Happy Easter, Newbys! You guys truly have a paradise, a little piece of Heaven. :) I am so excited to see the tree houses, crow's nest, bridge, and all the fun things for yall's sweet boys! :) Love Melissa in the mountains of Virginia. 🙏
Hey Newbys, @ around the 12:08 mark, close to where you are standing, Tara, I noticed the short concrete pillars on the concrete pad/patio area. Of course, I wouldn't know what they were originally there for, but I invisioned boards/slats/rails something of the sort, positioned across them to form an L shape bench. The mountain views from there are very pretty. I just wanted to share the idea that popped into my head, lol. I'm not sure where the door leads to, so it may not be a good hangout area. I guess I missed that whenever you guys showed it, but it looks like it is the left side of the front of the house if looking at the house, so maybe a side patio possibly. :)
kids are kids the world around. we all have challenges in life, with our kids, with our jobs, with ourselves, so don't feel weird about the things you will encounter. Just enjoy your lives and be happy that these moments happen. I just love watching the process, because been there done that. lol
Thank you, Newbys, for not showing your children's "difficult" times. It makes me cringe when other channels do so. We adults don't have the right to humiliate children.
Hey Newbys Enjoyed your mid week catch up. Nice to see everything coming together. Can't get over how much Crusoe is growing and what a character he is. Looking forward to Sunday's vlog to see how much more has been done to the tiny house. Cheers.
Hello Sandra. He is learning new words every single day and is getting cuter day by day too. We have so many exciting things happening on the farm, so from now on we will be posting a new episode every Wednesday and Sunday ❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely love those roof tiles and I'm happy you decided to clean them up and use the good ones. You could also take the broken tiles and incorporate those in the garden to stop weeds and make a path. When I start my seeds, I wet the soil and then plant. Some of my seeds are small and don't want them "washing off" with a stream of water. I also use a spray bottle to throughly water them in. Then I cover with a clear lid to retain said moisture. I'm excited to see how yall's garden grows! ❤
Hi Tara..I completely get the having 2 small boys and the challenges that come with that. We have 3 boys (they are proper men today) and we often wonder how we managed to keep it all together. My first 2 boys are only 18 months apart. So having 2 in diapers for the first 3 years demanding almost every minute of me (and my husband) was tough, really tough at times. Our third came 5 years after our first. An unexpected bundle of love! Many times a deep breath and a sneak peak at them sleeping so peacefully often made us appreciate the gift that they are. Keep trudging through. You and John are amazing parents.
Hi Dale. They each come with their own challenges friend, it isn't an easy task but they bring us so much joy and love! Wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️❤️❤️
Oh wow, we are almost similar. 3 boys as well, 10 months apart, born in the same year and 4 years later another child. I found it easy, ( with the 2 ) mind you I was 25. I wish I could go back in time and relive those moments. 😊
It was lovely to read this, I was the same, two boys 18 months apart then 3 years after the first we had another boy (they are now 34,32, and 30) It was tiring in the beginning but LOVED every minute. We just saw our middle son married before xmas. Such a joy and so proud of them all.
@@shelleypoole6415 I know right? I see pictures of our boys young and I think how much i really miss those little boys. They're all ground now and we have a little grand baby.
Thank you Tara and John for being my sanity and reminding me that life doesn't have to be stressful. Things aren't going well for RSA right now, I'm sure you guys hear about that.... it's good to check in on Sundays to watch good stuff 👍
Thanks so much for watching Louise, we are so sorry to hear about everything that is happening in South Africa right now. Wish there was something we could do ❤️❤️❤️
It's wonderful to see the progress you and John are making. The Portugal homestead gets more charming every week. It's a fairytale setting come to life! Have I said what a handsome couple John and you are? You both have so much patience with little Crusoe 👍😊💪🌱
Thank you KG! What a lovely comment to read. Thank you friend. we are having so much fun here on the farm. Great to have you joining us. 🙏🇵🇹🏡 Just also to let you know, we will be releasing full length videos on a Wednesday as well as Sunday, there is loads going on this time of year! Busy busy! ❤️❤️🙏🙏
Oh the days of toddler melt downs. no they do not need to be immortalized we all remember just fine. I love that you put the transcription of what he is saying.
That’s right. He suddenly looks so grown!!! i remember when my beautiful boy had his long curls, and then lost them. ( he’s nearly forty now, and i think, longing for a life quite like this) ❤ i honestly feel when i watch your progress, that my body feels as if it is right there. it’s kind of miraculous-and rejuvenating.
Oh wow, Tara. Of course life is real and has rough edges. Thanks for sharing that, otherwise it would be kind of fake, wouldn’t it? Wish I could reach out and help sometimes. I trust you know we all send you and the boys (😅) so much Grace! big love, from Canada.
I know it isn't all plain sailing with two small children. Can you imagine what it would be like for us to watch the little ones having tantrums!! You have two gorgeous children behaving naturally. Good luck with the move. You are doing just great. 👍 xx
Thank you for responding so quickly I appreciate it & now understand you’re reasoning. I’ve watched you guys from day 1 & enjoy your videos! I always get to view them quickly as it’s around 10.45 pm here in Victoria Australia & I’m just getting ready for bed-I wait to watch your progress!
