I grew up in a musical home. My dad was a famous composer, arranger and a world-class pianist. He earned a Doctorate in music and performed all over the world. He died 10 years ago, but during his career he worked with a lot of groups including the Beatles. I started studying music when I was just 3 years old and dad taught me theory, orchestration, etc. so by the time I was in high school, I was performing at a high level. I went on to form a record label, music studio complex and a concert touring company. We signed a lot of great artists. However, you guys are the best I have ever seen for a lot of reasons. One, you bring great soul to your music. Two, you are able to cross through many genres and actually improve songs that are considered perfect. Three, your orchestration is just right and really complements your voices. Four, your musicianship is insane and many people may not realize how good you play. Five, you really are naturally talented and don't require thousands of dollars of enhancements from studio computers....like most artists today. Six, the joy on your faces tells me you really love what you do and money isn't your primary motivator. In summary, I wish you had been around 25 years ago when I was running our label. I would have begged you to join us. You are truly amazing and your rendition of this song is nothing short of incredible. Thanks for what you do.
Second this. I've been playing music since I was 5. Multi instrumentalist. Everything you've said is spot on. The musicianship is outstanding. For me, personally, the performance is what tops it off. They are all so in sync with each other, and absolutely glow playing together - that's the special sauce that you won't get anywhere else. Absolutely exceptional.
Same here. We are a musical family also and my brother is an accomplished musician. The rest of us appreciate music and sing along. From the Beatles in the 60s, and .other British invasion groups, girl and motown groups, Broadway and TV musicals plus my mom and I would sing together ❤️
This song ( the original version ) was the final music at my dads funeral over 2 years ago. We wanted something a little cheery to accompany a slideshow of him as we ended the service, and he loved The Beatles. Ironically, I haven’t been able to listen to it until now; it just felt too raw. This performance was just lovely. A real breath of fresh air and it warmed my heart. He played the bass, and he would have loved this. Thank you for sharing, Petersens. ❤️
J B, friend of mine wanted "Hello Goodbye" at his funeral. Haven't seen him in years but he would be in his early seventies. You picked a wonderful song for your father. It's my favorite George Harrison song.
Yes they hit the notes RIGHT ON every time. I never heard them miss. If I I ever catch them slightly off tune or a voice cracking I'll highlight it LOL.
Ok, wow, what an incredible rendering of a Beatles classic. Julieanne's sweet winsome voice is perfect for this song. The girls harmonies are always a delight to hear. The guys and mom are great but the beating heart of this group are the three sisters.
0:581:00 Just blown away by the Petersens ! Heard them on Jan 1st for the 1st time and my life had changed. Wow, just over the top ! My Lord thank you ! The Best is yet to come !
Explain this to me. For 60 years my main music has been classical and opera. Next would come ‘50s & ‘60s pop hits, followed by my parent’s generation: Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, etc. Now tell me, how did I get so addicted to a Bluegrass Band? Really. And the main attraction at Branson at that. I don’t know what’s going on with me but nothing is wrong with the Petersen family and friend. They are perfect, I love listening to them, and I’m going to stop questioning myself. Just sit back and enjoy.
They have tight harmony, play in tune, and have no crazy agendas- other than to share beautiful music. We need this goodness, it lifts us. (No matter our music style preferences.)
Haha so many similarities to my life, laughing but in a good way 😊 I think it's something to do with the musicianship... to play bluegrass you need to be able to play to a decent level but also be hungry to learn more and learn about life as well!!❤️ peace joy love and happiness to you and your family ♥️
I've heard hundreds and hundreds of covers of the song since it was written. I can't speak for anybody but myself, but for me this is the most beautiful cover of the song I've ever heard without a doubt! These kids are beautiful in every way and a true blessing to anyone listening. May you all have long wonderful lives...
Every time I think The Petersen's can't get better and their repertoire can't get wider, I have to go to back to the drawing board as yet another stunning rendition of a song comes out. Thank you!!
Stop everything it's a Petersen video! This is a favorite song of mine sung by a favorite band of mine and it happens to be my birthday. Thank you, Petersens!
As a huge 66 year old Beatles fan it’s rare to hear a cover that does justice to the original but this is as close as it gets. PS I’m also a big Petersen’s fan. Peace and love from the UK.
