Well the video quality looked great from my end - but possibly helped by the bright and sharp.wearther. The audio was also super clear (via my headphones) - and I was amazed how quiet your bike came over, especially as it has fat tyres 👍 Am super excited to see your upcoming review of the Engwe LE20...
That's what I've been saying for a long time: throttles are essential for the elderly (ie. "less able-bodied"). I haven't tried torque sensing bikes, but certainly for cadence sensing bikes, throttles are essential. Even when I was young and "able-bodied" touring thousands and thousands of miles at a stretch, on a regular bike no less, it always struck me that stops and starts at intersections or for traffic put a frustratingly high amount of stress on both the body and joints, and also puts the rider at greater risk, since you are more an obstacle to vehicles in intersections than anywhere else. The solution: an ebike with a throttle. No more worries about intersections incidents, or even missing signals if you are approaching the intersection.
Love the videos! Assuming the LE20 doesn't come with a throttle in the UK, how easy do you think it would be to add one that only goes 4mph? I'm no ebike expert so I don't know how viable that would be with it being mid-drive. All I want is a road legal ecargo bike that I can actually insure and doesn't cost a fortune, so I'm really excited for the LE20!
@@ModProjects4306 even when setting off from standstill on a steep hill? that's the main concern I have especially when the bike itself is 40kg at minimum.
@@Rosieeeeeee I changed my freewheel to 11/34 … that said, with my backpack I’m 240 pounds. If you’re around 12/14 stone you won’t have to change a thing. The other thing is, the LE20 has 3” wide tyres, not 4” … so even less rolling resistance.
Another great videos thanks. You mentioned about getting back before the rain. Has anyone ever done a real world getting the bike soaked in the UK weather test to see if it would actually survive? I don't mean off road riding through rivers but just normal rain for a whole day or two?
Very tempted to buy one of these. I just would like to know if they still can be easily unlocked. I would prefer if they are not, with police eyeing fatbikes and confiscating them even if you haven't unlocked them. Reasoning is it's just easy to do. If the latest firmwares don't allow it, that would be great imo.
@@misteragony doesn’t matter. Remove the throttle and even fully unlocked it only gets up to about 12mph if you lift the back wheel and turn the crank which is all they can do. As long as you’re not doing ridiculous speed (keep it under 20mph) and you’ll be golden. The main thing they’re looking for is the throttle which is a)useless at 4mph and b) the reason I removed mine.

I’ve got the engine x. I’m from Sheffield. Pretty hilly. I’m 6ft5 and 18st. Pulls me without fault up hills with pedal assist. Love the bike.
Have you seen my reviews of the Engine X? The latest one has the rack battery on and is uk legal.
Yes. I’ve seen it. 👍

@@Rosieeeeeee you won’t need once. The torque sensor is like a throttle for your feet. I don’t have a throttle on my Engwe Engine Pro 2.0.