We are so glad you have enjoyed our episodes Kerry. Thanks so much for spending your Sunday evening with us! Especially when it's so late in Victoria. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️❤️❤️
Monday morning here in New Zealand. 1am. Just finished potting up hundreds of strawberry runners while toddler having good night sleep. Nice surprise to see bit of your video but obviously I need to get to bed will look forward to watching more later on. awesome progress, love watching your vids and family growing 🌺💕
ALSO, VERY HAPPY 🎉🎉🎉 TO SEE THE ~ "GUEST COTTAGE PROGRESS" ~ NOW UNDERWAY WITH JOHN DRILLING PLUGS INTO THE WALL AND WITH PRECIOUS ~ "MAMA TARA'S" ~ WONDERFUL ATTEMPT ...... AT SEED PLANTING NOW. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE RESULTS IN A FEW WEEKS TIME TOO 💕😇.
I know I have told you before, but watching you brings so many moments back of my family on our little farm in the early 1970's. I had 350 tomato plants , 50 eggplant, 20 mounts of zucchini and summer squash, 20 peppers, at least 10 rows of beans and peas, lettuce planted at different times, pototoes,( which I was told never use the same area as the tomatoes, due to they would get blyth which will kill them. Then fall would can then all for the winter and we raised on cow for our meat and a pig farm near us would give us two pigs because my husband always help repair his equippment if it broke. Watching this is like living my life again and remembering all those help times. You all are doing a terrific job!!! I too knew nothing about raising veggies , I just did the same as you. But with being able to learn from the internet it is a wonderful tool. Love, love, watching you every week. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Always smiling , Donna Brookfield Ma. USA
We are so glad you enjoyed this episode Donna. Sounds like your farm was incredible friend. Sending you lots of love and thanks for your support ❤️❤️❤️
I think Crusoe is so lovely because you keep him with you and playing at helping all the time, even though he may be underfoot a lot. He doesn't have time to get bored. You're actually teaching him how to be a dad, some day.
I love the way John just knows what he's doing to put electricity into the tiny house 🏠 well good luck in all your endeavors can't wait to see the finished little house Kudos to Tara and the veggies
I agree that you have the same challenges bringing up a family. However you are raising your kids in a very positive environment full of warmth and love .
Not only is off grid living a non stop full time job, add a couple of wonderful very young children into the mix. PLUS being UA-camrs is also a lot of work editing etc. Cooking, cleaning washing. It is tough! Add to that renovations. Wow! Keep rocking and THANK YOU for showing us how you are doing it! 🙏 I'm sitting watching a fantastic sunset here in Somerset UK 😄
I have two other UA-camrs that I love and respect as much as you guys. I love you as a couple, love the journey, love Crusoe looking like his father, his beautiful smile and adventurous self. I’m waiting for Sawyer to get older develop his personality, and provide feedback. Continue to be happy, adventurous to make me happy. Love you guys, so special
Hello Newby's... what a pleasant surprise... a Wednesday video. You have made great progress. Caruso apparently thought John needed a shower... 🌧🌧🌧 water fights are the best, but maybe not so much in February. Caruso laughing at being able to make John run. Wonderful memories. I love how he is eager to help... See you Sunday.
Hello Cathy. We are so glad you enjoyed this episode! Crusoe absolutely LOVES wetting his dad, it is one of his favourite things to do. See you on Sunday friend ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Newbys……. Busy busy busy bees! Such a lovely project the tiny house and being made with brute force and loving care for the planet……. Let’s hope you can get some well earned rest. So glad spring is coming can’t wait! See ya next week , love and hugs xxxx❤️❤️❤️❤️🌍🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
Thank-you again for an eventful video of your dream adventure, I noticed you changed your intro, wonderful, exactly talking about your dreams. I do not have a farm nor have a big house to go off grid however the idea with the solar panel and the Ecoflo generator is optimal in your case. Some of us are living our dreams through you. We are here to encourage you, show our experiences, gardening and crop harvesting is relative to good weather, rich soil, and lots of tricks which you will learn I am sure from your friendly neighbours. What you planted is basically the vegetables you eat daily. All in all beautiful to see your children enjoying the outdoors sun . Every day has it's challenges in parenting or simply day to day life. Your positive and cheerful outlooks will help in your difficult times. Great to see you are well. God continue to bless you all abundantly 🙏🙏🙏💖🌺🥰🥰🥰🏡
We are so glad you enjoyed this episode Joanne! Thank you for all your encouragement friend, it means the world to us. Sending you lots of love and stay tuned - we have a video coming out on Wednesday! So many exciting things happening 😊🙏🏼❤️
@@TheNewbys Will certainly watch, I will be planting my tomatoes and herbs next month, good idea to plant basil, chives, garlic, oregano, they do not need much maintenance and you will enjoy them in your food preparation. Cheers🧄🥬🫑🍅🌶️
Hallo ihr Vier Ich schreibe in meiner Muttersprache deutsch. Google will translate 😉 Ich bin bereits 70 Jahre alt und erinnere mich an meine Jugendzeit in Südafrika. Ihr lebt das Leben, dass ich damals geträumt habe. Viel Glück für euch. Das Leben wollte etwas anderes für mich. Now i polish up my english and itˋs geting better and better.
