I know that you 4 are my favorite family to watch

Yes, stay a bit, you make me tired 😅. Love your videos.
Great video. I knew the exact playground I wanted as a child. I grew up watching reruns of "The Adventures of the Swiss Family Robinson". A show about a family shipwrecked on a deserted island. They built the most amazing treehouse home. As a child I didn't just want to play there I wanted to live there. Give it a google. It would fit right in with the natural theme of your farm. Built to be set in nature and part of nature. You could start with a tree house and incorporate other play areas off of there. In the show they had a large ship captains wheel that would raise the stairs but wouldn't it be fun to have a captains wheel for the boys imagination to turn their treehouse that day into a ship on the high seas. I'd have a cargo net climb up one side. Trap doors. Monkey bars. Suspension bridge. Swings. Tire swings. Underneath a sand pit. When they get older, zip lines. For me it would be all about making it look like part of nature. And just off to the side a nice mom/dad area with a comfy swinging bench for you two to sit and watch the adventures.
Oh wow thanks for sharing Karen, we will definitely look it up! Thanks so much for watching friend, we always love hearing from you 😊🙏🏼❤️
I thought the same!!! I love that we feel the same!!!!! ❤️
This is exactly my thoughts. All natural playground. My only auditing would be trails which could eventually be dirtbike trails 🙂
I loved that film too! Maybe start off low as the boys are small and as they grow you add on and higher and higher. Great idea Karen x
This was my first thought as well.
When I was a child I always wanted an interconnected treehouse kingdom with a drawbridge and lookout tower.
Oh that does sound like fun Lou! Thanks so much for watching and for your ideas! 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
I would have loved a hobbit type house covered with grass that you could climb up one side and have a slide down the other growing up. And as a parent a log climbing frame and log balance beam and stepping stones. A homemade mud kitchen Using lots of natural materials so it blends in with your beautiful land and utilises John’s carpentry skills.
A hobbit house sounds amazing Andrea! I am sure the boys would LOVE that. Thanks so much for watching friend 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
@@TheNewbys I second this idea.
I like that!!
Yes! A Hobbit house with a round door! Maybe built up against Robinsons Rock or other the big boulder area. A tree platform above it or near it, with a zip line to get down from platform. 😅
Make sure there is a good kitchen inside!
As a Portuguese that also grow up in a farm and loved to pretend i made cakes, with old pots and sand with my friends, and see how Crusoe loves to recreate and interact with what you do, I think it will be pretty fun a small "non garage" where they can put all his farm toys, draw their own project with their friends, and play with their mini trucks during the raining days, with a small garden around that will be only for them, my brother always has his only little garden that he loved to take care of :) It could be near the place you made for the to run and play free with each other or their friends, so they can also store there all the toys they will use outside, giving them some sense of freedom/independence from a young age but also learning something with it :)
A mini 'not garage' sounds like a great idea Micaela! Thanks so much for watching and for the idea! 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
I would add a water table. It’s a table to stand up and use with several inches of water, plenty of cups and trucks and and swimming pools, fish 🐠 to swim in the pools, archways to go above water streams, and sand to build banks around water holes.
How about Crusoe’s own miniature farm?! Complete with a little barn for his own little tractor/digger, a little animal pen (ducks/chickens/rabbits?) and his own little vegetable plot to grow his own crops?!
Another great episode guys!
Can’t wait to see the finished wardrobe! 😂👍x
A mini farm! We love that idea Teresa! Thanks so much for watching and for your constant support. We always love reading your comments ❤️❤️❤️
For the playground, i think a combination of all the things you mentioned, but the most important item is a swing! I loved it when I was a child. When we go visit my grandparents in the North of the Netherlands, two times a year, we lived in the south, there was a playground with a big swing and I loved it, I still have fun memories of it and I treasure that! So, no matter what you build, there has to be a big swing!
Thanks Hetty, a swing is always a great idea! Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
Yes, and it has to be stable enough so that adults can also swing on it. Because it's still fun then.
Love the idea of a tire swing.
@@TheNewbys do add a see-saw somewhere too. My playground as a kid was the neighbour's corn paddocks and adventures on my pushbike wherever I dared go in our country town.
Okay, here's the playground plan. Crusoe and Sawyer have two things in common (literarily speaking)... ships/boats and adventure! And I'm thinking a bit about Tumble Leaf. So the Big Idea is a sort of reasonably scaled ship's hull at one end, with a mast to climb and a family designed Newby pirate flag at the top (I've probably also been watching too much Our Flag Means Death), with a little crow's nest for a look-out. The upper deck would of course have a ship's wheel to steer the ship, and fun things like a big panel of latches (fun for the littles), a bucket and mop to swab the deck or turn into a hobby horse and helmet, etc., wooden swords (sticks make good ones!), homemade bows and arrows (more sticks and strings!), and of course a homemade handheld telescope. The lower part would have a little captain's quarters with a bench, a blackboard for planning and scheming, and a mud kitchen (the captain's mess, of course).
A big web of a rope ladder would get you up to the deck and a massive slide would get you down to the bottom, where there would be a big splash park, with a slippery area to slide around and some kind of fountain the kids could splash in (I'm thinking something creative and simple with different kinds of sprinklers or big intermittent splashes). Because what is a shipwreck without some sort of a beach? And of course a sand pit for buried treasure (be sure to cover it up and lock when not in use to keep the critters out). I'd throw in a zip line from the ship to the shore, as well, so one can go as the crow flies!
WOW, now this sounds like a playground heaven! Thanks so much for sharing friend, we know the boys would love this! 😊🙏🏼❤️
If I get the wherewithal to sketch this out, I'll send it along, too. I wish I could build it myself!
Also you could add a beach hut/shelter beyond the sandpit for camping outside or for storing toys out of the way 😁
I honestly don't think I could have thought of anything better than this one !~ Absolutely awesome idea for the boys! I can see it in my head. :) also, I think you could add a set of swings to this, and maybe a rope for climbing up and down, or a pole like in a firehouse for them to come down :) GREAT Idea!
Yes! This sounds amazing!!
