?
Looks in the video description for the link and see if they will ship to Germany.