I love that you visibly had a REST! You guys are exhausting to watch sometimes, so it was lovely to see Tara and Crusoe enjoying a nap on the sofa in the sunshine. While I agree with you about highlighting the positives, it's also funny looking back at some of the 'cross' moments with your kids. I have a fabulous set of photos of washing my 2-year-old's hair outdoors when we didn't have running water. She HATED it and her face is a picture. If looks could kill haha. Good luck with the Tiny House renovations, it's really starting to come together.
Thanks so much Lottie, we do need to remind ourselves to rest sometimes. That is so special, I can just imagine what those photo's look like haha such special memories. Thanks so much for sharing. Sending you lots of love❤️❤️❤️
So excited to watch your veggie garden grow! When I moved to Bermuda from the US, the hardest thing was getting to know a new climate, weather patterns, and the comings and goings of different pollinators/insects/pests throughout the year. Keep experimenting and having fun, and you'll be delivering bags of veggies to your friends and neighbors in no time! Thank you for another great video!
A loft in the tiny house would give you that extra space for a sitting area and would add a little extra character to the tiny house. Sawyer is getting so big and already picking up on expressions and crueso is a joy to watch him having some much fun playing outside. Have a blessed week.
"Learned that from his mum" made me laugh so hard 🤣🤣 Would have learned that from me too - I hate spiders. Bless you all. Thank you for always making my day with you videos.
I’m so enjoying the progress you both are making on the farm & watching your boys growing up. I have a daughter & 2 boys who are 2 years apart, they are now 42, 40 & 38 yrs. old. Watching your boys brings back so many wonderful & joyous memories! I’m also blessed to be a grandmother of a 9 yr. old little girl. Love watching your channel!!!❤️🇵🇹🇨🇦
How exciting, when I planted my garden I used a small stake with the packet attached so I knew what’s what Best luck, nothing nicer than picking yr own veggies. 💕💕
Garden answer is a great UA-cam channel from Oregon USA with gardening tips and also the middle sized garden from UK. Then it’s about experimenting, as you say, to get to your area; to know hours of sun/day, pests and pollinators, etc. good 👍 luck. Gardening is such a joy. Your little band of merry men will grow like weeds and learn how to grow in the process 😊
Thats the dream, to be off grid, glad to see you're making it happen! Great idea to just have the Ecoflow for when you need it so no permanent hook up needed. Have a great week my friends!
It must be so encouraging to donate some wizzy helpful thing, like the solar battery, to folk who really ‘get’ the effort it takes to live off grid! Simple ideas often take a great deal of very hard work, routine and faith in the outcome. I have all of those for you, dear Newby’s 👩🏻🌾🙋🏻♀️🌝
Thanks so much for your kind words and comment Anne, your constant support means the world to us. We absolutely love our little power box, it has been so helpful when it comes to our projects. Sending you lots of love friend ❤️❤️❤️
I love seeing the progress of your tiny home and gardens. It is amazing to see what a you are developing each week and your amazing imagination. Thank you for making us feel a part of it. For the tiny home - have you thought about putting in a Murphy bed? That way it could always be used as a playroom/lounge/school room when you do not have visitors staying there. I love seeing your kids grow up and reaching new milestones. I love seeing Crusoe be brave and explore (when there are no spiders) and look forward to seeing Sawyer trailing behind him and they move around the farm. Maybe you could film and edit private moments for just your family. You know… something for their 21st birthdays… or for to play to them when they have terrible 2s of their own. Have a great day. Thank you
Tara love the planting of your seedlings. Living in South Africa we have water outages as the pumping of water is interrupted with load shedding. I drink a lot of bottled water . I have been collecting the bottles. I cut the bottles in half and I kept all the tops . I mixed coconut husk with some compost . Planted a few seeds in the bottom of bottle in my mixture. Each bottle was watered and then closed it with the top. Until the seedlings had grown I did not open the bottle. The bottles that needed direct sun was placed in the direct sun and the water used in the begging formed droplets and watered the seedlings. Saves on water.
I’m so glad I found yoi, I now look forward to watching you on Sundays and seeing what you have been up to all week. Can’t wait til next Sunday now to see the progress on the tiny house. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us xx
Thanks Ruth! It’s a juggling act for sure. But we are lucky and we never forget that. Thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🇵🇹🏡
Tara seed planting is fun. When doing melons, cucumbers, and squash plant 2-3 seeds per pod as most of these types of plants require a second plant to help with pollination. Also if you plant peppers and tomatoes make sure to add some crushed egg shells and pot Ash( the ash leftover from a fire) the nitrogen and calcium help grow healthy tomatoes and peppers and help to prevent blossom rot.