Seeing Crusoe playing in nature reminds me so much of my childhood. One thing my brother and I used to love making was a ‘den’. My idea for the competition would be a mini obstacle course (eg tree stumps to clamber up, maybe a mini tube to crawl through etc) which leads on to little den/camp for the boys. Complete with a work table for Crusoe to use his tools and as many mud pies etc he can make. The den could be timber, or even like the hobbit homes in NZ, without a door and covered in moss etc so the boys could play in it whatever the weather. Love you guys such a lovely wholesome family xxx
A den/hobbit home sounds amazing Looby! Thanks so much for watching and for sharing your ideas, we love them 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
Loony T your idea sounds perfect for two busy little boys.
I like Looby T’s idea for the playground.
I recently saw a playground on UA-cam with a mini track around the area to ride tricycles and scooters. The children seemed to use that feature more often even though the “track” wasn’t huge they managed to zoom around. They used chalk to add stop signs, play hopscotch, and using sidewalk chalk they created amazing artwork.
I enjoyed seeing you all out in the sunshine after all the rain you have had. Look forward to seeing Crusoe enjoying his sandpit. 🌸
@@TheNewbys at minute 15:10 you had what looked like a teepee made out of large canes/sticks. A teepee is great for little lads because you can see in from the kitchen window but they have the feeling of a private den. And, you have all the materials to hand and doesn't take an age to build.
@@irenemathieson4229 thank you 😊 x
Okay, here are my ideas: Since you already have “Robinson’s Rock” I think you should go with a Swiss Family Robinson treehouse - just much lower to the ground for little ones. You can have walkways (net covered) between trees and a crow’s nest or a lookout with a slide to get down quickly. Monkey bars connecting spaces would be fun, and it will be totally cool to have a water wheel of some sort since Crusoe loves his puddles/water. Climbing ropes, a ship’s steering wheel, a bell to ring (just for fun), a “kitchen” for mudpie making, and tubes to crawl through to escape pirates!
Wow! The imagination is working hard here, THANK YOU! We are so grateful for these ideas. Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. ❤️❤️🙏
😂😂😂.
The BAMBOO SUN you both created would make a wonderful logo or symbol for your Portugal farm. The bamboo could represent the hardships you have overcome and the strength of your perseverance, and the sun could represent a new day of adventure in your lives.
That design would look beautiful on a t-shirt as well. ☀️
Wow!!! Absolutely love this idea - thank you, we may very well do that 🙏🏼
Oh how fun!! I'm thinking a fort well two really...Fort Crusoe and Fort Sawyer about 50 metres apart with a zip line between the two... Until the boys grow bigger it can be used as a pulley to relay messages or toys between forts. When they get bigger they would love a proper zip line/ flying fox. When I was as girl (tomboy) my brother, sister and our neighbours used to play cowboys and Indians (late 70's) we would have loved a fort!
Two forts with a zip line sounds like an amazing idea Sharon! We LOVE it, thanks so much for sharing 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
Here goes my attempt to explain this sensory playground idea…
All made from materials found on the farm are 3 wicker shelters.
One with seating inside for outdoor story time. A zig zag balance beam links story shelter to another shelter which has climbing fruit planted around the base. Tree stump stepping stones connect the climbing fruit shelter to a third musical shelter. This has xylophones, chimes, bells, drums built into the wall.
A fourth zone (lunch spot) is adjacent to the shelters this has monkey bars from the story shelter and a slide from the climbing fruit shelter.
The slide lands in a sand pit. Surrounding the playground are masses of wildflowers. These will bring pollinators to the fruit and give the boys a spot to pick flowers for their beautiful Mumma.
A sensory playground sounds like a dream playground Charlotte! Thanks so much for sharing that with us, we are so appreciate of your support 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
I grew up in a farm in rural Ireland with woodlands nearby. My father passed away when I was 7yrs old and left my 5 siblings and I completely devastated.....but we would escape to the woods every chance we got to play. we loved getting scraps of wood and metal to build make shift huts , but our dream was always to have a proper tree house.
What we wouldn't give to have a dad like John to build his kids whatever their little hearts desire.
God bless your lovely family xx
A treehouse is definitely a great idea Monica! Thanks so much for all of your support friend, sending you lots of hugs ❤️❤️❤️
When we lived in Germany, our kids loved walking thru the woods. With friends they tried making a tree hide outs. 😅

ONCE AGAIN ~ JUST LOVED WATCHING THIS BEAUTIFUL AND PRECIOUS LITTLE FAMILY LIVING LIFE TO THEE FULL ! ! !
AND ..... SOMETHING THAT SHALL ALWAYS REMAIN VIVIDLY IN MY MIND ABOUT DARLING LITTLE CRUSOE IS, LAST WEEK, WHEN HE "AMAZINGLY SPOTTED MR. 🐐 GOAT" AND ALERTED EVERYONE ELSE TO THE FACT WHILST ..... HOLIDAYING IN ITALY ! ! !
PERSONALLY, I SHALL A-L-W-A-Y-S TREASURE 🤔♥️🤔 THAT SPECIAL MOMENT IN TIME RE: DARLING LITTLE CRUSOE 💕💕💕 AND BEING SO INCREDIBLY ALERT TO HIS SURROUNDINGS.
THANK YOU 💕 FOR SHARING SUCH A SPECIAL MOMENT TOO XXXXXXX.
Hi Candace! Smart little cookie Crusoe. He’s got sharp eyes! Crusoe sends lots of hugs and we all send our thanks for watching. great to have you along for this adventure. 🇵🇹❤️🙏
Lovely video again. I think that playground should be amazing so here's my idea: A rustic treehouse, big enough for 4 to 6 kids, so friends can play in there to. Then off to the side of that a nice
little camp with tree logs to sit on and a rustic tree table. A nice big swing , a tunnel made of wood and twigs to a secret little barn for the kiddo's to play with tools and wood. It must need a water feature so maybe a waterwheel of sorts. Maybe below the treehouse there could be a hammock and a lower deck with some bench. A little garden surrounding the playground, planted with tomatoes and cucumbers and berries, so the boys can snack healthy when they want to.
We love your idea Anja, thanks so much for sharing 😊🙏🏼❤️
Well, you have to have some swinging tires. There are several designs, but it is a great way to recycle used tires to make a wonderful swing for the boys and adults. You can also make a boat shaped sandbox. We had an old row boat that was filled about halfway up with sand. We spent hours and hours in that boat playing with the sand and recreating scenes from various stories my mom read to us. Captain hook to Davey Jones locker to capturing the great white whale! You have to include a wheel at the front to steer by, of course. We also had a plank to walk as well.
You could add a rope net like wall to climb up to a platform look out and a slide back down.