It's been a while since I took the time to listen to The Petersens. I've lost my eldest daughter to cancer in the last few months and thought my world had ended. But there is still beauty listening to your music.
My favorite singing performance by Julianne yet. Such a unique voice. If I heard her on the radio I would know it was her immediately. I think that’s a special quality that not many singers have.
Why is it that I always like it, when Julianne with her "Irish lilt" in her voice sings a song. Thank you very much to all the Petersens for this nice song version
This is amazing on multiple levels. Beatles + Petersens = Best + Best The Petersens have brought the sun into my life. Sure many would agree. More versality from the guys. Never thought I'd hear a Beatles cover! Took me completely by surprise.
As a diehard Beatles fan who rarely likes to hear their songs covered (two major exceptions being Earth Wind and Fire's "Got To Get You Into My Life" and Joe Cocker's "With A Little Help From My Friends") you guys nailed this one. Great job!
Thanks Liz for your kind information. If they were coming to the liverpool or Manchester that would have been viable for me. I'll have to keep an eye on their website.
This one is delightful. The light whimsical nature of the song makes for a perfect situation for Julianne to sing the lead vocals. What amazes me though is the way Katie and Ellen adjust their voices on the harmonies to blend perfectly with Julianne's light soprano part. Many years of singing in a church choir have taught me that it isn't as easy as they make it sound.
Yes, if you watch the Cranberries Dreams song she does, Katie's harmonizing really enhances Julianne's voice. In that number, Julianne is like the mandolin that she plays providing the accent, while Katie is providing the mood as she does with her fiddle. The technique is especially effective at their outdoor concerts, with the right amount of mixing and amplification: ua-cam.com/video/v2nKjuuMzCg/v-deo.html.
It's one of those things the algorithm on Instagram happened to put in front of me and I'm beyond glad it did. Playing guitar and banjo for years and finally to hear someone else using traditional bluegrass in these classics brings me so much joy. I hope to see yall in concert one day!
Hi Sooch. Have you also noticed how Julianne is improving considerably with the mandolin? Already in the previous video she played some very nice harmonic lines. I am very happy for her! As always I wish you a wonderful weekend !!
@@Roberto-pd8vn Hey Roberto! Yes I agree with you. Her soloing on WAYFARING STRANGER is so special-it's one of the reasons that song just captivates me. She really shines. It seems like yesterday that she was a little kid singing BEAR TRACKS and now she's going to Oxford! No I don't feel old at all. God bless you my friend
I am a Grandpa...grew up with this song. It was always one of my favorites. This is done perfectly...Not a rip off. A few twists and J's voice is wonderful here.
Julianne's voice always excels each song by her absolute heaven-sent voice. Literally adore her voice and that's someone from Liverpool positively commenting on a Beatles cover.
Just for the curious musicians: Katie plays a Sigman LAS five-string violin, Ellen plays a Hopkins DHP banjo, Matt plays a Collings D1ATSB guitar, Julianne plays an Eastman MD915 mandolin, Emmett plays a Scheerhorn dobro, and mom plays an Englehardt EM1 bass.
The Petersen's group is very talented and I can't say that Julienne is the best singer, but without a doubt she has the most unique voice in the group. She has a very soft gentle voice, a distinctive tone with a slight bit of natural vibrato.
Julianne is getting quite good on her mandolin! This song, Wild MountIn Thyme, and Wayfaring Stranger shows she has become very comfortable stepping up to the mic, and the songs are better for it. Great job y'all!
Very moving. I had the pleasure of meeting George on the set of the first Traveling Wilburys video, "Handle with Care." He was strumming this song on his acoustic guitar while sitting around waiting. It was a moment I'll always cherish. Such a kind man he was. Humble, down-to-earth. I'm sure he'd love this bluegrass rendition. Well done and thank you.
Really like how Emmett has taken a softer supporting role these last few songs. It shows that he can complement any style of song. It gives the Petersens so much versatility
My tears are rolling down always when I see Julianne and hear her voice… I’m now 44, but as I was in her age I had an long time girlfriend like an sibling of Julianne. She died in an car accident as she was 16 because of a drunken driver… I’m happily married with an awesome wife and 2 great sons now, but this Angel voice always remembers me to beautiful situations long time ago. Would be great to meet Julianne one time during an concert in Germany, as I volunteering work for the German Red Cross and I support concerts since years all over Germany. Last weekend we had the largest Folk festival in Germany in my hometown… Maybe in some years.