Happy to see you thrive on your fantastic property. Seeing the little ones grow up close to nature, wondering about and discover what’s there reminds me of my own childhood in the countryside. 🎉
Hi Newbys I always enjoy my Sunday nights watching you to see what progress you have both made during the week on the farm. Can't get over how fast Sawyer and Crusoe are growing. I like the idea of you recycling / upcycling things you already have on the farm. I can't wait to see whether your seedlings grow seeing your still having chilli weather where you are. Cheers from Sunny Queensland.
Hi Sandra, thank you so much for spending your Sunday evening with us. Our little boys are growing up so quickly! We are so excited to see what veggies we can grow and one day enjoy, so exciting! Thanks so much for watching friend 😊🌱❤️🇵🇹
Watching your family on Sunday morning is my favorite way to start my week… only out done by waking up with my 2 year old granddaughter kissing me awake saying MiMi I wake up! Have a joyful and blessed week
Hello Newby's... another packed video. Can't remember... Did you replace windows in another project.?. You could use those to build a cold frame for your seedlings. Spinach, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, "brassicas" are all cold loving plants. If the weather was warmer, John is right, just plant seeds in the ground. Soil temperature should be at least 22°C. If there is one parent who says their children are perfect is not being truthful. I agree, stay focused on the positive. I love the Swiss Family Robinson theme. John needs to make sure all the builds will hold his weight.🏝🏝
Hello Cathy, we did replace the windows in our house a couple of months ago! That is a great idea, thanks so much for sharing. John will definitely make sure the playground project can hold adult weight because I am pretty sure not only the kids are going to enjoy that one! Thanks so much for watching friend 😊❤️🙏🏼🇵🇹
Who needs the telly if you have the Newby's,such a nice one this vlog Crusoe yelling that he saw a spider and then John's comment that he learn that from his mum 😄 The reason that you have so much followers is that we recordnice the situations you are in ,and you are a down to earth couple who are onest and humble I just started yesterday with growing vegtables myself, carrots ,broccoli, tomato's,peppers, cucumber, radich so verry curius if it will work Good luck with the renovation of the tiny house and see you next sunday👋
Thank you Adrienne! What a lovely comment to read. Thank you friend. Good luck with your planting and veggies! We are having so much fun here on the farm. Great to have you joining us. 🙏🇵🇹🏡
I’ve leaned that planting certain plants with others helps prevent pest ( I planted Marigolds with my tomatoes and I had a party good tomato harvest last year). I’m so excited for Spring to start our growing season. Yep, focusing on the awesome positive times is good for everyone 🥰
Oh wow that is amazing Annelies, we will keep that in mind! We can't wait to see what veggies we can grow and one day enjoy. So exciting! Thanks so much for watching friend, we always love reading your comments ❤️❤️❤️
Hello friends. I love Sunday mornings, a tray of tea, and your new video! Sawyer sleeping in his stroller in the sun brought back sweet memories of our daughter in her stroller in our garden in SA. Crusoe helping John is my favorite. John just smiles and gently teaches Crusoe while allowing him to “help.” Those roof tiles you are reusing are beautiful, can’t wait to see them in place. Tara, I was smiling while you carefully marked your seeds. All I could think of is that Crusoe would have them repositioned in minutes. Have a wonderful week. 🌸
Thanks Irene! Crusoe for sure will get involved in reorganising those seeds!! Thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🇵🇹🏡
I'm excited to see you planting your seeds-can't wait to see your greenhouse get done. The tiny house is really coming along-I'm so glad you could recycle the tiles! It's really important to rest-esp with two little ones. Take care and have a great week!
Thanks so much Melanie, we can't wait to get started on that project either! We have so many exciting things happening, stay tuned because we have a video launching on Wednesday!! Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
It’s so fun to watch the four of you working in and enjoying that beautiful sunshine! It’s snowing here in Washington state but fortunately I get to sit inside and just watch it…..and enjoy a new video from the Newbys!💗
Love that you are keeping it real. Of course you are bound to be worn out at times, little sleep, new challenges everyday But this is what makes what you are doing even more remarkable and why I personally am proud to be one of your Patrons. You Rock. Thank you for giving us a glimpse In to your reality. Sending a huge hug to you all. Keep doing what you are doing. You do it so so well. Julie
I've been growing veggies for 20 years and no year is ever the same. With labelling, which I am not great at so there is always a surprise, I now cut up plastic margarine tubs and use an indelible pen. I know they are plastic but it's reusing! Happy veggie growing!!
That's a great way to go...just start and if it doesn't work it doesn't work, make mistakes and try something else. Love it! That's what I've been telling myself this week.
Lovely video as always. Also lovely progress planting seeds, working on the tiny house. Your enthusiasm will be rewarded. Your property is already, but will be a wonderful one from any point of view, any time you add something special to the process. Sawyer will be soon ready to join Crusoe in helping out busy daddy.
