Random youtube popup. Nice job. Lived in the East Valley for 10 years. AZ has some decent fishing but man it's tough. Especially those urban lakes. Unless you have a boat to go out to the big lakes its rough even then. Grew up in PA and now back, talk about different fishing techniques.
Great idea for a video. Good to see someone with some fresh ideas for fishing content. Love seeing you show off how diverse even a dessert fishery can be.
Nice man! I was watching this while my two older daughters were eating breakfast. They got sucked into it and kept watching with me! Well done! Solid editing work and making a longer video a page turner!
Nice work. I am a fly fisherman from NY and lived in Phoenix for 10 years but never fished there. A striper in Phoenix??? That's crazy. They put up a good fight but nothing like a trout (I also spin reel around the NYC waters). Tigh lines my friend.
Hey! That’s awesome and thanks for watching! Yessir striped bass can be found through various canals mostly in Scottsdale but they’re not very common and usually don’t get big at all.
@FishingWithPorter, Awesome video. This shows me that Arizona fishing is underrated and I'm an avid fisherman who's fished in about half of the states and several countries. If I ever visit Arizona, I definitely want to fish there.
Ya gotta go for some of the native species next time! Sonora Sucker, Desert Sucker, Apache Trout, etc, etc! Too many cool ones in your area to ignore! Thanks for the fun video :)

Great video though, great qauilty and it was really entertaining
Hey Porter. We moved here from Denver 6 months ago and broke foot at beginning of fly fishing season so have been hitting the pond behind my house instead (your #2). Was going to put up pics, but can't here. Was going to say you might want to come back. Since I knew nothing of what lived in this pond I think I skunked out the first 7 times I fished it. Now, sport fish most days and when I'm up for it, cats. I've been pulling 7-10 lbs cats of here pretty much every day. Everyone should learn to fish and stoked you're loving it so far. I don't really want our area to get packed with people, but you seem like a solid guy so I was going to let you know there's much, much bigger fish here. (I use a size 2 octopus hook (safer for fish) with a snell knot on it). The bigger the hook, the bigger the fish. Keep posting and good luck!

Great video! Just a suggestion from someone who has lost plenty of fish: when you use a net, aim at their face so they swim into the open mouth of the net, it looked like you were trying to scoop underneath the main portion of the fishes body when netting. If you scoop at their face they are much less likely to swim over or avoid the net.
