Spillway Fishing for as many fish species as possible (June Fishing Tournament ep. 11)

Every June, I enter into the Roughfish Multispecies Fishing Challenge. The goal it to catch as many different freshwater species of fish as you can in the month of June. Micro fish do not count. Only the fish that can grow to a weight of one pound or more when they are an adult. On June 26th, I had 26 points, which is nowhere near the top 10, nor is it near the 40 fish I was hoping to catch total. That means it was time to hit the road and fish everywhere I could think of that had a fish species that could add to my total.

Good luck Tiefsa!! Hope you catch all the species that you are targeting! 👏 👏 👏
I’m trying my best to!
Great work adding a few more species to your tally board! Also even cooler you got to meet Ed the Diver too, his videos are wild for how much he brings up from the bottom of waterways
It was funny. I was fishing upriver from a bridge, and I saw someone diving. I didn't think twice about it. Then when I was walking back to my car, I saw Ed and Silent J in their truck. I said hello to the both of them, and Ed said we should get a picture. I didn't want to be weird and video myself walking up to him or anything. Those two were super nice! I'm even more impressed with them now, and I was already super impressed with what they do for our waterways.
Great video. Hopefully next year you get that grass pickerel, they're hard to find!
I spent three hours on that pond. I think I need to use a smaller lure, like a mini mite because the ones we caught were really small and bit ice fishing jigs.
You’ve been grinding!! 😮
I went fishing A TON this month. It really is a cool little fishing challenge I'm in every June. Speaking of grinding, you're everywhere. I saw you were in Eagle River now and did a ton of cleaning up over there. Was the Wisconsin River hard to dive in with it being so high?
Always cool to find a spot for yellerbass!
Love it, not really! 😂 Those damn bass!
I used to fish Rockland a lot. I only ever caught pickerel in the Winter through the ice. I would average 1 every 3-4 trips.
That’s the only way I’ve caught them too
Jealous of the yellow bass, need that one for the life list. None in my area. Great effort to add a couple more.
I heard from a few people that the Waterford spillway for the Fox River had some, and they were right. They weren't very big, but that's okay. I've caught some in Lac La Belle in Oconomowoc, too.
Hopefully you caught them on the Wisconsin!
I did catch some new species, but was it enough…
Glad the yellow bass rumor turned out to be true! Had to feel good to break the species dry spell.
It sure did! I had been fishing a long time before getting a new one. I was really bummed after not getting a pickerel, so the yellow bass was a 180 degree turn around!
You gotta try beaver dam, packed full of rough fish.
I did in the video before this
Also, I would have chopped up that common shiner and free-lined it at the gar
That's a really good idea! I didn't think of it, but that could have worked.
@@tiefsa highly visible gar like that respond well to free-lined small baits put right in front of their noses 😀
Can you please make a tutorial on how to make that home made spinner?
I kinda did it in this video. The tutorial starts at 2 minutes in. ua-cam.com/video/lxR2s8wfauY/v-deo.htmlsi=O0PlhHG4EwewDnv3