Thanks so much Luisa, we are so appreciate of your support friend. We always love hearing from you! Sawyer will be running around with Crusoe in no time. Sending you lots of love ❤️❤️❤️
Love the new intro ! Love the new shelf in the kitchen ❤️ Love that you suggested the Raising Voyagers and Scotters !! How about a Murphy bed in the tiny house ? Can’t wait till next week 😊
What a wonderful update. I'm with John with the seeds. Plant, fertilize and let Mother Nature do the rest. Lol. How could they not flourish in such a beautiful place? Always a "thumbs up".
Hello little family, always a joy to watch, fingers crossed for all your endeavours, if enthusiasm equals success you've nothing to worry about, lots of love and best wishes from Oz!!🥰👌👍💪
I live in Cape Town and we have less loadshedding than in rest of country but still a constant problem, would love something like ecoflow but unfortunately its not something that most south africans can afford....
Tara, I think you meant to say, we don't need to high- light the bad moments of our children, I AGREE! ☺️ John, I'm so happy you've decided to REUSE the tiles, I find them quite lovely as I try NOT to waste either! Your friend, Mikio 💚🇵🇹
Thanks so much Mikio, we want to try and focus on the positives! We always love hearing from you friend, thanks so much for watching and for all your comments 😊🙏🏼❤️
New subscriber here. Hi Newbys. Hi Tara. Thank you for pre-empting the need to NOT include the " bad moments" of toddlers. That's part of developmental stage and everyone should know that. There's one family here in US that shows everything about their children's activities and the channel becomes a flat form for bullies, specifically child bullying even naming toddlers bad names. It takes only one person to make negative unnecessary comment for floodgates to open for bullies and thats not good for everyone. BTW learned from one garden You Tuber that when starting seeds using a seed starter cell tray and SEED STARTING MIX is to pre-moisten the soil first in a bucket then transfer to tray ( not too watery, ie, when soil is squeezed no water dripping ) to prevent " washing away" when the seeds are watered. That's how I do mine and the process is a lot neater and less mess , no need to water after seeds are planted. After seeds sprouted and need moisture , you can add water from under ( double tray) to wick water to the plant . Keep up the good positive vibes. 🥰
Love 💕💕💕 my Newbyz ! Your building projects are so practical and involving ! I love your farm, you and your hardworking hubby are such a great team together ! Whether washing tiles with high pressure or advertising the Eco flow you are just a good team together! I pray I get a hubby we can really work with as a team
It wouldn’t be normal Tara if your kids didn’t go through the terrible twos, etc. so nothing to worry about and no need to advertise. They are great and will grow into happy well adjusted grown ups. You are giving them a great life. Wish I could have done that with mine!!
You are quite right friend, a challenging but definitely normal phase. Thank you so much, we feel very blessed and lucky that we get to give them this kind of life! Thanks so much for watching friend, we are so appreciate of your support ❤️🇵🇹
I have to say I love a good old jet wash…something very satisfying about seeing all the grime going away to leave sparkly cleanness. Great to see you doing your planting, I had a veggie patch as a child and my mum’s guidance was always to keep it simple - so we had peas, potatoes and turnip - we basically just chucked them in the ground and they grew! I remember soaking dried peas overnight and then planting them the next day….they provided a lovely crop of yummy peas. Very special to grow your own, that’s for sure.
As a Colorado native I’m so envious of the fact that you can plant so early. I have to wait until mid May. Even then we can still get snow. The boys are so gorgeous. It’s so good to see you enjoying them. Sure they have there moments (days), but don’t we all? You both have such patience and love it will pay off later. I always look forward to your next video. It’s so exciting to watch your progress. 🙏❤️
Hi Jaqueline! I know exactly what you mean! John lived in Finland for a long time and would often start planting in the snow, with some success, he just couldn’t wait to get started! Thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🇵🇹🏡
I watch this couple from a the UK,that also have a farm in Portugal. They took their old broken roof tiles, broke them up about the size of gravel and put it in their cement mixer with water and took the sharp edges. It spread out the gravel they had left over. Just a idea 💡
First tip , label seeds diligently . OMG every, every year I mess up because I get distracted or whatever . Not feeling well here so everything’s being put behind but hubby did clean out the greenhouse for me today. Good luck with everything x
I am exactly the same Susan, not sure if I am going to remember what I planted where haha Thanks so much for watching friend, best of luck with your greenhouse! Hope you feel better soon ❤️❤️❤️
OH MY GOODNESS ..... CRUSOE IS A REAL LITTLE BOY NOW WITH THAT NEW HAIRCUT OF HIS ! ! ! SUCH ADORABLE ANTICS TOO AND ..... THE THINGS THAT 💕 HE💕 COMES OUT WITH NOW ~ PRECIOUS LITTLE DARLING💕 THAT HE💕 IS HOWEVER ...... JUST NOT WANTING HIM💕 TO GROW UP SO FAST ! ! !
We are having a vegetable garden for a long time. We save the toiletpaper roll's voor starting seeds in. Make a good mix from potting ground and 1/5 of wite sand. Mix it to a nice ground. ( See also films posted on UA-cam from Monty Don) , and start inside, until you have some nice plants en put them out in bigger pots. When there s a good temperature, no frost anymore, you can put them outside..... GOOD LUCK we love you 're post from Ecoflow. We see several different people living off grid, Like Martijn Dolaard in the moutains of Italy, or Diego Leon, of=r the Pethericks and they all received products from Ecoflom. Love it.