A child's imagination is limitless. If you incorporate bits from their favorite stories it makes it even better.
We love your ideas Kim, thanks so much for sharing 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
a swing, seesaw not to forget a slide!! easy, simple, old fashioned and kids love all three items. build it down by the sandpit!
Love those ideas Elizabeth, thanks so much for sharing 🛝❤️🇵🇹
A playpark - Helter skelter, trampoline, see saw, climbing wall, tunnel connecting parts of the garden.
Now that sounds like fun friend 😊🙏🏼❤️
Love the competition, a tree house with roof, a hang bridge or steps on the one side and a slide as a exit. Rope swings from the tree and underneath the house a toy shed. Small safe area with lots of fun and joy. Please remember the bag of salt in the sand, to keep it germ free. Love your guys. 😍
Oh we like those ideas Elsa, thanks so much for sharing! 😊🙏🏼❤️
I grew up with 6 siblings, we made our own fun. We were outside when we weren’t at school( no choice really) our slide was an old car bonnet, our seesaw was a plank of wood over a barrel, the innards of a washing machine was a merry go round. A rope swing. We had Babby houses with old pots and pans, we made mud pies, we seperated ashes so the fine ash was like flour, we once mixed ash and red wine remnants for pink mud pies, another time we found and old hen egg nest and mixed rotten eggs and ash( we were met with the hose that day😂😂😂😂) we had an old table that was our stage and re-enacted Buck’s Fizz at the Eurovision.
All your boys need is the freedom to use their imaginations, You have amazing land and with your great parenting they will create their own playground.
Hi Nicole, we love this comment a lot. Thank you. ❤️🙏😊
As a kid, my dad built me a sandpit, a small pool, a play house, and God knows what else! But the thing I liked the most, is that he would save a little corner of the garden just for me to rummage about in. He´d leave some logs, planks, old pots, cans & tubs lying around, and reserved a spot for my little spade & mini wheelbarrow. It was mý spot, where I was boss & could decide to do whatever I wanted to do. I´d spend endless hours there, moving the sand, playing in the mud, observing the ants, recording self made-up radio plays with my friends, and eventually building forts & what later turned out to be my first ever garden patch. It is the freedom and the autonomy of ´my´ little corner of the garden that I have the fondest memories of, looking back on my childhood play. A place where I could be inventive & let my imagination run wild 🙂
Maybe call it ´Gulliver´s Garden´ (to pair with ´Robinson´s Rock´)?
That sounds like something Crusoe would enjoy having van Hout! we are so appreciate of your support friend ❤️🇵🇹
We love it ❤️❤️❤️
Playground idea for your little adventurers that connects the different areas of your property and has something fun in each area because Mum and Dad have to keep moving and the children want to be entertained.
Start at the sandbox, connect it to Robinsons Rock with a short gravel path that leads to 3 steps up on a wooden landing with a wood and rope bridge to the next landing to rock climbing wall (stairs to the side as well) up to the top of Robinsons rock, plastic slide down to the ground below, pathway leading to the next landing with child sized zip line (like at a public playground) to the next landing onward to where the water comes out, build a small shallow pond dug down into the ground about the size and depth of a child’s plastic swimming pool for tadpoles, frogs, freshwater snails and water for the birds and tiny living things, fill it with rocks and grasses along the edges, then onward to the next area adding other fun small builds along the way such as a castle or fort. Add a couple slides along the upper pathway so your son can slide down to the lower area to race you to the garden. Probably a silly idea I know and I can’t really remember the layout of the property correctly but I know eventually it leads to your swimming pool. Whatever you build for them I’m sure it will be fantastic. They are blessed to have you both. Stay well. 😊
Thanks June! Those are some amazing ideas you have there, thanks so much for sharing them. We are sure the boys will love them! Thanks so much for watching friend 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
Treehouse is great, and also a castle ruin 😊
Seesaw, swings, climbing net, small A-frame house/hideout, add climbing handles/ foot holds to the rock
Great ideas friend! Thanks so much for watching 😊🙏🏼❤️
Pirate Ship Tree house complete with slide at the side and rope swing hanging /hammock from underneath
Been watching your past travel adventures …. Loved Namibia …. 8 different animals in one spot was spectacular
Sawyer is so cute in his fur hood, Crusoe is a 🌟
Have a great week
🌟🌈🇬🇧
A Pirate ship tree house sounds amazing Angela! Thanks so much for sharing 🏴☠️😊🙏🏼❤️
I'm picturing a "Robinson Crusoe, shipwreck/desert island" scenario with the front of a ship in tact with a turning wheel, stumps in the ground to traverse with ropes either side to guide you, an open cubby in the ships bow, surrounded by sand and treasures. And a slide, it has to have a slide! Puddles optional lol!
That sounds incredible Sissilia! Thanks so much for watching friend, we are so appreciate of your support 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
On your beautiful property here is all you need to keep kids and adults clamoring for more for decades: 1. A long, long slide going down one of your hills, and 2. A swing that attaches to a limb at least 30 feet up, creating a monstrous swinging arc. I promise no one will ever get bored. ❤️
Thanks for the suggestions Barb, we love them ❤️❤️❤️
As a kid, we spent absolutely hours and hours playing on a long plank swing that was suspended on a frame and had handles in the centre , so 2 or 3 kids could sit holding on and then one or two kids stood at either end and worked it up to speed with their feet, holding onto the frame poles. I used to pretend I was riding a horse really fast or flying thru the air on a magic carpet ride. Don't see them around these days anymore but if I was a kid again, I would definitely want one built to play on. Plus a water pump , old fashioned handle pump with a downward flow into the sand pit for making sandcastles and drip castles and all sorts. Best two playground items IMHO . I'll email you a photo of a long plank swing that I found on the internet 💛✨💫
That sounds amazing Shona! Thanks so much for watching friend, we love hearing from you. Yes please do email us ❤️❤️❤️
We designed and built a fort with a covered deck on one side and open deck on the other. The open deck had a ship's wheel, a telescope and a place for a flag. The covered area had a children's picnic table that was easily moved to the open area. We had many picnic lunch dates and snack/book reading afternoons there. We had camping nights under both also. There was a climbing wall on the back and monkey bars, a 2 swings, a bar, and a glider on one side. The front side had a climbing rope net and slide, and 2 different level bars coming off. The 4th side had a large tire swing. Under the covered deck was a sandbox and under the open deck, a water feature (sink). They also stored their bikes under the deck. The fort was also our 'fire safety spot' which we practiced drills so our 5 children all knew where to go in case of a fire in our home. Our plan was to all meet there. Fortunately, we never had to use it for a real situation.
