Ebikes 2025 In 2025, new law will be going from 250w to 500w with speed staying at 15.5mph with a plus side being a throttle going from 3.7mph to 15.5mph the same as max speed which is good as 3,7mph is silly. But, when it comes to the things that would make a massive impact, they are like no, you can't do this and that. 500w isn't enough for heavier people. 1000w - 1500w is ok for that. It's not the power. But the speed they should be focusing on. Bmw m3, etc. can do massive speed, and they are legal. But the speed limit on a motorway is 70. You tell me that they do that speed. @@HoratioChinn I know. I’ve previously mentioned the feedback from the industry bodies such as the motorcycle association and Brompton Cycles (I mean, no vested interests by either of these parties, right?)
Like I said … the sensible pay for the actions of idiots and with even bigger idiots running the country it feels like we’re banging an empty drum. But I’ll keep going.
im a motor biker but i love my ebike im selling my motorbike so i can buy a better ebike you know more modern
4 mph throttle is nuts.
So walking speed
@@JohnMckeeman-j1y basically. Most e-bikes have a “walk” button, it pretty torqueless so pretty pointless as a “go” accelerator on the bike.
I just ghost pedal.
I don't think people have any concept of speed. 30 mph is easily achievable on an analogue bike, and those that live in the city, have a look at your cars average speed whilst out and about. I used to regularly struggle to average much more than 20mph. Getting hit at 20by a car vs a bike. No brainer. Bike doesn't require fossil fuels no brainer. How come you can buy a Porsche and do 150mph on a 70mph road but u get a bike that can do 27mph and everyone loses their shit. Backwards world where things only progress if some rich twat can make some money out of it zzzzzz
@@mikesmith1587 couldn’t agree more. I have a modified car that’s good for 180mph … I don’t drive everywhere at that speed. If you watch my video on the mental health benefits of e-bikes and see my average speed on that over a 58 mile ride it’s barely worth mentioning.
I go out on my ebike more than my car. I'm doing my bit for climate. I have a car for the long journeys. But for going to the shop, ect, i use the ebike. People in cars over take me at 15mph, 20mph not so much and 25-27mph never overtake me. My belief is on foot paths 15.5 mph is ok. I always slow down when passing people and have courtesy for other people. But, on the road when your with vehicles its safer to be going 25mph, i dont have people overtaking me, ( unless and idiot trying to get home in a hurry) throttle is way better in many situations, i use throttle when i need to. It has saved me a couple of times, from cars, not ebikes. They are the way forward, and when the government see that, the better. They go on about saving the planet. Here, have a cardbored straw. Because they dont! 15mph on foot maths but 25mph on roads is safer. They need to look at this. Its the speed they should be governing, not the watts of a motor.
@@mattkinger4173 brilliant. What annoys me the most is the fact that hire scooters can have a 12.5mph working throttle … which begs the question why can’t we?
Its ludicrous. 🤷🏻♂️
@ModProjects4306 exactly, I've had a couple scooter that can do 20mph. They are great for commuting and don't take up much space. But, I feel safer on a bike. I've seen the scooters dumped wherever they take up space on city streets. Looks a mess. Why can't people use their own ones. That's right, as you said, they won't make as much money from it. They don't care about climate, etc. Just the lining in their pockets
Speed limit as it stands is fast enough for my requirements as I am not trying to keep up with other vehicles and not using over busy highways.
@@athollmcnicoll1028 the consultation isn’t about a speed increase, it’s about more powerful motors (more torque) and the legal use of a throttle up to 15.5mph.
You just cant win
Take away the winter payments from people who worked all their life. But keep on giving the bums who have kids £90 a week per child every Holiday. That they spend on lavish items.
you are right 11 billion would buy all us oap's and disabled who might want an E bike, we could even rent them on the cheap or buy them on the drip, But 15 miles an hour stupid rule hoofed out by morons 30 miles an hour far better for the road and 15 too fast for the pavement.
You wouldn't be doing 30 mph on a pedal bike, sounds like your looking for a moped. 15 mph for an OAP on a push bike is plenty.
Course you would what u talking about?
@@paulh1860 when was the last time you were out in traffic on a pushbike mate 15 mph is crap too dangerous.