The good thing about veggies is that every season is a new start. Once you are more comfortable with it, I would highly recommend getting some perennials, like Egyptian walking onion (once you have them you have them forever), asparagus (lasts for 30 years and tastes SO good fresh). Some peppers will also have 2 or 3 seasons in them. If your first year is not successful, please don't give up. So many people started it during lockdown and gave up after just one season. As you said if you don't start, you won't learn. Even if you only get some stuff out of your garden, it is just so soul-satisfying. I have a feeling yours will be successful.
Thanks so much for the advice, we will definitely look at getting some perennials when we are more comfortable with it all. Thanks so much for watching friend 😊🌱❤️🇵🇹
It’s normal to us I guess because we don’t really know any different. It is fascinating though. The first leaves start to return to the trees. A wonderful time of year. 🙏🙏❤️❤️
I love my Sundays!!! Thank you for keeping it real. If you think any 2 year old is the perfect child, then you have no children. Still love him and love watching him help dad. Sawyer is getting so big. Have a great week and see you in the next one!!!
Another great video, your family continues to bring a joyful time on Sundays. We have now got solar power for our home so far we are nearly 90% off grid. Take care the best part are the cuddles on the couch enjoy
Wow!! Audrey, that’s fantastic well done you friend. 90% is amazing, you are sooo far ahead of us, but what you show us is that it is possible. Thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🇵🇹🏡

I had a good laugh at Crusoe's screams after seeing a spider and the written narrative that he 'learned it from his mum' was so funny.
Thanks Lori! The little man is a real sponge for learning at the moment! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. ❤️🙏
Happy Sunday, Friends! ☺️
Happy Sunday friend, thanks so much for watching❤️❤️❤️
Sawyer is growing so quickly. Crusoe’s reaction to the spider was great. I agree with him.
Thanks Juanita! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend.
Please watch about spiders, it is possible there are little black widows !
talking about all your memories with the boys and them just being kids..😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Such happy tears!!! so very sweet!
Thank you Jamie! ❤️❤️🙏🙏
Thank you Tammara. That is a great idea, thanks so much for sharing 😊🌱❤️🇵🇹
@@shelleypoole6415 Yes I sometimes wish I could go back I miss those little boys. I have to be honest they were a handful at times.
Wish there was something we could do ❤️❤️❤️
Love seeing your dream unfold and become a reality 😍
Thanks so much friends, your support means the world to us ❤️❤️❤️
It's wonderful to see the progress you and John are making.
Thanks you friend. Great to hear from you, thanks for watching 👍🙏❤️
John has amazing skills, so talented. Crusoe got a hair cut, no curls left, he’s adorable.
Thanks Lucy! Thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🇵🇹🏡
👍 xx
Thanks Jean! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. ❤️❤️🙏🙏
I'm in Washington DC and I look forward to waking up Sunday morning and watching them also!!!
Thanks Candace!!
Thanks so much for watching Colly, we are so appreciate of your support 😊🙏🏼❤️
I love the way John just knows what he's doing to put electricity into the tiny house 🏠 well good luck in all your endeavors can't wait to see the finished little house
Kudos to Tara and the veggies
He is so amazing Miriam! Thanks so much for watching friend, we can't wait to see what veggies we can grow and eat 😊🌱❤️🇵🇹
I agree that you have the same challenges bringing up a family. However you are raising your kids in a very positive environment full of warmth and love .
Thanks Andrew! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. ❤️❤️
Your dreams are coming true.
What a beautiful property. ❤️
They are indeed friend, we are so lucky ❤️❤️❤️
Not only is off grid living a non stop full time job, add a couple of wonderful very young children into the mix. PLUS being UA-camrs is also a lot of work editing etc. Cooking, cleaning washing. It is tough! Add to that renovations. Wow! Keep rocking and THANK YOU for showing us how you are doing it! 🙏 I'm sitting watching a fantastic sunset here in Somerset UK 😄
It is definitely not an easy job Emma, thanks so much for your kind words! we are so appreciate of your support ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Marry! What a lovely comment to read. Thank you friend. we are having so much fun here on the farm. Great to have you joining us. 🙏🇵🇹🏡
Love watching your videos you are a beautiful family 😘 and the farm is going to be awesome when it's finished ❤️😘
Thanks so much for watching Esther, we are so appreciate of your support friend ❤️🇵🇹

Thanks so much for watching Elizabeth. we are so appreciate of your support. See you on Sunday 😊🙏🏼❤️
When you have the right partner, all dreams are possible.
Thanks Vicki. We think you’re right there. ❤️❤️🙏
AnD like wise I love when Caruso was tickling Sawyer Sawyer is so cute
Wasn't that just the cutest Ann! Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️❤️❤️
Hallo ihr Vier
Ich schreibe in meiner Muttersprache deutsch. Google will translate 😉
Ich bin bereits 70 Jahre alt und erinnere mich an meine Jugendzeit in Südafrika. Ihr lebt das Leben, dass ich damals geträumt habe. Viel Glück für euch. Das Leben wollte etwas anderes für mich.