Love, LOVE what you are doing on your farm home! You guys are one reason I LOVE Sunday mornings!! 🥰
Hi Tammy, great to hear from you! That fort sounds amazing, you really did a great job! Sounds incredible! Sending you lots of love ❤️❤️❤️
I think we loved it as much as our children!
Share some pictures with the Newbys! Maybe then we all could have a peek too! Sounds amazing!
I like the idea of a covered den, where the boys can hide out, with a door & opening windows & a table & bench for them to have picnics. All little boys & girls love a den, I had a Wendy house & loved it.
I live this idea too Beverley. Thank you friend. ❤️❤️🙏🙏
A tree house like Swiss Family Robison would have absolutely been my favorite! I loved forts, so a tree house would have been amazing and the next level up. 💚
Sounds awesome friend ❤️❤️❤️
PLAYGROUND 🌿🌳
- Large tree stumps to balance one that can be moved and rolled to where they like .
- A mud put!
- A big tree with a homemade wooden or tyre swing.
- Loose planks for making bike jumps and balance beams
- A cubby house!
- A strawberry patch.
- Mostly upcycled, natural and built together, and added to as interests and abilities grow :)
♡ From an Aussie who grew up on a farm (with 5 brothers)!
Hi Katie! A strawberry patch and a mud pit are excellent ideas! Thank you! ❤️❤️🙏
A tree house with a roll up rope ladder to keep the grown-ups out. With maybe monkey bars below and a rope swing from a nearby tree - even better if you could swing onto a platform by the tree house like Tarzan. Maybe some things added later as the boys get older. Perhaps the tree house could be thatched to make the whole thing more jungle like.
This sounds like a really fun project Sue, one we know the boys will love! Thanks so much for sharing and watching friend 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
For the"NEWBY'S PLAYLAND" There would be a log cabin- with shutters, bunk beds and a table and benches. A front porch with two boys chairs and their own small vege/ herb garden. Lots of butterfly attraching plants around. A small maze, so they can run around after each other, but, be able to see over the top so that you know where they are (as they grow, so do the maze hedges). Lots of floor based games, hop scotch, giant jenga, floor base draughts and chess board, so that mum and dad can play as well. Swing, slide and seasaw. Later on, when the boys are older, THE BOYS CLUB, TREE HOUSE - where they can chill, read, learn and play the guitar. Lastly, you must include CRUSOE'S MUDDY PUDDLE WALK!!
A log cabin sounds like a fun project Elizabeth! We are sure Crusoe would enjoy it too. Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️❤️❤️
A log cabin sounds like a really fun project Elizabeth! Thanks so much for sharing, we are so appreciate of your support ❤️🇵🇹
I live in Canada on the Prairies, so flat land and open skies for miles. We raised three boys and we did not have a lot of stuff but a good bicycle, a high sandbox under a massive maple tree (loads of climbing possibilities too) seemed to keep our boys busy for hours. I honestly think the simpler the idea the more the children have to use their imagination to play. And that’s never a bad thing to make them think and problem solve. Good luck Newbys from the Gehls
Thanks Joanne, lots of food for thought in that comment, thank you so much. Your boys surly had the best childhood. We so hope for the same for ours. Thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🇵🇹🏡
A PIRATE SHIP - with a scramble net, sail and rigging, hammock, cannons, ships wheel, plank to walk, dangling knotted rope to climb and swing on, poop deck, cabin to hide in and have picnics with seating, climbing wall, slide, possibly a firemans pole, port holes to peep out of, crows nest, trap doors - my imagination is going wild here - I'll send you a sketch ⚓⛵✏🏴☠
I think I might like to play in one like this now - I'm pretty sure Crusoe and Sawyer would love it!
A pirate ship seems like a great idea Andi! Your imagination is definitely going wild, but we love it! We can't wait to see the sketch. Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
@@TheNewbys I sent it to you on instagram 😊
As a fellow Portuguese, not bought up on a farm, but every single year I would go back to my families farm when it existed as a young child. I adored pretending to find faires in the Orange and Apple trees, dragons who could speak and protect me and lots of mini beasts that could talk.
Most of all, having lots of small areas where I could make tents and sit in my own space looking at books, speaking to Victoria Plum! and bringing back any of the baby Rabbits that my step grandmother would allow me to. Also the buckets of sand and water and small swimming pool.
Just like Cruzo I use to love helping my step mother to water the trees, feed the animals and just explore nature, eating the oranges, apples, pears and peaches that she grew straight off the trees. Grounding, taking in the Sun and staying healthy.
So special, thanks so much for sharing Sandra ❤️❤️❤️
playground ideas , Wooden Adventure Playset with deck climbing frame , mud kitchen and slide

What a beautiful place you have . My beautiful country Portugal have a lot of abandoned farms. Thank you to bring it to live
Thanks Ana, we absolutely LOVE our little piece of paradise here ❤️🇵🇹
Do you have any tips? We are interested 😊
PLAYGROUND SUGGESTIONS: SOMMER LAND. Including a river leading to little oasis, a bridge and slide leading to the oasis. Even e mini house/hut. Even another small hanging bridge made by wood and ropes. 😍😍😍👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻 Crusoe 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
I can even send a sketch! 😊
I vote for a huge sandbox with lots of toy vehicles, from cars to bulldozers and wooden popsicle sticks. Use only good sand and of course it needs a cover when not being used. I had a small sandbox as a kid and loved making roads, and hills, mountains and bridges.
Thanks Pamela! The sand box is a big hit with Crusoe for sure. Love this idea. Thank you. 🙏🙏❤️❤️
Great video, and I’m sure the boys will get endless fun out of the sand pit. When I was little, I was mad about the book Heidi, and my dream would have been some kind of log cabin that I could play in and more importantly sleep in, I always visualised a bed platform arrangement. I think I’d still like that but now I would be more demanding and I would want a roof that opened so I could see the stars. Oooh and if it could be a log cabin in a tree … Take care x
Thanks so much Paris, a log cabin sounds incredible! I am sure all of us would enjoy lying under the stars. Sending you lots of love ❤️❤️❤️
I didn't read this and described almost the exact same treehouse. lol. so great!!
