Peace, joy & beauty- Jodi xo
In this video, it seemed like the Bioderma removed your eye makeup quicker. But, I am now interested in testing out this Avene cleansing water (and other Avene products!) for myself! I use Bioderma to get rid of my eye make-up and sometimes, if I am using a really stubborn waterproof mascara or eye liner (MUFE Aqua or UD 24/7), my Bioderma needs some help. I then use my NARS Waterproof Duo Eye Makeup Remover
Very helpful video. My cleanser for over 10 years is Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish. It has won so many awards - deservedly. Downside is I have to order it from the UK.
i use tried la roche posey and bioderma however prefer the bioderma more. as for removing my eye makeup i still prefer oil base makeup remover. i love garnier clean sensitive no perfume, alcohol and rubbing. that is amaing to remove eye makeup
I have both and find that they work much the same. The Avene leaves a slight residue but I rinse my face after using both so that really doesn't matter. I bought the Avene at Chemist Warehouse (it's much cheaper than Priceline).
To the person who asked where you can get the Simple eye makeup remover, it's sold at Woolies, Coles, Priceline, Target etc.
I find coconut oil to be by far the best makeup remover. It takes everything off and leaves my skin really soft and smooth.
not the exact date but I overheard 2 girls that work there talking about the display layout and where it was going to be placed. i'm assuming in the next 2 months?
You're welcome! Thanks for watching xo
I get mine from France. We usually visit each year for a couple of months, but I've not been up to it the last year so Jean Luc has been picking it up for me as he still takes short trips over regularly. I use 2-3 bottles a year.
Nice review. Always wanted to try any of them and I love avene's products so much that I'm going to give their micellar water a try after watching your video. Thank you x
Ah thanks for that. do you find a big difference between the 2 Bioderma formulas? Do you have a preference?
I've only used the Avene. I don't like how it makes my skin feel afterwards, almost like there's some residue left? I'd much rather double cleanse with a cleansing balm then a gel cleanser. Thanks for another great video Jodi, really appreciate that you take the time at the end of a long day to film for us! x
Hi Jodi, that was a good comparison review thanks. I do use Bioderma as my first step cleanse. I remove all my makeup with it first then do my glycolic cleanse after that. I find the Bioderma removes every trace of makeup and enjoy seeing my muslin cloths as white as they were when they were new. Glad to see the Avene works just as well in case I can't get the B in time. X Isi
Great review I have the bioderma and I was wondering about the avene because it is deff easier to get a hold of. Thank you :)
i use an eye makeup remover for my eye makeup and then a facial wipe for the rest of my face. i make sure that all my makeup is off before cleansing my face with my face wash which is a cream formula. unfortunately i cant use a strong foaming cleanser because my skin is very sensitive and prone to drying even though its very acne prone. so i have been doing this exact same routine for years now and it is what works best for me! :)
hi Jodi, i definitely prefer the Bioderma, ive tried a few other forms of this from Loreal, B from superdrug etc, however i feel the bioderma to be the most gentlest on my eyes and you need less of it to remove your makeup.. i love it.. i take off all my makeup using the bioderma then use the liz earle cleanse and polish afterwards and i find my cleanse works best this way..
Yay! I hear from many who prefer the Bioderma, so it's lovely to know there are others like me who can't see much of a diff! x
Know what you means lovely- nothing like an oil for me when it comes to waterproof. Is that what you use?
You're a star! Will continue to look for Bioderma in stores here in WA- thanks so mch for sharing! xx
Ha ha! You're welcome. Thanks so much for letting e know your thoughts and what you prefer- love ot hear that- cheers! Jodi x
Very interesting comparison, Jodi, and thanks for this. I've never tried the Avene but use Bioderma; I like that there are 2 formulas. Here in Canada, Bioderma is just as readily available in drug stores as Avene. I think I'll try Avene if I find a sale.
do you know when exactly?
I agree, they both work really similar and I dont see a huge difference in either apart from fragrance. Price point isnt big either..loved this video Jodi! Thanks :) x
Cheers for that- thanks for watching! : )
Am I the only one who enjoys the background of Jodie's videos? I like the girly feel of all those lotions and potions. I get so annoyed how we Perth ppl get ignored by the rest of Australia - when are we ever going to get a proper DFO? Our Harbour Town is not all that. lol....sorry for going off topic.
Hi jodi you know I think the closest (and cheapest) I have come to bioderma here in aust is the simple kind to eyes eye makeup remover. It's the same water micelle type product, can buy it in the grocery story for about $7 and honestly I think it's 100% the same as bioderma.