Now i polish up my english and itˋs geting better and better.
Hi friend. Great to hear from you, thanks so much for all of your support. We love that we can share this adventure with you 😊❤️🙏🏼🇵🇹
I love that you visibly had a REST!
Crusoe looks so handsome with his new hair cut. 💕 Love your videos always!!
Thanks Sandra! That’s his dads work! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend.
Thank you Kate, we are so excited to see what we can grow and then hopefully enjoy one day. Thanks so much for watching friend 😊🌱❤️🇵🇹
A loft in the tiny house would give you that extra space for a sitting area and would add a little extra character to the tiny house. Sawyer is getting so big and already picking up on expressions and crueso is a joy to watch him having some much fun playing outside. Have a blessed week.
Great idea Kasandra! Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
"Learned that from his mum" made me laugh so hard 🤣🤣 Would have learned that from me too - I hate spiders. Bless you all. Thank you for always making my day with you videos.
🤣 we are so glad you enjoyed this episode Evan! Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
Thanks so much for watching Marilena, we are so appreciate of your support friend ❤️❤️❤️
How exciting, when I planted my garden I used a small stake with the packet attached so I knew what’s what
Best luck, nothing nicer than picking yr own veggies. 💕💕
We are so excited Dalia! Thanks so much for watching friend 😊🌱❤️🇵🇹
Thanks Ruth! Fab feedback and advice. Thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🇵🇹🏡
Thats the dream, to be off grid, glad to see you're making it happen! Great idea to just have the Ecoflow for when you need it so no permanent hook up needed. Have a great week my friends!
We absolutely love our EcoFlow products Claire, they have helped us so much! Thanks so much for watching friend ☀️🏡🇵🇹❤️
Thank you
Thanks so much Rebecca. A Murphy bed is a great idea, thanks so much for sharing! we are so appreciate of your support 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
@@TheNewbys ❤ Good night from New Zealand. It’s 2:20am here… so worth it🙂
Tara love the planting of your seedlings.
That is such a clever idea Charmaine! Well done! Great to hear from you friend, we are so grateful for your support! 😊🌱❤️🇵🇹
I’m so glad I found yoi, I now look forward to watching you on Sundays and seeing what you have been up to all week. Can’t wait til next Sunday now to see the progress on the tiny house. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us xx
We are so glad you enjoyed this episode Debsi! Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
You both still manage to get so much done even with 2 very young babies. I had twins and I got nothing much done for at least 3 years.
Thanks so much for the advice Dawn, we really do appreciate it! Sending you lots of love 😊🌱❤️🇵🇹
Happy to see you thrive on your fantastic property. Seeing the little ones grow up close to nature, wondering about and discover what’s there reminds me of my own childhood in the countryside. 🎉
Thanks so much for watching Andrea, we are so appreciate of your support ❤️🇵🇹
Thanks Patricia! What a lovely comment to read. Thank you friend. we are having so much fun here on the farm. Great to have you joining us. 🙏🇵🇹🏡
Who needs the telly if you have the Newby's,such a nice one this vlog
Crusoe yelling that he saw a spider and then John's comment that he learn that from his mum 😄
The reason that you have so much followers is that we recordnice the situations you are in ,and you are a down to earth couple who are onest and humble
I just started yesterday with growing vegtables myself, carrots ,broccoli, tomato's,peppers, cucumber, radich so verry curius if it will work
Good luck with the renovation of the tiny house and see you next sunday👋
Thank you Adrienne! What a lovely comment to read. Thank you friend. Good luck with your planting and veggies! We are having so much fun here on the farm. Great to have you joining us. 🙏🇵🇹🏡
Great that ye have decided to recycle the roof tiles!!
Happy Sunday 🌸

Thanks so much for watching Jan, we have so many exciting projects lined up! Can't wait to share them all with you ❤️❤️❤️
Good idea! More solar energy more free power more successful project's. Enjoy, God bless you!
We absolutely love it Andrei! Thanks so much for watching friend 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
John just smiles and gently teaches Crusoe while allowing him to “help.”
Those roof tiles you are reusing are beautiful, can’t wait to see them in place.
Thank you Susan ❤️❤️❤️
Love that you are keeping it real. Of course you are bound to be worn out at times, little sleep, new challenges everyday But this is what makes what you are doing even more remarkable and why I personally am proud to be one of your Patrons. You Rock. Thank you for giving us a glimpse In to your reality. Sending a huge hug to you all. Keep doing what you are doing. You do it so so well. Julie
Thanks so much Julie, each phase comes with its challenges. Thanks so much for your constant support, it really does mean so much to us ❤️❤️❤️
I've been growing veggies for 20 years and no year is ever the same. With labelling, which I am not great at so there is always a surprise, I now cut up plastic margarine tubs and use an indelible pen. I know they are plastic but it's reusing!
Happy veggie growing!!