@@JassiJodid your cabin have to be raised from the ground? Mine did, I wanted a staircase to enter, well steps anyway, and a veranda where I could sit and read. I thought if it was above ground height, animals could make their homes under mine and they would keep me safe. It’s all so clear, in my head, even today 😆
Pirate ship (small for climbing in and out) a playhouse or covered pergola w ladders and a rope swing hanging off. Small teeter/totter & climbing tree stumps in a pattern where they can jump from one to another. They would love a small concert pad or small oval pool to run cars-and trucks on
Rope (in a grid pattern)hung between two trees for climbing.
A grassy mound (to play king of the castle).
And of course the great sand area you are building!
Hi Mia! A grassy mound is a cool idea, I remember playing king of the castle as a child too! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. 🙏❤️👍
We had a treehouse which we climbed up to, out the other side of it was a flying fox ... What would have been great would be to continue this with monkey hoops, parallel bars etc ending with swings that are attached to under the treehouse, a circular activity area that they can use as a full circle or in parts (parents might like the swings too?!!)
Love that idea friend! Thanks so much for sharing friend ❤️❤️❤️
a bridge with built in seats and a lookout, made of materials from farm over a puddle/notoriously wet area with metal cut-out statues like on river in Ponte de Lima...we love Portugal
Thanks Anya! Love the bridge idea! Thank you friend. We also LOVE Portugal!
I know someone who built a Pirate Ship in their yard! It had a climbing net, flag pole/(mast), slide and 2 levels (below and above deck). If it's against a hill, you could build a bridge/gangplank with (railings of course) and maybe eventually a knotted rope to climb up/down...and don't forget the Port Holes!! (I can also envision a Treasure chest and a telescope)
Oh wow that sounds incredible Robin! Thanks so much for watching friend 🏴☠️❤️🇵🇹
I would make a treehouse and a a slide wrapping a part of Robbisons rock. A little “workspace” shed but open on the sides for the boys where they can play “work” as Cruiso (sorry for probably writing his name wrong) loves to play with his tools ⚒️ and beging busy with his hands I think you should combine it and in the tree house they can play house. Make a little insect table. Kids love that
A treehouse with a workspace is a great idea friend! Thanks so much for watching and sharing your ideas 😊🙏🏼❤️
I have created a magical, scary and fun playground for my grindchildren.. it has trolls, fairys, skeleton, witches, little people and more. No monsters! It has paths, small buildings and all things has its own room. It is a piece of land and its fun to create it. A work in progress.
We love the sound of that Maria! We are sure your grandchildren are going to love it. Thanks so much for watching friend 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
Playground:
A hanging rope bridge that hangs from the concrete posts. that held the grape. A wooden castle/labyrinth around the Robinson rock. Monkey bars. Tree house with different levels and rope latter. Pollinators sanctuary. Carved out wood trunk filled with plant to the kids to learn to grow little plants, like bean, pea, sunflower, etc.
Different wooden structures to clime on. Different ropes hanging with knots to swing and clime. Tent for hiding. And finally a football gates.
Great projects for master woodworker Daddy John too. And natural, economical too.
Great ideas friend! Thanks so much for sharing 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
tree house with slide into the sand box and the track sounds best to me
Yep, love that idea! Thanks Jennelle!
Whatever you decide on will be terrific! I’ve always loved swings! Still do at 58! Also, some sort of cave/fort/ teepee with a big old chest inside for outdoor toys/treasures. Slides and seesaws are fun too. You may want to think about this as phase one that could expand when the boys are old enough to help you build phase two that would appeal to their own ideas at that point. How lucky are these boys, hey?!
Love this idea of phases and letting the boys decide on extention later on.
Thank you Elena, a fort is a great idea! Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
Hello from California😎 I'm 62 years old and lost my brother 30 years ago ,I still miss him and often catch myself thinking about all of our adventures together we were natural roamers and wanderers ....remembering the river beds and natural lakes , my uncle and Aunt's ranch on the high desert being on out horses in the pear orchards and the tall green grass ...the Bat's in the fruit trees, the bull frogs, salamanders ,snakes, horny toads, scorpions ....I'm glad that we didn't have "manufactured" fun . We LOVED to explore ! So having said ALL of that I would make it all a wonder land with secret gardens and look out posts , forts , and a bridge over a dry stream bed but one edged with bushes that bring in all critters that could have water run off at different times (or at all times🤷♀️) when they get older dirt bikes and all the other types of sports basket ball ,baseball, bat mitton, volley ball ,ping pong bbq pit/fire pit roasted marsh mellows, hot dogs ....endless natural beauty everywhere ...I feel so bad for the kids of today where the kids have no natural enviroment ...you have it!!! Build on nature ALL the way 😀
Hello Dana, we are so sorry to hear about your loss. It is never easy but great that you have great memories together! Thanks so much for watching friend, we definitely want to build on nature. Sending you lots of love ❤️❤️❤️
I grew up on a farm and we had the coolest tree house with a slide to come down and a swing under it. We spend hours and hours playing in it.
Amazing Amber! Thanks so much for watching friend 😊🙏🏼❤️
I am 65 years old and I still love to go down a slide. Think toddler for the next 5 years- anything they can climb on, slide down on and swing on! Enjoy Newby's!
Hi Nancy! A slide then we will need to build! Brilliant! Crusoe sends lots of hugs and we all send our thanks for watching. great to have you along for this adventure. 🇵🇹❤️🙏
My mom built us a treehouse to play in! We spent endless hours of adventures in it, it was the absolute best. Spend many sleep outs in it too. It stood for 50 years and was just taken down a few years ago. The windows that were in it are now used in my daughter’s chicken coop. She had 9 feathery friends that helped her cope through the lockdowns, chickens have the most curious personalities and are so much fun, they brought us so much joy, if you can believe it! I vote treehouse but i hobbit house would be fun too!
A treehouse sounds amazing Karen. Thanks so much for watching friend 😊🙏🏼❤️
Omg playground would definitely be a tree house with balcony for the sunset, with slider to exit it, swings on the bottom with flat space for some picnic and inside the little house a little library and some toys for visiting friends 😼😻
That sounds great Gabriela! Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
Make a multi level tree house inspired playground with a converted area with roof and a slide to go down and swings, maybe you could have the sand pit under the playground. Keeping the same timber that you earmarked spot it.