I have tried both products and agree that they are similar, however I find that bioderma just gets SO much more gunky stuff out of my skin (technical terms) & I use less of the bioderma on the pad to use on the whole face while bioderma also helped reduce any inflammation and breakouts. Just my 18 yo skin here. Also there is a seller on ebay that sells 500mL bioderma for around $30 USD which is cheaper that avene I think! I use this method on eye makeup or baby oil. Also try bellabox xx :)
I will definitely head there when I run out- I didn't get that update, but have been in there plenty of times looking for it! Cheers for that! xx
I saw bioderma in terry white chemist in Kardinya
Terry White Chemists in Kardinya and Belmont in WA are stocking Bioderma. Bioderma have a Facebook page which is updated regularly with new stockists - Awesome new for us Aussies :) Loce your videos Jodi! :) xo
Because I LOVE waterproof mascara, and these don't seem to do anything to remove them.
Cheers for that! Didn't get that update! I ahve been in the Kardinya one countless times (not in the last few months probably though) looking for it. Now I know where to go -thanks so much for letting me know! x
You are so kind- thank you! I've added the link in the descrption bar (first line) for the Get REady with me I posted recently that I filmed creating this look with the Bare Minerals The Happy Place eyeshadow quad- really liked the way it turned out. YOu are so kind to offer shipping for everyone! Cheers xo
Not as well! I do much prefer an oil for waterproof x
Another great video Jodi. I have a feeling the Priceline will be stocking the Bioderma soon! As for me, I am not a fan of these "waters".
Great review, thanks. Have always wondered how these two products would compare. I use MAC's cleansing oil which is great and then the dermalogica cleanser.
This is a very good comparison (I like Bioderma) and buy mine online from the UK, it's cheaper than buying it from Australia but it's great that Bioderma is now available in the States you mention, hopefully it'll get to SA and WA soon. I haven't seen Avene here in NZ but I might investigate it, thanks for this video.
Hi Beth- thanks so much for all that info- it's great to hear from you and all the info regarding 'where to buy' these various things! I do also prefer an oil for removing makeup over anything else, but I do fee like my cleansing oils are a little easier to take off again vs coconut oil...
Hi Ginger Tea :) I get it from Terry White chemist at Westfield Carindale. They have 2 Terry Whites there, the one on the ground floor stocks it xx
Ah coconut oil- there's just another use for it I haven't tried. I do like oils for removing eye makeup as long as I can get the oil off after that easily! Thanks for letting me know what you use- love it! x
I like them both ... But I just used my Avene one and I think it's better x
How do you find these work with waterproof mascaras?
Firstly thank you for sharing. I was interested in the bioderma. Now will look at the Avene. I heard loreal do a 3 in 1 as well ?? Just FYI if I'm have no garnier dual cleansing for sensitive skin I use good old fashion coconut on slapped on my eyes and it gets rid of all traces fast.
Oh no re the stinging! I haven't noticed stingining- I wonder could it be the eye makeup itself as it's coming off stinging your eyes?
I like it! I'm enjoying the scent and would recommend as a standard body moisturizer- have you tried Body Butters from the Body Shop before?
I've been hearing great great things about that. Also the Eve Lom- have you tried that ever?
I heard Priceline will stock Bioderma soon keep on the look out!!!
You can get Bioderma for cheap from StrawberryNet as well :)
I much prefer the Bioderma to the Avene x The Avene always seems to leave a weird film on my skin.
Hey Jodie, Chemist Warehouse usually has the 500ml bottle of Avene for $32
I've never seen it here in any store, but have had a couple say that there are at least a couple Terry Whites now in WA that stcok the Bioderma and then also some Chemist Warehouses. Will continue to keep an eye out now I know they have expanded westward! Check out bioderma Australia's FAcebook page to see what Terry White stores near you carry it... You may be surprised!!
Hello Jodi, just wanted to say hello from Kingston, TN (USA). Love your videos! Thank you so much for the awesome reviews and chat.
Cheers lovely- Haven't tried it all over my face or compared them that way- so really helpfl to hear from you- cheers! It'll be interesting to hear what Priceline will be charging when they carry Bioderma as right now Bioderma is a better bang for your buck (sass sells it also at a great price).
Ah it's lovley to hear from you and what you like to use and why- thank you so much for sharing! Jodi x
plz temme a good makeup remover for getting off waterproof mascara n gel liners especially the inglot one coz its a complete pain to get them off...the inglot is the blackest ive seen but tends to get stuck in my lashes while getting it off
great review though
Hi Jodi,
Just a side question, what do you think of the Body Shop Moroccan Rose Body Butter? Would you recommend it?