Thanks so much Linda, we are so excited 😊🌱❤️🇵🇹
I am always astonished with what you two are doing. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks so much Geraldine, your support means the world to us 😊🙏🏼❤️
That's a great way to go...just start and if it doesn't work it doesn't work, make mistakes and try something else. Love it! That's what I've been telling myself this week.
Exactly that friend! Thanks so much for watching ❤️🇵🇹
I love the positivity, thank you.
Thanks so much for watching friend, we are so appreciate of your support ❤️❤️❤️
Lovely video as always. Also lovely progress planting seeds, working on the tiny house. Your enthusiasm will be rewarded. Your property is already, but will be a wonderful one from any point of view, any time you add something special to the process. Sawyer will be soon ready to join Crusoe in helping out busy daddy.
Thanks so much Luisa, we are so appreciate of your support friend. We always love hearing from you! Sawyer will be running around with Crusoe in no time. Sending you lots of love ❤️❤️❤️

Rule of thumb for planting seeds. Plant them as deep as they are big. Can't wait to see all the progress!
Thanks friend. That’s great advice!! ❤️❤️
Love the new intro ! Love the new shelf in the kitchen ❤️ Love that you suggested the Raising Voyagers and Scotters !! How about a Murphy bed in the tiny house ? Can’t wait till next week 😊
Hi Denise. The Murphy beds a smart idea. Hmmm let’s see. Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. ❤️🙏
What a wonderful update. I'm with John with the seeds. Plant, fertilize and let Mother Nature do the rest. Lol. How could they not flourish in such a beautiful place? Always a "thumbs up".
Thank you Mary! What a lovely comment to read. Thank you friend. we are having so much fun here on the farm. Great to have you joining us. 🙏🇵🇹🏡
Use wooden spoons as markers. If it is cold, you may want to cover the seeds with plastic for a bit.
Great ideas Geraldine, thanks so much for sharing 😊🌱❤️🇵🇹
How exciting for you to have off grid power!!!!
I predict that your vegetables will grow so nicely 👍👍
The boys are really growing up so fast 🥰
Thank you Annie! Thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🇵🇹🏡
Hello little family, always a joy to watch, fingers crossed for all your endeavours, if enthusiasm equals success you've nothing to worry about, lots of love and best wishes from Oz!!🥰👌👍💪

Ahhh, that Crusoe, that’s a real boy! You can’t deny him Jon, he looks just like you❤️🎶🤗🎶🇨🇦
Thanks so much for watching Joanne ❤️🇵🇹
As a South African, I am very lucky to stay in a 'no loadshedding' area as we stay near a hospital but I think the Ecofolow products are great
Oh you are lucky Janette! So glad you don't have to worry about 'loadshedding'. Thanks so much for watching friend ❤️🇵🇹
I live in Cape Town and we have less loadshedding than in rest of country but still a constant problem, would love something like ecoflow but unfortunately its not something that most south africans can afford....
I always be happy to see this family.
Thanks so much for watching Sônia ❤️❤️❤️
Used lollipop sticks are a great label for your seedlings … x
Great idea Julie, thanks so much for sharing 😊🌱❤️🇵🇹
Happy Sunday Newbys!
Thanks Andee! ❤️❤️🙏🙏
Tara, I think you meant to
say, we don't need to high-
light the bad moments of
our children, I AGREE! ☺️
John, I'm so happy you've
decided to REUSE the tiles,
I find them quite lovely as
I try NOT to waste either!

I'm the SAME way, there's
ENOUGH negativity in the
world today, we should all
CELEBRATE the positive!!!
Take care, Friends ☺️💚
Thanks so much Cha'bridget, we are so appreciate of your support and kind words. Sending you lots of love ❤️❤️❤️
A jet wash is always very satisfying Lesley! We love it! Thanks so much for watching friend 🏡😊🇵🇹❤️
It’s Earth Day! Snowing, 1:25 PM, 33°f. Two weeks ago a taste of spring 75- 82° days. Welcome to spring in Colorado.
I watch this couple from a the UK,that also have a farm in Portugal. They took their old broken roof tiles, broke them up about the size of gravel and put it in their cement mixer with water and took the sharp edges. It spread out the gravel they had left over. Just a idea 💡
Hi Beverley! That’s a great idea! Thank you. 👍🙏❤️

Love it.
Thanks so much for sharing that advice with us Anja, we love it! We absolutely love our EcoFlow products, they are amazing ❤️🇵🇹
Hello friends I always get excited when I watch you 😀😍😻😍😻😍
You are a wonderful family💕💕💕💕💕🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you Teśka! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. ❤️❤️
I love the idea of the playground for the boys, I'm sure they will have an amazing time playing there and can't wait to see it happen 😀
Thanks Karen, it’s going to be great fun! 🙏❤️
What a strange mix of bare deciduous trees, blooming flowers, and ripening oranges you have on your Portuguese farm. Fascinating.
Thank you Tina! Wise words friend.
Bravi sempre qualcosa di nuovo.... 😊👍👋👋

Tile clean team 👍💪👏 love to see backwards how it started
Using the end of a pencil is a good way to make your holes for the seeds