Oh we like the sound of that Paulo! Thanks so much for watching friend 😊🙏🏼❤️
Wow!! So many awesome ideas. I would vote for keep it simple! You have two very young kids, so them being on the ground is probably the best for now. Sand pit, mud kitchen with lots of little trucks, dinosaurs, shovels, and then activity tables- water tables, sensory tables. And a little obstacle course for them to practice on. And as they grow- you build! Maybe a tire swing, monkey bars, tree house. Sky is the limit! Most important. Have loads of fun.
And also not too much stuff! My daughter loved cardboard boxes, not the toys inside. Life lessons! :)
Obstancle course! That sounds fun
Hi Xandra! John was exactly the same as a child he loved the cardboard boxes most! Good advice friend. Thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🇵🇹🏡
Crusoe is so lovely helping to stack the wood. He’s always busy following dad. 🤩
He absolutely loves helping his dad Edna, Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
Oh I know! He is such a cutie pie! Curious and always willing to help! ❤
My dad built us an awesome treehouse when i was 6. We were living next door and when they went to build our new house on that lot, they cut down the tree. I'm 66 now and I still want that treehouse. We had so much fun there - rope and bucket to pull things up, an old telescope, a little bird feeder close by. We spent hours there. So I'm voting for a tree house.
We are sure the boys will enjoy a treehouse Lisa, Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️❤️❤️
Brilliant, loved every minute of it. I spent my childhood in my Aunties disused chicken hut. I papered it with newspapers and sat on the roosting platforms to eat my Aunties freshly made chips so I would have liked a mini house to play in. (I’m still a frustrated interior designer at the age of 78).
Thanks so much for watching Angela, that is so special! Thanks for sharing friend 🐔❤️🇵🇹
Two little boys NEED a miniature train!!! This grandma says so!!! There was one at the little zoo I visited as a child, and then took my children when they were little. We all loved it. There are going to be many wonderful ideas for your playground, but it will not be complete without a miniature train going around it!! Love your videos... oh to be young and have that much energy again!!
Brilliant. OK so we need to work out how to find a train! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. ❤️❤️🙏🚝🚂🚂
Ooooh!! Competition time! "Treasure Island" theme😀...I would build a spiral staircase up to a Rope bridge(or several!) connecting from Robinson's Rock across to the rock wall to a huge 2 story tree house with 2 ways down..(one being a slide and the other a bucket that you can sit in to lower yourself) continuing in the far edge of the pasture several play stations like monkey bars followed by a see saw and tires in line to jump in and out of ending up by the sandbox...😮 or something like that..
Hugs to you all from California ❤
Wow we love these ideas friend! We are sure the boys will LOVE this too! Thanks so much for watching and for sharing ideas, sending you lots of hugs ❤️❤️❤️
Don’t forget the thrill of the land and watching the sunrises and your WONDERFUL neighbors. Just stay and finish the dream.
Thanks Penny! 100% staying. Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. ❤️🙏
Hi Guy's 👋
The Farm is looking glorious it's lifted my spirits this morning. Crusoe is the brightest and mightiest little boy full of energy and always willing and able to help out ❤ Sawyer has got so big he's gorgeous ❤ John makes carpentry look easy!! Wardrobe is looking great 👍👌
Tara I love your vision for the farm ❤ I think a castle or a tree house an area in either for Crusoe to keep his tools also an area for drawing (maybe a blackboard) definitely a swing and slide with a climbing frame. Some fairy doors fixed to some of the trees along a magical path surrounded by plants and flowers and of course Bamboo will have to have a place in the construction!! 💚
Ye are getting beautiful fresh weather over, its damp and dull here in Co Limerick today but having some lovely sunshine days also. 💛
❤❤❤❤
Blessed 🙏
Hi Jan! Thanks so much friend, we always love hearing from you. A castle or tree house does sound like fun doesn't it! Sending you lots of love and sunshine ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Newbys! It was so enjoyable to see you all so happy on your beautiful farm. I can visualize the future plans you talk about. They’ll be great!
I think a tree house would be good to put on the playground. Have a slide so your little ones can get down easily, not climb down ladder. Some swings would be fun for your boys too!
Everyone looks great! Wishing you the best! Sending ☮️ & ❤️
A few years ago I drew a fun mushroom 🍄 house that actually has two levels and an outdoor seating area around it. I think I still have the drawings somewhere and will email them to you.
I really like the idea of a fairy tale place for kids to play. I know it’s not a whole playground, but it could be one part of the whole. You know, taking bits from several ideas to make a fun play village. ☺️
That sounds great Carol! Thanks so much for sharing 🍄🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
Hello John, Tara, Crusoe and Sawyer…..Great to see you back on the farm and being very productive. I think we all wish we had a John who could just pop along and build what we need! 👏🏻👏🏻 I love seeing Crusoe being so busy on the farm and helping out wherever he can….such a star ⭐️ As for your playground ideas…..oh my! Do you know, I never had any requests for a playground as a child as I was lucky enough to be right by the beach and beautiful parks, so I had my ideal playground at my fingertips. 🥰 but for Crusoe and Sawyer ummm……I think probably a wooden fortress with small moat and a drawbridge and activities to do inside it….leading up into a tree house where they can adventure together and have the best time. Whatever you build…they will be lucky little boys for sure. Best wishes and ❤ Julie 😊
Hello Julie. Great to hear from you friend. John is so talented friend, I am very lucky! We love the sound of a wooden fort - I am sure the boys would love it too! Thanks so much for watching and for your constant support. Sending you lots of love ❤️❤️❤️
This toddler's so well behaved and content because his parents have included him in all their activities. So he feels part of everything and makes his contribution to life on the farm. Clever parenting.
Thank you for such a lovely comment Storrie. we are so appreciate of your support 😊🙏🏼❤️
Just love seeing Crusoe having so much fun. Love seeing him smile! I would have a treehouse like The Swiss Family Robinson one at Disney world with bridges, slides, secret spaces, etc. and then a pirate ship like in the movie Goonies, but maybe with a water slide into a small pool with sand, like a beach. Add some lights for night time features and Wa La.....Love you guys!