Thanks!
Glad this helped! Thanks for writing x
what grocery store do you shop at?! also australian and LOVE micellar products xx
Ridiculous pricing!! Aw that's a bummer. Did you read other comments that Priceline will be stocking Bioderma soon? - will be interesting to see pricepoint there.
Thank you for doing this Jodi! I'm always looking for an alternative to use for bioderma. I can get the avene at my local Ulta here in the states. The bioderma is easy enough to order but I usually end up waiting until its too late & then run out. I'd like something I don't have to deal with shipping to me. Oh, I use these types as my pre cleanse of sorts & then use a cleansing balm. It works fantastic! Take care jodi:)
Good vid. /some Terry Whites do stock bioderma in melbourne but its frightfully expensive. Like 40 bucks for a small/ medium-
Definitely for waterproof and really tough to remove, you really can't go past an oil. I love Dermalogica Pre Cleanse but MAC, Bobbi Browm and Shu Uemura all make them, or you can get Softymo from sass.com. Alternatively coconut oil should work pretty well- others here have commented saying as much. I do feel more oil residue after cocout oil vs the cleansing oils, but maybe some don't mind that! x
Thanks so much for this :) I think the Avene seems like a really good choice though the fact you said it had more fragrance is the downfall for
Yeah. Love the BB oil and then I just use any random remover after cleaning to take off anything that's left. There was a time, when I LOVED the Dior one, but I am sure if I tried it again, it will no longer wow me :)
Thanks for the comparison Jodi -
Thanks for sharing that with me! I ca imaging exactly the satisfaction with the white cloths that you're talking about! That's why I Clarisonic in the mornings! Where do you get your Bioderma from Isi?
I'd heard that from Priceline on their Instagram- yay! Wonder if they'll be cheaper than Myer...
great video, thanks Jodi!
I can get both very easily here in Brisbane, I find they work the same too.. but they both sting the hell out of my eyes :( I might have to give the dermalogica a go
I use Garnier 2-in-1 gentle make up remover , do the job very well and easy to get at Priceline :)
Ah love to hear what you use- awesome products! x
How did you get bioderma in August already? Jodie i thought it only came out in Aus not long ago... Haha
I wonder why us south aussies and WA girls don't get the bioderma... strange
argan oil
I love watching your videos..what do you do for a living ?? X
Sasa ships my 500ml Bioderma to Aus for under $30 - love it!
I was thinking of trying the Eve Lom cleanser until I saw a 200ml pot in Meccacosmetica for $172 - that's crazy - I did actually laugh out loud!
Thank you for video :) Very helpful. I love Clinique eye-makeup remover and cleansing milk(or lotion) from Avenue for my face!
Choices would be nice..lol and thank you so much..it means a lot coming from one of my favorite gurus..xoxoxo
You're making lovely vids- keep it up! Not sure where we find Vichy in Oz, but it's nice ot have choices isn't it?
Oooh thanks for sharing that with me- so interesting to hear waht other people do and use- have a fantastic weekend! j x
great review... thank you
I thought the Avene took longer to dry, but then they felt the same around my eye to me. Thank you SO much for sharing that with me- it really does seem from comments here and on social media links that people do prefer the Bioderma to the Avene if they'd tried both- it's interesting! Will have to try on waterproof next time! x
Oooh thanks for sharing that- love to hear that, cheers, x
Thanks for letting me know - will keep that one in mind- cheers for that! : )
Thank you!! x
so helpful, thank you! x
Great review Jodi :-)
Priceline is going to be stocking Bioderma in the next few months :))
Love moo goo cleansing oils . Gets Everything off :)
Great vid
Such a good deal isn't it? That will last a good time!
* love
You are so sweet- it irks me that you look at a bit of a mess back there that's not very pleasing to the eye.... DFO, I know- it's NOT all that! Don't get me started on Tom Ford counters, Illamasqua, Inglot and much much more : (
omg! but will probably be way too expensive
Aha! Cheers for that x
....me ! Sensitive eyes! :) lots of love, Sanni xx
I soooooo wish badly that these were readily available..I did a review/first impression on Vichy Micellar water..I would love it if you'd check out my channel...I need some Bioderma in my life..lol
ooh I heard that- isn't it exciting!!?
I forgot to mention that I'm in the U.S..lol
You're so lovely ;)
I get most of my skincare advice from Caroline Hirons' blog called Beauty Mouth. So much amazing advice and lots of great product recommendations. You should check her out!
