I am 75 years old. I have lived a wonderful life! This kind of music added so much. I am really happy now. I have an opportunity to cry a little each day. This was a really nice opportunity.
Oh my.... the quality of musical energy that flows through and out of Paul Simon is just incredible. He is the best singer-songwriter in human history. I'm pleased to be alive during his life because we will never see another singer-songwriter like Paul ever again. An extremely rare person and this is as good as music gets.
Once upon a time, we were honored and graced with music and musicians like this on a regular basis. And now…there seems to be a constant “hard rain” falling on us culturally, politically, economically and every in every other way.
Well said. The "hard rain" was falling back then too, but our artist singers and songwriters were true and brave troubadours of truth and beauty which helped to ease our pain. Not so today.
Paul is a genius, he picks the most melodious voices at the time to accompany him on one of the most beautiful songs ever written and performed. George Harrison is a legend.
@Greg Normal I don't think i can choose a favourite of Simon.I love so many types of music.who else do you like?hope you get this message.have a good day Greg.
Paul Simon is so good in singing in a way like he's speaking. Every word is carefully articulated and laid down on the rhythm of the guitar. Beautiful!
Hope you are hanging in there. Your post was two years ago. About the time I got my diagnosis. So far so good. We’ll see. Next exam in three weeks. Still listening/watching a lot of music.
I totally relate to what you’re saying. When I was about six or seven I was in the hospital for surgery, a pretty scary time for such a young boy. In my room an older kid had a radio and several times a day “Here Comes the Sun” came on. It’s always been a special song to me and now, fifty years later, I still remember that song as my shining light.
Their vocal blend is extraordinary! Doubly so because they're all around 65. These guys are all just amazing. And of course George's song ain't too shabby either.
Danke Paul.❤❤❤
You’ve probably heard this story - George Harrison stopped over at Eric Clapton’s house when they hadn’t seen each other for a while. Spring was just starting to come around after a long, dark winter in England. George borrowed a guitar, sat down, and wrote this song. Sometimes magic happens.
Yeah - it was in the middle of all the Beatle bitching about breaking up and who was going to manage their finances and Apple Corp losing money etc etc. And George said he sat on the grass and the sun was struggling to come though the forest and then a spear of sunlight suddenly came across him as he sat their playing the guitar. And voila!
@@marygonzales8986 Clapton was obsessed with Patti. But I think Something and Here Comes the Sun were a little bit before the affair. You might be right.
It is Tony Cedras, a very talented musician from South Africa. He was in the Paul Simon's band from 1987 to 2012, playing accordion, keyboards, trumpet, guitar and doing back voices. Alas, Tony died this year.
I remember reading Crosby's "If I could only remember my name" and it being mentioned that CSN got together with Simon and Garfunkel back in the day. Crosby, Stills, Nash, Simon & Garfunkel. Just imagine the harmonies there. Thought of that as I watched this.
An adequate rendering, but done a bit too slowly. Nash and Crosby sound like they each swallowed a handful of goofballs backstage; Simon sounds like he's struggling to stay awake. On the other hand, Richie Havens' version of "Here Comes the Sun" is astonishing - like José Feliciano's version of "Light My Fire." You can never get tired of them.
@@mariellereilly361 thanks for your understanding. George was a wonderful guy with wonderful music and thinking about his wife and Eric Clapton. Just amazing that they still were friends.
You guys really know how to get a crowd going. It's absolutely breathtaking. And those Stephen Stills backup singers--you would have had to of been there. Paul Simon, as usual, just stunning.
Gosh, if there is a reason for getting out of bed ,this is it. The " Master ' Paul with the cream of harmony Crosby and Nash along with Harrison's masterpiece. What more could you ask for !!!!! Life after all is worth living isn't it.
I am from the UK my 10 year old granddaughter told me today that now Spring is here they sing this song every morning at school…how beautiful is that.
My English teacher used to sing us Yesterday. We learned every word, and I hated it. But now I think it was so beautiful. Maybe she was cool afterall

RIP David Crosby and all the songrwiting greats we’ve lost.
I wish more people could carry music like this in their heart than hate.
Agreed, but much has changed in America. Alot of deception going on.
You're so right with that

I love Crosby and Nash’s harmonys they are perfection.
They nailed it!
He couldn't have invited better backing singers.
I was going to say - I didn't know their harmonies were going to be that good.
Thanks David and Graham

Not only that, but he always articulated his words. Some if not many 'singers' today, and I do use the word loosely, hardly enunciate at all.
George and now David are smiling down from above! What gorgeous melody and harmonies! Such a wonderful tune! Bravo!

This Paul Simon kid has some chops. He'll be great some day! and those backup singers aren't too bad either!