He absolutely loves it here Christine! Seems like the Swiss Family Robinson is a very popular choice. Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
My Dream playground would have a climber with ropes with knots hanging from one of the bars, a swing made out of a car tyre and of course a house but not a tree house. Thats for older kids. A tree house with a kitchen and a bench + the sand pit. I think that would be enough, the kids can do a lot of excercise, play in their imaginary world and built at the sand pit. 😘
Brilliant Marcela! Love all of these ideas, I’m sure we build something similar to this. Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. ❤️🙏
You have some great suggestions already! I’m picturing a shipwreck surrounded by a sandy beach with a hole in the side of the hull which they can climb or crawl through, also a tree house nearby, to go with your Robinson Caruso theme. I also like the idea of a mini farm with a garden and a few farm animals because I personally love to have animals around me. Whatever you create will be a joy for your two beautiful boys. You are wonderful parents!
"What She Said "☺
A shipwreck is a great idea Lauren! Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
Since your boys names are inspired by adventure, I think a neverland inspired ship treehouse with some unique features like a walking plank that goes to a slide that lands in a sandpit and a lookout point at the top with a telescope.
A neverland ship treehouse sounds fun Hayley! ❤️🇵🇹
You should store the logs as they need at least 12months to season before you can use them and you might have a log burner by then. Fruit wood is also great for barbecues.
Thanks for the advice Sue! Will definitely store the logs. Thanks so much for watching friend🪵🪵
OH to be a Newby child! When I was a kid, I ALWAYS wanted a spectacular tree house, teeter-tottet, monkey bars, and swing set. ALL in the same location. I did get 2 of them. Only the tree house was MUCH later and my cousin and I built it together. I can hardly wait to see the Newby Community's fabulous ideas come pouring in! A great big "good job everyone" in advance!
Sounds amazing Tammara, thanks for sharing 😊🙏🏼❤️
I love the idea of a castle on Robinson rock with a sand box moat
We love it too Debora. Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
I always loved tiny spaces (like Crusoe in the cupboard) so I'm imagining a network of different spaces, to crawl through and larger ones to share with brothers and other friends. And maybe a moat, considering C's love of puddles :)
A moat sounds like fun Elaine! Thanks so much for watching friend 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
Being one of five children, all 11 months apart, our favorite indoor and outdoor playground was always building a fort. Only kids were allowed and grownups when invited. All three boys and two girls loved them. I could see on your property digging a cave as the fort with a proper door then maybe a secret entrance for the little ones. Our fort was always the meeting place and should have a place to sit around and plan all adventures of the day. The possibilities would be endless with the space you have to work with.
We are all grown now some with their own grandkids. We did not have the electronics or video games growing up. It was our imaginations that kept entertained. Looking back we each are grateful for that.
A fort is always a great idea Green B, we enjoyed those growing up. Thanks so much for watching friend, sending you lots of love ❤️❤️❤️
I love the sand box idea! My Uncle built my children a sand box when they were little.
If the property supports it, why not make a walking/bike trail around the perimeter of the property? You could make tunnels that are high enough for adults and safe, of course, and hills for added fun. Have fun!
Thanks for that idea Danielle, we are so appreciate of your support friend 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
This would be amazing! I loved riding my bike and exploring nature paths in Africa, so I think this is such a great idea!
@@charswellness Thanks.
When I was little, I had a play house with all the bells and whistles Like our real house but why not expand on that and make a little mini town. With different shops, homes and the towns playground with swings, a teeter totter, sand box and tree house complete with a pulley system to get treasures up and down and of course every town needs a road system. So incorporate your idea of a Go cart track through the orchard. BTW I love your channel and your precious little family
A mini town sounds like fun friend. Thanks so much for watching 😊🙏🏼❤️
Well every playground needs a swing, a place to climb, I would add small water feature where the kids can run across. A slide down the rock? You already have a “pool”, football pitch and a sandbox. Maybe a dirt road to bike around on. That would give some activities to do while the kids are smaller. The thing about a treehouse, is that is more fun to build it than to actually play with it. Anyways, thanks as always! Ow and if a hand is needed to help build said playground heaven, I’d volunteer
Thanks so much Dave, a dirt road does sound like a fun idea! Thanks so much for watching and for your constant support. It means the world to us 😊🙏🏼❤️
Hello Dear Newbys!I am long past the age for thinking about a play-yard set-up, but, as a Mother, may I suggest that the sand box be a bit bigger? Two children would have enough room for awhile, but digging is sometimes linear, as dreams and imagination grow. Also, a playmate would really not have room at all with the size you plan. Just loved having a better look at darling Sawyer in this clip. Another handsome lad. I think he resembles his Mother, which is only fair as Crusoe is John all over again. Nice to hear that Crusoe already wants to chime in with all the talking. Most precious when Crusoe went over to gently pat Sawyer's beautiful, newly-uncovered bare head! You are such a loving family! May God bless you always! Patricia
Hello Patricia, great to hear from you! We will definitely look at getting a bigger sand pit, this one will do the trick for now. Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
I always wanted a rope slide. :-) it could start at the new sand playing area, going down over the grass area. I think it would be fun.
Ohh a rope slide sounds like fun Eva! Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
Hi everyone! Brilliant wardrobe! x
Hi Julie! Thanks so much, John has done an incredible job. Can't wait to show you the final product. Sending you lots of hugs ❤️🇵🇹
Hi Tara, John, Crusoe and Sawyer. Greetings from the uk.
I am so glad Tara that you suggested to leave the tree. I have an apple tree in my garden which didn’t produce any fruit for two years. Others were convinced it should be cut down but I decided to leave it and last year it produced loads of fruit. I think nature should always be given a chance. I always enjoy your channel and wait eagerly every Sunday for the notification. Sending best wishes to you as always. Pamela ❤
Hi Pamela. We think it is going to make such a nice shaded seating area, we can't wait to see! Thanks so much for watching friend, sending you lots of love ❤️❤️❤️
Playground idea: Miniature Town, with shops, the doctor, townhall, vet, etc. all built around a town square with slides, swings, etc
Miniature town sounds fun! Thanks for sharing friend 😊🙏🏼❤️
I'm not sure Crusoe needs a "formal" playground since he already seems to do really well making his own fun everywhere on the farm. We didn't have the money to build a playground when I was a kid but still managed to have loads of fun outdoors. My Mom never got bent out of shape when we created a baseball diamond in the front yard, made forts from debris during the nice weather and snow during the winter. We even played tin can cricket on the driveway. Whatever is decided for the playground, I am sure John will have as much fun building it as Crusoe and Sawyer will have fun playing in it until they outgrow it.