Hard to put into words how beautiful the cover of this song is. One of my most favorite Beatle songs ever written. Thank you for sharing your priceless talents.
The girls are the stars but I saw the two guitarists, Matt and Emmett, cast knowing glances at the end. True, guys, without your parts this song could have never sounded so sweet.
The mom playing the bass in the background is the anchor--both musically and the one that got them to always practice. Shout out to the parents that keep music going!
When the world around me tries to steal my joy, I simply head here to find a ray of sunshine. Julianne has been blessed with such a magical, endearing, heartwarming voice. And then you ladies sing together and my smile overwhelms my face. Then all of you together along with the fountain? Ah yes. Its all right. Everything will be alright...thanks to all of you!!!
What a most Incredibly Talented Family who are Amazing Artists! I so wish you would add Boston to your touring list and I will be there! This version of George Harrison’s song is a Breath of Fresh Air and one of my Favorite songs! Thanks so much for sharing it with All of us!! 🎤🎶📖🎹🎄🌟👏👏🤩🌅👍🌈☮️
I'm a MASSIVE Beatles fan and love George Harrisons music, these guy have nailed a beautiful song....Top Marks you guys......I'd most definitely would buy this version if it comes out on cd
This is the kind of pitch, balance and blend you only get when sisters sing those tight harmonies. Just lovely, so pleasant to listen to. It makes us all smile inside. 😎
Finally had the chance to come out and see your show Tuesday night. I was the guy with his dad in the Time Traveler shirts. We had a great time! I loved how you could feel the bass coming through the seats live. Added a lot to your performance that’s missing on UA-cam. Also loved how y’all finished with Country Roads and Roots, which are two of my favorites of your covers. Hope y’all can continue making great music for us to listen to!
Somehow I had never heard of The Petersens before a week ago. As I went to listen to George's version, Here comes The Petersens ! You are so blessed and bring joy with your music. Somehow my life has changed, Thank you for the love and joy you bring.
Ciao Gianfranco. Buona giornata a te, come sempre.
I saw them in person last week and they were spectacular. I normally don't like people redoing beatle music but you guys were terrific. I have not heard a bad song from this group yet. Thank you

------------
Here comes the sun (doo-doo-doo-doo)
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right
Little darling
It's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling
It feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's alright
Little darling
The smile's returnin' to their faces
Little darling
It seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes [x5]
Little darling
I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling
It seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right
Here comes the sun (doo-doo-doo-doo)
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right

This song means a lot to me because it helped me during hard times. Julianne's voice is perfect for it!
Linda música, linda interpretação e voces todas lindas . Thanks ❤🇧🇷
Bravo!! Outstanding job with beautiful harmonies. Thank you.
Also thought I should note that I don’t scream on rollercoasters because I’m too busy hanging on for dear life… lol
By far my favorite Beatles song and now by far my favorite Beatles tribute/cover. Well Done!!! A++++++!!!
Julianne is a constant ray of sunshine for the world! ☀️
Great job everyone!
Somehow I had never heard of The Petersens before a week ago. As I went to listen to George's version, Here comes The Petersens ! You are so blessed and bring joy with your music. Somehow my life has changed, Thank you for the love and joy you bring.
The Petersens have that effect on people
@@lesbsocal9107, truth, they sure do.
George is smiling right now!!! Beautifully performed!!
The fiddle player's smile is wonderful.
That's the Soerarch there. Proud oldest sister.
I can't believe a Beatles cover! Is not yet Christmas. Thanks a lot FAMILY PETERSEN. Wow. Ciao from 🇮🇹 Gianfranco ♥️.
Ciao Gianfranco. Buona giornata a te, come sempre.
This made my evening. Thanks for sharing. Jan.
I saw them in person last week and they were spectacular. I normally don't like people redoing beatle music but you guys were terrific. I have not heard a bad song from this group yet. Thank you
