Hey how’s it going great video very detailed I have a question I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe with a 4L60 and I was on the website trying to get information from the manufacture but nobody has a respond to me can this work on a regular Chevy Tahoe or Silverado pick up truck??
No the tcm is completely different from the Alison 1000

How would this work with a 04 lb7, with a six speed conversion kit?
Lane Orton I believe that with the sun-coast conversion kit all works the same and to keep it locked into fifth and prevent 6th upshift just have the tow-haul button engaged. And for sixth gear just turnoff tow-haul. But I know that Duramax tuner is just releasing their version of 6th gear conversion now but would imagine they’d be similar to the same unless they allow for different tuning.
Just purchased the tap shifter for my 01 LB7. The info at the end of the video telling us our efi live will do the update is false. Fleece does not have the update for the efi live autocal. You will have to pay your tuner for a tcm tune to get the update. Most charge in the $200 range. So add that to the cost of the shifter before you purchase it.I will be returning mine as its not worth $600 to me.
I have the 03-05 kit. It didnt come with the 12 pin. Is this how the 03-05 kit comes? The website says nothing about it and the pictures are the same between the kits Thanks!
The 03-05 kit does come with the TCM wiring harness.
Thoroughbred Diesel I have the harness but i do not have the 12th pin as shown in the video. Id tbis because i have the 03-05 kit or is my harness messed up
@@jimmyholmes6164 same here I got the 03-05 kit and it also didn't have that 12th pin in the harness so im guessing it doesn't come with it or I could be wrong.
@@thoroughbreddiesel The 03-05 doesn't come with thst single wire with bare pin that needs to be inserted into #12 pin location in the grey connector is what they are saying. I believe the way you worded reply made it confusing. I think you meant 03-05 doesn't have the single wire with bare pin for grey connector and only has the pass through connector and harness for column.
Once this shifter is installed in an O2, will it still work in auto mode or will you have to shift it with the tap shifter???
It will work in the auto mode as normal. Push the tap shift to enter the tap shift mode.

So for 01-02 the tcm flash is just for locking it out? So it’s not a must have to do ecm flash or the truck won’t drive kinda thing?
This provides 100% manual control? Ive got an 02 duramax, all stock other than an exhaust. Pulling a camper this weekend through the hills at 70mph the truck would downshift very prematurely and rev to about 28-3000 and would stay there all the way up the hill, most of the time i had to back out of it to keep it from over heating, however when it would stay in overdrive i could run all day long with out overheating, it was very irritating backing out of pull to about 50mph in order to let it shift again especially knowing the truck had the power to continue pulling without down shifting. I ask if its full manual because in a 2010 duramax you can click through the gears but it still wont up shift or down shift until a certain rpm is met for that gear which really isnt "full manual" control.
You are correct, there are certain RPM’s that the TCM won’t let you downshift or upshift to. You can’t upshift to 5th gear at 15 MPH, but when you are downshifting, you can reach your target gear at a pretty high RPM band so you will want to be careful. IE, if you are pulling in 5 and you click down for 4 and give it one to many taps you will wind up in three and you will have spilled your coffee all over your lap. The truck should be downshifting on the hills depending on weight and speed you are pulling. Pulling the hills in a lower, correct gear usually will mean lower EGT’s and lower trans temps because the trans does not have to work as hard in 4th as it does in 5th. Maybe time for a filter change, internal and external.

Pulling my camper in tow haul mode in hill country it gets early down shifts down hill and wants to hold about 3000 rpm...I don't like it..while I know the downshift are needed..seems very excessive.would this help?