You are quite right Cec, John will have just as much fun building it! 😊🙏🏼❤️
A labyrinth or maze. My two boys love running around any kind of maze, just following a trail brings them so much joy!
Love it Lisa! Thank you for your idea! 🙏❤️
Tara is just a pleasure watching Crusoe, having so much fun around the farm, and how involved he gets w everything,I love how you and John are bringing him up!!A tree house sounds perfect ,I can just imagine him enjoying every minute of ig ,he can house his tools ,etc and maybe John can build him some tiny pieces of furniture ,like a table and chairs and a working bench ,that Would be really nice w some hanging baskets do Crusoe could plant some flowers or vegetables !!
I love watching you guys, the farm is looking great😊❤
Thanks Dina, love the furniture idea. This is going to be fun! Thank you friend. 👍🙏❤️
So loved watching crusoe growing up . John was so enjoying his chain saw . Your videos always makes me smile .
Thank you Janice! What a lovely comment to read. Thank you friend. we are having so much fun here on the farm. Great to have you joining us. 🙏🇵🇹🏡
Hi newbys! For my idea for the playground, I would love for the playground to respect the nature of the farm so lots of wooden builds would look great! Having the playground where the sandbox is would be perfect! A zip line coming from Robinsons rock down to the playground be awesome along with a slide going down the hill leading to the lawn. I’m thinking A treehouse with a tire swing, a climbing wall, a spiral staircase leading to the treehouse and monkey bars like the one we saw in your video in Italy! Also a sandpit area with a watch tower with binoculars to look over the the mountains! In between the tree house and watch tower, additions like a garden table, their own little green house, and most importantly a rail track going around the the playground (or the lawn) with a train! Also, little things like hopscotch on the ground or stepping blocks would complement it x
.. and a bridge! :)
Love the zip line idea! I´d have loved that as a child.
Thanks Nikola! Love the focus on blending in and ensuring nature is at the heart of the design. Thanks for sharing your ideas friend. ❤️❤️🙏
Lots of things that move, swing, and slides. Make the slide a water slide for summer time. Enjoying the channel. Tks for sharing.
Thank you friend. Love all of these ideas. Great to hear from you, thanks for watching. 🙏🙏❤️
I’m still watching & liking 👍every week but haven’t said ‘Hi’ for a while. There are so many imaginative ideas being posted that are fantastic but when I was younger I also wished for a space that was all for me, a secret sanctuary outside away from everyone else, where I could do my own thing & have it the way I wanted it, ahhh bliss. 😊 💚
Hi Emma, great to hear from you friend! A secret sanctuary sounds like a lot of fun, a little personal haven. Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️❤️❤️
My Fantasy Playground: I always wanted my own multi-level Castle. I envisioned it made of 3 platform/rooms with ladders to each floor above. There would be windows with shutters to hide behind or to shoot pirates from. There would be a "drawbridge slide" that would be let down on the middle level for escaping the enemy. The top level would have a beam jutting out with a knotted rope that could double as a swing or climbing rope. There would be a turret at the top to survey my kingdom with a round thatched roof to keep out the rain or snow, and a bell to warn villagers of attack. Each level would have a huge beanbag chair for reading or napping, a shelf for books and knick-knacks, a pirate trunk for toys and captured treasure.
There would be a proper bridge across a moat to my front door, with iron rivets, and a heavy iron knocker which would make a seriously impressive noise.
Finally, there had to be a flag which I would either raise from the turret or unfurl from the top of the wall to let everyone know I was in residence, with my very own coat of arms!
A multi-level castle sounds like great fun Abigail! A huge project but I am sure the boys will enjoy it. Thanks so much for watching friend 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
When I was a child my big brother built me a treehouse over a stream. It had a bucket and pulley system so that I could draw water from the stream and bring it up. It was amazing as I could see for miles it seemed through the forest from my treehouse in the sky! Cannot wait to see what you build on your beautiful farm for your boys!
That sounds great Blake! Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
For the playground, keep it simple at this age! All wood swing set, including a baby swing that will convert to a toddler swing. Next, a sandbox (which you are already making) and a kiddie garden nearby. Next a climbing tree that will provide shade and is low enough for the boys to climb up to a small platform and slide down a smooth plastic slide. All of these small child ideas will lead to the 9 to 12 and beyond treehouse nearby. I am an 79-year-old gramma of 11
An all wood swing set sounds great Jean. Thanks so much for watching friend 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
@@TheNewbys so exciting to watch you grow the farm and your boys. I love watching the freedom you give Crusoe…I’ll send a drawing of what I envision for you first playground.
I would have loved a tree house with a log hang bridge to a medieval castle, tunnels, a shipwreck. Tree ropes with tyre swings and of course a tool shed for the boys. A medieval themed little village would be great fun. You could have a nice picnic area with a fire pit to cook dinners for the whole family and friends. Maybe even an outdoor bar aswell 😊.
A tree house does seem like a great idea Virginia! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with us ❤️❤️❤️
Playground: I know this is not practical because you are actually taking down and trimming trees right now. But I think a playground of inner-connecting trees would be wonderful. Where the boys could go from tree to tree with out touching the ground. Maybe even a tree house mingled in the middle. Add a rope swing and a small DIY safe zip line and it would be a wonderland. I had access to a orchard/jungle when I was a kid and my friends and I did exactly that. We named it the Raymond’s. Never fell once! I am 68 and I still remember the fun childhood I had.
Hi Melody! What a wonderful story friend. Thank you so much for sharing your memories with us. Pure magic, we hope Crusoe has similar memories when he is 68 too. ❤️❤️❤️🙏
The land around your compound is so alive. The boys are blessed to grow in this environment. Love to all.❤
Thanks so much for watching Rachel, we are so lucky to have our very own little piece of paradise. We absolutely love it here. Sending you lots of love ❤️❤️❤️
PLEASE,,,A TREE 🏡,,,,,endless fun for the boys,,
I would have been so happy if I had a stage to perform on with seats for the audience, a “Playground Merry Go Round” and a tent.
Hi Sue! Ahhh a stage, that’s a fun idea! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. ❤️🙏
I always dreamed of a “mini town” as a kid - you could create a “mini homestead” for the boys, mini farmhouse, mini tractor, mini tools, mini garden and veggie patch, mini pond etc- as a child, it must feel magical to have everything that big people have but scaled down to size 🥰
A mini town does sound fun Bridget! Thanks so much for watching and for your constant support, it means the world to us ❤️❤️❤️
