Having spent the last four summers in northern Portugal and listening to the heat waves everywhere else, you will be glad of your little farm one day. Maybe you need a pool for summer but now you have the idea;;;;!

There is no comparison to there an Port.! The Italians take their time with codes, inspections, getting locals to come out to work for pay. Sooo much more to consider. Lots of stone to deal with!
Looks like a lovely visit & the view is incredible. It will be interesting to follow them on their journey now but my heart is with your cozy little farm in Portugal. Just so peaceful. I ‘m not a height person & all those terraces are just too much for me but I certainly wish them the best as they follow their dream.

for your family in Portugal. Crusoe&
Sawyer will have a great playing area
and I think more fun on your farm. Look
at your growing potential for fruit&veg-
You will be able to sustain yourselves
from the land! The cost of living is less
in Portugal which will enable you to travel
more as well. It's warmer in your "neck
of the woods!" too! Italy has wonderful
architecture and scenery,but you can
always visit and see it as tourists! I
guess I'm just partial to your lovely

Yes I know you are popping in to the tub. Very brave you are all. So I follow them for a short time and now I am going to follow you all the way from Downunder. I grew up in Hungary and I live now in Oz. Until nearly 6 years ago we were in Sydney but now we are in the country with hills around in Northern NSW. Miss my family, friends sometimes even the big city because of option to go to but I would not go back to live there. Love cows and my neighbour has about 50 and I am loving them coming to our fence and chomp on my bushes. The way I travel around the world is in bed on youtube. Love doing things with my hand so I am going to learn from all of you. You've got me. Cheers🎉

I first started watching them from Eamon and Bec, it opened up so many van life channels, Trent and Allie, Indie Project, Frankie of grid, Ok Portugal (building homesteading) and many more. They also lived a parallel life too yours. When it comes to amazing builds check out: Self Reliance, Wild Wonderful off- grid also, Good Simple Living. They all built their own homes, with their own hands, Trent and Allie did too. Another two channels to watch is Tyler and Tod and also Vanwifes from Canada their hard work on their off grid properties is just beautiful.

Seems you all having a good time in Italy !! I have actually also subscribed to their site, since ca half a year, so that was a coincident !! I am trying to pinpoint the date you visited them, could it be january 2023 ?? Crusoe seems a tad younger, so I am not really sure....
However, I did not that you knew them, that was a surprise ! As for the pool, I thought you were going up a couple of terrasses, and look , or swim, but that natural pool seems a bit shallow, as I remember. You were probbly also up there for a peek?
Anyway, good for you get away for a spell, so enjoy the rest of the Eytalian Adventure and allda bestest from mikke....

This was great, love seeing your 2 families MAKING IN PERSON COMMUNITY. thanks for sharing your wonderful adventures.I did this back in the 70's started with moving to a logging camp in SE Alaska, on Prince of Wales Island.Where I met my hubby got married and our 2 kids were born. Now 44 years later still married 2 grown kids 3 grandkids. Still being brave and adventuring. I love seeing both family's adventures. I do laugh because we had "no tech" only float plane or boat on and off island no tv, phone, no nothing, other than a trailer to live in. A marine operator radio run by logging camp office was only communication, no stores. My husband taught school in the one room school. I soon became the camp nurse as I was an RN. It was the most wonderful life. It would of been a great You Tube adventure ha ha. Sending Blessings to you, thanks.

your doing the right thing. The "Trendy" don't realize how much more you get for your hard earned money in most parts of Italy than in most parts of Portugal. The asking prices for property in Portugal are outrageous for what you get. It's not sustainable

Yes I follow these lovely folk, it's so wonderful to observe people who don't simply wish for a different life but take the plunge and do it!. My years in the mountains of Tenerife opened my eyes to a new culture and a new language and even though I'm no longer there and now on Anglesey in North Wales, I have friends for life and when I return to visit I am greeted with such joy and love it overwhelms me every time. Now I'm visiting New Zealand to see my own family who bravely moved out from the UK ten years ago and once again my horizons are extended ,I'm learning Maori! It is said that our lives are a journey, make it a good one!

Carissimi what a laugh the ending, saw all of you on Instagram, love Italy it's vistas cannot be compared to anywhere else with the culture, not to put down any other European country, each one has it's riches, but Italy is Italia, culture, food, panoramic views from north to south, east to west. Malpensa Airport reachable only within Europe of course, worked many moons ago with one of the Ryan's of Ryanair, bringing lots of memories, how is it to fly now with Ryanair??? All in all a funny video with children playing, building and helping, love to see them enjoying your visit and you Tara and John turning to childhood yourselves. Happy your community of van travellers getting bigger. Next stop Torino maybe with LeAw family???. I have been following this family too. Love those mountains, but their land is so steep. You automatically compare and to be honest I prefer your property in Portugal. I just love your meadow surrounded by those trees. I love to see all together though ! This is so much fun ! 💕🌷

Have you watched Martijn Doolaard or Kylie Flavell both of whom are restoring properties in Italy. Martijn is restoring a couple of shepherds huts in the mountains. Kylie is married to an Italian and they are restoring/updating his ancestral home in Tuscany. Both very interesting youtube channels.

great for you to visit another family that trailed before you that also do youtube. I know getting building approved and done in Italy is a nightmare. That's why you can purchase homes for under a hundred dollars. That view is stunnng...scary for the children in all those hills. In Portugal you have such great neighours who have given so much advice, assistance and friendship. I think you will stay in Portugal. A kitchen made with love, a flat vegetable garden, fruit trees and a new build for company. Cheers. Glad no-one went into cardio arrest after the cold plunge.

Italy is beautiful. Many regulations. Takes a year to get approval to do anything and get any help. However, I love Italy.

I have two farms in Brazil, that belonged to my grandfather. He bought the land throughout his life, after coming from Italy to start a new life. I love the Country where I was born and I like to start, develop and finish projects, what I think I'm doing renovating and modernizing production on our farms, so my son, who wants to study Agronomic Engineering, can continue to produce food for evertbody. I've been many times in Europe, Asia, Afica, U.S., you nane It, but as a tourist or spending time to learn, 'cause there's nothing like home. I hope you find one and keep on traveling around..

I have been following you from Denmark. I'm looking forward to every Sunday. Beautiful stunning and remarkable renovation. You rely did a great job in Portugal. You are also amazing in your way of raising your children. A unique purpose driven role model and trailblazer to the world.
I am now thinking after this episode that your progress is very advanced in Portugal vs. Italy. You also seem to have a very stable and reliable support in your neighbours who have looked out for your farm and even helped you build it up and provided you with intel from the previous owner.
I believe that the living costs are higher in Italy. But in the end you are the one making the decisions.
I sincerely understand why you are struggling to move on in renovating in Portugal because of all the challenges you have faced like child birth, language barriers and all the other stuff that can and will weigh you down no matter how strong you are. I don't believe that it's possible to avoid that in the future. That's live to you. But you seem to be very resilient United.
But I believe that the family in Italy is a valuable addition to your family and your purpose whether you move or stay.
May you all be blessed above and beyond measure.
